AGENDA ITEM 4.0.

[4.0 Celebrations / Board Points of Pride ]

ARE THERE ANY THINGS THAT BOARD MEMBERS WOULD LIKE TO CELEBRATE?

>> I WOULD DR. HALL.

I HAVE A POINT OF PRIDE I'D LIKE TO CELEBRATE.

>> OKAY. TRUSTEE DAVIS.

>> THE DISTRICT IS PARTICIPATING WITH AUTHENTIC COUNSELING AND COACHING CENTER, AND THEY ARE OFFERING 4-6 FREE GROUP OR INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING SESSIONS FOR ANY FAMILY IN NEED.

THE SERVICES ARE ASSESSED THROUGH THE COUNCIL ON THE CAMPUS.

AS A PREVIOUS COUNSELOR MYSELF, I REALIZED THE VALUE IN THIS AND I'M SO GLAD WE'RE PARTNERING WITH THEM TO OFFER THIS SERVICE TO OUR FAMILIES.

>> THANK YOU TRUSTEE DAVIS.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER POINTS OF PRIDE?

>> I HAVE ONE.

>> TRUSTEE, ROBINSON.

>> WHEN I STARTED TEACHING, MY SON WAS NINE MONTHS OLD AND I STRUGGLED TO FIND QUALITY CHILDCARE, ESPECIALLY NEAR MY CAMPUS.

IN CROWLEY ISD, OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF HAVE ACCESS TO THE EMPLOYEE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, WHICH IS LICENSED BY THE STATE OF TEXAS.

RECENTLY THEY HAD AN UNANNOUNCED INSPECTION.

OUR EMPLOYEES CAN TAKE PRIDE IN HEART AND KNOWING THAT THEIR CHILDREN ARE RECEIVING EXCEPTIONAL CARE BECAUSE THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER RECEIVED ZERO DEFICIENCIES DURING THAT NOVEMBER INSPECTION.

[APPLAUSE]

>> THANK YOU, TRUSTEE ROBINSON FOR SHARING.

THAT IS QUITE AN ACCOMPLISHMENT.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER POINTS OF PRIDE FROM THE BOARD?

>> I HAVE ONE.

>> VP GRASSIA.

>> [NOISE] MS. DAVIS KNOWS MY PRIDE FOR NORTH CROWLEY CONSIDERING ALL OF MY GIRLS WENT THERE, BUT I WILL SAY THAT ON TUESDAY I WAS AT A TOWN, BUT WAS INVITED VIA FACEBOOK TO WATCH CROWLEY'S WINTER PROGRAM THROUGH THE BAND.

IT WAS AMAZING, VERY GOOD.

TECHNOLOGY HAS COME A LONG WAYS IN ORDER FOR US

[00:10:01]

TO BE OUT OF THE CITY AND BE ABLE TO STILL WATCH OUR GREAT KIDS PERFORM.

CROWLEY DID A GREAT JOB.

GO CROWLEY [LAUGHTER] [APPLAUSE]

>> GO CHS, YES.

EQUAL PRIDE. ARE THERE ANY OTHER POINTS OF PRIDE?

>> I DO. I'LL PIGGYBACK OFF OF MR. GRASSIA.

I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF ATTENDING NORTH CROWLEY'S WINTER SHOW, WHICH WAS THE DANCE PERFORMANCE FROM THE DANCE STUDENTS AND ALSO THE AWARD WINNING SILVER STARS.

LET ME TELL YOU, IT WAS A VERY PROFESSIONALLY PERFORMED EXPERIENCE., I WILL SAY.

IF YOU'VE NEVER ATTENDED THEIR WINTER SHOW OR SPRING SHOW, I ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO SO.

IT REALLY IS LIKE BEING IN NEW YORK AT A PERFORMANCE.

COACH BROCK AND COACH PRICE, THEY'RE EXCELLENT ROCK STARS, AND SO THEY'RE TOUGH LEADERS, BUT LET ME TELL YOU IT SHOWS IN THE PERFORMANCE, SO VERY PROUD MOMENT.

AGAIN, THE SPRING SHOW US NEXT YEAR.

I ENCOURAGE YOU TO ATTEND.

THEY DID A PHENOMENAL JOB.

[APPLAUSE]

>> GO NORTH CROWLEY.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE MAYFIELD, YOU-ALL MAKE SURE YOU'LL SAVE THE DATE FOR THE SPRING SHOW CASE.

IS THERE ANY OTHER POINTS OF PRIDE?

>> DR. HALL.

>> YES, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

>> I DO HAVE ONE MORE POINT OF PRIDE.

I HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF ATTENDING THE, AND I KNOW I'M GOING TO GET THE NAME WRONG, THE ACADEMIC BREAKFAST THE OTHER WEEK.

IT WAS SO EXCITING TO SEE THE STUDENTS BEING RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.

WE HAD QUITE A FEW, ALL OF THEM WEREN'T THERE BUT THE BREAKFAST WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL AND THE STUDENTS WERE RECOGNIZED AND THEIR PARENTS, AND I'M REALLY GLAD WE DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO RECOGNIZE THE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS OF OUR STUDENTS.

>> WELL, THANK YOU, TRUSTEE DAVIS AND THANK YOU ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS FOR BEING PRESENT AT THESE DIFFERENT EVENTS GOING ON IN THE DISTRICT.

THERE'S SO MANY GREAT THINGS GOING ON IN CROWLEY ISD, WE COULDN'T POSSIBLY BE AT ALL OF THEM, BUT IT IS GREAT TO ALWAYS HAVE REPRESENTATION SO THAT WE CAN BRING BACK THESE TESTIMONIES HERE AT OUR BOARD MEETINGS AND LET THE COMMUNITY KNOW THE GREAT THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING.

I WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE AS A FORMER PRINCIPAL, SOMETHING THAT'S VERY NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART.

CROWLEY'S OWN ROLANDA MACKENZIE PRESENTED AT THE TEXAS ELEMENTARY PRINCIPALS AND SUPERVISORS ASSOCIATION, BETTER KNOWN AS TEPSA, GROW LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE.

ANNA ROE, WAS A 2021 RECIPIENT OF THE BRAVO OR PRESENTED BY THE TEXAS COUNCIL OF WOMEN'S SCHOOL EXECUTIVES.

THIS AWARD IS FOR EXEMPLARY PRACTITIONERS IN INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS. PLEASE SHOUT OUT TO OUR COLLEAGUES IN EDUCATION MS. ANNA ROE AND MS. ROLANDA MCKENZIE.

[APPLAUSE] CONGRATULATIONS LADIES, THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROFESSIONALISM AND YOUR EXPERTISE AND FOR SHOWING UP FOR CROWLEY ISD.

IF THERE ARE NO OTHER POINTS OF PRIDE OR BOARD CELEBRATION, WE'LL MOVE ON TO OUR CAMPUS PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS.

[5.0 Campus / Program Highlights]

AGENDA ITEM 5.1. THE CROWLEY ISD SEASON OF SERVICE AND HONOR OF OPAL LEE.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS WE'RE DEFINITELY EXCITED TO BRING FORWARD THIS NEXT RECOGNITION.

AS YOU ALL KNOW, WE ARE DEDICATED A SEASON OF SERVICE TO MS. OPAL LEE BELIEVED FOR HER SERVANT LEADERSHIP IN HER MODEL, AND SO WE HAVE ENGAGED IN SERVICE PROJECTS AND SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES ACROSS THE DISTRICT FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.

WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT THE CAMPUS TONIGHT THAT WE'D LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT.

I WILL CALL UP MS. DIGGLES UP TO INTRODUCE THE NEXT GROUP THAT'S COMING FORWARD ARE HIGHLIGHTS THE SEASON OF SERVICE OF RECOGNITION THIS WEEK COMING FROM A CROWLEY NINTH.

>> WE ARE SUPER EXCITED, MADAM PRESIDENT, DR. MCFARLAND, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, TOO WELCOME GENTLEMEN HERE FROM NORTH CROWLEY NINTH, AND I WILL YIELD THE FLOOR AS I SPEAK. [INAUDIBLE]

>> GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS MR. NICHOLAS SMITH AND I'M HONORED TO BE LEADING THE [INAUDIBLE] ORGANIZATION AT NC9.

LAST YEAR I TOOK A STEP BACK FROM COACHING.

I STILL HAD SOME COACH BURNING INSIDE OF ME AND I KNEW FOR A FACT THAT I STILL WANTED TO GIVE BACK TO YOUNG MEN.

I'M NOT REALLY SURE IF THERE WAS A NOTE ON MY BACK OR A SIGN ON MY FOREHEAD, BUT I'M GLAD THAT MS. WILLIAMS AND MR. LINDSAY CHOSE ME TO LEAD THESE YOUNG MEN.

[00:15:04]

FOR THE CAMPUS, WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE OUR NAME WAS UNIQUE AND SELF-DRIVEN FOR THE PAST, THE PRESENT, AND THE FUTURE.

WE CALL OURSELVES THE YOUNG KINGZ.

YOUNG KINGZ WITH A Z NOT A S. I'LL TELL YOU WHY.

THE K STANDS FOR KNOWLEDGE BECAUSE KNOWLEDGE IS POWER.

I STANDS FOR ILLUSTRIOUS BECAUSE ILLUSTRIOUS BRINGS LEADERSHIP.

N STANDS FOR NOBLE BECAUSE TRUE NOBILITY IS EXEMPT FROM FEAR.

G STANDS FOR A GALLANT SPIRIT BECAUSE A GALLANT SPIRIT CAN NEVER BE DEFEAT.

Z STANDS FOR ZEALOUS BECAUSE BEING ZEALOUS BRINGS CHANGE.

AS A GROUP, WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO GO ON TWO TRIP SO FAR.

WE WENT TO A YOUTH SUMMON AT THE FOUNTAINS FELLOWSHIP CHURCH AND WE WENT TO VISIT THE STUDENTS AT JUNE DAVIS ELEMENTARY.

THOSE TRIPS BROUGHT SELF-EMPOWERMENT FROM OTHER MEN IN DIFFERENT ASPECTS OF LIFE IT BROUGHT SCHOLARSHIP AND UPLIFT WITHIN OURSELVES AND THOSE THAT ARE YOUNGER.

WE WERE ABLE TO SERVE OUR YOUTH WHILE BEING LOOKED UPON AS LEADERS BY SPENDING QUALITY TIME AND READING WITH THE STUDENTS AT JUNE DAVIS ELEMENTARY.

WE WERE ABLE TO SEE WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE SOCIAL EXCELLENCE NO MATTER WHERE YOU COME FROM.

WE HAVE SO MUCH MORE IN STORE AS FAR AS TRIPS AND SERVICE PROJECTS, WE CANNOT WAIT TO REPRESENT OUR COMMUNITY AND SCHOOL IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE.

NOW, THAT'S ENOUGH TALKING FOR ME, LET'S HEAR FROM MY YOUNG MEN THEMSELVES.

>> GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS [INAUDIBLE] AND I'M THE STUDENT COUNCIL PRESIDENT FOR NORTH CROWLEY NINTH.

SERVICE IS SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL TO ME.

IT GIVES ME AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW MY GRATITUDE.

WE HAVE SOME GREAT PROJECT GOING ON UNDER OUR CAMPUS.

ONE OF THE THINGS WE HAVE DONE IS OUR STUDENT COUNCIL HAD A CANNED FOOD DRIVE FOR CROWLEY HOUSE OF HOPE.

THIS WEEK WE DELIVERED BASKETS WITH SOCKS, BLANKETS, HOLIDAY CARDS TO A LOCAL ASSISTANT LIVING CENTER.

WE HAVE SO MUCH MORE PLANNED FOR THIS SEMESTER.

FOR EXAMPLE, COLLECTING ITEMS FOR A DOG SHELTER AND A HOMELESS SHELTER.

THIS SCHOOL YEAR WE WANT TO SHOW A SENSE OF COMMUNITY, AND THIS IS OUR FOCAL POINT FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE]

>> GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS NICHOLAS ODOM AND I'M GRATEFUL TO BE PART OF THE NC9 YOUNGS KINGS.

THE YOUNG KINGS ORGANIZATION HAS PROVIDED ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW MENTALLY AS A YOUNG MAN AND HELP OTHERS ALONG THE WAY.

THE TRIP TO THE FOUNTAINS FELLOWSHIP CHRUCH PROVIDED ME WITH INFORMATION I NEEDED TO USE AS I GET OLDER.

OUR SECOND TRIP TO JUNE DAVIS GAVE US THE CHANCE TO WORK WITH STUDENTS ON PROJECTS AND WE REALLY ENJOYED READING TO THEM AS WELL.

SEEING THE SMILES ON STUDENT'S FACE BROUGHT A SENSE OF HAPPINESS TO MYSELF, AND I AM EXCITED TO SEE THE UPCOMING EVENTS THAT COUCH SMITH HAS PLANNED FOR US.

THANK YOU FOR CHOOSING ME TO BE PART OF THIS GREAT ORGANIZATION AND THANK YOU ALL FOR LISTENING.

[APPLAUSE].

>> GOOD AFTERNOON. MY NAME IS AMIR MEMIC [LAUGHTER] MY BAD.

A LITTLE NERVOUS.

I'M GOING TO START OFF BY SAYING, THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME HERE TODAY.

IT'S A HONOR. I'M VERY GRATEFUL TO BE HERE RIGHT NOW, I'M VERY HAPPY AND THANKFUL TO BE IN THE YOUNG KINGS AND SHOW MY GRATITUDE.

I'VE MADE THE SPEECH.

THE YOUNG KINGS INTRODUCED ME TO NEW PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENTS OF PEOPLE AND WAYS OF HAVING GREAT MANNERS AND ETIQUETTE.

WE HAVE TAKEN TRIPS TO PLACES THAT MADE ME HAVE A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE ON THINGS IN THE WORLD.

ONE OF THOSE PLACES WAS THE TFF CHURCH.

WHEN WE WENT TO THE CHURCH, IT WAS ONE OF KIND EXPERIENCE.

WE WERE TREATED WITH THE UTMOST RESPECT AND RECIPROCATED THAT SAME RESPECT BACK.

BUT IT WASN'T THE RESPECT THAT MADE THIS TRIP VALUABLE TO ME.

IT WAS THE LESSONS WE LEARNED FROM THE PEOPLE WHO TOOK THEIR TIME TO TALK TO US ABOUT MANHOOD AND LIFE.

THEY GAVE US WAYS TO PREPARE FOR OUR LIFE AND SHOWED US SOME OF THE TRIALS AND TRIBULATIONS THAT IT CAN BRING.

FROM THAT EXPERIENCE, I'VE LEARNED THAT TO NEVER GIVE UP, WALK MY PATH AND WORK TOWARDS WHAT I WANT IN LIFE NO MATTER WHAT OTHERS THINK OR SAY.

THE OTHER TRIP WE TOOK WAS TO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

READING TO THE KIDS WHO ATTENDED, I REALIZED THAT WE WERE ALL CHILDREN AND THIS UPLIFT AS NEEDED.

TO THINK ABOUT THEM AND LOOK AT US, IT'S AMAZING TO SEE HOW MUCH WE HAVE GROWN.

WE ARE DIFFERENT, BUT WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON, AND THAT IS TO PUSH OURSELVES TO SHOP FOR GREATNESS EVEN WHEN IT GETS TOUGH.

THAT IS WHY I LOVE IT AND I'VE SO MUCH GRATITUDE WHEN IT COMES TO BEING A PART OF THE YOUNG KINGS.

MY NAME IS AMIR AND THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR TIME AND LISTENING. [APPLAUSE]

>> I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO RECOGNIZE OUR PRINCIPAL, MISS WILLIAMS. MISS WILLIAMS, WHY DON'T YOU COME ON UP AND I'M GOING TO GIVE YOU AN OPPORTUNITY JUST TO SHARE ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO

[00:20:02]

SHARE ABOUT THIS YOUNG KINGS GROUP AND ABOUT THE SERVICE THAT THESE STUDENTS HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN.

>> YES, SIR. THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND, AND MADAM PRESIDENT, AND THIS DISTINGUISHED BOARD.

I AM COLLISIA WILLIAMS, A VERY PROUD PRINCIPAL.

I JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS GROUP OF YOUNG MEN HAS REALLY TOUCHED TO THE DEPTH OF MY SOUL.

THIS GROUP OF YOUNG MEN IS TOTALLY ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS, SO THEY ARE NOT FORCED TO BE HERE, BUT THEY TRULY HAVE A SERVANT HEARTS.

I ALONG WITH MY STAFF MEMBERS, ARE DOING EVERYTHING THAT WE CAN TO ENSURE THAT WHATEVER SERVICE PROJECTS THAT THESE GENTLEMEN SEEK TO DO, THAT WE DO THAT.

WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT.

WE WILL SEND TONS OF PICTURES.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK MR. DENNIS LINDSAY, ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL, FOR LEADING THIS GROUP, IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME TO HAVE A VERY STRONG MALE LEADING THEM ALONG WITH COACH SMITH.

THANK YOU, MR. LINDSAY AND THANK YOU BOARD.

THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE]

>> I ALSO WANT TO RECOGNIZE PASTOR TOMMY TURNER WHO CAME AND SPENT SOME TIME WITH THE BOYS.

THEY HAVE JUST DEVELOPED A GREAT RELATIONSHIP AND HE'S ONE OF OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS.

WE'RE SO GLAD TO HAVE HIM AS WELL FROM THE FOUNTAINS.

[APPLAUSE]

>> WELL BEFORE, WE DON'T WANT THESE YOUNG MEN TO GO WITHOUT GIVING THE BOARD AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE SOME COMMENTS.

ARE THERE ANY COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD?

>> IF I MAY, I'M EXTREMELY PROUD OF WHAT YOU ALL ARE DOING.

AS 9TH GRADERS, I THINK YOU'RE SETTING SUCH A HUGE EXAMPLE EVEN FOR UPPERCLASSMEN AS YOU MATRICULATE IN THE LATER YEARS GOING INTO THE 10TH, 11TH, AND 12TH GRADE.

YOU'RE SETTING SUCH GOOD EXAMPLES FOR OUR YOUNG PEOPLE AS WELL.

TO HEAR THAT YOU'RE GOING INTO THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, I JUST WANT TO CONTINUE ENCOURAGING YOU TO KEEP DOING IT.

WITH YOUR LEADERSHIP, WITH THE COACHES AND THE PRINCIPALS AND THE STAFF MEMBERS WHO ARE REALLY JUST USHERING YOU INTO WHAT WE ARE ALL HOPING THAT YOU BECOME, AND THAT'S SUCCESSFUL LEADERS IN THE COMMUNITY AND IN THE WORKPLACE AND WHATEVER YOUR HEART DESIRES.

BUT WE ARE SO VERY PROUD OF YOU AND I JUST SAY, KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

WE'RE VERY THANKFUL FOR YOU.

>> THANK YOU TRUSTEE MAYFIELD.

>> DR. HALL.

>> YES, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

>> IN ADDITION TO WHAT DR. MAYFIELD SAID, I WANT TO THANK THE PARENTS BECAUSE NONE OF THESE STUDENTS ARE DRIVING, I DON'T THINK.

[LAUGHTER] THAT MEANS THE PARENTS ARE SUPPORTING THEM AND GOT THEM HERE TONIGHT.

I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE PARENTS FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF THEIR YOUNG MEN IN THIS PROGRAM.

>> THANK YOU, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

VP GRASSIA GO AHEAD.

>> I DON'T NORMALLY SAY THANKS, BUT YOU ALL ARE VERY INSPIRING.

IT TOOK ME UNTIL I WAS ABOUT 37 TO FIGURE OUT THAT I NEED TO BE GIVING BACK, AND Y'ALL HAVE ALREADY FIGURED IT OUT SO KUDOS TO Y'ALL. GOOD JOB.

>> THANK YOU VP GRASSIA.

[APPLAUSE] I JUST WANT TO SAY A COUPLE OF THINGS.

FIRST, I WANT TO SAY THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT GREAT LEADERS LIFT WHILE THEY CLIMB.

I THINK THE YOUNG MAN SAID, WHEN HE WAS READING TO THE STUDENTS HOW HE NOTICED HOW MUCH HE HAD GROWN AND THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPPORTING OTHERS SO PLEASE CONTINUE TO DO THAT.

I DEFINITELY ECHO MY COLLEAGUES SENTIMENTS.

I ALSO WANT TO THANK THE FOUNTAINS CHURCH AND PASTOR FOR YOUR CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP AND SUPPORT.

THESE YOUNG MEN, Y'ALL ARE SHOWING, I GUESS YOU'RE MODELING WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A COMMUNITY, AND THE FOUNTAINS CHURCH CONTINUES TO DO THAT FOR CROWLEY ISD.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US AND MAKING THIS A STRONGER COMMUNITY.

ALSO I WANT TO THANK COACH SMITH AND ALSO MR. LINDSAY, FOR GIVING US THAT EXTRA TIME THAT TIME OF ABOVE AND BEYOND THAT GOES BEYOND.

I DON'T KNOW THE DUTIES ON YOUR CONTRACT.

THAT'S HARD WORK POURING INTO THESE YOUNG MEN AND AGAIN UPLIFTING OUR COMMUNITY.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

GUYS, WE WANT TO SHAKE YOUR HANDS IF WE CAN BEFORE YOU GO.

[LAUGHTER] [APPLAUSE] [BACKGROUND]

[00:25:16]

>> THE TEACHER WHO ARE INVOLVED IN THIS TOO IF THE TEACHERS WOULD COME AROUND SO WE CAN SEE YOU.

ALL TEACHERS, ALL ASSISTANT PRINCIPLES IF YOU-ALL COME AROUND AS WELL SO WE CAN APPRECIATE YOU.

[BACKGROUND] MS. DAVIS, THEY TOLD ME TO TELL YOU THEY DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOU ARE A REAL PERSON SO THEY'D LIKE TO TAKE A PICTURE WITH YOU AFTER THIS.

[LAUGHTER]

>> I WOULD BE REMISS IF I DIDN'T SAY THANK YOU ALSO TO PRINCIPAL WILLIAMS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND SUPPORT AS WELL. THANK YOU.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT, JUST ONE THING I'D JUST LIKE TO SHARE IS THAT SINCE WE KNOW WE HAVE 24 SCHOOLS AND EVERY SCHOOL HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN SERVICE, AND SO WE'VE HIGHLIGHTED A COUPLE, BUT I'VE HAD A REQUEST FROM THE SCHOOLS TO EXTEND THE SEASON OF SERVICE TO A YEAR OF SERVICE.

IF THE BOARD DECIDES TO DO THAT, WE'LL CONTINUE TO HAVE SERVICE ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

>> WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT SERVICE CONTINUE.

THAT'S A NO-BRAINER, ALL DAY.

>> ALL RIGHT, CONSIDER IT DONE.

WE'RE GOING TO EXTEND IT TO A YEAR OF SERVICE.

>> WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT YOUR PROJECT AND POLICE AND ITS INVITATIONS AND LET US KNOW HOW WE CAN SUPPORT YOUR ENDEAVORS AS WE CONTINUE OUR SEASON OF SERVICE.

THIS NOW MOVES US TO AGENDA ITEM 5.2 CROWLEY ISD GUEST READERS, DR. MCFARLAND.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE'RE DEFINITELY EXCITED TO BRING FORWARD THIS NEXT ITEM.

WHAT WE KNOW IS THAT WE HAVE JUST SO MANY ASSETS WITHIN OUR CROWLEY ISD COMMUNITY, AND THIS ITEM IS REALLY OUR ATTEMPT TO TAP INTO SOME OF THE ASSETS THAT WE HAVE WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY. MISS DAVIS.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT, DR. MCFARLAND, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, THE GUEST READER PROGRAM SUPPORTS DISTRICT GOALS ONE AND TWO BY CREATING THRIVING STUDENTS AND AN ENGAGED COMMUNITY.

CISD BELIEVES IN BALANCED LITERACY, AND THAT MEANS LISTENING, SPEAKING, READING, WRITING, COMPREHENSION, AND CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS.

WE UNDERSTAND THAT READING SKILLS AFFECT EVERY STUDENT, EVERY GRADE LEVEL, EVERY SUBJECT FOR THEIR ENTIRE LIFE.

LISTED HERE ARE OUR BELIEFS AS THEY RELATE TO READING IN CISD.

I'D LIKE TO CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO THE THIRD CHECKMARK: THE SKILL OF READING MUST BE MODELED, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG LEARNERS.

THAT IS WHAT THIS INITIATIVE IS ALL ABOUT.

TO ACTUALIZE THESE BELIEFS, CISD PARTNERED WITH GUEST EDUCATORS WHO HAVE AGREED TO HELP US MODEL THE SKILL OF READING.

OUR VOLUNTEERS ARE RETIRED EDUCATORS, TUTORS, AND OTHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO HAVE SO MUCH TO OFFER AND WHO UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY LITERACY.

WE'RE HONORED TO HAVE SEVERAL OF THEM HERE WITH US TONIGHT.

OUR VERY OWN DR. THERESA KOHLER.

[APPLAUSE] YOU'LL SEE HER THERE READING TO THE STUDENTS AT SYCAMORE ELEMENTARY.

BRENDA WHITLOCK IS HERE WITH US [APPLAUSE], AND OUR OWN TRUSTEE, JUNE DAVIS, ALONG WITH 12 OTHERS HAVE LAUNCHED THIS PROJECT AT EVERY CISD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

THESE EDUCATORS HAVE SELECTED BOOKS TO HELP US PROMOTE OUR CHARACTER PILLARS SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE THE WORK SO THAT AS STUDENTS GET OLDER IN 9TH GRADE, WE SEE THAT LEADERSHIP STAND UP WITHIN THEM.

THEY HAVE SELECTED BOOKS AND HERE'S JUST A SAMPLING OF SOME OF THE BOOKS THAT WE'LL BE READING; THE GIVING TREE, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT BOOK IT'S A FAVORITE BY SHEL SILVERSTEIN.

JUNETEENTH, A CHILDREN'S STORY BY OPAL LEE, AND EMMANUEL'S DREAM BY LAURIE ANN THOMPSON.

THEY WILL BE READING ONE BOOK PER MONTH THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND THEY'VE AGREED TO GIVE US TWO HOURS OF THEIR TIME.

INITIALLY WAS GOING TO BE VIRTUALLY, BUT THEY'VE STARTED TO COME TO CAMPUS AND WE'RE SO APPRECIATIVE OF THEM.

[00:30:03]

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK ABOUT THIS.

ANY QUESTIONS OR IF YOU'D LIKE TO HEAR FROM OUR GUEST READERS?

>> WELL, I DO WANT TO SHOUT OUT TO DR. KOHLER.

IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU.

[APPLAUSE] I'M GLAD TO SEE THAT YOU'RE STILL IN SERVICE AT CROWLEY ISD.

IT'S IN YOUR BLOOD [INAUDIBLE].

[LAUGHTER] THAT'S GREAT. WE'RE GLAD TO HAVE YOU.

THANK YOU FOR READING TO OUR STUDENTS AND CONTINUING TO BE A PART OF OUR CROWLEY ISD FAMILY.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COMMENTS?

>> YES. I'D LIKE TO JUST SAY THANK YOU IN ADDITION TO YOUR THANK YOU, MS. DIGGLES.

BUT I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO SAY, AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PLANS ARE FOR THE FUTURE WITH SOMETHING LIKE THIS, BUT I THINK WE HAVE A LOT OF POSSIBILITIES IN THE AUDIENCE TONIGHT NOW.

[LAUGHTER] SOME THAT WERE NOT A PART OF THIS GROUP THAT MAY POSSIBLY WANT TO BE A PART OF THE NEXT READING GROUP THAT WE HAVE, SO DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY.

[LAUGHTER].

>> TRUSTEE DAVIS, WHO SHOULD THEY SEE? WHO'S THEIR CONTACT?

>> DIGGLES.

>> MS. DIGGLES, THAT'S WHO YOU WANT TO SEE.

WE DEFINITELY NEED YOU.

OUR YOUNG MEN ARE READING TO OUR STUDENTS AND WE DEFINITELY NEED YOUR SUPPORT AS WELL.

THANK YOU TRUSTEE DAVIS FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND YOUR PARTICIPATION AS WELL AND YOUR RECRUITMENT EFFORTS.

[LAUGHTER]

>> WE WILL NOW MOVE TO OUR RECOGNITION ITEMS.

THANK YOU MS. CROWLEY AND THANK YOU PARENTS.

[APPLAUSE] WE'LL SEE YOU BACK NEXT TIME.

THIS BRINGS US NOW TO AGENDA ITEM 6.2, ADVANCED PLACEMENT SCHOLARS WITH DISTINCTION. DR. MCFARLAND.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS, WE'RE DEFINITELY EXCITED TO RECOGNIZE ALL OF OUR STUDENTS AND SO NOW WE'RE AT OUR ADVANCEMENT PLACEMENT SCHOLARS.

THESE STUDENTS ARE OUTSTANDING AND HAVE PERFORMED ABOVE EXPECTATION AND WE WE'RE PROUD OF THE WORK THAT THEY'VE DONE.

MR. KERSTEN IS HERE TO PRESENT THIS ITEM.

>> THANK YOU DR. MCFARLAND, MADAM PRESIDENT AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

THIS RECOGNITION ALIGNS ALSO WITH GO 1 THRIVING STUDENTS AND THESE ARE STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN THRIVING IN ADVANCED PLACEMENT COURSES AS DR. MCFARLAND MENTIONED.

AP CLASSES ARE JUST ONE OF THE MANY OPPORTUNITIES WE PROVIDE IN CROWLEY ISD FOR STUDENTS TO THRIVE WITH COLLEGE-LEVEL CLASSES AND AN OPPORTUNITY TO GET COLLEGE CREDIT FROM THOSE CLASSES.

HERE IN CROWLEY ISD WE OFFER 22 AP COURSES AND EACH SPRING THOSE STUDENTS WHO TAKE AP CLASSES HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE AP EXAMS. TONIGHT WE'RE GOING TO RECOGNIZE WHAT'S CALLED AP SCHOLARS WITH DISTINCTION.

TO GET THIS LEVEL, THE STUDENTS HAVE TO HAVE SCORED AT LEAST A 3.5 OUT OF FIVE ON ALL OF THEIR AP EXAMS TAKEN AND THEN HAVE SCORES OF THREE OR HIGHER ON FIVE OR MORE OF THESE EXAMS. GETTING A THREE ON AN AP EXAM IS A BIG DEAL, GETTING A THREE ON FIVE OR MORE IS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT.

MOST OF THE STUDENTS WHO ACCOMPLISHED THIS LAST SPRING GRADUATED LAST MAY.

IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET THE HIGHEST SCORE ON THAT MINI-TEST BUT TONIGHT WE DO HAVE ONE STUDENT WHO MADE THAT ACCOMPLISHMENT TECHNICALLY AS A JUNIOR, SHE'S NOW A SENIOR.

I'M GOING TO INVITE HER TO COME STAND ALONG THE WALL HERE, MS. ALANNA PHUNG.

MS. PHUNG, IF YOU CAN STAND OVER HERE.

[APPLAUSE] SO FAR PRIOR TO THIS YEAR, MS. PHUNG HAS TAKEN SEVEN AP CLASSES AND EXAMS AND THIS YEAR SHE'S ENROLLED IN THREE AP COURSES.

HER COLLEGE PLANS AFTER SHE GRADUATES ARE TO ATTEND UT AUSTIN AND MAJOR IN COMPUTER SCIENCE.

HER FAMILY IS HERE, MOM AND DAD AND HER OLDER SISTER WHO WE ALL RECOGNIZE AS REBECCA PHUNG.

REBECCA GRADUATED SIX YEARS AGO.

IT FEELS LIKE LAST YEAR BUT IT'S SIX YEARS AGO.

SHE ALSO WENT TO UT, MAJORED IN ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING AND NOW WORKS FOR DELL, SO A VERY SUCCESSFUL FAMILY MS. PHUNG.

THEN BEFORE WE LET HER GO, I WILL LET YOU KNOW THERE WERE A TOTAL OF EIGHT STUDENTS IN CROWLEY ISD WHO REACHED THIS LEVEL OF AP SCHOLARS WITH DISTINCTION.

WE HAVE THEIR PICTURES UP HERE ON THE SCREEN, I'M GOING TO READ THEIR NAMES REAL FAST.

DANIEL BUCKELEW FROM CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, ALSO ALANNA PHUNG FROM NORTH CROWLEY, WE HAVE RACHEL BRIDGES, NIKKI HEWETT, ANGEL MADRIGAL, JENNIFER NGUYEN, JEFFERY SHELLUM, AND ABBY VAN KEER.

LET'S HEAR FOR AP SCHOLARS WITH DISTINCTION.

[APPLAUSE] BEFORE WE LET MS. PHUNG SHAKE EVERYONE'S HAND, I WANT TO ALSO TALK ABOUT SOMETHING THAT WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT HERE IN CROWLEY ISD WITH ADVANCED ACADEMICS.

WE MENTIONED PRIOR TO THIS YEAR STUDENTS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE AP EXAMS. AP EXAMS ARE NOT CHEAP.

THERE'S BEEN DISCOUNTS FOR STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY BUT THIS YEAR, STARTING IN THE SPRING IN CROWLEY ISD, EVERY STUDENT IN AN AP CLASS WILL HAVE THEIR AP EXAM COVERED BY THE DISTRICT.

[APPLAUSE] I WANT TO TALK ABOUT SOME NUMBERS.

LAST YEAR THERE WERE 768 AP EXAMS GIVEN, THIS YEAR WE WILL BE GIVING 1,521 EXAMS, THAT'S A 98 PERCENT INCREASE.

[APPLAUSE] WE KNOW THAT'S GOING TO BREAK DOWN BARRIERS AND WALLS AND MAKE EVERYONE HAVING ACCESS TO THE AP EXAM A POTENTIAL COLLEGE CREDIT.

WE CONGRATULATE MS. PHUNG, HER FAMILY.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND ALL YOU DO FOR CROWLEY ISD.

WAY TO GO, WE CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU AT UT.

[APPLAUSE].

[00:45:01]

>> PARENTS IF YOU DON'T MIND, COULD YOU STAND SO WE COULD RECOGNIZE YOU AND ALSO BIG SISTER ALUMNI, CAN YOU STAND AS WELL.

[APPLAUSE].

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, THANK YOU.

AGENDA ITEM 6.3, CROWLEY ISD HEARTBEAT TEAM AWARD. MR. KIRSCHNER.

>> THANK YOU PRESIDENT HALL, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND DR. MCFARLAND.

THIS IS OUR FINAL HEARTBEAT AWARD FOR THIS CALENDAR YEAR AND WE HAD A LOT OF FUN SURPRISING A VERY SPECIAL TEACHER AT SYCAMORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

WATCH THIS AND LEARN ABOUT WHAT SHE DOES FOR OUR DISTRICT.

>> GOOD MORNING SYCAMORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

[NOISE] WE ARE HERE BECAUSE YOUR A TEACHER, MRS. EVA WANG HAS WON A BIG AWARD FOR ALL OF CROWLEY ISD.

[NOISE] GOOD MORNING, SYCAMORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

[APPLAUSE] WE ARE HERE BECAUSE YOUR TEACHER, MS. EVERWINE, HAS WON A BIG AWARD FOR ALL OF CROWLEY ISD.

LET'S HEAR FROM MS. EVERWINE.

>> I'M SURPRISED.

>> YOU ARE SURPRISED.

YOU ARE OUR HEARTBEAT WINNER FOR ALL OF CROWLEY ISD FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER.

WE LOVE HER AT SYCAMORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, BUT YOU KNOW WHAT, OTHER SCHOOLS AND OTHER MUSIC TEACHERS LOVE HER TOO, BECAUSE SHE HELPS THEM BE A GOOD MUSIC TEACHER.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT MS. EVERWINE DOES, SHE HELPS LEAD THE CROWLEY ISD ON HER CHOIR, DO YOU ALL KNOW ABOUT THAT? [APPLAUSE], AWESOME.

>> MS. EVERWINE FILLS IN GAPS AND IS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP BECAUSE SHE LOVES THE STUDENTS HERE AT SYCAMORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND IN CROWLEY ISD.

LET'S HEAR FROM MS. EVERWINE, THE HEARTBEAT WINNER FOR CROWLEY ISD.

[APPLAUSE]

>> JENNIE HAS BEEN [MUSIC] A MUSIC TEACHER HERE AT SYCAMORE FOR SEVEN YEARS, AND SHE BRINGS WITH HER A PASSION AND COMMITMENT NOT JUST TO MUSIC BUT TO DEVELOPING LIFE-LONG MUSICIANS.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I LOVE ABOUT HER APPROACH TO THE CLASSROOM IS THAT SHE IS NOT JUST FOCUSED ON MUSIC AND DOING THAT WITH EXCELLENCE, BUT SHE'S ALSO WANTING TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENT NEEDS.

I'VE GONE INTO HER CLASS AND SEEN HER READING A STORY THAT CONNECTS TO A SONG THAT THEY'RE TEACHING WHEN SHE KNOWS THAT THOSE READING SKILLS ARE SOMETHING THAT WE'RE FOCUSING ON AS A CAMPUS.

>> NOW TELL ME WHAT WAS THE STORY ABOUT, WHAT WAS THE END? WHAT DID YOU NOTICE?

>> HER CLASSROOM IS NOT BORING AT ALL.

SHE DOES HAVE A STRUCTURE WHICH IS WONDERFUL FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

CHILDREN, THEY ARE ENGAGED, AND THEY FEEL SEEN, AND KNOWN, AND VALUED, AND THAT'S WHAT WE LOVE ABOUT HER CLASSROOM.

>> MS. EVERWINE SHARED WHEN SHE WAS RECEIVING THE AWARD THAT SHE'S FILIPINO, SHE'S FROM THE PHILIPPINES AND HAS COME TO THE UNITED STATES AS AN IMMIGRANT, AND SHE'S FAMILIAR WITH MANY OF THE CHALLENGES.

SHE RECOGNIZES THAT SYCAMORE HAS A LARGE NUMBER OF STUDENTS WHO ARE LEARNING ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE.

JENNIE WILL OFTEN USE SPANISH LANGUAGE, OR SHE'LL TRY TO PICK UP PHRASES AND USE THOSE PHRASES IN THE INSTRUCTION SHE PROVIDES IN THE CLASSROOM.

>> [SPANISH] RIGHT, LEFT.

RIGHT, LEFT.

>> WHEN MY BOYS TALK ABOUT HER, THEY SAY THAT IT'S VERY FUN TO BE IN HER CLASS.

THEY LOOK FORWARD TO BEING IN HER CLASSROOM EVERY TIME.

>> [SPANISH]

>> WHEN THE KIDS ARE INVOLVED IN MUSIC, EVEN FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, MAKING MUSIC, DOING MUSIC, WE TEND TO FORGET THE PROBLEMS THAT WE HAVE AROUND US, EVEN FOR A BRIEF MOMENT.

IF WE CAN TAKE THEM TO A MAGICAL WORLD, AND NOT TO WORRY ABOUT ANYTHING, I THINK THAT'S SOMETHING THAT IT'S A GIFT.

>> ONE, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3.

CAN YOU DO THAT, ALTERNATE?

>> I LIKE HOW SHE IS VERY PATIENT WITH US, AND SHE TREATS EVERYBODY THE SAME WAY.

I DON'T HAVE TO BE WORRIED THAT SHE'LL TREAT ME DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHERS, AND WE CAN PLAY MANY INSTRUMENTS TOGETHER AS A CLASS.

>> KNOWING THAT MY KIDS HAVE HER AS A TEACHER MAKES ME FEEL SECURE BECAUSE THEY HAVE SOMEONE THAT'S GOING TO SEE THEM.

IT'S GOING TO LOVE THEM AND IT'S GOING TO TEACH THEM WHAT THEY NEED.

[00:50:08]

>> I BECAME THE DIRECTOR RECENTLY OF CROWLEY ON A CHOIR.

I KNOW IT'S A LOT OF WORK, AND I HAVE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS, BUT HEARING THEIR BEAUTIFUL MUSIC, HEARING THEIR VOICES, AND MAKING AN IMPACT ON THEM, IT FEELS GOOD IN MY HEART.

>> MS. EVERWINE IS VERY SPECIAL, AND WHEN YOU'RE LOOKING AT SOMEONE WHO REALLY CARES ABOUT PEOPLE IN GENERAL, SHE EPITOMIZES THAT CARE, THAT CONCERN, THAT LOVE, AND SHE'S DONE SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB THAT SHE NOW BECAME THE RIGHT CHOICE.

SHE BECAME THE ONLY CHOICE.

>> I'M PROUD OF HER AS OUR TEACHER, PROUD OF THE IMPACT SHE MAKES ON THE DISTRICT, AS WELL AS ON OUR CAMPUS ON THE STUDENTS HERE.

I'M GRATEFUL THAT SHE IS BEING CELEBRATED AT THE DISTRICT LEVEL FOR HER EFFORTS. IT'S WELL-DESERVED.

>> MS. EVERWINE, COME UP FRONT.

[APPLAUSE] ANYONE WHO HAS BEEN IN CROWLEY ISD FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME KNOWS THAT THERE'S A LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE WITH OUR HONOR CHOIR AND ALL OF OUR FINE ARTS PROGRAMS, AND WE'RE SO EXCITED THAT MS. EVERWINE IS CONTINUING THAT LEGACY OF EXCELLENCE.

CONGRATULATIONS FOR BEING THIS MONTH'S WINNER.

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU LIKE TO SAY TO THE BOARD OR THE ROOM?

>> I WAS PUT IN THE THIRD POSITION OF RIGHT NOW.

THANK YOU FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF GETTING THIS AWARD.

I MENTIONED WHEN I WAS SURPRISED THAT I GOT THE HEARTBEAT TEAM AWARD.

I TOLD THEM THAT I'M LIVING MY AMERICAN DREAM.

THIS IS MY AMERICAN DREAM, AND GOD PLACED ME HERE AT THIS MOMENT IN TIME TO MAKE AN IMPACT IN THIS SIDE OF THE WORLD.

I AM THANKFUL TO GOD AND TO ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS FOR MAKING AN IMPACT IN OUR COMMUNITY INTO THIS WORLD. [APPLAUSE]

>> WOULD YOU LIKE TO INTRODUCE YOUR FAMILY?

>> I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE TO YOU MY FAMILY, TEAM EVERWINE THE TEXAN GUY THAT MADE ME STAY IN THE USA.

[LAUGHTER] I COME TO STUDY AT SOUTHWESTERN BAPTIST THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY, I WAS TEACHING AT THE SEMINARY IN THE PHILIPPINES, BUT HE MADE ME STAY.

[LAUGHTER] TIM, AND OUR DAUGHTER CATHERINE, SHE'S A SENIOR AT CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, AND CHRISTINE, AN 8TH GRADER AT RICHARD ALLIE MIDDLE SCHOOL.

[APPLAUSE]

>> I APPRECIATE.

I'D LOVE TO SHAKE YOUR HAND.

[LAUGHTER] [APPLAUSE]

>> WELL, MS. EVERWINE, ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, WE WANT TO THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK, ESPECIALLY MYSELF AND MY FAMILY.

ALL THREE OF MY GIRLS WERE HONOR CHOIR GIRLS.

I KNOW IT'S A VERY TOUGH JOB.

IT'S A LOT OF HARD WORK.

ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO AND MUSIC DOES MAKE THE WORLD A LITTLE BETTER. THANK YOU FOR THAT.

>> MS. EVERWINE, I WANTED TO SAY, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR DISTRICT AND ALSO FOR SHARING YOUR FAMILY WITH US AS WELL.

WE KNOW THAT YOU HAVING YOUR CHILDREN IN OUR SCHOOLS ALSO MEANS A LOT TO US.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND YOUR TRUST.

CONGRATULATIONS.

MR. KIRSCHNER, DO YOU HAVE OUR FIRST SPEAKER FOR TODAY?

>> YES, MADAM PRESIDENT. OUR FIRST SPEAKER IS ANGIE HUNT. MS. HUNT?

>> MY NAME IS ANGIE HUNT. I LIVE ON SLIPPERY ROCK DRIVE.

I JUST WANTED TO START OFF THIS EVENING AND WISH EVERYBODY A BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON THAT WE'RE GETTING INTO.

THERE ARE MANY THINGS I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS EVENING.

FIRST, I WANTED TO START OFF WITH THE LAST BOARD MEETING.

WHEN YOU ALL WERE VOTING ON THE CAT AND THE TAT ELECTIONS, I WAS SURPRISED AT HOW IT DIDN'T FEEL LIKE YOU GUYS HAD DONE YOUR DUE DILIGENCE BEFORE CASTING THOSE VOTES OR NOT CASTING VOTES.

I WOULD THINK AS ELECTED OFFICIALS, MOST OF YOU, THAT YOU WOULD TAKE THOSE MATTERS A LOT MORE SERIOUSLY.

ANOTHER ISSUE I WANTED TO BRING UP, THE MAIN ONE TONIGHT FOR ME, WELL, IS OUR CHROMEBOOK SITUATION.

WE'VE PIVOTED OBVIOUSLY TO A DEVICE DRIVEN EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM.

THE ISSUE THAT WE HAVE HERE, OF COURSE, IS HAVING BROKEN CHROMEBOOKS AND BEING ABLE TO HAVE A GOOD TURNAROUND ON GETTING THOSE BACK.

BUT I ACTUALLY JUST SPOKE WITH A LADY WHO HAS A HIGH-SCHOOL STUDENT AND SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THE ACCESS THAT HER CHILDREN HAVE WITH OUR CHROMEBOOK DEVICES AND HOW IT'S PRETTY UNRESTRICTED.

SHE TOLD ME HOW SHE'S HAVING ISSUES WITH HER TEENAGE DAUGHTER TAKING NAKED PICTURES WITH OUR CHROMEBOOKS AND SENDING THEM THROUGH CHAT PROGRAMS ON OUR CHROMEBOOKS.

I FEEL LIKE THAT'S A MAJOR ISSUE AND WE NEED TO LOOK INTO THE SECURITY ON OUR CHROMEBOOKS.

I'M NOT SURE HOW THAT IS, OR PIVOT AWAY FROM USING DEVICES THAT WE CANNOT RESTRICT OUR CHILDREN'S ACCESS TO THINGS THAT WE DON'T WANT THEM TO BE ABLE TO DO.

MY CHILDREN HAVE DEVICES AT HOME, BUT AT HOME, WE HAVE IT HEAVILY RESTRICTED.

I CAN'T CONTROL WHAT MY CHILDREN DO AT SCHOOL, WHAT THEIR FRIENDS ARE SHOWING THEM TO DO AT SCHOOL WITH THEIR CHROMEBOOKS.

THAT IS ONE OF MY BIGGEST PROBLEMS RIGHT NOW AFTER SHE TOLD ME ABOUT THAT.

SHE SAID SHE WENT TO HER CAMPUS PRINCIPAL AND THE CAMPUS PRINCIPAL WASN'T VERY HELPFUL.

I TOLD HER TO COME TONIGHT.

I TOLD HER TO TELL YOU GUYS.

I TOLD HER TO ESCALATE THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT'S A MAJOR ISSUE.

THE RELIANCE ON DEVICES, I DON'T FEEL LIKE OUR CHILDREN ARE WRITING ENOUGH IN SCHOOL RIGHT NOW EITHER, WITH OUR HEAVY RELIANCE ON OUR DEVICES.

LASTLY, I WANTED TO BRING HOME THE ISSUE WITH OUR TEACHERS BEING OVERWORKED AND UNDER-SUPPORTED.

I BELIEVE THAT THE BIGGEST WAY THAT WE CAN HELP OUR TEACHERS IS TO PUSH FOR SMALLER CLASS SIZES OR HAVING TWO TEACHERS PER CLASS.

OUR TEACHERS ARE OFTEN NOT ABLE TO FOCUS ON INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION AND ARE OFTEN HAVING TO DEAL WITH BEHAVIOR ISSUES SO THEY'RE BEING DISTRACTED FROM THEIR CLASS.

I THINK THAT WE CAN HAVE A REAL-WORLD CHANGE HERE IF WE REALLY THINK ABOUT REDUCING OUR CLASS SIZES AND THAT WOULD SUPPORT OUR TEACHERS IN A WAY THAT, I DON'T KNOW.

THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN COMPARE TO A SMALLER CLASS SIZE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

>> OUR NEXT SPEAKER THIS EVENING IS DR. TARALYN GREY DOGBY. DR. DOGBY?

>> HELLO. I'M DR. TARALYN GREY DOGBY.

ADDRESS IS 6936 ROCKY CHRIS COURT, BENBROOK, TEXAS.

AS A FORMER ADMINISTRATOR OF CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL AND A COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDER WITH FAMILY ENROLLED IN YOUR CROWLEY ISD SCHOOLS, I'M GRATEFUL TO HAVE A SCHOOL BOARD SUCH AS THIS.

[01:00:04]

TO SEE HOW DISTRICT ENROLLMENT HAS INCREASINGLY IMPROVED, YOUR TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY RATING OF A B IS COMMENDABLE.

YOU HAVE NO LOW-PERFORMING CAMPUSES AND IS NOT ONLY A TESTAMENT TO THE AMAZING EDUCATORS, STUDENTS, AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS, IT ALSO EXEMPLIFIES THE AMAZING LEADERSHIP OF DR. MCFARLAND, DR. HALL, AND YOUR AMAZING CROWLEY ISD SCHOOL BOARD.

I KNOW I'M NOT ALONE IN SAYING HOW MUCH WE LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR SERVICE TO OUR STUDENTS, EDUCATORS, AND COMMUNITY.

I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE SACRIFICES THAT YOU MAKE, THE LEVERAGE LEADERSHIP YOU EMBODY, AND THE HOPE YOU GIVE US ALL THROUGHOUT THIS SEASON OF OUR LIVES.

I WISH YOU A BLESSED HOLIDAY SEASON AND A WELL-DESERVED REST DURING THIS WINTER BREAK.

THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE]

>> OUR THIRD AND FINAL SPEAKER THIS EVENING IS MISS ITALIA DE LA CRUZ. MISS DE LA CRUZ?

>> ITALIA DE LA CRUZ, 4249 SUMMER STREET LANE.

I'M GOING TO GO BACK TO THE PAST BOARD MEETING THAT WE HAD.

I KNOW THAT YOU DECIDED TO BRING EVERY MINISTER IN CROWLEY ISD, WHICH WE WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THAT BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY GOT TO TALK TO SOME OF THEM AND WE GOT TO EXPOSE EVERYTHING THAT YOU GUYS LIKE TO COME UP HERE AND SUGARCOAT WITH ALL OF THESE AWARDS AND ALL THESE OTHER STUFF THAT YOU DO.

LET ME TELL YOU A LOT OF THEM WERE VERY SURPRISED BECAUSE WHAT WE WERE SAYING WAS NOT DEAD WORDS.

THEY WERE WORDS WITH PEOPLE THAT ACTUALLY EXIST, AKA TEACHERS, THAT ARE SO AFRAID TO COME UP HERE AND SAY HOW SCARED THEY ARE TO COME UP HERE AND TALK.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.

FIRST OF ALL, WHY ARE TEACHERS AFRAID TO COME UP HERE? BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? I KNOW THE REASON WHY.

LAST YEAR I HAD TO PULL MY CHILD FROM ONE OF YOUR SCHOOLS BECAUSE HE WAS BEING BULLIED AND I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY NOTHING WAS GETTING DONE ABOUT IT.

THANK GOD, HE'S OUT OF THE DISTRICT.

BUT NOW, AFTER COMING HERE AND TALKING TO YOU GUYS AND HOW YOU JUST DECIDE TO IGNORE OUR PARENTS' CONCERNS AND YOU DECIDE TO GO TO COURT OVER SIMPLE ISSUES THAT CAN BE WORKED OUT.

YOU CAN SHAKE YOUR HEADS ALL YOU WANT.

BUT EVERYBODY IN THIS ROOM, OR NOT IN THIS ROOM PERHAPS, BUT EVERYBODY THAT'S NOT IN THIS ROOM THAT'S PROBABLY WATCHING RIGHT NOW, KNOWS THAT YOU GUYS HAVE LAWSUITS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY SIMPLY LISTENING TO THE PARENTS.

BUT RATHER THAN LISTENING TO THE PARENTS, YOU JUST DECIDE TO GO THE LEGAL WAY AND THAT'S FINE.

WE CAN GO THE LEGAL WAY.

SUGARCOATING WHAT'S GOING ON AT OUR SCHOOLS WITH THESE CHROMEBOOKS, OUR TEACHERS DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT GETTING THE SUPPORT THAT THEY WANT, THAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING.

MY QUESTION TO YOU IS, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO START GOING INTO THE SCHOOLS AND GETTING ALL THESE CONCERNS THAT OUR TEACHERS HAVE? BECAUSE COMING HERE AND HAVING ALL YOUR LITTLE AWARD FEST, THAT'S NOT GOING TO CUT IT.

MOST OF THEM ARE GOING TO LEAVE AFTER THIS YEAR.

I KNOW YOU'RE SELLING THE DISTRICT AS THE PLACE TO BE AND THE HIGHEST PAYING DISTRICT.

BUT PEOPLE KNOW.

I WANT YOU TO THINK ABOUT THAT AND HOPEFULLY, WE'LL HAVE SOMETHING POSTED ON YOUR WEBSITE AS FAR AS WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO TO FIX THE CHROMEBOOK ISSUE.

ABOUT THE B RATING, ONE OF THE SCHOOL MEMBERS MENTIONED THE B RATING.

THAT WAS VERY 2018 AND 2019 SCHOOL YEAR.

NOBODY HAS THE CURRENT B RATING BECAUSE OF COVID.

AGAIN, WHY THE LIES? STOP LYING TO THE COMMUNITY, START BEING TRANSPARENT AND START COMMUNICATING WITH PARENTS [APPLAUSE]

>> ALL RIGHT. WELL, THAT CONCLUDES THE OPEN COMMENT.

WE NOW MOVE TO OUR REPORT ITEMS,

[9.0 Report Item(s) ]

AGENDA ITEM 8.1; CONTINUE EDUCATION FOR SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS.

[INAUDIBLE].

>> MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, AS YOU ALL KNOW, EVERY YEAR WE REPORT ON OUR CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS.

MR.CALSON IS HERE TO PRESENT THIS ITEM. MR. CALSON.

>> DR. MCFARLAND, MADAM PRESIDENT, AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, AS YOU ALL KNOW, BEING A BOARD MEMBER IS MORE THAN JUST HAVING MEETINGS MULTIPLE TIMES IN A MONTH.

THERE'S THE EVENTS HAPPENING ACROSS THE DISTRICT, BUT THERE'S ALSO CONTINUING EDUCATION AND OUR TRUSTEES WORK REALLY HARD TO FIND OUT WHAT IS HAPPENING NOT ONLY IN OUR STATE BUT OUR NATION,

[01:05:03]

TO IMPROVE OUR SCHOOLS HERE IN CROWLEY ISD.

HERE IN YOUR EXHIBIT, YOU'LL SEE THE GUIDELINES ESTABLISHED BY THE TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BOARDS AND AT THE LAST REGULAR MEETING OF EACH SCHOOL YEAR, WE ARE REQUIRED TO UPDATE THE COMMUNITY AND OUR DISTRICT ON THE STATUS OF THE BOARD CONTINUE NED, AND TONIGHT WE ARE VERY EXCITED AND THANKFUL TO YOU TRUSTEES TO ANNOUNCE THAT ALL OF OUR TRUSTEES HAVE COMPLETED THEIR REQUIRED CONTINUING EDUCATION AND NONE OF OUR TRUSTEES ARE DEFICIENT AND THEY REQUIRE CONTINUING EDUCATION.

SO CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK.

THERE MUST BE A FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT READ, MADAM PRESIDENT, THERE ON THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN THAT JUST LETS OUR COMMUNITY KNOW ABOUT THAT. ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS?

>> NO, BUT WE THANK YOU FOR KEEPING UP WITH OUR HOURS, AND THIS MISS MONTAVO, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT.

THANK YOU TRUSTEES FOR MAKING SURE THAT YOU MET THOSE REQUIREMENTS AND I'M SEEKING OUT OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPAND YOUR KNOWLEDGE, AND GROW YOUR EXPERTISE, AND YOUR SERVICE, AND GOVERNANCE, AND LEADERSHIP. THANK YOU, MR. KIRSCHNER.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THIS NOW MAZES TO OUR CONSENT AGENDA,

[10.0 Consent Agenda]

ARE THERE ANY ITEMS THAT BOARD MEMBERS MIGHT HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT OR WOULD LIKE REMOVED FROM THE AGENDA?

>> DR. HALL IT'S NOT A QUESTION.

9.5 I THINK IS GREAT, BUT I'M NOT REMEMBERING ALL THE DETAILS.

IF THE HIGHLIGHTS COULD JUST BE PRESENTED AGAIN, PLEASE.

>> OF COURSE, MISS DAVIS. THANK YOU.

DR. MCFARLAND, COULD YOU PLEASE ADDRESS OUR STAFF AMPLIFY TUTORING SERVICES AGREEMENT?

>> YES, MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS.

THE AMPLIFIED TUTORING SERVICE AGREEMENT BASICALLY ALLOWS US TO PROVIDE VIRTUAL TUTORING FOR ALL THIRD GRADERS IN A DISTRICT.

THIS IS THIRD GRADE IS ALL ACROSS OUR DISTRICT IN THE AREA OF LITERACY, READING AND SO THE GRANT THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED ALLOWS US TO DO THIRD GRADERS.

WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF APPLYING FOR A SECOND ROUND OF FUNDING THAT WILL ALLOW US TO ADDRESS FOURTH, FIFTH GRADERS.

BUT THIS ITEM HERE IS SPECIFICALLY TO THIRD-GRADE STUDENTS ALL ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

VIRTUAL TUTORING THAT'S PROVIDED FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL STUDENT AT THEIR OWN LEVEL OF NEED.

>> AT EACH CAMPUS?

>> YES, MA'AM, THAT'S CORRECT. EVERY CAMPUS ALL ACROSS THE DISTRICT. YES, MA'AM.

>> OKAY. THANK YOU.

>> ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS REGARDING ANY OF OUR CONTINGENT ITEMS? TRUSTEE RAY IS THERE ANYTHING?

>> I THINK I GOT IT THOUGH, BUT SO THIS IS THE EXPENDITURE, BUT IT'S ALL GRANT FUNDS.

>> THAT IS CORRECT. THAT IS GRANTS FUNDS.

BUT THIS IS JUST THE ACTUAL RATIFICATION OF THAT.

>> ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS?

>> JUST A FOOTNOTE, DR. HALL THAT THE AMOUNT OF GRANTS THAT WE'RE RECEIVING NOW IS QUITE IMPRESSIVE.

IT IS ALLOWING US TO DO A LOT OF ADDITIONAL SUPPORTS FOR OUR STUDENTS.

THAT'S REALLY EXCITING.

>> I COMPLETELY CONCUR AND AGREE WITH THAT TRUSTEE DAVIS AND NOT TO GIVE YOU EXTRA WORK, BUT MAYBE IN THE NEW YEAR, COULD YOU COME BACK AND GIVE US A TOTAL OF HOW MANY GRANTS WE HAVE OPERATING OR JUST THE AMOUNT.

BECAUSE IT REALLY IS QUITE IMPRESSIVE TO HEAR ALL THE GREAT THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING IN OUR SCHOOLS AND THAT THEY ARE THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS AND GRANT FUNDING.

JUST PUT THAT SOMEWHERE OUT THERE.

THANK YOU. ALL RIGHT.

IF THERE ARE NO OTHER ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS OR NO ITEMS TO BE REMOVED. IS THERE A MOTION?

>> I RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.

>> THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION, TRUSTEE ROBINSON, IS THERE A SECOND?

>> SECOND.

>> THANK YOU FOR YOUR SECOND TRUSTEE DAVIS, MOVE THE VOTE, PLEASE.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

THIS NOW BRINGS US TO OUR CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ITEMS,

[11.0 Consideration and Possible Action Item (s)]

AGENDA ITEM 10.1; KIDS IN NEED FOUNDATION, DONATION OF LYSOL DISINFECTING WIPES, DR. MCFARLAND.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS, THIS NEXT ITEM, OF COURSE, IS DEALING WITH SAFETY AND IT'S AN OPPORTUNITY FOR US THAT WE'RE DEFINITELY EXCITED ABOUT.

NURSE MISS STEVEN KIBNER IS HERE TO PRESENT THIS ITEM.

>> THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING, DR. HALL, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, DR. MCFARLAND.

IT'S REALLY AN HONOR AND PRIVILEGE TO PRESENT THIS ITEM BEFORE YOU, WHICH ALIGNS WITH ALL THREE OF OUR DISTRICT GOALS.

THIS DONATION OF LYSOL WIPES TO

[01:10:01]

THE DISTRICT WAS A COLLABORATION BETWEEN LYSOL FOR HEALTHY SCHOOLS AND KIDS IN NEED FOUNDATION.

WHAT HAPPENED IS THAT LYSOL PUT OUT A PROMOTION THAT FOR EVERY PACKAGE OF LYSOL WIPES THAT WERE PURCHASED, A PACKAGE WOULD BE DONATED BACK TO A SCHOOL IN NEED.

WITH THAT, THE KIDS THAT THEY PARTNERED WITH, THE KIDS IN NEED FOUNDATION, WHO FINDS RESOURCES AND FUNDING FOR TITLE 1 SCHOOLS.

THEY HAD ACTUALLY REACHED OUT TO US, TO CROWLEY ISD, TO MEET THIS NEED, THAT OF COURSE, ONGOING NEED THAT WE HAVE WITH COVID.

NOT JUST COVID, JUST CLEANLINESS IN GENERAL WITH FLU AND ALL THESE OTHER THINGS THAT ARE GOING ON.

THEY PARTNERED WITH US AND WITH YOUR APPROVAL BOARD, AND WE WOULD RECEIVE 60,000 PACKAGES OF THE LYSOL WIPES, WHICH IS A VALUE OF OVER $287,000 WHICH IS WHY WE HAVE TO BRING THIS TO YOU TONIGHT.

DEFINITELY, WE WOULD GET THESE IN THE HANDS OF EVERY SINGLE CLASSROOM AND EVERY ONE OF OUR SCHOOLS.

ALONG WITH THE GLOVES FROM THE LAST GRANT THAT WE BROUGHT BEFORE YOU SO THAT OUR TEACHERS ARE ABLE TO DO THE CLEANING WITH THESE WIPES AND WE'RE ABLE TO KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE SO THAT THEY CAN THRIVE AND REACH EXCELLENCE IN ALL AREAS.

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

>> ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FOR NURSE [INAUDIBLE] I SAW A THUMBS UP.

IT WAS A SILENT COMMENT.

>> I DO.

>> V.P GRASSIA.

>> I JUST WANTED TO THANK EVERYONE WHO PURCHASE LYSOL STUFF [LAUGHTER] THANKS.

>> NO. WE'RE VERY GRATEFUL TO THE KIDS IN NEED FOUNDATION AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR CONTINUED LEADERSHIP NURSE [INAUDIBLE]

>> THANK YOU.

>> WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS PROPOSED $287,420.14 IN LYSOL WIPES DONATION.

IS THERE A MOTION TO ACCEPT?

>> I MOVE THAT WE ACCEPT THE DONATION OF LYSOL DISINFECTING WIPES FROM THE KIDS IN NEED FOUNDATION AS PRESENTED.

>> THANK YOU FOR A MOTION, TRUSTEE RAY, IS THERE A SECOND?

>> I'LL SECOND.

>> THANK YOU FOR YOUR SECOND, VP GRASSIA, MOVE TO VOTE PLEASE.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM 10.2, CROWLEY ISD CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION AND SPORTS COMPLEX FURNITURE REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS. DR. MCFARLAND.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, AS YOU ALL KNOW, THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AND THE SPORTS COMPLEX IS CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND WE ARE AT THE PROCESS NOW WHERE WE ARE DEALING WITH FURNITURE AND THE RFP FOR FURNITURE.

WE HAVE MISS NADIA POWERS HERE TO PRESENT THIS ITEM, MS. POWERS.

>> THANK YOU. GOOD AFTERNOON, MADAM PRESIDENT, DR. MCFARLAND, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

TODAY I'M GOING TO BE PRESENTING A CONSIDERATION AND A POSSIBLE ACTION ITEM FOR THE FURNITURE THAT WILL BE HOUSED AT THE NEW CROWLEY ISD ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, AS WELL AS THE NEW SPORTS COMPLEX CENTER.

NEXT SLIDE. I'M JUST GOING TO BRIEFLY GO OVER THE TIMELINE JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW.

WE STARTED THIS PROCESS BACK IN SEPTEMBER OF 2021.

WE DISCUSSED THE ACTUAL COMMITTEE MEMBERS, WHO WAS GOING TO BE ON THE COMMITTEE THAT RUNS FROM ADMINISTRATION STAFF, AS WELL AS THE MAINTENANCE BUILDING STAFF AND THAT'S ANYWHERE FROM SECRETARIES, ALL THE WAY UP TO CHIEF POSITIONS.

WE WORKED ON THE SPECS, WE PUT AN RFP OUT FOR ADVERTISEMENT.

ON NOVEMBER THE 19TH, THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 91 VENDORS THAT WERE INVITED TO THIS BID.

WE ALSO HAD PRE-CONFERENCE MEETING, WE HAD QUESTIONS THAT WENT OUT WITH THE Q&A FOR AN ADDENDUM.

THE BID ACTUALLY CLOSED ON DECEMBER THE 3RD.

WHEN THE BID CLOSED, WE'VE RECEIVED SEVEN RESPONSES.

WITHIN THOSE SEVEN RESPONSES, THREE OF THOSE VENDORS FALL UNDER EITHER A WBE OR A HUB.

AS YOU KNOW, WBE STANDS FOR WOMEN OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE AND THEN THE HUB IS FOR HISTORICALLY UNDERUTILIZED BUSINESSES.

IF YOU CAN RECALL, ACCORDING TO CROWLEY ISD BOARD POLICY CH LOCAL, IT STATES THAT OUR DISTRICT ENCOURAGES THOSE VENDORS THAT FALL UNDER

[01:15:02]

THOSE SPECIFIC SPECIFICATIONS TO APPLY TO BIDS THAT THEY QUALIFY FOR IN ORDER FOR POSSIBLE AWARD.

NOW, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT ACCORDING TO OUR BOARD POLICY FOR OUR GENERAL PURCHASES, CROWLEY ISD HAS A PERCENTAGE OF 20 PERCENT THAT WE'D LIKE TO AWARD THOSE VENDORS FOR THOSE PARTICULAR PRODUCTS.

WITHIN THE BID ALSO, WE WENT THOROUGHLY, WHEN I SAY WE'VE HAD MEETINGS AFTER MEETINGS, ZOOMS, I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU ALL TO THE COMMITTEE [LAUGHTER] MEMBERS.

BUT WE JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE GOT THIS RIGHT.

AFTER EVERYTHING AND WE LOOKED AT THE BIDS AND SO FORTH, WE WERE ABLE TO NARROW IT DOWN TO A SHORTLIST OF TWO VENDORS.

THOSE TWO VENDORS WERE WRG LLC AND ALSO BUSINESS INTERIORS.

NOW BOTH OF THOSE VENDORS, THEY HOLD EITHER A WBE, WOMEN OWNED BUSINESS ENTERPRISE OR A HUB STATUS.

NOW, I'D LIKE TO SAY THAT AFTER WE LOOKED AT ALL OF THE INFORMATION, WE DID OUR DUE DILIGENCE.

IT WAS REALLY HARD TO NARROW IT DOWN, IT WAS VERY CLOSE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, BUT WE DID COME TO THE CONSENSUS AS FAR AS THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING BEING AWARDED THE TOTAL PACKAGE FOR WRG, AND IT WAS IN THE AMOUNT OF $458,000 APPROXIMATELY.

NOW FOR THE SPORTS COMPLEX PACKAGE, WE CAME TO CONSENSUS AND WE DECIDED THAT THE BEST VENDOR ACCORDING TO THE CRITERIA THAT WE UTILIZED IN THIS BID, WE WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND FOR AWARD BUSINESS INTERIORS.

THE APPROXIMATE AMOUNT OF THAT IS $321,000.

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY, WHILE I'M TALKING, THERE IS A SLIDE THAT SHOWS YOU PIECES OF THE FURNITURE.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE COLORS OF THE FURNITURE, BUT MORE SO THE SPECIFICATIONS OF WHAT WAS PROPOSED BY THESE TWO VENDORS FOR SPORTS COMPLEX AND THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.

NOW, WHEN IT COMES TO LEAD TIME, I CAN TELL YOU WITH THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING, ONCE WE RECEIVE OR DECIDE ON THE COLORS, WHICH COULD TAKE ONE DAY TO ONE WEEK, THEY WILL FINALIZE THE QUOTES AND THEN WE WILL PROCESS THE PO.

ONCE THE VENDOR RECEIVES THE PO, IT WILL TAKE THEM ANYWHERE BETWEEN 10 - 14 WEEKS TO RECEIVE THE ACTUAL PRODUCT.

AFTER WRG RECEIVES THE ACTUAL PRODUCT, IT WILL TAKE THEM 16 BUSINESS DAYS TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION.

IF FOR SOME REASON OUR BUILDINGS ARE NOT READY TO PLACE THE FURNITURE IN, IT WILL BE HOUSED IN A WAREHOUSE.

THOSE VENDORS DO HAVE SUBSTANTIAL SIZES OF A WAREHOUSE AND IF ALL FAILS, WE DO HAVE A WAREHOUSE HERE IN CROWLEY ISD THAT WE CAN HOUSE IT UNTIL THE BUILDING IS READY.

GOING TO BUSINESS INTERIORS, FOR THE SPORTS COMPLEX, THE SAME THING.

IT WILL TAKE ONE DAY TO ONE WEEK TO DETERMINE THE COLORS AND ONCE WE GET THAT INFORMATION OVER TO THEM, THEN THEY WILL PROVIDE US WITH THE UPDATED QUOTE, WE WILL PUT IN THE PO.

THEN WITH BUSINESS INTERIORS, WE WERE TOLD IT WILL TAKE ANYWHERE FROM 10 - 12 WEEKS FOR THE FURNITURE, BUT IT WILL TAKE UP TO TWO WEEKS FOR THE INSTALLATION.

NOW WHAT WE WERE GIVEN BY BUSINESS INTERIORS IS THAT IF THERE IS DEBRIS IN THE BUILDING, THEN OF COURSE, THE TWO WEEK INSTALLATION TIME-FRAME WILL BE EXTENDED.

BUT IF THERE'S NO DEBRIS, THEN THEY CAN DEFINITELY DO IT WITHIN TWO FULL WEEKS.

I DO WANT TO SAY THAT WAS A LOT OF INFORMATION [INAUDIBLE], [LAUGHTER] BUT I DO WANT TO TAKE YOUR ATTENTION TO THE PICTURES THAT WE HAVE HERE ON THE SCREEN JUST TO SHOW YOU.

ALSO, AGAIN, I'VE PROVIDED ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS WITH A PACKET SO YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THE PRICING, THE CRITERIA THAT WE UTILIZE IN THIS BID TO DETERMINE WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO AWARD.

AT THIS POINT, AGAIN, ADMINISTRATION WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND WRG LLC TO THE PACKAGE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AND BUSINESS INTERIORS TO THE PACKAGE FOR THE SPORTS COMPLEX BUILDING AS PRESENTED.

I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE FOR ME AT THIS TIME.

[01:20:03]

>> THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRESENTATION MS. POWERS. TRUSTEE RAY?

>> YES. AS IT'S LOOKING, YOU MAY NOT HAVE THE ANSWER RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU, BUT I WAS LOOKING AT THE QUALIFICATION NUMBER 7, THE LONG-TERM COST TO THE DISTRICT TO REQUIRE VENDORS GOODS OR SERVICES.

IT'S JUST ODD TO ME THAT ON THE FIRST BID, WRG HAS A 10 AND BUSINESS INTERIORS IS 8.57.

ON THE SECOND ONE, WRG HAS AN 8.57 AND BUSINESS INTERIORS HAS A 10.

WHAT'S THE 8.57 AND WHY THE [INAUDIBLE]?

>> IN THE PRESENTATIONS THAT WERE PROVIDED VIA ZOOM, ONE THING THAT PUSHED WRG FORWARD WITH THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING IS THE TIME-FRAME AND THE PEOPLE THAT THEY HAVE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST US WITH THIS PROJECT.

THEY KNOW THAT WE'RE IN A TIME CONSTRAINT.

WRG IS MORE A FULL SERVICE LOGISTICS COMPANY, SO THEY HAVE EVERYONE READILY AVAILABLE AND READY TO MOVE FORWARD.

THEY ALSO HAVE THIS AWESOME PUNCH-OUT SYSTEM THAT IS ELECTRONIC.

WHEN YOU'RE WORKING WITH FURNITURE AND SO FORTH AND EQUIPMENT AND YOU'RE BUYING IT IN BULK LIKE THIS, I CAN TELL YOU THAT HAVING A GREAT PUNCH-OUT SYSTEM IN PLACE WILL HELP US ALLEVIATE ANY MISPLACED FURNITURE, IDENTIFY WHAT'S MISSING SO WE CAN GET WITH THE MANUFACTURER, MAKE SURE THAT WE CAN GET OUR PRODUCT IN A TIMELY FASHION IN ORDER TO HAVE IT PLACED WHERE IT NEEDS TO GO.

THAT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY WE RATED WRG HIGHER ON THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING THAN ON THE ACTUAL SPORTS COMPLEX.

>> ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS MR. RAY? ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FROM TRUSTEES? MS. POWERS DID YOU MENTION WHO IN THIS PROCESS, IN THIS BID REVIEW PROCESS, DID YOU MENTION WHO THE COMMITTEE MEMBERS WERE, THAT WERE PART OF THIS?

>> IT RANGED FROM SECRETARIES ALL THE WAY UP TO CHIEF POSITIONS, AND THEY WERE FROM THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING AS WELL AS THE MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT.

>> ALSO FOR MY OWN EDUCATION, IN THIS PROCESS DO WE EVER INCLUDE PEOPLE WHO ARE PART OF THE COMMITTEE THAT HELP LOOK AT, MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT, SOMEONE TELL ME THAT NAME OF THAT COMMITTEE, I DON'T SERVE ON THAT COMMITTEE BUT WHEN WE CFACT?

>> [BACKGROUND].

>> CFACT COMMITTEE. DO WE EVER ALLOW COMMITTEE MEMBERS FROM CFACT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROCESS?

>> WELL, WE CAN. WHAT HAPPENED WAS THEY ACTUALLY WORKED ON WHO WAS GOING TO BE ON THE COMMITTEE OR THROWING OUT NAMES, AND WE DEFINITELY WANTED TO GET ALL PERSPECTIVES, SO THAT WAS ONE REASON THAT WE STARTED OFF LOOKING AT SECRETARIES, WE LOOKED AT DIRECTORS, JUST GOING UP THE CHAIN.

BUT WE CAN ALWAYS LOOK IN THE FEATURE TO ADD ADDITIONAL PEOPLE, BUT WE DO WANT DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT THIS IS A BIG DEAL AND WE WANT TO MAKE SURE WE GET IT RIGHT.

>> I APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE.

THANK YOU FOR THE PACKET THAT YOU PROVIDED THIS EVENING.

SOME OF MY QUESTIONS WERE JUST BECAUSE THE INFORMATION IS HERE AND I DON'T HAVE A CHANCE TO REVIEW IT.

>> THAT'S OKAY.

>> WITH REGARDS TO THE CRITERIA OF THE MOST HIGHLY QUALIFIED PROVIDER, WHEN IT LOOKS AT AREAS, LIKE YOU MENTIONED THERE'S EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE, I'M NOT FAMILIAR WITH THESE ENTITIES BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THEY'RE NOT THE MOST SUITABLE FOR [INAUDIBLE].

THAT'S NOT MY QUESTION.

MY QUESTION IS ARE REFERENCES A PART OF THAT EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS IN OTHER DISTRICTS?

>> YES.

>> TESTIMONIALS ARE PART OF THAT PROCESS AS WELL?

>> ABSOLUTELY, IT IS.

I DID CHECK REFERENCES.

I CAN TELL YOU WHAT WRG, ONE SCHOOL DISTRICT, IT'S A SMALLER DISTRICT THAT'S BLOOMING JUST LIKE CROWLEY ISD AND THEY GAVE THEM NOTHING BUT HIGH RATINGS.

THEY SAID IF IT WASN'T FOR WRG LLC, THEY DON'T KNOW IF THEY WOULD'VE BEEN ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH THAT PROJECT.

THEY SPOKE VERY HIGHLY OF THEM AND THE SAME THING FOR BUSINESS INTERIORS.

IN THE PAST, CROWLEY HAS DONE BUSINESS WITH BUSINESS INTERIORS.

I BELIEVE IT WAS IN 2016, 2017, BUT WE HAVE UTILIZED THAT VENDOR IN THE PAST.

>> MY LAST QUESTION, JUST DRAWING ON MY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN DOING LARGE PURCHASES LIKE THIS FOR SCHOOLS.

A LOT OF THE TIME THE VENDORS OFFER THE SAME PRODUCT LINES, THE DIFFERENT PRICING.

[01:25:03]

THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT AND THE BRANDS OF THE PRODUCT; DO WE FEEL THAT WE'RE GETTING GOOD PRODUCTS?

>> ABSOLUTELY. WITH WRG, THEY ACTUALLY BOUGHT OUT ANOTHER BRAND THAT IS SIMILAR TO THE HERMAN MILLER, AND SO IT WILL BE ABLE TO LOOK VERY SIMILAR TO WHAT THEY'RE OFFERING CROWLEY ISD AS FAR AS THE OPEN WORKSTATIONS AND ALSO THE DESK THAT ARE GOING TO BE IN THE PRIVATE OFFICES.

THAT WAS TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION.

IN THE BID, IT WAS 109 LINE ITEMS, SO WE GAVE SPECS FOR WHAT WE WOULD LIKE PRICING ON, AND WE ALSO ALLOWED THOSE VENDORS THAT RESPONDED TO PROVIDE US WITH ALTERNATIVES IF THEY FELT THAT THERE WAS A BETTER BRAND OR BETTER QUALITY OR THAT'S LESS THAN THE ONES THAT WE POINTED OUT.

>> MY LAST QUESTION, I PROMISE.

>> NO, YOU'RE GOOD.

>> IT MENTIONED IN YOUR PRESENTATION THAT YOU DID VISIT SHOWROOMS AND THAT WE VISITED THE SHOWROOMS, DID WE VISIT ALL OF THE [OVERLAPPING] PLACES OR JUST THE [INAUDIBLE].

>> WE VISITED ONE, BECAUSE AT THE TIME WRG DID NOT HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY OR THE CAPACITY FOR US TO DO THAT.

WELL, ACTUALLY WAS TWO.

WE WENT TO BUSINESS INTERIORS THAT THEY HAVE ONE IN CARROLLTON, TEXAS AND THEY HAVE ONE IN IRVING, TEXAS.

LIKE YOU SAID, A LOT OF THESE VENDORS HAVE THE SAME TYPE OF FURNITURE OR MANUFACTURER OF THE FURNITURE, SO IT'S VERY SIMILAR BUT WE DID VISIT ONE.

BUT NOT ONLY DID WE VISIT FOR THE SHOWROOM FOR BUSINESS INTERIORS, WE DID AT THE LAST MINUTE HAVE ZOOM MEETINGS WITH BOTH VENDORS BECAUSE IT WAS SO CLOSE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING.

YOU CAN LOOK ON THE SCORECARD AND IT WAS JUST OFF BY JUST A LITTLE BIT.

>> WELL, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I'M SORRY, I HAD SO MANY QUESTIONS FOR YOU.

>> NO, YOU'RE FINE. I'M PREPARED. [LAUGHTER]

>> ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FROM THE BOARD? I APOLOGIZE THOUGH. IF THERE'S NO OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS, IS THERE A MOTION?

>> YES. I MOVE THAT WE APPROVE THE SELECTION OF WRG LLC FOR THE NEW CENTRAL ADMINISTRATION FURNITURE PACKAGE, AND BUSINESS INTERIORS FOR THE NEW SPORTS COMPLEX FURNITURE PACKAGE AS PRESENTED.

>> THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION.

TRUSTEE MAYFIELD, IS THERE A SECOND?

>> I'LL SECOND.

>> THANK YOU FOR YOUR SECOND.

TRUSTEE ROBINSON, MOVE TO VOTE PLEASE.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

>> THANK YOU.

>> THANK YOU, [OVERLAPPING] MS. PEREZ.

>> MS. PEREZ, I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU AND EVERYONE WHO SERVED ON THE COMMITTEES AND ALL OF THE HARD WORK THAT Y'ALL HAVE DONE ON THIS PROJECT.

I KNOW IT'S LOOKING AT PRETTY MUCH THE SAME COLORS AND JUST A DIFFERENT FASHION AS TEDIOUS. [LAUGHTER]

>> THANK YOU.

>> GOOD JOB. THANKS.

>>I ALSO WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO BOARD POLICY CH LOCAL AND RECOGNIZING THE DESIRES OF THE BOARD WITH REGARD TO OUR PURCHASING AND PROCUREMENT.

THANK YOU FOR THAT. THIS NOW MOVES US TO FUTURE ACTION ITEMS,

[12.0 Future Action Item(s) ]

AGENDA ITEM 11.1 2022, 2023 SCHOOL CALENDAR. DR. MCFARLAND.

>> MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, IT IS AMAZING THAT WE ARE HERE TONIGHT TALKING ABOUT THE SCHOOL CALENDAR FOR THE '22, '23 SCHOOL YEAR, BUT WE ARE HERE, IT IS THAT TIME.

MR. KUSHNER IS PREPARED TO ADDRESS THIS ITEM. MR. KUSHNER.

>> THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS ON THE BOARD.

'22, '23 IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER AND SO THAT PROCESS IS STARTING.

THERE'S INFORMATION IN HERE JUST REMINDING YOU WHO'S ALL INVOLVED; EVERYONE FROM THE EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM, OUR DISTRICT WIDE EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT COUNCIL, WHICH IS MADE UP OF CLASSROOM TEACHERS AND OTHER LEADERS FROM ACROSS THE DISTRICT, AND ALSO OUR PRINCIPLES, AND SO WE'RE GOING TO BE LOOKING AT DIFFERENT DRAFTS OPTIONS AND BRINGING THAT BACK TO THE BOARD AT A FUTURE MEETING AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE '22 CALENDAR YEAR.

JUST THERE IN YOUR AGENDA, WE DON'T HAVE A DRAFT YET READY, BUT WE DO HAVE THIS YEAR'S CURRENT CALENDAR FOR YOUR REFERENCE, JUST TO SEE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW WE DID THE CALENDAR THIS YEAR OR ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROCESS.

AS WE'RE DEVELOPING THE CALENDAR, WE'LL ALSO BE LOOKING AT OTHER CALENDARS, WHETHER FOR OUR EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAM TO ADD C MODEL THAT DR.

HARRIS WILLIAMS WILL BE SPEAKING ABOUT IN A MOMENT TO EXTEND THE LEARNING DAYS AND OTHER THINGS LIKE THAT.

THERE'LL BE MANY CALENDARS WE'RE LOOKING AT, BUT WE'RE GOING TO START WITH THIS BASE CALENDAR FOR THE REGULAR SCHOOL YEAR.

[01:30:05]

>> ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS REGARDING THAT TRUSTEE RIGHT?

>> WHAT IS THE REASON AGAIN, LIKE ON NOVEMBER 5TH, WE HAVE A HOLIDAY, BUT HALLOWEEN FOLLOWS ON SUNDAY, THE 31ST AND IT JUST SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD MAKE MORE SENSE TO DO THAT ON MONDAY AND LET KIDS GO OUT ON HALLOWEEN? [OVERLAPPING] WHAT'S THE REASON FOR THAT?

>> MR. HANDY, DO YOU MIND OPENING THAT CALENDAR SO WE CAN SEE WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT HERE?

>> I BELIEVE WHEN WE ORIGINALLY SAID THAT NOVEMBER DATE, IT HAD TO DO WITH THE TESTING AND HAVING THE ADDITIONAL TIME ON THAT 5TH FOR OUR TEACHER PREPARING FOR GRADES AND ALL THAT, BUT I'M NOT REAL SURE.

WE CAN GET THAT ANSWER TO YOU, BUT I'M NOT SURE.

>> JUST SCROLL DOWN MR. HANDY, IT'LL SHOW.

I BELIEVE THAT IT ALSO ALIGNED IT WITH THE END OF THE SIX WEEK.

>> SIX WEEKS.

>> YES, SIR. SIX WEEKS ENDED ON THE FOURTH. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS?

>> ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS?

>> I DO HAVE A QUESTION.

I KNOW A FEW YEARS AGO WE ASKED ABOUT THE EARLY RELEASE DAYS.

HAS THERE BEEN ANY FEEDBACK FROM PARENTS REGARDING EARLY RELEASE DAYS THAT IT NEGATIVELY IMPACTS THEM OR WHAT HAS THAT BEEN?

>>WE'LL STILL GET THE INFORMATION, GATHER THAT INFORMATION.

WHEN WE TALK ABOUT THE NEXT CALENDAR, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE LOOK AT HAVING A STANDARD CALENDAR AND THEN A DEVIATION FROM THE STANDARD CALENDAR, THAT INFORMATION WILL BE SURVEYING PARENTS, KIDS, TEACHERS, AND ALL ABOUT DIFFERENT CALENDAR AS WE SEE.

WE DON'T HAVE THAT INFORMATION TONIGHT, BUT WE'LL GET THAT.

>> THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM, SO WE'LL SEE THIS INFORMATION AGAIN.

IF THE BOARD HAS ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS, WE CAN DIRECT THEM TO DR. MCFARLAND AND STAFF OR DR. MCFARLAND.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS TONIGHT FOR MR. KUSHNER?

>> I DO HAVE ONE MORE QUESTION.

>> GO AHEAD, TRUSTEE RIGHT.

>> HOW MANY INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS ARE ON THIS CALENDAR?

>> I WOULD NEED TO GO BACK AND DOUBLE CHECK.

I BELIEVE IT'S RIGHT AROUND 175.

ALSO THE OTHER THING WE TALLY FOR THE STATE IS THE INSTRUCTIONAL MINUTES AND THE MINIMUM IS 75,600.

WE DEFINITELY EXCEEDED ALL THE LEVELS, BUT IT'S A LITTLE DIFFERENT FOR EACH LEVEL BECAUSE THE ELEMENTARY DAY COMPARED TO THE MIDDLE SCHOOL DAY COMPARED TO THE HIGH SCHOOL DAY IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT.

BUT I'LL GO THROUGH AND CONFIRM IT HAS THE RIGHT NUMBER ON THOSE INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS AND BE SURE TO SHARE THAT NEXT TIME WE'RE TOGETHER.

>> THANK YOU, MR. KUSHNER. ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM AND WE WILL SEE AGAIN.

AGAIN, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS THAT COME UP WITH TO START THEM TO DR. MCFARLAND.

AGENDA ITEM 11.2 2022, 2023, ADDITIONAL DAYS SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR.

>> GOOD EVENING, MADAM PRESIDENT, DR. MCFARLAND, AND BOARD MEMBERS.

THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM IN REGARDS TO THE ADDITIONAL DAYS FOR AZ.

WHAT THIS CALENDAR DOES IS ADD 30 ADDITIONAL DAYS TO THE SCHOOL YEAR, BRINGING IT TO A TOTAL OF 210.

CURRENTLY, WE HAVE THIS MODEL REPRESENTED AT DAVID WALKER AS A 210 DAY SCHOOL, SO 30 ADDITIONAL DAYS.

AS A PART OF THIS, IT WILL BE SUBMITTED AND IMPROVED BY TEA THAT NEEDS TO BE SUBMITTED IN MARCH.

ONCE WE HAVE A MOCK CALENDAR FOR YOUR APPROVAL BASE, ADDITIONAL DAYS MODEL, COUNTERED IT, REPLICATES, AND HAVE SIMILAR HOLIDAY AND BREAKS AND SAME.

AT THIS POINT IN TIME, WE WILL HAVE THAT IN A FUTURE MEETING.

>> THANK YOU, DR. WILLIAMS. WHEN YOU BRING BACK THAT CALENDAR, WILL THAT BE NEXT MONTH FOR ACTION OR WE'LL BE CONSIDERING IT AGAIN NEXT MONTH?

>> WE WILL BE CONSIDERING IT FOR NEXT MONTH.

WILL NOT HAVE ACTION UNTIL PROBABLY FEBRUARY, WHAT WE WANT TONIGHT REALLY IS BETWEEN NOW AND THE JANUARY MEETING GET FEEDBACK FROM YOU ON WHAT YOU WANT US TO LOOK AT AS FAR AS OUR STANDARD CALENDAR, AS WELL AS FAR AS OUR ADDITIONAL DAYS CALENDAR.

WE DIDN'T PLAN TO SURVEY OUR PARENTS, TEACHERS, AND EVERYONE IN JANUARY AND BRING BACK A RECOMMENDATION FOR THE STANDARD CALENDAR IN FEBRUARY AND BEING THE ADDITIONAL DAYS CALENDAR AFTER THAT.

>> THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR DR. WILLIAMS? WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING BACK FROM YOU NEXT MONTH.

>> [OVERLAPPING] THANK YOU.

>> THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM 11.3, MAY 7,2022, BOARD OF TRUSTEE ELECTIONS, ORDER OF ELECTION. MR. KUSHNER?
