AT THIS TIME, WE'LL MOVE TO OUR AGENDA ITEM 3.0 FOR OUR BOARD CELEBRATIONS.

[3.0 Celebrations / Board Points of Pride]

ARE THERE ANY TRUSTEES THAT HAVE ANYTHING THEY WOULD LIKE TO CELEBRATE THIS EVENING? I WOULD IF DR.

HALL, I HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING OR SPEAKING TO A GROUP OF YOUNG LADIES AT NORTH CROWLEY NINTH GRADE CENTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, AND THEY ARE THE PANTHER PEARLS OF NORTH CROWLEY NINTH.

AND I'M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE DOING, AND IF YOU GIVE ME A SECOND, THE PEARLS SEEK TO ENCOURAGE, UPLIFT AND CULTIVATE OUR YOUNG LADIES AS THEY BEGIN TO MATURE AND MATRICULATE THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL AND THE PEARLS.

IT'S PEARLS PURPOSEFUL, EMPOWERED, ACADEMIC, RESPECTFUL LEADERS AND SAMARITANS.

AND JUST ON TODAY, THOSE YOUNG LADIES SERVED THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED TWELVE MEALS TO FAMILIES IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH, TARRANT COUNTY THROUGH THEIR SERVICE PROJECT.

TODAY, WITH THE FORT WORTH OR THE TARRANT COUNTY FOOD BANK.

SO THINK THAT DESERVES A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR THEM [APPLAUSE] AND THEIR GREAT WORK.

THEIR PRINCIPAL, OF COURSE, IS MS. COLECIA WILLIAMS AND THE FOUNDER OF THE PANTHER PEARLS IS MS.

[00:05:04]

APRIL CARTER BROWN.

SO THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU, TRUSTEE MAYFIELD.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CELEBRATIONS THIS EVENING FROM BOARD MEMBERS? I HAVE ONE.

TRUSTEE DAVIS.

AS WE KNOW OUR DISTRICT MOTTO FOR THE 21 22 SCHOOL YEAR IS ACT LIKE A FAMILY WORK LIKE A TEAM.

ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

IN EVERY DEPARTMENT, STAFF MEMBERS HAVE STEPPED UP TO SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF POSITION.

CROWLEY STAFF IS WORKING WITH H.R.

TO FILL SUBSTITUTE VACANCIES.

WE ARE ALL HANDS ON DECK FOR ARRIVAL, DISMISSAL AND LAUNCH AND LUNCH TO ENSURE STUDENT LEARNING CAN CONTINUE.

AND I THINK TO ADD TO THAT, I WAS READING A LETTER FROM DR.

MCFARLAND EARLIER IN THE WEEK AND HE WAS TALKING ABOUT HOW HE WAS TEACHING AN ALGEBRA CLASS.

WAS IT ALGEBRA? AND HIS EXPERIENCE WITH THAT.

SO IT'S VERY ENCOURAGING TO KNOW THAT OUR STAFF, NO MATTER WHAT POSITION, IS STEPPING UP TO HELP OUR CAMPUSES.

WE ALL KNOW IT'S A SHORTAGE OF SUBS, AND I JUST WANT TO APPLAUD THE STAFF FOR CHIPPING IN AND DOING WHAT IS NECESSARY TO ENSURE OUR STUDENTS GET THEIR NEEDS MET AS FAR AS THEIR ACADEMICS ARE CONCERNED.

AND THEN I HAVE ONE MORE.

AT THE LAST MEETING, I THINK I TALKED ABOUT, I KNOW I TALKED ABOUT THE FOOD BANK, THE TARRANT FOOD BANK THAT WE PARTICIPATE WITH WELL THIS MONTH OR LAST WEEK AT THE DISTRIBUTION, THE NORTH CROWLEY NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS AND THE BLACK STUDENT UNION GROUP SHOWED UP AND THEY SHOWED UP IN GREAT NUMBERS.

AND I KNOW MS. POLK WAS A LITTLE CONCERNED THAT MAY NOT HAVE ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS TO DO THE WORK THAT DAY, BUT THEY SHOWED UP AND I WANT TO APPLAUD THEM AND THEIR SPONSOR FOR SHOWING UP.

AND THEY WEREN'T GOOFING OFF.

I MEAN, THEY WERE REALLY GETTING THE JOB DONE, SO I WANT TO THANK THEM AND APPLAUD THEM FOR COMING AND DOING THAT.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CELEBRATIONS THIS EVENING? YEAH.

FIRST, I'D LIKE TO CONGRATULATE COACH CATES AND THE NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL SWIM TEAM FOR ADVANCING THE REGIONALS.

THAT'S THEY JUST WENT THIS LAST WEEKEND, I THINK, AND THEY GO IN FEBRUARY 4TH AND 5TH TO MANSFIELD.

ALL [INAUDIBLE] RELAYS ARE MOVING ON TO REGIONALS.

THE BOYS 200 FREE RELAY PLACED THIRD OVERALL AND RYAN WONG [INAUDIBLE] BEAT A SCHOOL RECORD IN THE 100 BREASTSTROKE THAT WAS SET IN 2000.

SO I WANT TO CONGRATULATE THEM.

[APPLAUSE] AND AND THEN JUST TO ECHO THE SENTIMENTS THAT JUNE MADE, I MEAN, THIS HAS BEEN THE LAST THREE WEEKS.

I KNOW FOR YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN A LOT.

SO I MEAN, THIS IS SCHOOL BOARD APPRECIATION MONTH AND YOU KNOW, YOU SEE ALL THE STUFF, BUT IT'S OBVIOUSLY, YOU KNOW, THE TEACHERS, THE ADMINISTRATORS, YOU KNOW, DOWN TO THE SUPERINTENDENT, DOWN IN THE MATH CLASS.

IT'S BEEN A PRETTY CRAZY MONTH FOR YOU GUYS, AND YOU'RE DEFINITELY THE ONES THAT DESERVE DESERVE THE RECOGNITION.

AND YOU KNOW, AND THE SUPERINTENDENT FOR, YOU KNOW, MAKING THE TOUGH DECISIONS THAT HE NEEDED TO MAKE TO TRY AND STEM THE THE FLOOD OF CASES AND AND BRING HAVE MORE TEACHERS IN THE CLASSROOMS AND MORE STUDENTS IN THE CLASSROOM.

SO I APPRECIATE HIM FOR TAKING HAVE THE COURAGE TO DO THAT AND FOR STEPPING UP TO DO THAT.

AND THAT'S ALL.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU TRUSTEE RAY.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER TRUSTEE ROBINSON? YES, MINE IS REGARDING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

SO WE OFTEN SPEAK OF STUDENTS IN TERMS OF THE ACADEMIC NEEDS, BUT CHILDREN ARE CARRYING SO MUCH WEIGHT AND SO MANY THINGS THAT WE MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT.

AND SO EDUCATORS ARE THERE NOT ONLY TO MEET THEIR ACADEMIC NEEDS, BUT THEIR SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL, MENTAL NEEDS AS WELL.

SO ON JANUARY 5TH, OVER 14 HUNDRED CROWLEY ISD EDUCATORS LOGGED ON VIRTUALLY TO PREPARE THEMSELVES FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER.

[00:10:02]

THEY MET WITH SUSAN MALONE, THE CLINICAL DIRECTOR OF MHMR, AND SHE LED A SESSION ON TRAUMA INFORMED CARE FOR EDUCATORS AND HOW TRAUMA IMPACTS THE BRAIN SO THAT OUR EDUCATORS CAN MORE PURPOSEFULLY IMPACT STUDENTS AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY'RE THERE FOR THEM.

AGAIN, NOT ONLY ACADEMICALLY BUT TO MEET THEIR SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL NEEDS AS WELL.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU, TRUSTEE ROBINSON.

I'M GOING TO WRAP UP OUR BOARD CELEBRATIONS.

OH, YOU HAVE ONE? I'M SORRY.

TRUSTEE GRASSIA.

YES, MA'AM.

SO I KNOW THAT Y'ALL KNOW THAT I'M A HUGE FINE ARTS PERSON, AND I AM EXTREMELY EXCITED ABOUT THE CISD FINE ART SHOWCASE, WHICH IS HAPPENING JANUARY TO 29TH FROM SIX TO EIGHT.

AND NOT ONLY WILL IT HAVE THIS CHS DRUM LINE, THE NORTH CHS DRUM LINE, THE DRILL TEAMS, COLOR GUARD.

I'M REALLY HOPING THAT THIS.

GETS BIGGER, AND NEXT YEAR WHEN WE HAVE A HUGE STADIUM, WE CAN ALSO HAVE A SPRING AND FALL SHOWCASE WITH THE MARCHING BANDS, AND WE ALL COME TOGETHER TO SEE EVERYONE.

I'M REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS, SO IF YOU CAN COME OUT, PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT BOTH OF THESE FINE, GREAT, FINE FINE ARTS PROGRAMS AND IT'S AT CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

IS THAT CORRECT MR. KIRCHNER? OK.

SO PLEASE COME OUT AND JOIN US.

[APPLAUSE] OKAY, SO I AM NOW GOING TO WRAP UP OUR BOARD CELEBRATIONS WITH A SHOUT OUT TO HF STEVENS.

HF STEVENS HOSTED THEIR EAGLE SHOWCASE ON JANUARY 11, AND THE EAGLE SHOWCASE IS AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING WHERE THEY BROUGHT COURSE SELECTIONS AND THE COURSE SELECTION PROCESS ALIVE FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

SO THE MEETING BEGAN WITH AN INFORMATION SESSION AND THEN PARENTS AND STUDENTS WERE PERMITTED TO GO INTO THE GYM, WHERE THEY WERE ABLE TO HEAR DETAILS ABOUT THE DIFFERENT COURSES, AND ALSO FROM SOME OF OUR PARTNERS WHO PROVIDE WRAPAROUND SERVICES LIKE GIRLS INC, COMMUNITY AND SCHOOLS, THE CLUBS, THE STUDENTS, STUDENT CLUBS.

AND THEY ALSO RECEIVE INFORMATION AND ARTIFACTS FROM TEACHERS THAT COULD ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE COURSES THAT THEY'RE SELECTING, AND SO THE PARENTS COULD UNDERSTAND WHAT THEIR STUDENTS ARE CHOOSING AND SO THAT STUDENTS CAN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION.

SO I WANT TO SHOUT OUT THE HF STEVENS SCHOOL AND THEIR PRINCIPAL, PRINCIPAL BUCKHALTON FOR THEIR INNOVATION, CREATIVITY AND THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL TO MAKE SURE THAT OUR PARENTS AND STUDENTS ARE INFORMED ABOUT THE DECISIONS THEY'RE MAKING THAT WILL IMPACT THEIR HIGH SCHOOL CAREERS AS THEY MOVE FORWARD.

SO GREAT JOB, YOU GUYS.

[APPLAUSE] IF THERE ARE NO OTHER BOARD CELEBRATIONS, WE'RE GOING TO MOVE TO OUR AGENDA ITEM FOUR POINT ONE.

[4.0 Recognition Item(s)]

OUR RECOGNITION ITEMS. SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH MR. KIRCHNER.

MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND DR.

MCFARLAND.

OUR FIRST RECOGNITION TONIGHT ALIGNS WITH ALL THREE GOALS OF OUR VISION 2025 STRATEGIC PLAN.

THRIVING STUDENTS ENGAGE COMMUNITY AND EMPOWERED STAFF BECAUSE THOSE ARE OUR GOALS AND THEY'RE BECOMING A REALITY BECAUSE OF YOUR LEADERSHIP.

AS YOU ALL KNOW, CROWLEY ISD JOINS DISTRICTS ACROSS THE STATE EVERY JANUARY IN CELEBRATING SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION MONTH, AND THIS YEAR'S STATEWIDE THEME IS PERFECT.

IT'S CALLED RISING ABOVE, AND IT'S A GREAT WAY FOR US TO CELEBRATE HOW YOU ALL, AS TRUSTEES ARE RISING ABOVE THE CHALLENGES AND REMAINING FOCUSED ON ALL STUDENTS AND TAKING OUR DISTRICT TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

YOU KNOW, THIS MONTH AND EVERY MONTH, WE WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND NOT ALL OF OUR SIXTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND THREE STUDENTS, OUR TWO THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY EIGHT EMPLOYEES AND TENS OF THOUSANDS OF OTHERS IN OUR COMMUNITY ARE ABLE TO BE HERE TONIGHT TO PERSONALLY THANK YOU.

BUT WE DO HAVE WITH US THIS EVENING OUR VERY OWN TARRANT COUNTY COMMISSIONER ROY CHARLES BROOKS.

COMMISSIONER BROOKS HAD A FEW COMMENTS THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH THE BOARD DURING APPRECIATION MONTH, COMMISSIONER BROOKS.

THANK YOU, MR. KIRCHNER, AND GOOD EVENING TO BOARD PRESIDENT DR.

HALL.

FORMER BOARD PRESIDENT MS. DAVIS, THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, FRIENDS OF MINE, ALL.

AND DR. MCFARLAND, THANK YOU FOR YOUR OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP.

OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT AND FOR ALWAYS PUTTING THE NEEDS OF THE CHILDREN FIRST.

[00:15:08]

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DEDICATION TO KEEP THESE CHILDREN IN THE CLASSROOM.

LEARNING WITH TEACHERS WHOM THEY HAVE COME TO KNOW AND LOVE.

I SAW AN INTERVIEW EARLIER THIS AFTERNOON WITH THE SURGEON GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES.

AND HE STATED THAT.

THERE ARE SOME 700 SCHOOLS ACROSS THIS NATION THAT ARE CLOSED TODAY.

THANKFULLY, NOT ONE OF THOSE SCHOOLS IS IN THE CROWLEY ISD, AND THIS IS DUE TO YOUR LEADERSHIP AND YOUR COMMITMENT TO MEET THE NEEDS.

OF THE CHILDREN THAT WE SERVE.

AND EVEN THOUGH.

OUR GOVERNOR HAS TIED THE HANDS OF LOCAL UNITS OF GOVERNMENT IN MANAGING THE COVID PANDEMIC.

I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR STANDING UP.

AND SAYING THAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO THE THINGS THAT ARE NECESSARY TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN.

OUR FACULTY AND THE REST OF OUR STAFFS SAFE WHILE THEY ARE.

IN THE SCHOOLS, TEACHING AND LEARNING THAT TAKES A GREAT DEAL OF COURAGE.

AND MASK ORDER THAT YOU PUT IN PLACE, DR.

MCFARLAND IS INCREDIBLY COURAGEOUS.

BUT IT'S THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

AND MAYBE IN TWO OR THREE WEEKS, WE WE'LL BE PAST THIS CURRENT COVID SURGE AND CAN GO BACK TO A MORE NORMAL.

SEEMING APPROACH TO TEACHING AND LEARNING, THERE'S ONE MORE THING I WANT TO CONGRATULATE YOU ABOUT TODAY.

AND THAT IS FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP IN EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

CROWLEY ISD WAS THE FIRST SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE STATE OF TEXAS TO INCLUDE AN EARLY HEAD START PROGRAM ON AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAMPUS.

THIS PARTNERSHIP MAKES ALL THE SENSE IN THE WORLD IN TERMS OF GIVING OUR YOUNGEST CHILDREN THE TOOLS THAT THEY NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL AS THEY MOVE FROM EARLY HEAD START TO PRE-K, TO KINDERGARTEN AND ON INTO THEIR ACADEMIC CAREERS.

I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU NOW HAVE TWO SUCH EARLY LEARNING CENTERS.

ON CAMPUSES IN THE CROWLEY ISD, AND THESE ARE MODELS FOR ALL OF THE STATE OF TEXAS.

AND HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT BY FORT WORTH ISD BY EVERMAN AND OTHER SURROUNDING SCHOOL DISTRICT, YOU ARE LEADERS.

AND WE CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR YOUR DEDICATION AND YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE CHILDREN OF THE CROWLEY ISD.

THE SERVICE THAT YOU GIVE IS NOT ALWAYS APPRECIATED.

BUT TONIGHT, I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISION.

AND FOR THE PLANS THAT YOU HAVE MADE AND IMPLEMENTED TO MAKE THOSE VISIONS FOR

[00:20:10]

SUCCESSFUL CHILDREN COME TRUE IN THE CROWLEY ISD.

THANK YOU ALL, AND MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU AND THE WORK OF YOUR HAND.

[APPLAUSE] COMMISSIONER BROOKS, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'RE IF YOU'RE RUNNING OUT OF HERE.

ANY TIME COMMISSIONER BROOKS SPEAKS AT ANY ENGAGEMENT, YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE GOING TO GET A GOOD WORD.

SO I WANT TO PERSONALLY THANK YOU FOR TAKING TIME OUT OF YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE TO BE HERE THIS EVENING TO SHOW APPRECIATION FOR THE WORK THAT WE DO.

BUT WE ALSO GREATLY APPRECIATE THE WORK THAT YOU DO IN TARRANT COUNTY FOR US, NOT JUST TODAY, BUT FOR MANY, MANY YEARS.

AND AND WE WE ARE VERY BLESSED TO HAVE YOUR LEADERSHIP AS WELL AS COMMISSIONERS.

SO THANK YOU.

WE ARE PARTNERS AND WE HAVE SOME GREAT PARTNERS, SO WE COULD GIVE A HAND TO COMMISSIONER BROOKS AS WELL FOR HIS LEADERSHIP.

[APPLAUSE] MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND DR.

MCFARLAND TONIGHT, WE ALSO WANT TO HEAR FROM A FEW OTHERS AS WE LOOK BACK ON JUST SOME OF THE THINGS THAT THIS BOARD HAS ACCOMPLISHED OVER THE PAST YEAR.

CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO.

[VIDEO] IN THE MONTH OF JANUARY, THE STATE OF TEXAS CELEBRATES SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION.

THE SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION THEME FOR THIS YEAR IS TO RISE ABOVE.

WHEN ONE RISES ABOVE ONESELF DOES NOT ALLOW IT TO BE HURT OR HARMED IN ANY FASHION.

AND I'VE SEEN THIS CROWLEY SCHOOL BOARD RISE ABOVE.

IN MANY INSTANCES, THE RECOGNITION THAT THESE YOUNG PEOPLE RECEIVE FROM THE KINDERGARTENS AND THE PRE-K ALL THE WAY TO THE HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HAS BEEN AT THE FOREFRONT OF THIS BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

I HAVE WATCHED THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, AS WELL AS DR.

MCFARLAND OUT IN THE COMMUNITY TO RISE ABOVE AND BE HANDS ON TO TALK ABOUT FUTURE GOALS AS WELL.

EVERY ONE OF OUR BOARD MEMBERS HAS RISEN ABOVE.

THIS IS A VOLUNTARY POSITION.

THEY'RE TAKING TIME OUT OF THEIR PERSONAL TIME TO ANSWER AND TO SUPPORT WHAT THIS DISTRICT NEEDS.

AS A TEACHER, I REALLY APPRECIATE OUR SCHOOL BOARD.

THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR US.

THEY HAVE SUPPORTED US THROUGH ALL THE CHALLENGES THAT HAVE COME UP.

I RECENTLY WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND AFTER HAVING THE MEETING WITH A DOCTOR, HE SUGGESTED THAT I HAVE A QUICK SURGERY SCHEDULED, SO I WENT AHEAD AND SCHEDULE THE SURGERY.

BUT IN THE BACK OF MY MIND, I WAS THINKING, HOW AM I GOING TO PAY FOR THIS UNEXPECTED SURGERY? IN NOVEMBER, WE RECEIVED AN EMAIL THAT HEROES PAY WAS GOING TO BE COMING TOWARDS OUR CHECK FOR THE MONTH, AND IT WAS A BLESSING FOR ME.

I WAS SO THANKFUL TO OUR SCHOOL BOARD FOR APPROVING THAT CHECK.

IT MEANT A LOT TO ME.

WE NEVER KNOW WHAT'S COMING, BUT OUR SCHOOL BOARD PROVIDED SOMETHING THAT WE NEEDED.

AND ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS LIKE A SMALL AMOUNT, IT WAS NOT A SMALL AMOUNT TO ME.

IT MEANT A LOT TO ME.

SO THANK YOU, SCHOOL BOARD.

FREQUENTLY, I GO TO THE BOARD MEETINGS TO PRESENT THE COLORS.

BUT IN SEPTEMBER, I WAS ACTUALLY ACKNOWLEDGED FOR AN AWARD THAT I EARNED, WHICH IS THE LEGION OF VALOR AWARD, WHICH IS THE HIGHEST AWARD IN JROTC THAT YOU EVER GET.

WHEN I WAS INVITED TO THE BOARD MEETING AND I WAS ABLE TO MEET ALL THE BOARD MEMBERS, IT FELT LIKE I WAS INDIVIDUALLY ACKNOWLEDGED FOR EVERYTHING THAT I DID IN [INAUDIBLE] AND MADE ME FEEL PRETTY SPECIAL.

I RECENTLY FOUND OUT THAT THE BOARD MEMBERS, THEY DON'T GET PAID FOR GOING TO THE MEETINGS AND THE FACT THAT THEY DO STILL COME IN.

THEY'RE DEDICATED AND THEY'RE CONSISTENT WITH IT WITH THE TWO MEETINGS THAT THEY HAVE EVERY MONTH.

IT MAKES ME APPRECIATE THEM 10 TIMES MORE BECAUSE NOT ALL I KNOW, NOT ALL

[00:25:03]

ADULTS ARE ABLE TO DO THAT AND STILL STAY CONSISTENT AND STAY STRONG AND IN FOCUS ON PROBLEMS AND ACHIEVEMENTS.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE SCHOOL BOARD FOR ALL THEIR HARD WORK AND STAYING FOCUSED AND MAKING STUDENTS FEEL PROTECTED.

I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO EVERY DAY.

TO THE BOARD.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORT.

THANK YOU FOR GIVING YOURSELF TO BE A SERVANT IN A TIME WHERE WE'RE CHALLENGED IN A PANDEMIC, YOU HAVE FEARLESSLY SERVED.

DAY AFTER DAY, EVENING AFTER EVENING, COMING OUT OF BOARD MEETINGS AT 10 AND 11 O'CLOCK AT NIGHT.

THANK YOU FOR THE COUNTLESS HOURS AND EFFORTS AND INPUT THAT YOU GIVE TO MAKE THIS DISTRICT THE BEST.

CONGRATULATIONS SCHOOL BOARD OF CROWLEY INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT.

ASK EVERYONE TO JOIN ME IN THANKING OUR BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THIS BOARD APPRECIATION MONTH.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO.

SO AS USUAL, Y'ALL ALWAYS MAKE ME CRY EVERY MONTH, EVERY EVERY MEETING, I ALWAYS CRY, SO I'M GOING TO I WANT TO OPEN THE FLOOR TO BOARD MEMBERS TO SHARE THEIR THOUGHTS AND THEIR APPRECIATION, I THINK, FOR THE SHOW OF APPRECIATION.

ARE THERE ANY BOARD MEMBERS WHO MAY HAVE COMMENTS? I DO.

FIRST OF ALL, WHOEVER JAMIE, ANTHONY, MEGHAN.

FIRST OF ALL, IT'S AN AWESOME VIDEO.

THERE'S NO PLACE I'D RATHER BE.

I MEAN, THIS IS A THIS IS A PRETTY, PRETTY COOL PLACE.

SO AND THESE PEOPLE RIGHT HERE MAKE IT ALL THE BETTER.

SO FOR Y'ALL AND FOR Y'ALL? THANKS.

THANK YOU MR. GRASSIA.

TRUSTEE MAYFIELD.

YES.

I'LL JUST ECHO MR. GRASSIA AND SAY THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU.

THANK YOU, MR. KIRCHNER AND EVERYONE WHO PARTICIPATED IN CREATING THE VIDEO.

THANK YOU, PASTOR SWEET FOR YOUR WORDS.

THANK YOU, EVERYONE.

I KNOW.

I SEE A LOT OF YOU DURING THE WEEK, AND I DON'T LOOK THIS GOOD DURING THE WEEK WHEN I VISIT A LOT OF THE SCHOOLS BECAUSE I'M WITH MY PARENT OR MY, YOU KNOW, MY PARENT DUTY.

BUT I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU.

IT'S BEEN AN INCREDIBLE, INCREDIBLE JOURNEY.

JUST BEING JUST LIKE YOU SAID, WORKING WITH THESE INDIVIDUALS UP HERE, BUT ALSO KNOWING THAT WE'RE ALL PART OF THE SAME FAMILY.

IT'S JUST AWESOME.

AND I AGREE I WOULDN'T LIKE TO DO ANYTHING ELSE BUT WHAT WE'RE DOING NOW.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COMMENTS, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY DIFFERENT WAYS YOU CAN SAY THANK YOU, BUT I WANT TO ADD.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COMMENTS TRUSTEE ROBINSON, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THE SAME.

COMING HERE EACH AND EVERY MONTH, LIKE THE YOUNG LADY SAID, TWICE A MONTH SOMETIMES AND STAY UNTIL 10 OR 11 IS ALL A BLESSING.

AND IT'S JUST AN HONOR TO SEE HOW THE DISTRICT IS GROWN AND HOW WE IMPACT STUDENTS AND FACULTY AND STAFF AND THE THINGS THAT WE'RE ABLE TO DO AND THAT WE'RE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH.

AND IT'S ALL BECAUSE OF YOU ALL.

AND SO YOU MAKE OUR WORK EASY.

SO WE THANK YOU AND WE JUST APPRECIATE YOU AND LIKE TRUSTEE, GRASSIA SAID THERE'S NO PLACE I'D RATHER BE.

SO THURSDAY'S I WILL ALWAYS BE HERE IF YOU HAVE ME.

THANK YOU.

TRUSTEE RAY.

YEAH, NOT TO BE LEFT OUT.

THE FIRST OF ALL, I.

NOT ALL OF US HERE, BUT I KNOW JUNE AND I HAVE SPENT.

COUPLE OF NIGHTS COMING OUT AFTER MIDNIGHT, SO I'M THE 10 OR 11.

IT MAY BE SHORT SELLING IT, BUT THAT WAS THAT WAS A WHILE AGO.

BUT YEAH, ABSOLUTELY.

I MEAN, IT'S YOU KNOW, I WENT TO CROWLEY, STARTED IN KINDERGARTEN.

I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT IT AND I KNOW I BRING IT UP.

BUT YOU KNOW, MARY HARRIS IS MY PRINCIPAL AT MEADOW CREEK K THROUGH SIX.

AND THIS WAS HER SEAT PLACE FIVE ON THE BOARD.

AND WHEN SHE STEPPED DOWN, I RAN.

AND SO I SPENT, YOU KNOW, 18 YEARS OR NO DOING MY MATH WRONG, 13 YEARS IN CROWLEY ISD AND NOW 10 YEARS ON THE BOARD.

AND IT HAS BEEN AN HONOR AND A PRIVILEGE.

AND I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE, YOU KNOW, WHAT YOU GUYS DO EVERY DAY BECAUSE YOU'RE THE

[00:30:02]

ONES IN THE TRENCHES.

SO THANK YOU.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE RAY.

SO WHAT I'LL ADD BECAUSE TRUSTEE DAVIS SAID, THERE'S ONLY SO MANY WAYS TO SAY THANK YOU.

I DON'T KNOW.

I THINK EVERY YEAR WE HAVE A NEW HASHTAG AND EVERY YEAR.

I ALWAYS WONDER HOW WE'RE GOING TO BEAT IT.

AND SO THIS YEAR, WE STARTED THE YEAR WITH OUR FAMILY REUNION.

GOD, I HOPE THAT WAS THIS YEAR.

IT ALL IS RUNNING TOGETHER.

AND I REMEMBER SAYING, OK, GOOD.

THE COVID YEARS ARE DIFFERENT, AND I JUST REMEMBER THE HASHTAG.

AS WE SAID EARLIER, IT WAS ACT LIKE ACT LIKE A FAMILY, WORK LIKE A TEAM.

AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT SERVING ON THIS BOARD IS LIKE.

IT'S A LOT OF SACRIFICE, I THINK, PERSONAL AND SOMETIMES PROFESSIONAL, LONG HOURS.

BUT IT'S A LABOR OF LOVE.

AND EACH PERSON, WHETHER YOU'RE A STUDENT OR A COMMUNITY MEMBER, YOU'RE A PART OF OUR CROWLEY ISD FAMILY.

AND SO IT IS A PRIVILEGE AND A HEARTFELT HONOR TO SERVE.

SO THIS IS MY FIRST YEAR OF MY THIRD TERM, AND I'M EXCITED AND DELIGHTED AND I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW HONORED I WAS TO BE CHOSEN TO SERVE IN THIS CAPACITY AGAIN.

AND IT IS A PLEASURE TO SERVE WITH THIS BOARD WHO IS MY FAMILY AND TO ALSO SERVE YOU, OUR CROWLEY ISD FAMILY.

SO ON BEHALF OF ALL OF US.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR APPRECIATING US, BUT ALSO THANK YOU FOR ENDEAVORING IN THIS WORK WITH US.

WE LOVE Y'ALL.

ALL RIGHT.

I THINK IS THAT IT? ARE WE GOING TO CRY SOME MORE? OK.

ALSO, I WOULD BE REMISS IF I DID NOT SAY THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE PRINCIPALS AND THE PRINCIPAL SECRETARIES AND ALL THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO MAY HAVE GONE TO THE POST OFFICE TO SEND US THOSE BEAUTIFUL CARDS.

THE KIDS, THE T-SHIRTS.

I REALLY LOVE MY MY CISD SWAG.

I COULD PROBABLY WEAR CISD FOR AT LEAST THE SEASON WITHOUT HAVING TO DUPLICATE OUTFITS, MY SWEATER THAT I HAVE BEEN BEGGING.

I THINK DR.

WARFIELD FOR A SWEATER, I THINK IS THAT WHO I'VE BEEN BEGGING? I'VE BEEN BEGGING SOMEBODY FOR A SWEATER EVERY TIME I SEE THEM WITH IT.

AND THIS TIME I THANK YOU FOR OUR NEW CROWLEY ISD SWAG, WE WILL BE SO FRESH FOR THE 2022 23 SCHOOL YEAR AS WELL.

SO INDOLOS FAMILY, WE APPRECIATE YOUR INVOLVEMENT IN SUPPORT OF CROWLEY ISD.

[APPLAUSE] WELL, CONGRATULATIONS AARON AND CONGRATULATIONS TO YOUR FAMILY, AND I'M SO PROUD TO HEAR THAT YOUR SISTER IS ALSO DOING WELL AND SERVING OUR COMMUNITY AS WELL.

SO WE'LL BE CHEERING FOR YOU IN YOUR NEXT ROUND OF COMPETITION.

DR. HALL? YES, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

I JUST HAVE ONE COMMENT.

MY LIMITED KNOWLEDGE ABOUT INSTRUMENTS.

BUT THOSE MOVES, THOSE NOTES THAT YOU WERE MAKING THOSE ARE CALLED RUNS.

[00:45:06]

AND THAT'S VERY HARD TO DO, SO YOU DID A GREAT JOB.

CONGRATULATIONS.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU, TRUSTEE DAVIS.

ALL RIGHT, THIS BRINGS US NOW TO OUR AGENDA ITEM FOUR POINT FOUR.

MY FAVORITE NIGHT OF THE FAVORITE PART OF THE NIGHT, OUR HEARTBEAT TEAM AWARD MR. KIRCHNER.

MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND DR.

MCFARLAND.

THIS ONE ALIGNS WITH GOAL THREE THRIVING STAFF.

WE HAVE EMPLOYEES EMPOWERED STAFF WHO ARE BEING EMPOWERED ALL ACROSS OUR DISTRICT AND EVERY MONTH WE GET TO RECOGNIZE JUST ONE OF THEM WITH THE DISTRICT'S HEARTBEAT TEAM AWARD.

AND THIS MONTH WE WENT OUT AND SURPRISE SOMEONE WHO'S WORKING WITH SOME OF OUR YOUNGEST LEARNERS IN THE DISTRICT.

CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO.

[VIDEO] GOOD AFTERNOON, MS. LOCK, WE ARE SO SORRY TO INTERRUPT.

GOOD AFTERNOON, BOYS AND GIRLS, HOW ARE YOU ALL? GOOD AFTERNOON.

SO GOOD TO SEE YOU.

ARE YOU ALL EXCITED TO BE BACK AT SCHOOL? YES, WE'RE SO EXCITED TO HAVE YOU BACK.

AND WE ARE HERE WITH SOME VERY SPECIAL FRIENDS WITH A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MS. FLORES.

MS. FLORES IS OUR HEARTBEAT TEAM AWARD WINNER FOR CROWLEY ISD [INAUDIBLE].

CAN YOU CLAP FOR MS. FLORES? MS. FLORES IS SOMEONE WHO WILL TAKE ON ANY CHALLENGE, AND WHEN A CLASSROOM IS SHORTHANDED, SHE STEPS IN TO SAVE THE DAY.

WE KNOW SHE'S VERY SOFT SPOKEN AND GENTLE AND ENGAGING WITH OUR STUDENTS, BUT SHE IS A POWERHOUSE WHEN IT COMES TO GETTING THINGS DONE AND OUR YOUNG LEARNERS HERE IN CROWLEY ISD POWELL SPEECH THERAPY PROGRAM.

YOU ALL ADORE MS. FLORES, DON'T YOU? ISN'T SHE'S THE BEST? AND WE'RE SO PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT SHE'S OUR HEARTBEAT WINNER FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY.

CASSANDRA SUPPORTS OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION TEAM IN A VARIETY OF WAYS.

FIRST AND FOREMOST, SHE SUPPORTS OUR PALS PROGRAM, EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION PROGRAM FOR LANGUAGE DISORDER CHILDREN.

AND SO SHE HAS BROUGHT SO MUCH TO THE PROGRAM IN TERMS OF BEING ABLE TO PROVIDE GUIDANCE TO THOSE CHILDREN AND REALLY SUPPORTING THEM IN THEIR LEARNING.

SHE ALSO IS ABLE TO GO INTO OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAMS AND AS OUR CONTINUUM OF SERVICES HAS EXPANDED, WE NOW HAVE 13 SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR KIDDOS.

AND SO THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF TYPES OF NEEDS THAT SHE IS ABLE TO WALK INTO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THOSE ON A GIVEN DAY AND AGAIN BRING SUPPORT TO BOTH THE TEACHERS, TO THE CHILDREN, AND SHE'S INVALUABLE TO ME.

YOU CAN TELL THAT FOR HER, IT'S MORE THAN JUST A JOB.

SHE TRULY LOVES WORKING WITH THESE CHILDREN, AND SHE'S ABLE TO CREATE A SUPPORTIVE AND SAFE CONNECTION WITH THEM AND MAKE THEM FEEL LOVED AND WELCOME.

AND FOR ME, AS A PARENT, I LOVE THAT.

I LOVE SEEING MY SON LIGHT UP WHEN HE SEES SOMEBODY THAT HE TRULY LOVES BEING WITH, AND THAT'S MS. FLORES.

THE THING THAT I LOVE THE MOST IS WHEN THEY ACHIEVE SOMETHING AND THEY HAVE THE BIGGEST SMILE OR WHEN THEY REMEMBER ME, EVEN IF I HAVEN'T BEEN IN THEIR CLASSROOM FOR A FEW MONTHS AND THEY SEE ME IN THEIR FACE LIGHTS UP JUST TO KNOW THAT LIKE, WOW, THEY REMEMBER ME, AND THEY APPRECIATED THE TIME THAT I GOT TO WORK WITH THEM.

IT REALLY MEANS A LOT.

ALL RIGHT.

WE'RE GOING ON A PICNIC.

WHAT DO WE NEED, WE NEED OUR PICNIC BLANKET.

WHAT IS THIS? A CUPCAKE.

A CUPCAKE.

[INAUDIBLE] SHE'S JUST COMPASSIONATE AND KIND HEARTED WITH CHILDREN.

MOST OF HER WORK IS WITH VERY SMALL CHILDREN ARE THREE, FOUR OR FIVE YEAR OLDS, BUT I WORK MOST DIRECTLY WITH HER WITH CHILDREN THAT ALTHOUGH WE'RE THE SPECIAL ED DEPARTMENT, WE HAVE A PROGRAM CALLED SIB SHOPS FOR THOSE KIDS WHO ARE NOT RECEIVING SPECIAL EDUCATION, BUT THEY HAVE A SIBLING, A BROTHER OR SISTER THAT IS RECEIVING SPECIAL SERVICES, AND CASSANDRA HAS A HEART FOR THOSE KIDS.

THE REASON WHY I AM ACTUALLY IN THIS FIELD IS BECAUSE I HAVE A YOUNGER SIBLING WHO HAS AUTISM.

I DIDN'T THINK THAT I WOULD BE IN THIS FIELD, BUT JUST SEEING HOW HE STRUGGLED AND JUST THE THE MELTDOWNS THAT HE WOULD HAVE AND ME NOT UNDERSTANDING FULLY, AND I WOULD SEE THE TEAM THAT HE HAD WHEN HE WAS IN SCHOOL AND THE AIDES THAT HELPED HIM AND HIS TEACHER.

SO IT REALLY GOT ME INTERESTED IN THIS FIELD.

YOU LIKE ALL THE COLORS? GREEN.

AND YOU LIKE GREEN.

ORANGE AND ORANGE.

I FIRST MET CASSANDRA WHEN SHE WAS EITHER A SOPHOMORE OR JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL AT CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

I WAS ACTUALLY HER GEOMETRY TEACHER.

I TAUGHT AT CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL FOR FIVE YEARS, SO I HAD JUST A LOT OF STUDENTS AND SHE STILL STANDS OUT TO ME.

ALL THESE YEARS LATER AS ONE OF THE SWEETEST STUDENTS THAT I HAD.

SHE WAS A HARD WORKER.

SHE ALWAYS DID WHAT WAS ASKED OF HER, AND NOW I HAVE THE DISTINCT PLEASURE OF ALSO BEING HER SUPERVISOR AND THAT HAS EXTENDED ACROSS HER LIFE.

[00:50:16]

SHE IS SO CARING, SHE HAS A TRUE HEART OF SERVICE FOR OTHERS.

NO MATTER WHAT PROGRAM IT IS, EVERY KID JUST PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE, WHETHER IT'S THE FUNNY THINGS THEY SAY OR THE STORIES OR JUST THE RANDOM.

CAN I GIVE YOU A HUG? AND THEY JUST MAKE YOUR DAY BETTER.

SO I REALLY THINK THAT THIS IS THE BEST FIELD TO BE IN, JUST TO BE ABLE TO BE AROUND KIDS THAT ARE SO HAPPY JUST TO BE ABLE TO WORK WITH MY COWORKERS AND SEE THAT THEY SAW SOMETHING IN ME TO FEEL LIKE I DESERVE.

THIS AWARD REALLY MEANS A LOT TO ME.

SHE IS EXACTLY WHAT THAT AWARD IS.

SHE HAS A HEART FOR CHILDREN, FOR HER WORK FOR THIS DISTRICT, AND IT SHOWS IN EVERYTHING SHE DOES.

SO THAT'S WHY I THINK THE HEARTBEAT AWARD AND CASSANDRA FLORES ARE MADE FOR EACH OTHER.

FLORES OUR HEARTBEAT WINNER THIS MONTH, MS. FLORES COME ON UP.

[APPLAUSE] I'M NOT.

I'M NOT GOING TO PUT YOU ON THE SPOT UNLESS THERE'S ANYTHING YOU'D LIKE TO SAY.

BUT I KNOW OUR TRUSTEES APPRECIATE YOU.

WE APPRECIATE YOU WHAT YOU'RE DOING WITH OUR YOUNGEST LEARNERS.

PREPARING THEM FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS WHEN THEY ENTER KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE.

SO THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO.

I KNOW THEY'D LIKE TO SHAKE YOUR HAND AND CONGRATULATE YOU.

CONGRATULATIONS.

THANK YOU, MS. FLORES.

I DON'T THINK MS. FLORES WANTED TO TAKE TIME AT THE MIC, AND I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND THAT IT'S A BIG ROOM OF PEOPLE, BUT WE DO WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AGAIN.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR DEDICATION, FOR YOUR SERVANT HEART AND FOR HOW YOU SUPPORT OUR STUDENTS EVERY DAY.

SO THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE] CONGRATULATIONS.

ALL RIGHT.

THIS MOVES US INTO OUR CAMPUS AND PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS AGENDA ITEM FIVE

[5.0 Campus / Program Highlights]

POINT ONE STUDENT AND STAFF FIRST SEMESTER ATTENDANCE AWARDS.

DR. MCFARLAND.

SO, MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE IN THE PAST RECOGNIZED STUDENTS AND STAFF FOR ATTENDANCE.

AND SO WE DO BELIEVE IT'S IMPORTANT FOR OUR FOR OUR FOLKS WHO ARE STILL COMING TO SCHOOL AT RECORD LEVELS TO BE RECOGNIZED.

AND SO TONIGHT WE HAVE MR. SWANN, OUR CHIEF SCHOOL CHIEF OF SCHOOLS AND CHIEF OF STUDENT SERVICES, TO ADDRESS OUR FIRST SEMESTER STAFF AND STUDENT ATTENDANCE AWARDS.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH DR. MCFARLAND, MADAM PRESIDENT HALL, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD [INAUDIBLE] .

THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING US TO BE HERE TONIGHT.

THERE'S BEEN SOME WONDERFUL ANNOUNCEMENTS HERE, FROM FINE ARTS TO TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS WITH STUDENTS.

SO NOW WE JUST WANT TO TALK ABOUT BRIEFLY ABOUT THE ATTENDANCE IN WHAT WE'VE DONE HERE.

THIS PARTICULAR FIRST SEMESTER, WE ACTUALLY ARE UTILIZING CERTAINLY DR.

HAMLET OVER HERE IN DR.

BERRY.

THEY'LL BE PASSING OUT THESE AWARDS TO OUR RECIPIENTS.

IF YOUR NAME IS CALLED, WOULD YOU PLEASE SEND SOMEONE FROM THAT CAMPUS THAT'S GOING TO BE RECEIVING AN AWARD UP HERE SO THEY CAN SHAKE THE HANDS OF DR.

HAMLET AND CERTAINLY DR.

BERRY? AND THEN AT THAT TIME, WAIT AROUND SO THAT YOU CAN SHAKE THE BOARD'S HAND, PLEASE.

NINETY SIX POINT FIVE IS OUR AVERAGE DAILY ATTENDANCE GOAL SET BY THE DISTRICT HERE, AND WE ALWAYS WANT TO CERTAINLY REACH THAT GOAL.

THAT IS OUR PRIMARY TARGET, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO TRYING TO GET THAT EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.

THE HIGHEST AVERAGE DAILY ATTENDANCE FOR STUDENTS THIS YEAR FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER IS DALLAS PARK ELEMENTARY NINETY FOUR POINT SIX FOUR.

LET'S GIVE THOSE GUYS A ROUND OF APPLAUSE.

[APPLAUSE] OUR SECONDARY CAMPUS, CERTAINLY FOR STUDENTS, THAT'S GOING TO BE SUMMER CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOL AT NINETY FIVE POINT EIGHT ZERO.

THINK ABOUT THAT IN THE WAKE OF A PANDEMIC.

CONGRATULATIONS, GUYS.

[APPLAUSE] NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.

NOW, AS WE BEGIN TALKING ABOUT OUR STAFF, WE KNOW IT'S BEEN DIFFICULT OUT THERE FOR OUR STAFF, BUT THOSE GUYS HAVE ACTUALLY COME THROUGH THE STORM, THEY'VE WEATHERED IT.

SO AT THIS TIME, WE WANT TO GIVE THESE GUYS KUDOS TOO AND PAY HOMAGE TO DAVID L WALKER ELEMENTARY NINETY FOUR POINT SIX FOUR.

[APPLAUSE] AND, OF COURSE, LAST BUT NOT LEAST, BILL R.

JOHNSON CTE.

LOOK AT THAT, GUYS FOR OUR STAFF, THEY WANT TO BE HERE.

NINETY FIVE POINT EIGHT ZERO.

[APPLAUSE] JUST TO SAY THIS, A BIT OF THANKS, WE ACTUALLY HAVE DR.

AGAIN, HE WORKS WITH US EVERY SINGLE DAY.

HE HAS SEVERAL THINGS HE'D LIKE TO TALK ABOUT SOME PREVENTIONS AND SOME INTERVENTIONS THERE SHORTLY.

BUT ALSO WE HAVE MS. BRANDENBURG AND WITHOUT DOUBT, GUYS, WE COULDN'T DO THIS WITHOUT MS. LANE, WHO SENDS OUT INFORMATION EVERY SINGLE DAY TO STAFF AROUND THE DISTRICT.

[00:55:01]

AND SO COULD YOU GIVE THOSE GUYS JUST A ROUND OF APPLAUSE TOP? [APPLAUSE] DR.

HAMLET, COULD YOU TALK ABOUT A FEW PREVENTIONS AND SOME INTERVENTIONS AND THINGS LIKE THAT THAT WE'VE DONE THIS YEAR JUST TO TRY TO MAKE SURE THAT WE INTERCEDE THIS HERE? OUR CURRENT GOAL RIGHT NOW FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER IS NINETY ONE POINT EIGHT SEVEN.

THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND.

MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE DOING RIGHT NOW, WE'VE DONE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR AS QUALITY CONTROL CHECKS ON CAMPUSES TO TO ASSESS OUR SYSTEMS. WE'LL GO TO EACH CAMPUS.

WE ACTUALLY TALK TO OUR ATTENDANCE CLERKS.

WE PROVIDE A TRAINING AREA PD FOR OUR ATTENDANCE CLERKS AND ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS OVER ATTENDANCE.

ONE OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT WE'VE DEVELOPED IS THE THE DEVELOPMENT OF COVID CODES TO TRACK OUR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES THAT HAVE BEEN AFFECTED WITH COVID.

AND THOSE CODES ARE CC FOR CONFIRMED CASE OF COVID, CS COVID SYMPTOMS AND CQ IS COVID QUARANTINE BECAUSE WE WANT TO ACCOUNT FOR EACH STUDENT, EACH AND EVERY DAY.

SOME OF THE INTERVENTIONS WE'VE BEEN DOING BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT THINGS HAVE BEEN AFFECTING NOT ONLY OUR DISTRICT, BUT THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD.

WE'VE ALREADY SENT SOME THINGS OUT TO TEA TO DISCUSS SOME THINGS WITH THEM ABOUT SOME OF THE FUNDING ISSUES.

ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE DID THAT WE FOUND OUT WAS WAS THAT TEXAS, KENTUCKY AND CALIFORNIA ARE THE ONLY THREE STATES THAT STILL FUND SCHOOLS THROUGH ADA.

THE OTHER 47 STATES FUND THROUGH ENROLLMENT.

ONE OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT WE DID THIS PAST WEEK WAS THAT WE WENT OUT TO PRECINCT SIX TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK WITH THE JUDGE TO FIND OUT SOME OF THE THINGS THAT AND THE EFFECTS THAT SOME OF THE OTHER DISTRICTS ARE HAVING RIGHT NOW IN REGARDS TO ATTENDANCE.

BECAUSE WE'RE TRYING TO BE PROACTIVE.

AND LIKE I SAID, WE WANT TO ACCOUNT FOR EACH STUDENT, EACH AND EVERY DAY.

SO WE ALWAYS TRYING TO CONTINUE TO TAKE A PROACTIVE APPROACH TOWARDS THAT.

THANK YOU.

THANK Y'ALL.

[APPLAUSE] WELL, BEFORE YOU WALK AWAY, I DO YOU WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAMPUSES FOR THE HIGHEST STUDENT ATTENDANCE AS WELL AS STAFF ATTENDANCE.

I THINK IT SHOWS I GUESS IT'S A TESTAMENT TO THE GREAT THINGS HAPPENING ON YOUR CAMPUSES, AS WELL AS THE DEDICATION OF THE STAFF THAT WE HAVE IN CROWLEY ISD.

I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE ANOTHER SHOUT OUT TO OUR STUDENT SUPPORT TEAM MR. SWANN AND DR.

HAMLET, AND ALL FOR RECOGNIZING THESE ACHIEVEMENTS.

I THINK THAT THAT, YOU KNOW, CONTRIBUTES TO THE MORALE OF OUR CAMPUS AND KEEPING PEOPLE LIFTED AND THEIR HEARTS FULL.

AND SO WE APPRECIATE YOU RECOGNIZING THE SACRIFICES AND THE DEDICATION OF OUR STUDENTS, THEIR FAMILIES FOR GETTING THEM HERE AND ALSO OUR CISD FAMILY TEAM MEMBERS.

SO THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS YOU GUYS.

[APPLAUSE] OK.

MS. BARKSDALE.

GOOD EVENING.

Y'ALL CAN SEE MY FACE NOW.

MY NAME IS BONNIE BARKSDALE.

MY ADDRESS IS SEVEN NINE ZERO EIGHT VISTA RIDGE DRIVE IN FORT WORTH.

SEVEN SIX ONE THREE TWO.

I AM PRESIDENT OF THE CHISHOLM TRAIL EDUCATION FOUNDATION THAT SUPPORTS CROWLEY ISD, AND I AM ALSO MOM TO THREE NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES.

ALL THREE OF THEM ACTUALLY, I GUESS, ARE GRADUATES SINCE KINDERGARTEN IN CROWLEY ISD.

SO I AM HERE WITH MANY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND AM HERE JUST TO SAY THANK YOU.

I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO YOU, OUR BOARD MEMBERS.

YOU ARE VOLUNTEERS.

AS THE YOUNG LADY HERE A FEW MINUTES AGO SAID, I DON'T THINK MOST PEOPLE REALIZE THAT YOU ARE VOLUNTEERS, YOU'RE NOT PAID.

BUT YET THE JOBS YOU DO, ESPECIALLY OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS, HAVE INCLUDED INCREDIBLY STRESSFUL DECISIONS.

IN ADDITION TO THE USUAL STRESSFUL DECISIONS THAT EDUCATION BRINGS ABOUT, THANK YOU TO EACH ONE OF YOU FOR JUST THINKING CAREFULLY AND MAKING DECISIONS THAT YOU THINK ARE BEST FOR THE STUDENTS OF CROWLEY ISD.

I WOULD ALSO BE REMISS IF I DID NOT TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY THANK YOU TO THE ADMINISTRATORS, TO THE TEACHERS AND THE STAFF THAT YOU ALL GUIDE, BUT THEN IN TURN, SUPPORT YOU ALL.

THEY'RE WORKING IN A VERY, VERY STRESSFUL ENVIRONMENT RIGHT NOW.

BUT ALL OF THEM ARE STEPPING UP AND THEY'RE EDUCATING STUDENTS AND HELPING EACH CHILD IN THIS DISTRICT TO BE THE BEST THAT THEY CAN BE.

AND SO I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU.

THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU.

AND IF YOU WOULD EXTEND MY THANKS AND THE THANKS OF MY FOUNDATION'S BOARD TO ALL OF THE REST OF CROWLEY ISD.

OUR NEXT SPEAKER WHO SIGNED UP THIS EVENING WAS MR. JOHN JORDAN, BUT I BELIEVE MR. JORDAN WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT THIS EVENING.

MR. JORDAN? OK OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS MR. KENDAL LOCK.

MR. LOCK.

GOOD EVENING TO BOARD PRESENT HALL, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, DR.

MCFARLAND, I'M GLAD TO BE HERE WITH YOU GUYS.

WHERE DO I REALLY START? SO I CAME TO CROWLEY ISD IN FIRST GRADE AND WHEN I STEPPED IN, I CAME FROM PRIVATE SCHOOL.

IT WAS DIFFERENT.

I DIDN'T KNOW IF I WAS REALLY GOING TO CARE FOR THE DISTRICT.

I DIDN'T HAVE ANY FRIENDS AND LITERALLY FROM THE FIRST DAY AND CROWLEY ISD TO THE TIME THAT I GRADUATED IN 2020, IT HAS BEEN NOTHING SHORT BUT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE.

I THINK A LOT OF TIMES WE UNDERSCORE THE GREAT WORK THAT THE BOARD DOES AND THE

[01:10:02]

GREAT WORK THAT OUR SCHOOLS ARE DOING TO HELP STUDENTS LIKE MYSELF AND OTHER STUDENTS ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

OFTENTIMES, PEOPLE, THEY'LL ASK ME, GOSH, HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS? HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT? YOU'RE DOING THIS AT A YOUNG AGE.

AND IT'S NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF THE SUPPORT THAT I HAD WITH MY FAMILY, BUT IT WAS A SUPPORT THAT I HAD FROM THE SCHOOL BOARD SUPPORT THAT I HAD, OF COURSE, FROM DR.

MCFARLAND.

AND I'M TRYING TO REMEMBER THE PRIOR SUPERINTENDENT.

BUT NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE SUPPORT THAT I HAD FROM EVERYONE WHO WAS IN CROWLEY ISD, EVERYONE ALWAYS TOOK THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAD OPPORTUNITIES PROVIDED TO US, WHETHER THAT WAS IN SCHOOL, WHETHER THAT WAS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL.

AND SO I THINK THAT'S ONE THING LOOKING BACK ON NOW THAT I'LL ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL FOR CROWLEY ISD IS THAT CROWLEY ISD PROVIDED ME WITH A LEARNING A LEARNING EXPERIENCE THAT WAS PERSONALIZED AND THAT MET MY NEEDS AS A GROWING SERVANT LEADER.

AND SO CROWLEY ISD IS NOT JUST A SCHOOL DISTRICT, BUT IT'S AN ENVIRONMENT THAT YOU CAN COME.

YOU CAN HAVE MEET AND MEET PEOPLE, BUILD CONNECTIONS, BUILD COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS AND REALLY GET TO DEVELOP WHAT YOUR PURPOSE IS.

AND SO I JUST WANT TO SAY PUBLICLY THAT I APPRECIATE THE BOARD.

I APPRECIATE YOU, DR.

MCFARLAND.

APPRECIATE THE SERVICE THAT YOU GUYS PROVIDE ON A DAILY BASIS.

I KNOW THAT AT TIMES IT'S HARD, BUT CONTINUE GOING AND WE APPRECIATE YOU GUYS.

AND THEN I ALSO HAVE I KNOW MY TIME HAS ENDED, BUT SOME THANK YOU CARDS FOR MYSELF AS WELL AS COUNCIL MEMBER WILLIAMS, YOU GUYS KNOW THAT I SUPPORT HIS OFFICE.

OH, CAN I GIVE THEM? OK? AND IN EACH OF YOU GUYS HAVE A [INAUDIBLE] PIN AS WELL FROM OUR OFFICE.

OUR NEXT SPEAKER THIS EVENING IS ASHLEY [INAUDIBLE].

I'M ACTUALLY THE NEW RESIDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR OVER AT SYCAMORE POINT TOWNHOMES.

I'VE HEARD SOME GREAT THINGS ABOUT ALL OF YOU AND WHAT YOU GUYS DO.

AND THIS IS MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF YOU, AND I GOT TO SAY, IT'S AMAZING.

I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU GUYS IN THE FUTURE AND THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU GUYS HAVE DONE FOR OUR COMMUNITY IN THE PAST.

OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS JOY LOFTON, MS. LOFTON.

GOOD EVENING, EVERYBODY.

THANK YOU, I'M GLAD TO BE HERE.

THRIVING COMMUNITY, THRIVING STUDENTS.

I'M EVANGELIST JOY LOFTON FROM LIFE INSPIRATIONAL COMMUNITY CHURCH, PASTOR SWEET IS MY PASTOR THAT WAS ON THE BOARD EARLIER.

THAT'S WHERE I RESIDE, AND I'M A MOTHER OF THREE SUCCESSFUL CROWLEY ALUMNI, SERGEANT TECH SERGEANT JAMAL JACKSON, THAT WENT HERE.

DR. KIKI.

THAT'S IN THE BACK THAT GRADUATED FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

ALSO WENT WENT HERE.

AND I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER DAUGHTER WHO WAS AN ATHLETE HERE AT CROWLEY, AND SHE HAD A BABY AND SHE'S BEEN A TEACHER HERE AT CROWLEY AS A, WORD [INAUDIBLE] MY HEAD.

BUT SHE COMES IN AND SUBSTITUTE AMEN.

THE REASON WHY I'M HERE IS BECAUSE THAT'S THE SUCCESS OF THE FRUIT OF MY LABOR AMEN.

SO YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN HERE FOR THEM.

I KNOW THAT SISTER JOAN HAS BEEN HERE AND A FEW OTHERS THAT HAVE BEEN HERE, BUT WHEN DR.

MCFARLAND CAME HERE, I HAD ANOTHER INTEREST.

I HAVE A GRANDDAUGHTER NAMED CALLIE TAMAYO, AND SHE'S A STUDENT AT DAVID L.

WALKER STARTED AT MEADOW CREEK AND PRESCHOOL AMEN.

AND NOW SHE'S IN FIRST GRADE AT DAVID L.

WALKER.

SO I'M STILL EXCITED ABOUT BEING A PART OF THE TEAM.

AND SO I WANT TO ENCOURAGE YOU.

YOU KNOW, THE BIBLE SAYS THAT THERE'LL BE MANY TRIBULATIONS, BUT GOD SAID BE ENCOURAGED FOR JESUS HAS DELIVERED THEM OUT OF THEM ALL AND BE OF GOOD CHEER BECAUSE HE'S HERE FOR YOU.

I'M EXCITED AND I JUST WANT YOU TO LET YOU KNOW.

I WANT TO RISE ABOVE TOO, SO I DON'T WANT TO JUST SERVE ON THE FAITH BASED BOARD.

I WANT TO BE ABLE TO SERVE ON THE BOARD.

SO I'M ANNOUNCING MY CANDIDACY FOR THAT SEVENTH PLACE SEAT IN JESUS NAME.

HAVE A GREAT DAY.

OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS [INAUDIBLE] MCDONALD, MR. MCDONALD.

MY NAME IS [INAUDIBLE] MCDONALD, I LIVE ON HEIGHT'S DRIVE IN CROWLEY.

PRESIDENT HALL, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND DR.

MCFARLAND.

[01:15:02]

THERE'S LOTS OF PRAISING YOURSELF TODAY WHEN IT IS NOT WARRANTED.

I HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH THE COMMISSIONER WHO SAYS THAT IT WAS COURAGEOUS TO IMPLEMENT A MASK MANDATE.

IT IS NOT.

IT IS COWARDICE.

THE GOVERNMENT DIDN'T BAN MASKS, HE SIMPLY SAID, YOU CAN'T FORCE MY CHILD TO WEAR ONE AND YOU'RE TEACHING CHILDREN THAT IT'S OK FOR YOU TO FOLLOW SOME OR TO GO AGAINST SOME RULES, BUT THEY HAVE TO FOLLOW YOURS.

IT DOESN'T HELP THE CHILDREN.

THEY'RE SAFE WITHOUT MASKS.

THEY DON'T WEAR THEM PROPERLY ANYWAYS.

AND THE CLOTH MASKS THAT MANY OF YOU ARE WEARING, I HATE TO TELL YOU THEY ARE INEFFECTIVE AGAINST THE SPREAD OF COVID.

NO SCIENCE SUPPORTS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE AND IN FACT, GERMANY 2021.

THERE WAS A STUDY OF OVER TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND STUDENTS.

SIXTY EIGHT PERCENT OF THOSE HAD NEGATIVE EFFECTS BECAUSE OF THE MASKS.

NOW, CROWLEY THAT'S NEARLY 11000 STUDENTS.

COVID STATISTICALLY WOULDN'T HARM EVEN ONE OF THEM.

THIS CLEARLY ISN'T ABOUT SAFETY.

IT'S FEAR BASED THINKING.

CALIFORNIA HAS A MASK MANDATE, VACCINE MANDATE.

THERE'S NO DISCERNIBLE CHANGES IN THE RESULTS.

WHEN WE DIDN'T KNOW THE DISEASE COULD DO WHAT THE DISEASE COULD DO, IT MADE SENSE TO TAKE DRASTIC MEASURES.

BUT WE KNOW BETTER NOW.

MY SON PAXTON, HE DOESN'T HAVE A VOICE, SO I'M HERE FOR HIM.

HE HAD A HE HAD HE DEVELOPED A TIC DISORDER IN 2020 BECAUSE OF THE STRESS OF THE VIRUS AND EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENED.

HE CAN'T BREATHE OR FOCUS BECAUSE OF THEM, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT COMES TO WEARING THE MASKS.

HE FELL BEHIND BECAUSE OF LAST YEAR'S MANDATE.

OTHER PARENTS, THEY DON'T GET TO DECIDE WHETHER MY CHILD GETS TO WEAR A MASK OR NOT.

I DON'T CARE IF NINETY NINE PERCENT OF THEM VOTED FOR IT.

THEY DON'T GET TO DECIDE THAT, AND NEITHER DO YOU.

WE WILL NOT COMPLY WITH THIS MANDATE, AND I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO FIGHT THIS NONSENSE AND I WILL NOT STAND BY IT ANYMORE.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS MISTY SHANE, MS. SHANE.

MISTY SHANE [INAUDIBLE] WAY, CROWLEY, TEXAS.

WE PARENTS ARE HERE TONIGHT, AND WILL CONTINUE TO BE, AS YOU HAVE SEEN, BECAUSE WE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF POWER HUNGRY, POWER HUNGRY PEOPLE IN POSITIONS SUCH AS YOURSELVES THAT ARE FORGOTTEN CLEARLY THAT YOU WORK FOR US AND OUR CHILDREN AND ARE BOUND TO DO WHAT IS BEST FOR OUR CHILDREN.

AND YOU KEEP SHOWING THAT IT IS NOT THE CASE FOR YOU ALL.

IT IS ALL ABOUT YOUR EGOS AND WHERE THE NEXT DOLLAR COMES FROM.

YOU'RE CONSTANTLY OVERREACHING AND TRYING TO TAKE PARENTS RIGHTS AWAY, AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO STAND BY AND ALLOW TO CONTINUE IT TO HAVE TO HAPPEN.

ALL YOU'RE DOING BY DISPLAYING YOUR DISGUSTING, MANIPULATIVE, NARCISSISTIC ATTITUDE IS WAKING UP MORE AND MORE PARENTS WHO ARE READY TO STAND AGAINST YOU AND STAND FOR LIBERTY AND FREEDOM OF CHOICE FOR OUR CHILDREN.

LET THIS BE NOTICED THAT WE WILL TAKE ALL AVENUES NECESSARY TO TAKE BACK OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THESE SCHOOLS SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD SEATS.

YOU MUST STOP MANDATING AND DICTATING AND START UPLOADING YOUR UPHOLDING YOUR OATH OF OFFICE AND DEFEND OUR CHILDREN'S EDUCATIONAL QUALITY.

DO YOUR JOBS BY FOCUSING ON ACTUALLY EDUCATING, NOT INDOCTRINATING.

ALLOW FOR PARENTS TO MAKE THE CHOICES THAT ARE BEST FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR CHILDREN'S HEALTH.

YOU ARE NOT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS, BUT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE EDUCATIONAL PROFESSIONALS AND SOMEHOW THAT PROFESSIONALISM HAS BEEN LOST.

I'VE SEEN HOW MANY, HOW MUCH MONEY THE DISTRICT HAS RECEIVED JUST SINCE COVID HAS STARTED.

IT'S ABSOLUTELY SICKENING TO KNOW THAT IT HASN'T GONE IT TO EFFECTIVELY TAKE CARE OF THE INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS NEEDS.

YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES FOR THE LUNCHES YOU ARE SERVING TO THESE KIDS.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING AND I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY NOW.

AFTER RECEIVING PICTURES OF DIFFERENT MEALS AND HEARING THE HORROR STORIES OF WHAT YOU'RE SERVING THEM, CRIMINALS IN PRISON EAT BETTER THAN OUR KIDS.

IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE.

ONCE AGAIN, YOU'VE OVERSTEPPED WITH YOUR TYRANNICAL AND CONSTITUTIONAL WAYS OF GOVERNING.

YOU'VE BEEN HIRED BY WE, THE PEOPLE WE ELECTED YOU AND WE TAXPAYERS PAY YOUR SALARIES.

THEREFORE, COMING SOON, WE, THE PEOPLE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIRE YOU JUST AS QUICKLY AS YOU WERE HIRED AND THEN REPLACE YOU WITH COMMON SENSE, LIBERTY MINDED PARENTS WHO ACTUALLY WANT TO SERVE THEIR COMMUNITIES AND THEIR PARENTS AND CHILDREN OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT.

POWER ONLY LASTS SO LONG, AND IN THE END YOU WILL ALL BE FORGOTTEN AND WITH YOUR LEGACY, AND THESE UNCONSTITUTIONAL, TYRANNICAL BODIES LIKE YOURSELF WILL BE DEFEATED.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS TOPSY MATHIS, MR. MATHIS.

GOOD EVENING.

MY NAME IS PASTOR TOPSY MATHIS, PASTOR FOREST KINGDOM CHURCH, 5701 WEST CREEK DRIVE HERE IN FORT WORTH, TEXAS.

I'M JUST HERE TO CELEBRATE DR.

HALL SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AND DR.

MCFARLAND FOR THE GREAT AND OUTSTANDING JOB THAT YOU GUYS DO ON A DAILY BASIS.

I WAS WONDERING HOW COULD I HONOR YOU GUYS? AND MY MIND WENT BACK TO MY ADOLESCENT AGE WHEN I WAS LOOKING AT SUPERHEROES ON TELEVISION, I WAS LOOKING AT BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN, SUPERMAN AND SUPERMAN STOOD OUT TO ME BECAUSE I WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY WITH HIM BECAUSE OF HIS BLUE SUIT AND RED BOOTS

[01:20:05]

AND HIS RED CAPE, AND HE ALWAYS WAS ABLE TO ADDRESS ISSUES AND PROBLEMS. AND SO WHENEVER SOMETHING CAME UP, SUPERMAN SHOWED UP ON THE SCENE.

I SAID, WELL, HOW CAN I IDENTIFY DR.

HALL AND THE SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS AND DR.

MCFARLAND? AND IT'S BECAUSE OF YOUR FAITH THAT YOU GUYS DO AN OUTSTANDING JOB.

IT'S BECAUSE YOU GUYS CONTINUE TO SHOW UP ON A DAILY BASIS.

FAITH FOR ME SIMPLY SAYS THAT YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN FAITHFUL EVEN DURING THE PANDEMIC, EVEN DURING UNCERTAINTY TIMES WHEN WE DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW VIRUSES ARE BEING PASSED.

BUT HERE, HERE YOU GUYS ARE BEING FAITHFUL.

ALSO A STAND BECAUSE YOU GUYS ARE AUTHENTIC.

YOU GUYS ARE AUTHENTIC.

YOU GUYS ARE ORIGINAL MASTERPIECES, ALTHOUGH YOU HAVE DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS.

YOU ARE MASTER MASTERS AT WHAT YOU DO AND WE SAY THANK YOU.

AND ALSO, I SIMPLY STANDS FOR YOUR INTEGRITY, YOUR INTEGRITY SIMPLY SAYS HONESTY, AND THAT YOU AND YOUR FAIRNESS FOR WHAT YOU DO FOR THE COMMUNITY, THE EDUCATORS AND THE CHILDREN OF CROWLEY ISD.

T SAYS YOU TRUSTWORTHY.

IT SIMPLY SAYS YOU ARE RELIABLE, YOU ARE DEPENDABLE AND YOU SHOW UP.

THANK YOU FOR SHOWING UP, AND THE LAST ONE IS H.

WE JUST WANT TO HONOR YOU AND CELEBRATE YOU.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS DIANA [INAUDIBLE] ACOSTA, MS. ACOSTA.

THIS WILL PROBABLY BE MY THIRD TIME HERE AT THE DISTRICT AND AS OF THIS WEEK, THIS IS MY LAST WEEK BEING AN EMPLOYEE OF THE DISTRICT.

WHY AM I NOT AN EMPLOYEE ANYMORE OF THIS DISTRICT IS BECAUSE OF THE MASK MANDATE.

I WANT THE PARENTS IN THE COMMUNITY TO KNOW THE MASK MANDATES NEVER ENDED.

THEY NEVER ENDED.

THEY STAYED IN PLACE BY COERCION OF TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS AND EVEN THE SUPERINTENDENT WITH BEAUTIFUL WARNING SIGNS TO ALL OF US THAT WERE THERE.

TODAY I WOULDN'T TO COME DOWN HERE TODAY, BUT I WORKED FOR JUNE DAVIS ELEMENTARY, MS. DAVIS.

YOU KNOW, I LOVE THEM, CHILDREN.

I LOVE THAT SCHOOL.

I LOVE THOSE CHILDREN.

BUT MY SON WAS TOLD.

MY GRANDSON WAS TOLD HE CAN'T ENTER THAT SCHOOL BUILDING TODAY.

HE HAS DYSLEXIA.

HE HAS ADHD.

HE HAS SEVERE ASTHMA.

HE HAS A MEDICAL PAPERWORK THAT CLEARLY STATES HE CAN'T WEAR A MASK.

THEY WERE TOLD TO GO WAIT OUTSIDE FOR HIM.

HE NEEDED TO GO WAIT OUTSIDE.

HE COULDN'T ENTER THE SCHOOL.

I WOULDN'T HAVE COME HERE AND SAID NOTHING.

I WOULD HAVE STAYED IN MY HOUSE AND DONE NOTHING THIS EVENING, BUT I HAD TO LEAVE BECAUSE IT'S NOT ONLY HIM THAT'S BEING MASKED AND BULLIED.

THERE'S MANY OTHER CHILDREN BEING BULLIED THERE TO COMPLY.

IF YOU WANT A SPECIAL THING, YOU HAVE TO PARTICIPATE THE WAY THEY SAY BY WEARING THE MASK, DON'T COME UP TO MY DESK UNLESS YOU'RE WEARING THAT MASK.

IF YOU WANT YOUR PE TIME, LINE UP AND GET THEIR MASKS ON OR YOU'RE NOT GOING TO GO OUTSIDE TO HAVE THAT MASK.

I WANT EVERYBODY TO UNDERSTAND HERE.

I'VE BEEN THERE SINCE 2019.

I WOULDN'T HAVE NEVER LEFT THAT POSITION.

I'M A LUNCH MONITOR.

I'M ALREADY TAKEN ON HOW THE SPECIAL KIDS THAT WERE THERE, THEY NEEDED HELP BECAUSE ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE QUITTING.

YEAH, I KNOW YOU'RE EVERYBODY'S COVERING FOR STUFF, BUT PEOPLE ARE QUITTING BECAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO BE UNDER THIS MASK MANDATE.

IT IS VERY STRESSFUL.

THESE KIDS THAT WERE BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN BEHAVING WELL, EVEN THE DOWN SYNDROME CHILD LEFT THE SCHOOL BECAUSE HE WAS SCREAMING ON THAT FLOOR, ASKING NOT TO WEAR THAT MASK.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS, MS. ACOSTA YOUR TIME IS EXPIRED.

I KNOW MY TIME HAS EXPIRED.

WELL, WE APPRECIATE YOU.

THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS DIANA A [INAUDIBLE].

GOOD EVENING.

ACTUALLY, IT'S GOING TO BE MY SON SPEAKING UP TODAY.

GOOD EVENING, MY NAME IS ELIJAH [INAUDIBLE] AND I ATTEND JUNE W DAVIS ELEMENTARY AND I AM IN THE FOURTH GRADE.

I HAVE A MEDICAL EXEMPTION.

I HAVE ADHD, DYSLEXIA AND ASTHMA.

IT'S NOT FUN HAVING THESE PROBLEMS, BUT I LIVE WITH IT.

I LOVE SCHOOL, BUT I DON'T LIKE MASK BEING FORCED ON ME AND MY FRIENDS.

IT'S HARD TO WEAR ONE AND I GET IN SO MUCH TROUBLE FROM TEACHERS WHEN IT'S NOT ON RIGHT.

I CAN'T HELP IT.

THEY ARE SO HARD TO BREATHE WITH IT ON.

ALL I ASK FROM MY SCHOOL BOARD IS TO THINK OF US STUDENTS THAT HAVE

[01:25:01]

DISABILITIES THAT DON'T NEED TO BE YELLED AT.

WE NEED TO.

WE NEED LOVE AND SUPPORT.

I ALSO ASK THAT TEACHERS TO STOP YELLING AT ME ABOUT NEEDING TO SEE MY MEDICAL EXEMPTION PAPERS.

THIS IS NEED.

THIS NEEDS TO END.

NO MORE MASK MANDATES.

PLEASE STOP LIVING IN FEAR.

THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS ANGIE HUNT, MS. HUNT.

HELLO, MY NAME IS ANGIE HUNT, AND I LIVE ON SLIPPERY ROCK DRIVE.

I WANTED TO START OFF BY SAYING YOU GUYS DID NOT HAVE TO PUT A MASK MANDATE IN PLACE TO GET ME BACK HERE.

I JUST SKIPPED ONE WHOLE MEETING.

BUT HERE WE ARE.

WE HAVE OUR NEW MASK MANDATE.

YEAH.

YOU MEAN, DO YOU MEAN TO CONVEY THAT THINGS ARE SO AWFUL, LIKE SO AWFUL? WE NEED TO SEND OUT A SURVEY? IS THAT HOW BAD THINGS WERE FOR A MASK MANDATE TO HAPPEN NOW? IT TOOK YOU GUYS TWO WEEKS TO GET THIS MASK MANDATE.

HAVE YOU LOOKED AT OUR NUMBERS? I LOOK AT OUR NUMBERS ALL THE TIME.

WE ARE TRENDING DOWN AND YOU STILL IMPOSE A MASK MANDATE.

YOU STILL IMPOSE A MASK MANDATE EVEN THOUGH WE HAD A MANDATE IN THE FALL.

AND THE FACTS ARE WE DID NOT DO BETTER WITH OUR NUMBERS THAN FORT WORTH ISD THAN BURLESON THAN [INAUDIBLE] ANYWHERE ELSE LOCAL.

NOBODY ELSE HAS A MASK MANDATE.

OUR NUMBERS WERE NOT BETTER.

THAT IS IT'S IGNORANCE.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY YOU BROUGHT THIS MASK MANDATE BACK.

OTHER THAN I DIDN'T COME TO THE LAST MEETING.

I'M JUST I'M TRYING TO BE FUNNY TO MAKE IT LIGHT.

I'M NOT WORKING VERY WELL WITH THAT.

I WANT CROWLEY ISD TO BE LIKE AN AMAZING PLACE TO BE, I WANT TO BE PROUD OF CROWLEY ISD, I WANT TO I WANT MY KIDS TO HAVE THE BEST EXPERIENCE HERE.

MASK MANDATES ARE DUMB AND IT'S PROVEN IT'S FACTUAL.

I DON'T CARE HOW MANY PEOPLE SAID YES ON THE SURVEY AND YOU WANT TO SAY, I APPRECIATE OUR SUPERINTENDENT COMING TO OUR SCHOOL AND STEPPING UP FOR ONE DAY.

I BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY HAD MY SON IN THAT CLASS.

HE FINALLY GOT HIS CHROMEBOOK BACK THAT DAY.

IT WAS ACTUALLY THEN STOLEN ON MONDAY, BUT RECOVERED ON TUESDAY.

SO WE HAVE A CHROMEBOOK.

BUT SORRY, I DO HAVE ONE LAST THING WE NEED TO FOCUS ON CLASS SIZE.

I THINK THAT A BIG ISSUE THAT CROWLEY ISD ALL SCHOOLS ARE HAVING IS TEACHER TEACHER ISSUES.

I THINK WE HAVE SMALLER CLASS SIZES.

WE'LL BE ABLE TO GET MORE TEACHERS.

WE WILL BE ABLE TO CUT DOWN ON COVID LEARNING LOSS.

SMALLER CLASSES.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER THIS EVENING AS NATALIA DE LA CRUZ, MS. DE LA CRUZ.

NATALIA DE LA CRUZ [INAUDIBLE].

I'M GOING TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A DEFINITION OF A CRIMINAL, AND IT IS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS BEEN FOUND GUILTY OF THE COMMISSION OF CONDUCT THAT CAUSES SOCIAL HARM AND THAT IS PUNISHABLE BY LAW.

A PERSON WHO HAS COMMITTED A CRIME, EVERY ACTION THAT YOU TOOK TO BRING BACK THIS MASK MANDATE.

YOU DID IT BY BREAKING THE LAW, WHICH MAKES YOU CRIMINALS.

BUT WAIT, YOU DID A SURVEY, RIGHT? YOU SURVEYED MINORS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE PARENTS.

SERIOUSLY? AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO SAY THAT, OH, BECAUSE A SURVEY WE'RE GOING TO EVERYBODY IN CROWLEY WANTS A MASK.

COME ON, PEOPLE, I KNOW THESE PEOPLE THAT YOU CALL UP HERE EVERY WEEK.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU TELL THEM, BUT I'M PRETTY SURE MINISTERS AND MEN AND WOMEN OF GOD HAVE YOU GONE TO THE SCHOOLS AND TALK TO THE TEACHERS? THEY ARE BROKEN.

THEY'RE BROKEN BECAUSE OF THE ACTIONS OF THESE PEOPLE RIGHT HERE.

HAVE YOU GONE INTO THE CAMPUSES AND TALK TO YOUR CHILDREN? THEY'RE EATING ROTTEN HAMBURGERS, ROTTEN HAMBURGERS.

AND THESE ARE THE CHILDREN THAT ARE COMING TO YOUR CHURCHES, TO YOUR CONGREGATION, AND THESE PEOPLE HERE ARE TEACHING YOU, OH, ANOTHER THING.

ONE OF MY FRIENDS SAID THAT THEY'RE TEACHING THEM THAT OLD WOMEN, ALL WHITE WOMEN ARE MEAN.

THESE PEOPLE ARE CAUSING DIVISION, AND THAT DIVISION IS GOING TO INFILTRATE INTO YOUR CHURCHES.

AND YOU.

I BETTER AND I HEAR YOU SAY THAT IT'S A PARENTS ISSUE THEM.

RACISM AND DIVISION BECAUSE IT'S NOT COMING FROM US.

AND I SUGGEST THAT YOU PRAY, YOU ASK FOR REPENTANCE, FOR DISCERNMENT.

[01:30:03]

LOOK INTO THEIR HISTORY AND TELL ME YOU'RE GOING TO COME HERE AGAIN AND STAND BEHIND THEM.

I CHALLENGE YOU.

[APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER WHO SIGNED UP WITH CHRIS NETTLES, I BELIEVE COUNCIL MEMBER NETTLES WAS NOT ABLE TO BE IN ATTENDANCE.

OUR NEXT SPEAKER IS SALLY MATTSON, MS. MATTSON.

MS. MATTSON, OK, AND THEN OUR FINAL SPEAKER OF THE EVENING IS YOLANDA RALSTON, MS. RALSTON.

WE'LL GO BACK TO SALLY MATTSON, MS. MATTSON.

THANK YOU.

HI, GOOD EVENING.

MY NAME IS SALLY MATTSON, I'M HERE ON BEHALF OF COUNCILMAN CHRIS NETTLES OF FORT WORTH.

FIRST OF ALL, I JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR MAKING SO MANY DIFFICULT DECISIONS THAT WE'VE HEARD ABOUT TONIGHT, AS WELL AS THE PAST FEW MONTHS THAT HELPED KEEP OUR CHILDREN AND OUR KIDS SAFE AT YOUR SCHOOLS.

AND I KNOW THEY'RE NOT ALWAYS POPULAR, BUT THAT'S THAT'S THE LIFE, I GUESS, OF BEING IN THE PUBLIC EYE.

WE ARE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.

SORRY, I'M NERVOUS FOR YOU.

THE MENTORS AND STEWARDS OF FORT WORTH NEXT GENERATION.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING SO MANY HARD DECISIONS AND GIVING UP SO MUCH AND SACRIFICING A LOT OF YOUR TIME AND YOUR LIVES FOR THE KIDS OF CROWLEY AND SOUTH FORT WORTH.

YOU'VE HELPED MAKE STUDENTS SAFETY A PRIORITY AND ENSURE THAT CROWLEY ISD REMAINS A COMFORTABLE PLACE FOR KIDS TO LEARN AND GROW.

AND WE REALLY APPRECIATE THAT.

WE'VE ACTUALLY INVITED A STELLAR YOUNG WOMAN, A STUDENT OF HF STEVENS MIDDLE SCHOOL, TO COME AND LEARN WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A COUNCIL MEMBER FOR A DAY.

AND IT'S SO IT'S BECAUSE OF THE PARTNERSHIP THAT FORT WORTH HAS WITH CROWLEY ISD THAT MAKES OPPORTUNITIES LIKE THIS POSSIBLE.

AND SO WE THANK YOU FOR THAT, AND I DO HAVE A CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION FOR THE CROWLEY SCHOOL BOARD, AS WELL AS EACH OF THE MEMBERS OF THE BOARD THAT I'LL HAND.

THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT, NOW, OUR FINAL SPEAKER OF THE EVENING, YOLANDA RALSTON, MS. RALSTON.

GOOD EVENING, DR.

HALL.

DR. MCFARLAND AND TRUSTEE.

I'M YOLANDA ROSTON, I RESIDE AT 8405 ORLANDO SPRINGS DRIVE.

I'M HERE ON BEHALF OF THE UNITED EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION.

I'M A MOTHER OF THREE DAUGHTERS AND I'VE LIVED IN THE DISTRICT FOR TWENTY ONE YEARS.

I AM THE PRESIDENT OF CROWLEY ISD UEA AND I'M ALSO THE LEAD DYSLEXIA SPECIALIST FOR THE DISTRICT.

JANUARY SCHOOL BOARD APPRECIATION MONTH AND UEA WANTS TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO SAY THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION IN CISD.

THANK YOU, SCHOOL BOARD MEMBERS, FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP AND YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE STAFF AND STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY.

THE JOB OF THE SCHOOL BOARD IS TO ESTABLISH A VISION FOR THE EDUCATION PROGRAM, DESIGN A STRUCTURE TO ACHIEVE THAT VISION, ENSURE SCHOOLS ARE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE COMMUNITY AND STRONGLY ADVOCATE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT IN STUDENT LEARNING.

THIS IS NO EASY TASK.

THE SCHOOL BOARD HAS DEMONSTRATED THEY ARE TAKING THE ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES VERY SERIOUSLY AND MAKING DECISIONS WITH CAREFUL THOUGHTS AND ATTENTION.

THIS SCHOOL YEAR HAS BEEN FACED WITH MANY CHALLENGES AND MANY CELEBRATIONS.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR STRONG LEADERSHIP WHILE MAKING DECISIONS THAT IMPACT THE STUDENTS AND STAFF OF CISD.

YOU HAVE ALL RISEN ABOVE THE CHALLENGE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, WHICH HAS BEEN VERY DIFFICULT, AND WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND DEDICATION TO CISD.

THANK YOU.

THIS CONCLUDES OUR OPEN FORUM AND MOVES US INTO.

MOVES US INTO OUR REPORT ITEMS AND AGENDA ITEM, SEVEN POINT ONE NATIONAL

[7.0 Report Item(s)]

ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN ACCREDITATION FOR THE EMPLOYEE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER.

DR. MCFARLAND.

SO MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS WE ARE DEFINITELY EXCITED TO BRING FORWARD THIS NEXT ITEM.

THIS IS AN ITEM WE'RE DEFINITELY PROUD OF AND DEFINITELY ARE EXCITED TO TO

[01:35:01]

HEAR THE PRESENTATION FROM A MS. BLOUNT, MS. BLOUNT.

THANK YOU, DR.

MCFARLAND, PRESIDENT HALL, TRUSTEES.

I'M SO EXCITED TO STAND BEFORE YOU TODAY.

IT'S BEEN A MINUTE, BUT I'M REALLY, REALLY EXCITED TO BRING TO YOU.

MS. JACKSON, OUR EMPLOYEE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, PART OF THE TEAM, AND I SPEAK TO YOU ABOUT THEIR RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENT OF BECOMING A NAEYC ACCREDITED CENTER.

THIS DOES ALIGN WITH GOALS ONE AND THREE THRIVING STUDENTS AND EMPOWERED STAFF.

[INAUDIBLE] SO YOU MAY ASK, WHAT IS NAEYC? SO NAEYC STANDS FOR THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG CHILDREN, AND IT'S A PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION THAT WORKS TO PROMOTE HIGH QUALITY EARLY LEARNING FOR ALL YOUNG CHILDREN BIRTH THROUGH EIGHT BY CONNECTING EARLY CHILDHOOD PRACTICE POLICY AND RESEARCH.

AND SO WE ALL KNOW EVERY CHILD DESERVES ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY EARLY LEARNING, ESPECIALLY THE STAFF MEMBERS IN CROWLEY ISD.

THEIR BABIES DESERVE THIS OPPORTUNITY JUST AS MUCH AS ALL OTHER CHILDREN.

AND SO IN OUR DISTRICT, WE ARE SO PROUD THAT OUR CENTER HAS ACHIEVED THIS.

OUR CENTER HAS ACHIEVED.

IT'S VERY HARD TO REACH GOAL, AND THEY ARE NOW NAEYC ACCREDITED FROM GUIDELINES FOR IN TEACHER PREPARATION THROUGH SAFETY STANDARDS.

THE NAEYC ACCREDITATION ENSURES THAT PROGRAM THAT OUR PROGRAM IS SAFE.

THE PROGRAM IS WELL PREPARED DAY IN AND DAY OUT.

AND THE STAFF THERE ARE VERY INTENTIONAL ABOUT ENSURING THAT THE CHILDREN SUCCEED AND THAT THEY ARE REACHING THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL.

IT IS A REPUTABLE INDICATOR OF QUALITY.

NAEYC CORRELATES WITH SO MANY FACTORS THAT LEND US TO THE IDEA THAT THESE BABIES WILL BE KINDER READY ONCE THEY MOVE ON TO THEIR KINDERGARTEN SPOTS.

NAEYC IS THE HIGHEST ACCREDITATION THAT A CHILD CARE CENTER CAN ACHIEVE.

THERE IS NO HIGHER STANDARD FOR A CHILD CARE PROGRAM, AND WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR EMPLOYEE CHILD DEVELOPMENT FOR DOING FOR ACHIEVING THIS GOAL.

IT IS AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED ACCREDITATION.

SO YOU MAY ASK, WHAT IS THE PROCESS, WHAT DID OUR TEAM HAVE TO DO OVER THERE? SO THEY HAD TO ENROLL IN A SELF STUDY.

THE EMPLOYEE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, LED BY MS. JACKSON AND HER TEAM TOOK A WHOLE YEAR, WHICH IS A REQUIRED STEP IN NAEYC TO DEEPEN THEIR UNDERSTANDING OF QUALITY STANDARDS SET FORTH BY NAEYC.

NAEYC PROVIDES A SELF TOOL WHERE PROGRAMS ARE TO STUDY THEIR PRACTICES.

THEY ARE TO STUDY THEIR INTERACTIONS, THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE COMMUNITY, WITH THEIR FAMILIES, AND JUST HOW THEY GENERALLY TAKE CARE OF CHILDREN AND PROVIDE HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION.

AND THEY'RE CHALLENGED WITH REALLY REFLECTING ON HOW WELL THEY'RE DOING.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH AND WHAT THEY CAN DO TO MATCH THE STANDARDS THAT NAEYC SET FORTH.

SO THEY DID THIS FOR 12 WHOLE MONTHS.

THEY WORKED WITH OTHER DISTRICT STAFF, HAD THEM COME IN.

READ OVER.

KENYA HAS THIS PORTFOLIO HERE WHERE THEY HAD TO MAKE FIVE OF THESE FOR EACH CLASSROOM AND HER VERY OWN WHERE PEOPLE COMB THROUGH.

THEY DID OBSERVATIONS AND JUST ROLLED UP THEIR SLEEVES TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO THE TEAM.

THE NEXT STEP WAS TO APPLY.

AND SO IN THIS PROCESS, THE TEAM FINISHED THEIR PORTFOLIOS AND THEY SUBMITTED IT OVER TO NAEYC FOR REVIEW.

AND THEN THEY HAD TO AWAIT THE DECISION OF THE NAEYC ACCREDITING BOARD, WHERE THEY ALSO WERE SUBJECT TO A ONSITE VISIT.

AND SO AGAIN, BOARD BACK WHEN WE CAME TO YOU AND I THINK 2017, YOU CHARGED US WITH MAKING SURE THAT THIS PROGRAM WAS GOING TO BE A HIGH QUALITY PROGRAM AND THAT THE CROWLEY ISD STAFF WOULD LOVE IT.

AND I'M SO PROUD TO SAY THE TEAM HAS MET THAT CHALLENGE AND THEY'VE DONE IT.

WE ARE NOW AGAIN, AS I SAID BEFORE, A NAEYC ACCREDITED CENTER.

[APPLAUSE] SO THE JOURNEY I MENTIONED BEFORE THESE PORTFOLIOS, SO WHAT'S IN THIS PORTFOLIO, WELL THEY HAVE FIVE AND THE KENYA HAS HER OWN.

THERE ARE 10 STANDARDS THAT THEY HAVE TO REALLY LOOK INTO AND THEY RANGE FROM RELATIONSHIPS TO LEADERSHIP MANAGEMENT.

AND SO THE LADIES OVER AT THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER THEY HAVE, THEY ARE TEACHING.

THEY ARE TEACHING DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE LESSONS DAY IN AND DAY OUT FOR CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS SIX WEEKS OLD ALL THE WAY UP TO PRE-K.

THEY ARE ALIGNED WITH THE WORK THAT WE'RE DOING IN OUR THREE AND FOUR YEAR CLASS THREE AND FOUR YEAR OLD CLASSROOMS, AS WELL AS OUR RECENT PARTNERSHIPS THAT YOU HEARD EARLIER BY THE COMMISSIONER, OUR EARLY HEAD START CLASSROOMS. SO THE RIGOR IS THERE, BUT IT'S ALSO SAFE, IT'S APPROPRIATE AND THE FAMILIES.

WE HAD A LOT OF FAMILIES IN HERE EARLIER TODAY AND THEY HAD THEIR LITTLE PEOPLE HERE, BUT THE MEETING [INAUDIBLE] WENT ON A LITTLE BIT LONGER AND SO THEY NEEDED TO GET THEM HOME FOR BED.

BUT THEY ALSO TOOK THE TIME OF THIS PROCESS TO JUST LOOK AT THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES, AND OUR FAMILIES SHOWED UP AND THEY WERE HERE TO RECOGNIZE OUR TEAM IN THIS IN THIS RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENT.

SO THE NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.

[01:40:01]

SO SOME FUN FACTS I WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU BEFORE I TURN IT OVER TO MS. JACKSON.

SOME FUN FACTS ABOUT OUR VERY OWN CROWLEY ISD EMPLOYEE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER.

IT'S NAEYC ACCREDITED NOW.

SO VERY HAPPY TO SHARE THAT.

THE CDC STARTED IN 2016 WITH THE DREAM BY DR.

KOEHLER, WHO I THINK IS AROUND SOMEWHERE [APPLAUSE] AND A COMMITTEE, AND THEY WORK TOGETHER TO BRING IT BEFORE YOU BOARD WHERE THEY SOUGHT APPROVAL.

AND THEN IN 2017, WE STARTED THE WORK.

WE GOT THE STAFF IN PLACE AND WE OPENED OUR DOORS IN AUGUST OF 2017 UNDER THE SUPPORT OF THIS BOARD AND DR. MCFARLAND.

DR. MCFARLAND.

OUR CENTER HAS SERVED OVER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE INFANTS, TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOL STUDENTS THAT ARE STAFF BABIES.

AND SO THAT IS HUGE BECAUSE WE WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE CENTER WAS ALWAYS FULL AND IT HAS BEEN FULL SINCE WE'VE OPENED OUR DOORS.

THOSE ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE BABIES BELONG TO JUST OVER ONE HUNDRED CROWLEY ISD EMPLOYEES.

TODAY, THE ENROLLMENT IS SITTING AT A VERY FULL SEVENTY FOR FIVE CLASSROOMS. THERE ARE 16 STAFF THERE, TWO ADMINISTRATORS, FIVE LEADS AND NINE ASSISTANT CAREGIVERS.

OH, AND I'M SORRY.

I WANTED TO SHARE WITH YOU THE LAST PIECE THAT IN FORT WORTH, A RECENT SEARCH IN JANUARY SHOWED THAT THERE ARE THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE LICENSED CHILD CARE HOMES AND LICENSED CENTERS IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH.

AND OF THAT, THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE, ONLY EIGHT ONLY EIGHT ARE NAEYC ACCREDITED AND WE ARE PART OF THAT EIGHT.

SO AGAIN, I JUST CANNOT BRAG ENOUGH ON MS. JACKSON AND HER TEAM, AND JUST I'M JUST SUPER EXCITED TO SHARE ALL THE GREAT THINGS THAT'S HAPPENING THERE.

BUT THIS NAEYC ONE JUST REALLY HAD TO HAVE ITS OWN SPOT TONIGHT ON THE BOARD AGENDA.

SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALLOWING US TO COME BEFORE YOU.

SO I DO WANT TO INTRODUCE MS. JACKSON AND NOT STEAL ALL HER THUNDER AND ALLOW HER TO INTRODUCE HER TEAM.

AND AGAIN, JUST WAVE AT SOME OF THE PARENTS AND BOARD IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

BUT MS. JACKSON, PLEASE.

THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND, MADAM PRESIDENT HALL AND TRUSTEES, THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE THAT HELPED US ON THIS JOURNEY, AND I WOULD BE SO REMISS IF I DIDN'T MENTION SOME OF THOSE PEOPLE.

THE JOURNEY TO ACCREDITATION WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT DR.

KOEHLER FOR HAVING THIS VISION.

SO I THANK YOU, DR.

KOEHLER.

[APPLAUSE] ALSO, THE SUPPORT OF OUR SUPERINTENDENT AND TRUSTEES, AS WELL AS MR. REEVES, MR. WALKER AND THEIR TEAMS, NURSE VANCAMPEN, MS. ADRIAN, MR. KIRCHNER, DR.

BROOKS, THE PAST PRINCIPAL AT JACKIE CARDEN, MS. RANDALL, THE CURRENT PRINCIPAL AT JACKIE CARDEN, DR.

BERRY AND THE ENTIRE HR TEAM.

SO I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO GIVE A SPECIAL THANKS TO MY STAFF THAT CAME IN TODAY IF YOU WOULD STAND.

[APPLAUSE] WE HAVE MS. AMY, WHO IS MY ASSISTANT DIRECTOR.

WE HAVE MS. GREEN, WHO WAS OUR INFANT LEAD TEACHER.

WE HAVE MS. SIMPSON, WHO IS OUR [INAUDIBLE] TEACHER.

WE HAVE MS. MARTIN, WHO IS OUR TODDLER LEAD TEACHER.

WE HAVE MS. WILLIAMS, WHO IS OUR PRE-K THREE LEAD TEACHER.

AND MS. PEARSON, WHO IS OUR PRE-K FOUR LEAD TEACHER.

[APPLAUSE] I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF OUR FAMILIES THAT SHOWED UP TODAY BECAUSE WE COULDN'T DO IT WITHOUT THEM.

THANK YOU.

[APPLAUSE] SO TRUSTEE, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE OPPORTUNITY WE HAD SOME PARENTS IN THE AUDIENCE WHO WERE HERE TO SHOW THEIR LOVE AND SUPPORT, AND WE HAVE SOME STUDENTS AND SO WE'RE JUST EXCITED.

THANK YOU PARENTS FOR SHOWING SOME LOVE.

THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT.

WELL, ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR MS. BLOUNT OR THE EARLY CHILDHOOD TEAM? I JUST WANT TO SAY I DON'T I CAN'T TELL HOW PROUD YOU ARE, MS. BLOUNT.

I JUST REALLY CAN'T TELL THAT, BUT JUST AN AWESOME, AWESOME JOB.

AND YES, WE DO FEEL YOUR EXCITEMENT, BUT WE KNOW IT WAS, AS DR.

HALL SAID EARLIER, A LABOR OF LOVE.

AND SO THANK YOU, DR.

KOEHLER.

IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISION, AS EVERYONE HAS ALREADY STATED.

THANK YOU, PARENTS.

THE WHOLE DISTRICT NURSE VANCAMPEN, ALL THOSE NAMES THAT WERE MENTIONED.

SO PROUD OF THIS MOMENT AND CONGRATULATIONS ON A JOB WELL DONE.

[01:45:05]

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, TRUSTEE MAYFIELD.

I COULDN'T SAY IT BETTER MYSELF.

SO CONGRATULATIONS ON ACHIEVING THAT ACCREDITATION.

BUT TO HEAR YOU SAY EIGHT OUT OF THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SIX LICENSE, THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE.

THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY NINE.

YES.

GET ME STRAIGHT.

GET THE NUMBERS RIGHT.

SO CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU.

WE'RE SO EXCITED.

WE KNOW THAT THAT THE CHILD, THE EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER, SETS US APART FROM OTHER DISTRICTS AND WE KNOW THAT IT'S A RESOURCE FOR OUR STAFF HERE, AND WE'RE JUST SO PROUD.

THANK YOU, DR.

KOEHLER, FOR THE VISION.

THANK YOU, MS. BLOUNT.

I REMEMBER WHEN YOU CAME, YOU WERE THERE TO GET IT OFF THE GROUND, SO WE HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN THEIR INSTRUMENTAL WORK THAT YOU HAD.

AND THANK YOU SO MUCH NOW FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP AS WELL AS [INAUDIBLE].

ALL RIGHT, CONGRATULATIONS.

[APPLAUSE] THAT BRINGS US I'M SORRY, I'M HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY MIC.

THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM SEVEN POINT TWO BUYBOARD PURCHASING COOPERATIVE REBATE DR.

MCFARLAND.

SO MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE'RE DEFINITELY EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEXT ITEM AS WELL.

WE HAVE MS. POWERS HERE TO PRESENT THE NEXT ITEM MS. POWERS.

THANK YOU.

GOOD AFTERNOON, DR.

HALL.

DR.

MCFARLAND, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

I'M COMING TO TALK MONEY.

MY FAVORITE THING.

SO THIS REPORT ITEM THE BUYBOARD PURCHASING COOPERATIVE REBATE IS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2020 THROUGH 2021.

IT'S OUR ANNUAL REBATE AMOUNT.

AS YOU KNOW, CROWLEY ISD IS A MEMBER OF THE BUYBOARD COOPERATIVE.

THIS COOPERATIVE HELPS DISTRICTS AND OTHER GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES STREAMLINE THE PROCUREMENT PROCESS, ALONG WITH INCREASING OUR PURCHASING POWER FOR THOSE VENDORS THAT WE MAY NOT HAVE ON A PURCHASING MECHANISM AT THE TIME, AND WE WOULD LIKE TO PURCHASE FROM THEM.

EACH YEAR THE COOPERATIVE ISSUES REBATES TO ITS MEMBERS PROPORTIONAL TO THE AMOUNT OF THE PURCHASES THAT WE SPEND UTILIZING THOSE BUYBOARD CONTRACTS.

THE DISTRICT ALLOWS THE CO-OP TO COLLECT A VENDOR FEE THAT IS UP TO TWO PERCENT OF EACH PURCHASE PRICE THAT IS PAID, AND THOSE FEES ARE THEN TURNED INTO A REBATE FOR THE DISTRICT.

IN ORDER TO COMPLY WITH TEXAS EDUCATION CODE CHAPTER FORTY FOUR, THE DISTRICT MUST REPORT THE ANNUAL REBATE AMOUNT TO THE BOARD IF IT EXCEEDS TWENTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS IN WHICH IT IS.

SO CROWLEY ISD HAS RECEIVED A REBATE CHECK IN THE AMOUNT OF SIXTY FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY ONE DOLLARS FOR THE 2020 2021 FISCAL YEAR AS A RESULT OF THE DISTRICT PURCHASES MADE WITH THE COOPERATIVE CONTRACTS IN THE LAST YEAR.

CROWLEY ISD HAS UTILIZED THE BUYBOARD'S PURCHASE A VARIETY OF PRODUCTS, SERVICES, SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT.

THERE IS NO COST TO CROWLEY ISD FOR THE USAGE OF THIS COOPERATIVE OF THOSE COOPERATIVE CONTRACTS, SO THERE IS NO RECOMMENDATION NEEDED AS THIS IS JUST A REPORT ITEM AT THIS TIME THAT'S BEING PRESENTED.

BUT HOWEVER, I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE DON [INAUDIBLE].

HE IS OUR BUYBOARD COOPERATIVE REPRESENTATIVE AND HE WOULD JUST LIKE TO SHARE SOME FUN POINTER FACTS ABOUT MONEY WITH CROWLEY.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR HAVING ME HERE, DR.

HALL.

DR. MCFARLAND.

JUST SO YOU KNOW, I DO APPRECIATE EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO.

I HAVE SAT BEHIND THAT DESK BEFORE IN DR.

MCFARLAND'S SEAT, I RETIRED TWO YEARS AGO.

I DO NOT KNOW HOW Y'ALL ARE DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING NOW.

I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH OR BLESSED ENOUGH BY THE GOOD LORD TO GIVE ME ENOUGH WISDOM TO GET OUT BEFORE COVID.

AND SO I DON'T KNOW HOW SCHOOLS ARE DOING IT NOW, AND IT JUST AMAZES ME AT THE WORK YOU DO AND WHAT YOU DO FOR THE KIDS EACH AND EVERY DAY.

WHETHER ANYONE AGREES WITH YOUR DECISION OR NOT, YOU'RE HERE FOR THE KIDS.

AND SO I KNOW HOW MAKING THE DECISION IS ALWAYS GOING TO MAKE SOMEBODY ANGRY, SOMEBODY HAPPY, AND YOU HAVE TO DO WHAT'S BEST FOR KIDS.

AND I APPLAUD YOU FOR THAT AND FOR ALL THE WORK THAT YOU DO.

ALSO HAVE THE GREAT PLEASURE.

I'M GOING TO LEAVE A FEW THINGS HERE WITH IT'S NOT NEARLY AS MUCH AS YOU DESERVE, AND NOT NEARLY AS MUCH AS WELL, THEY DON'T PAY YOU ANYTHING.

THEY NEVER PAY THE BOARD ANYTHING, EVEN THOUGH YOU DO ALL THAT WORK.

I GET TO COME AND PRESENT CHECKS TO THE BOARD AND TO SAY THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE WORK YOU DO.

TO LET YOU KNOW THAT TASB IS HERE FOR YOU TO HELP YOU.

I LIVE CLOSE.

I COME QUITE OFTEN.

I'M HERE TO BE REACHED OUT TO INDIVIDUALLY AS BOARD MEMBERS.

[01:50:01]

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR THINGS YOU CAN ASK ME, I WILL FIND INFORMATION FOR YOU IF I DON'T KNOW IT MYSELF.

I HELP WITH ANYTHING, BUT I HAVE HAD A WONDERFUL TIME WORKING WITH MS. POWERS, MR. FISCHER AND MS. ADRIAN AND ALL THEIR TEAM.

DURING THE LAST THREE YEARS THAT I CAME IN RIGHT AT THE END OF ONE AND HAD BEEN WORKING WITH THEM THE LAST TWO YEARS, THEY HAVE SAVED THIS DISTRICT THROUGH REBATES OVER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS AND THAT IS JUST WONDERFUL.

[APPLAUSE] THAT IS MONEY THAT YOU PUT BACK INTO YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT ANY WAY YOU WANT TO.

THERE IS NO STRINGS ATTACHED TO THAT MONEY.

IT CAN BE USED ANY WAY YOU WANT TO USE IT.

THAT'S NOT TO MENTION THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT THEY HAVE SAVED YOU IN THE SOFT COST OF HAVING TO GO OUT FOR RFPS AND HAVING TO PUT STUFF IN THE PAPER AND WAIT FOR THAT TO COME IN AND HAVE THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE TO GO THROUGH THOSE AND GRADE EVERYTHING.

SO THERE'S A LOT MORE TO IT THAN JUST THAT.

AND IT'S MY PLEASURE TO PRESENT Y'ALL WITH THE CHECK.

AND IF YOU'VE WALKED DOWN THE HALLWAY, I SAW THE ONE FROM LAST YEAR DOWN THERE, SO I'M SURE THIS WILL DO IT.

IT'S MY PLEASURE FOR [APPLAUSE] SIXTY FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY ONE DOLLARS.

THANK Y'ALL VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.

I KNOW IT'S A LONG NIGHT.

SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO.

AND I WOULD LIKE TO JUST TAKE A QUICK SECOND BEFORE I WRAP UP.

IT'S NOT PART OF THE AGENDA FOR THE BUYBOARD PURCHASING REBATE, BUT IT DOES DEAL WITH REBATES SO JUST QUICKLY THUS FAR FOR THIS FOR 2020 2021.

WE ALSO RECEIVED A SPONSORSHIP DUE TO PARTNERING WITH DR.

PEPPER, WHICH IS THE ANNUAL SPONSORSHIP FOR $5000.

WE RECEIVED $500 FROM SAM'S CLUB FOR A REBATE.

WE ALSO RECEIVED A LITTLE OVER $1100 FROM THE TIPS COOPERATIVE FOR REBATE DUE TO THE ANNUAL SPEND, AND WE RECEIVED THIRTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY SEVEN DOLLARS AND NINETY NINE CENTS FROM JPMORGAN CHASE BANK.

AND THAT IS DUE TO THE SUA SINGLE USE ACCOUNT THAT WE UTILIZE TO PROCESS VENDOR PAYMENTS.

NET 10.

SO SO FAR, FOR 2020 2021, WE RECEIVED A LITTLE OVER EIGHTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS IN REBATES.

[APPLAUSE] AND THIS IS JUST A REPORT ITEM, BUT IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, I'LL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO ANSWER THEM.

SO I KNOW MS. POWERS.

I KNOW THAT, WELL, YOU CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG.

WE'VE HAD THE BUYBOARD PARTNERSHIP FOR QUITE SOME TIME, BUT WE'VE NEVER REALLY EXCELLED AT THE BUYBOARD REBATE.

I DON'T KNOW BENEFIT UNTIL YOU JOIN OUR TEAM.

YES.

DO I HAVE THAT CORRECT? THAT IS CORRECT.

ALL RIGHT.

[INAUDIBLE] [APPLAUSE] SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP AND FOR GROWING THAT PROGRAM AND GETTING US GETTING EIGHTY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS JUST IN LAST YEAR ALONE AND OVER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS BACK IN OUR IN THE HANDS OF OUR STUDENTS, IN THE CLASSROOMS WITH THE PEOPLE WHO NEED THEM.

SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND THANK YOU FOR THE PARTNERSHIP, MR. DON.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU, GUYS.

ALL RIGHT.

THIS MOVES US TO OUR CONSENT AGENDA.

[8.0 Consent Agenda]

IS THAT CORRECT MR. FISHER? OK FELT LIKE YOU WERE COMING ON DOWN.

OK, THAT BRINGS US TO OUR CONSENT AGENDA.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR ANY ITEMS FROM THE AGENDA THAT BOARD MAY HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT? IF THERE ARE NO QUESTIONS OR ANY ACTIONS REGARDING THE CONSENT AGENDA, IS THERE A MOTION .

I MOVE THAT WE APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION MR. RAY.

IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SECOND MS. ROBINSON MOVE TO VOTE, PLEASE.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

THIS NOW MOVES US TO OUR CONSIDERATION, POSSIBLE ACTION ITEMS, I BELIEVE THERE ARE NO ACTION ITEMS OR CONSIDERATION FOR TONIGHT WHICH MOVES THIS INTO OUR

[10.0 Future Action Item(s)]

FUTURE ACTION ITEMS. AGENDA ITEM TEN POINT ONE DR.

MCFARLAND.

TRANSPORTATION I'M SORRY STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS.

MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE ARE DEFINITELY EXCITED TO BRING FORWARD THIS NEXT ITEM.

MR. FISHER WILL BE HERE TO PRESENT OR IS HERE TO PRESENT THIS ITEM CONCERNING THE TRANSPORTATION RFP.

MR. FISHER? THANK YOU, SIR.

GOOD EVENING, MADAM BOARD, PRESIDENT, DISTINGUISHED MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, DR.

MCFARLAND.

TONIGHT WE ARE HERE TO PRESENT TO YOU THE ADMINISTRATION'S PROCUREMENT PROCESS FOR THE SELECTION OF THE STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES PROVIDER.

WE WILL ULTIMATELY BRING THIS BACK TO YOU IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY WITH A RECOMMENDATION FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL FOR BOTH THE METHOD OF SERVICE DELIVERY AND A SERVICE PROVIDER, WHETHER OR NOT THAT BE AN INTERNAL SERVICE PROVIDER OR AN EXTERNAL SOLUTION, AND IN AN EFFORT TO REALLY JUST PROVIDE SOME CONTEXT TO THIS REALLY IMPORTANT DISCUSSION.

I'D LIKE TO BEGIN WITH A VERY BRIEF OVERVIEW OF OUR CURRENT SITUATION WITH REGARD TO TRANSPORTATION SERVICES AND BOARD, AS YOU MIGHT IMAGINE.

AND AS YOU KNOW, OUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVE IS TO TRANSPORT ALL REQUIRED OR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS FROM HOME TO SCHOOL, FROM SCHOOL TO HOME IN A SAFE AND COST EFFECTIVE MANNER ON A DAILY BASIS.

AND REALLY, THIS IS A MONUMENTAL TASK, TO SAY THE LEAST.

AND IT'S OBVIOUSLY BEEN EVEN MORE CHALLENGING IN THE MIDST OF A HEALTH PANDEMIC WHERE OUR DISTRICT HAS IMPLEMENTED SOCIAL DISTANCING PROCEDURES ALONG WITH OTHER PRECAUTIONARY PROCEDURES TO PROTECT OUR STUDENTS AND THAT CONFINED ENVIRONMENT OF A SCHOOL BUS.

SO WHO ARE OUR CUSTOMERS? I MENTIONED REQUIRED STUDENTS, AS YOU MAY KNOW, OUR DISTRICT IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO THOSE STUDENTS WHOSE INDIVIDUALIZED EDUCATION PLAN REQUIRES THE PROVISION OF TRANSPORTATION SERVICES.

ALSO.

ELIGIBLE STUDENTS ARE STUDENTS WHO LIVE TWO OR MORE MILES FROM THIS STUDENT'S CAMPUS OF THEIR REGULAR ATTENDANCE.

AND SO NEXT, YOU'LL SEE.

SOME DATA RELATIVE TO THE DAILY IMPACT OF OUR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES PROGRAM, AS YOU'LL SEE.

AS YOU'LL SEE ON A DAILY BASIS, APPROXIMATELY 3500 OR 20 PERCENT OF OUR STUDENTS ARE SERVED BY TRANSPORTATION FUNCTION.

WE THINK THAT'S SIGNIFICANT, AND THAT DOESN'T INCLUDE ALL THE STUDENTS THAT ARE PART OF OUR EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, OUR FINE ARTS AND FIELD TRIPS ON A DAILY BASIS.

AND SO OUR ENTIRE CROWLEY ISD FAMILY IS EXTREMELY APPRECIATIVE OF THE DAILY CONTRIBUTIONS MADE BY OUR TRANSPORTATION SERVICES TEAM AND BOARD, AS YOU'LL REMEMBER IN OCTOBER.

YOU GUYS APPROVED THE RETROACTIVE PAY INCREASE FOR OUR BUS DRIVERS, AND THAT INCREASED THEIR HOURLY RATE FROM $16 AN HOUR TO $19 AN HOUR.

AND SO EVEN AS OUR CONTRACT EXPIRES HERE ON JUNE 30TH, 2022.

WE'VE INCORPORATED THOSE HOURLY RATES AS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS IN OUR RFP TO ENSURE THAT OUR BUS DRIVERS AND OTHER TRANSPORTATION SERVICE EMPLOYEES ARE COMPENSATED AT A COMPETITIVE PAY RATE FOR OUR AREA.

SO EARLIER I TALKED ABOUT.

METHODS OF SERVICE DELIVERY, THERE REALLY THREE MAIN METHODS OF SERVICE DELIVERY FOR STUDENT TRANSPORTATION SERVICES, AND THOSE ARE A FULLY OUTSOURCED MODEL, A HYBRID MODEL AND A FULLY IN-SOURCE MODEL.

AND SO, JAMIE, GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE.

AND SO OUR RFP, IT ADDRESSES TWO OF THE AFOREMENTIONED METHODS OF SERVICE DELIVERY.

THE HYBRID OPTION, WHICH IS WHAT YOU'LL SEE HERE WHERE THE DISTRICT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PURCHASE OF HIS CAPITAL ASSETS, BUSSES, CAMERAS, VIDEO, RADIO AND GPS EQUIPMENT.

THE DISTRICT WOULD CONTRACT WITH THE EXTERNAL SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS.

THE HIRING, TRAINING, PAYROLL BENEFITS, HR ACTIONS AND MANAGEMENT FOR ALL TRANSPORTATION STAFF AND THE ROUTING SOFTWARE AND ALL MAINTENANCE OF THE BUS FLEET.

WITH THE FULL OUTSOURCED MODEL, THE EXTERNAL, THE EXTERNAL PROVIDER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HIRING, THE PAYROLL BENEFITS, THE HR ACTIONS OF ALL TRANSPORTATION STAFF AND THE EXTERNAL SERVICE PROVIDER ALSO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROCUREMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL CAPITAL ASSETS THE BUSSES, CAMERAS, VIDEO EQUIPMENT, SO FORTH AND SO ON.

[02:00:06]

SO OUR RFP ALSO ATTEMPTS TO ENSURE THAT THE DISTRICT RETAINS THE RIGHT TO BUILD ITS BUS FLEET AS IT BECOMES ECONOMICALLY FEASIBLE THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE CONTRACT, REGARDLESS OF WHICH SERVICE DELIVERY METHOD IS CHOSEN.

AND WE'VE INCLUDED THIS.

YOU SEE THE ITEMS HERE IN ITALICS.

AND THIS IS THE PHRASE THAT LETS THE VENDOR KNOW THAT WE WANT TO.

WE WANT TO CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN OUR RIGHT TO PURCHASE OUR BUS FLEET AND BUILD OUR BUS FLEET AT ANY POINT IN TIME, REGARDLESS OF THE SERVICE DELIVERY METHOD.

AND SO AS FAR AS EVALUATION OF EACH PROSPECTIVE OFFER IS CONCERNED, OBVIOUSLY, IN KEEPING WITH OUR OBJECTIVES OF PROVIDING A COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION, COST WILL BE ONE OF THE PRIMARY EVALUATION CRITERIA.

ALSO HEAVILY WEIGHTED IN OUR EVALUATION CRITERIA ARE THE REPUTATION AND ABILITY TO BE FLEXIBLE TO THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENTS AND OUR PROGRAMS. FINALLY, THE TIMELINE MS. POWERS CONTINUES TO RUN OUR PROCUREMENT FUNCTION WITH EXCELLENCE AS SHE'S PREPARED A TIMELINE THAT WILL ENSURE ENOUGH TIME FOR ANY FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS THAT NEED TO BE MADE AND BOARD AS YOU'LL SEE, MS. POWERS RELEASE THE BID ON YESTERDAY.

SHE'LL HAVE A PRE-BID CONFERENCE ON FEBRUARY THE 3RD.

VENDORS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT QUESTIONS FROM THEIR PRE-BID CONFERENCE ON FEBRUARY, THE 4TH MS. POWERS WILL RESPOND BACK TO THOSE QUESTIONS, TO THOSE VENDORS ON FEBRUARY THE 7TH AND THEN THE CLOSING OF THE BID WILL OCCUR ON FEBRUARY THE 10TH.

WE'LL BRING THAT BID TABULATION AND WE'LL BRING THAT BID BACK AS AN ACTION ITEM ON FEBRUARY 24TH, 2022.

AND THE CONTRACT WILL BEGIN ON JULY 1, 2022.

AND SO THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION.

IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS, I'LL ANSWER THOSE QUESTIONS NOW.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, MR. FISHER.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS AT THIS TIME FROM THE BOARD.

MR. RAY? YEAH.

SO WE TALKED ABOUT THIS IN THE C YEAH.

[INAUDIBLE] COMMITTEE OR WHATEVER.

OH, AND YOU KNOW, THE DISCUSSION COME OUT, YOU KNOW, ABOUT JUST EXPLORING THE POSSIBILITY OF BRINGING IN AN IN-HOUSE.

BUT THE TIMELINE WOULD HAVE REQUIRED THAT WE GET THE BUSSES OR STARTED THAT PROCESS BACK IN OCTOBER, RIGHT? SO OR SOME TIME AGO.

SO.

BUT I GUESS THAT'S NOT REALLY A FEASIBLE THING TO DO AT THIS POINT, RIGHT? IT'S JUST, I DON'T KNOW, I GUESS, AM I MISREMEMBERING THAT? YOU ARE NOT TRUSTEE RAY.

SO THE BUS INDUSTRY IS ALSO BEEN STIFLED.

ABSOLUTELY, ABSOLUTELY.

SO THERE'S SOME LONGER LEAD TIMES FOR THE ORDERING OF BUSSES, BUT THAT'S WHY WE PUT IN THE RFP THE ABILITY TO CONTINUE TO BUILD OUR BUS FLEET AS IT BECOMES ECONOMICALLY FEASIBLE, BUT ALSO AS THOSE BUSSES ARE AVAILABLE AS WELL.

ALL RIGHT.

I HAVE A QUESTION.

DR. HALL.

TRUSTEE DAVIS.

YOU SAID A LOT.

THIS IS A WHOLE LOT TO TRY TO COMPREHEND AT ONE TIME.

BUT HOW MANY BUSSES DO WE HAVE NOW? APPROXIMATELY TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTEEN.

THAT WE OWN.

WE DO NOT OWN ANY OF OUR BUSSES AT THIS POINT.

OK.

SO WITH THIS HYBRID OPTION.

YES, MA'AM.

AND MAYBE I'M MISUNDERSTANDING THIS, ARE WE TALKING ABOUT MAYBE MOVING TOWARD THAT AGAIN? SO I THINK WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE PREPARING THE RFP THAT IT WILL ALLOW US FLEXIBILITY TO DO THAT IF WE DECIDED THAT WE WANTED TO DO THAT, WHAT WE KNOW IS IF WE WERE TO TAKE ON ALL THE BUSSES, RIGHT, AND WE WANT TO TAKE ON THE WHOLE SYSTEM RIGHT NOW, WE COULDN'T DO IT JUST BECAUSE OF THE LEAD TIME OF GETTING BUSSES.

BUT WE CAN CREATE THIS RFP TO WHERE OVER TIME IF WE SAID, HEY, WE WANT TO, WE WANT TO PURCHASE BUSSES AS THE YEARS GO, THEN WE COULD BUILD OUR FLEET UP TO EVENTUALLY BE ABLE TO DO THAT WITHIN THE NEXT TWO YEARS, THREE YEARS, WHENEVER.

BUT THIS WAS BECAUSE OF HOW HE'S CONSTRUCTED THE RFP.

IT GIVES US THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF FLEXIBILITY.

OK, SO WHEN WE WENT INTO THIS, THIS OUTSOURCING, WE DID HAVE BUSSES.

YES, MA'AM.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THOSE? WE'VE DISPOSED OF SOME OF THOSE AND SOME OF THOSE ARE ACTUALLY INACTIVE THAT.

OK.

YES.

WE WENT INTO THIS OUTSOURCING BEFORE I GOT ON THE BOARD 10 YEARS AGO.

SO THOSE BUSSES, IF WE HEAR THEY'RE PRETTY OLD BECAUSE IT'S BEEN, I DON'T KNOW, YOU

[02:05:01]

WERE.

WAS IT JUST BEFORE I GOT ON OR I DON'T KNOW, IT'S BEEN AT LEAST 10 YEARS, SO.

IT WENT TO COUNCIL? YES, YES.

SO YEAH, THE AND I SHOULD SAY I DO.

I THINK THIS IS A GOOD OPTION.

I KNOW WE STILL HAVE TO HAVE DISCUSSION.

WE'VE GOT TO LOOK AT THE RFP.

YOU KNOW, I'VE.

LONG ADVOCATED, YOU KNOW, NOT ALL OF THIS OUTSOURCING STUFF HAPPENED BEFORE I CAME ON THE BOARD, RIGHT? AND THERE WERE REASONS FOR IT AND THERE ABSOLUTELY WERE.

AND YOU KNOW, AND I THINK THERE WAS, YOU KNOW, AND JUNE COULD SAY BETTER, BUT.

FUNDING GOT TIGHT AND THERE WASN'T MONEY TO DO THE REPLACEMENT THINGS, AND I DON'T THINK MONEY WAS SET ASIDE IN AN APPROPRIATE WAY THAT WOULD HAVE, YOU KNOW, TO DO THAT.

BUT I REALLY LIKE THIS OPTION, YOU KNOW, BECAUSE IT DOES, IT WOULD GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURCHASE, YOU KNOW? SAY, YOU KNOW, 30 BUSSES A YEAR.

SO THAT WE BUILD THEM UP AND THEN WE HAVE A REPLACEMENT CYCLE, SO THEN WE DON'T HAVE, YOU KNOW, THE THINGS THAT WE TALK ABOUT BEFORE WHAT WE'RE HAVING TO BUY THE BUSSES AND BUDGET FOR.

YOU KNOW, WE CAN DO IT.

AND IT MAY NOT BE THE WAY WE GO.

IT'S GOT TO BE DISCUSSED BY THE BOARD.

IT'S GOT TO BE ASSESSED BY THE COMMITTEE.

BUT I MEAN, IF WE DO THAT, IT WOULD GIVE US THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE BACK CONTROL OVER THE THE BUS FLEET.

I THINK IT WOULD SAVE MONEY FOR THE TAXPAYERS AND OR COULD AND THAT AND THEN WE'D HAVE IT IN A WAY WHERE WE COULD STAGGER THOSE PURCHASES OVER TIME.

SO THEN WE JUST EVERY YEAR WE DO A STAGGERED PURCHASE AND WE DON'T HAVE TO THEN WE DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS, YOU KNOW, BUDGETING WHERE WE'VE GOT A BUNCH OF BUSSES, ALL THE BUSSES ARE EIGHT YEARS OLD AND WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO REPLACE TWO HUNDRED BUSSES.

SO I THINK IT'S IT'S A VERY GOOD IDEA AND I'M VERY INTERESTED TO SEE WHAT PROPOSALS WE GET.

YES, SIR.

THANK YOU.

I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION THE $19 AN HOUR THAT WE'RE PAYING.

DID THAT REALLY SERVE US WELL? DO WE DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH WITH FINDING BUS DRIVERS? WE WERE HAVING A PROBLEM BEFORE.

YES, MA'AM.

AND NOW? WE ARE NOT HAVING THAT PROBLEM.

VERY GOOD.

[APPLAUSE] AND SO AND SO TRUSTEE DAVIS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT MR. REEVES AND DR.

MCFARLAND AND MS. POWERS AND I HAVE TALKED ABOUT.

WE'VE INCLUDED THAT $19 AN HOUR AS ONE OF OUR MINIMUM RECOMMENDATIONS.

BUT EACH YEAR, WE REALLY WANT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THAT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CONTINUE TO BE COMPETITIVE.

THAT'S GREAT FISHER, AND I JUST WANT ALSO JUST KIND OF MAKE SURE THAT AS WE'RE PUTTING THIS RFP TOGETHER, FINALIZING IT, THAT WE PUT A CLAUSE IN THERE THAT SAYS WHEN WE GIVE A RAISE TO OUR DISTRICT EMPLOYEES THAT THAT WE CREATE SPACE TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT AS WELL FOR FOR OUR OTHER EMPLOYEES AS WELL.

AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WHAT WE'VE DONE BY PRACTICE IS GO BACK AND REOPEN THE NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE WITH THE OUTSOURCE GROUPS WHEN THAT HAPPENED.

BUT AS WE'RE CREATING RFP GOING FORWARD, I THINK IT'D BE PRUDENT FOR US TO JUST PUT A CLAUSE IN.

IT SAYS WHEN WE INCREASE TEACHER SALARY, THAT WE ALSO ADJUST ALL OF OUR ALL OF OUR, YOU KNOW, ALL OUR OTHER SUPPORT.

ABSOLUTELY.

YES, SIR.

I'M SORRY.

[INAUDIBLE] AND ANOTHER THING YOU KNOW I'VE MENTIONED BEFORE, ARE WE GOING TO? CAN WE PUT IN JUST TO GET PRICING ON IT? MAYBE IT COST YOU MUCH.

MAYBE IT'S NOT WORTHWHILE, YOU KNOW, LOOKING INTO IT, BUT YOU KNOW, THE TRACKING OF THE KIDS, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, A LOT OF DISTRICTS AND I KNOW THE BUS COMPANIES HAVE IT SO THAT, YOU KNOW, THEY SWIPE THEIR CARD OR WHATEVER WHEN THEY GET ON THE BUS.

AND SO PARENTS CAN, YOU KNOW, LOOK AT AN APP AND SEE WHERE THEY'RE AT BECAUSE I KNOW EVEN WITH IT FULLY STAFFED, YOU KNOW, BUSSES DON'T ALWAYS COME ON TIME.

AND THEN PARENTS, YOU KNOW, START FREAKING OUT OR, YOU KNOW, THEY HAVE TO WAIT AROUND FOREVER AND OR, YOU KNOW, EVEN IN THE MORNING, YOU KNOW, I KNOW THERE ARE APPS NOW WHERE YOU CAN JUST TRACK THE BUS AND SEE WHERE IT'S AT.

YOU KNOW, MY NEIGHBOR GOES OUT AND WAITS IN THE FREEZING COLD BECAUSE WE LIVE.

HE LIVES WITH ME ABOUT, YOU KNOW, A QUARTER MILE FROM THE FROM THE ROAD.

SO HE DRIVES UP IN HIS GOLF CART, YOU KNOW, ALL WRAPPED ALL UP WAITING FOR THE BUS, AND HE DOESN'T KNOW IF IT CAME EARLY OR IT MIGHT BE LATE.

AND YOU KNOW, SO HE.

SO SOME KIND OF TRACKING TECHNOLOGY, WHICH I KNOW EXISTS IN THE BUS COMPANIES EMPLOY.

I JUST DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH IT COSTS.

AND I DON'T REALLY KNOW HOW EFFECTIVE IT IS.

BUT YEAH, BUT.

WANT TO TALK? MR. RAY, I JUST WANTED TO SAY I DID INCLUDE THAT A PARENT TRACKING SOFTWARE AS SOMETHING THAT IF THEY HAVE IT AVAILABLE, WE WANTED THEM TO PROVIDE US WITH ADDITIONAL DETAIL, PRICING AND ALL OF THAT.

SO THEY HAVE TO PUT TOGETHER IT'S LIKE MAYBE 10 TO 15 PIECES OF DOCUMENTATION THAT I'M ASKING THEM TO GIVE ME IN THE BID SO THAT WE CAN GO

[02:10:02]

THROUGH A THOROUGH EVALUATION, MAKE SURE THAT, YOU KNOW, IF THEY HAVE SOMETHING THAT WE DIDN'T THINK OF, WE CAN DEFINITELY TAKE A LOOK AT IT.

MR. FISHER.

YES, SIR.

I THINK A COUPLE OF SLIDES PRIOR, YOU HAD A TIMELINE AND THE CAN YOU JUST TALK BRIEFLY ABOUT THE PRE-BID CONFERENCE, WHAT THAT MEANS? YES, SIR.

WE USUALLY INVITE OUR PROSPECTIVE VENDORS AND WILL TELL THEM EVEN MORE ABOUT THE DISTRICT.

MANY TIMES WHAT WE'VE DONE IS ACTUALLY GIVE THEM A SITE TOUR OF OUR FACILITIES NOW.

I DON'T KNOW IF MS. POWERS IS PLANNING ON THAT.

WE'RE GOING TO PRE-BID CONFERENCES AT ZOOM.

IT'S A ZOOM MEETING.

SO BECAUSE OF THE COVID RESTRICTIONS, SO BUT WE WILL ALLOW OUR VENDORS TO ASK OR POSE QUESTIONS TO US.

AND WHAT WE LIKE TO DO IS WE LIKE TO HAVE THEM POSE THOSE QUESTIONS.

AND MS. POWERS WILL ACTUALLY CAPTURE ALL OF THOSE QUESTIONS IN A MICROSOFT EXCEL SPREADSHEET.

AND THEN SHE'LL SEND THE QUESTIONS AND THE RESPONSES OUT TO ALL OF THE VENDORS.

SO THE VENDORS HAVE THE BENEFIT OF RECEIVING ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK.

SO THAT'S WHAT THE PRE-BID CONFERENCE IS REALLY FOR.

MS. POWERS, I ASSUME THAT THE THE APP THAT RYAN IS TALKING ABOUT IS THAT LIKE AN UBER THING AND THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT.

YOU JUST DOWNLOAD IT.

THE KID DOWNLOADS THE APP AND LIKE, HEY, MY BUSS IS HERE IS THAT IS THAT HOW THAT WORKS? I MEAN, I'LL INVEST.

BEEN PROGRESSIVELY BETTER.

IT'S GETTING PROGRESSIVELY BETTER NOW.

SO.

OH, I'VE HEARD BEFORE, LIKE, YOU KNOW, WHEN THEY HAVE LIKE THE SWIPE CARD, THINGS THAT A LOT OF KIDS DON'T SWIPE IN OR SO THAT'S NOT NECESSARILY IDEAL, BUT IT'S GOT TO BE THE WAY IT IS NOW.

AT LEAST YOU CAN TRACK PROBABLY EASY TO TRACK THE BUS AND YOU JUST OPEN UP YOUR APP AND SEE A LITTLE BUS COME AND WHERE IT'S GOING OR WHATEVER.

YOU KNOW, IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT HARD, AND I THINK IT WOULD MAKE LIFE EASIER FOR PARENTS, FOR SURE.

ABSOLUTELY.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COMMENTS FOR MR. FISHER? ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRESENTATION TONIGHT.
