[3.0 Celebrations / Board Points of Pride ]

THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM 3.0, OUR BOARD CELEBRATIONS.

ARE THERE ANY TRUSTEES THAT HAVE ANY POINTS OF PRIDE OR CELEBRATIONS THEY'D LIKE TO SHARE THIS EVENING? I WILL, DR.

HALL. I'LL START WITH A CONGRATULATIONS TO CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS PROGRAM ON CLAIMING THE DISTRICT 85A CHAMPIONSHIP OVER BURLESON HIGH SCHOOL, AND THAT IS OUR BOYS SOCCER TEAM. SO LET'S GIVE THEM A ROUND OF APPLAUSE.

[APPLAUSE] WITH THE WIN THE EAGLES IMPROVED TO AND I'LL START WITH TWO TIES, FOUR LOSSES AND SEVENTEEN WINS OVERALL AND TEN THREE ONE IN DISTRICT PLAY.

AND AGAIN, I MENTIONED OVER BURLESON HIGH SCHOOL.

ALTHOUGH THE SEASON CAME TO AN END, WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR ATHLETES.

[00:05:05]

I DON'T KNOW IF THE COACH IS HERE FROM SOCCER, BUT WE DO HAVE THE PRINCIPAL, MR. DARRELL [INAUDIBLE]. SO CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER TEAM.

TRUSTEE DAVIS.

YES, DR. HALL I AM HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THE AN AWARD GIVEN TO OUR COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT, THE [INAUDIBLE] AWARDS, THE CISD COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING TEAM BROUGHT HOME 20 STATE AWARDS FROM LAST MONTH'S TEXAS PUBLIC SCHOOL RELATIONS ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE, INCLUDING THREE BEST OF CATEGORY STATE CHAMPION MEDALS FOR THE 15,000 TO 40,000 CATEGORY.

GO COMMUNICATIONS.

CROWLEY COMMUNICATIONS.

[APPLAUSE] AND IF I CAN BRAG, MY KID WAS A PART OF ONE OF THOSE PUBLICATIONS, SO I WAS REALLY SUPER EXCITED ABOUT THAT BASEBALL PHOTO.

AND JUST ONE MORE THING.

OUR COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT IS TRULY A POINT OF PRIDE IN CROWLEY ISD, SO THANK YOU.

CONGRATULATIONS, YOU GUYS.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER POINTS OF PRIDE? I HAVE ONE. TRUSTEE ROBINSON.

MINE IS REGARDING GIFTED AND TALENTED, SO I DON'T MEAN TO BRAG, BUT AS A FORMER GT STUDENT AND.

AND THE MOTHER OF ONE.

GT IS DEAR TO MY HEART.

A FEW YEARS AGO, CROWLEY MOVED TO UNIVERSAL SCREENING.

SO THAT MEANS THAT THEY TEST ALL STUDENTS, I BELIEVE IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH SECOND GRADE. SO IN THE PAST, CROWLEY ISD HAS IDENTIFIED ROUGHLY 100 KINDERGARTENERS.

BUT THIS YEAR WE SAW A HUGE INCREASE.

140 STUDENTS WERE IDENTIFIED IN KINDERGARTEN, SO THAT'S 14% OF OUR KINDERGARTNERS.

SO THAT IS A RECORD FOR OUR DISTRICT.

[APPLAUSE] ALL RIGHT.

AND I'D JUST LIKE TO CONGRATULATE THE CROWLEY, FFA AND THE NORTH CROWLEY FFA AND ALSO THE CROWLEY NINTH GRADE RECENTLY WENT TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP OR CLAIMED SOME CHAMPIONSHIP HONORS AT THE TARRANT COUNTY JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW.

AND WE'RE REALLY PROUD OF THEM.

THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE] THANK YOU.

TRUSTEE RAY. SO MY POINT OF PRIDE IS ACTUALLY ABOUT THE CLEVELAND ORGANIZATION.

ON MONDAY, MARCH 21ST, DAVID L.

WALKER STUDENTS ENJOYED A CLASSICAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE FROM THE CLEVELAND ORGANIZATION OF FORT WORTH. I ACTUALLY DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE CLEVELAND ORGANIZATION UNTIL I VOLUNTEERED WITH JUNIOR LEAGUE, AND THAT'S WHERE I WAS FIRST INTRODUCED.

SO I THINK IT'S SUPER AWESOME THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE GETTING THIS EXPOSURE AT SUCH AN EARLY AGE. AND I WANT TO THANK THE CAMPUS MUSIC TEACHER, DR.

[INAUDIBLE] SMITH, FOR HER ENDURING COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE AND CONTINUING TO EXPOSE OUR STUDENTS TO THE ARTS.

HATS OFF TO DAVID L.

WALKER. [APPLAUSE] AND I HAVE ONE AS WELL.

MINE IS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, JUNIOR RICARDO LOPEZ ON CLAIMING THE UIL BOYS SINGLES DISTRICT 36A CHAMPIONSHIP.

SO CONGRATULATIONS [APPLAUSE] TO HIM AND TENNIS AND GREAT THINGS ON AND OFF THE COURT FOR EVERYTHING. SO IT'S VERY COOL.

GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING HERE IN CROWLEY ISD.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER CELEBRATIONS WHERE MEMBERS LIKE TO BRING FORWARD? ALL RIGHT. WELL, THEN THIS MOVES THIS ONTO OUR RECOGNITION ITEMS.

[4.0 Recognition Item(s) ]

AGENDA ITEM 4.1 THE HEARTBEAT TEAM AWARD.

MR. KIRCHNER.

THANK YOU. MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND DR.

MCFARLAND. YOU KNOW, EVERY MONTH WE GET TO SELECT ONE RECIPIENT FOR THE CROWLEY ISD HEARTBEAT TEAM AWARD, ITS EMPLOYEE WHO GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND DEMONSTRATING HEART AND ALL THEY DO FOR OUR DISTRICT. AND THIS MONTH, WE HAVE A VERY SPECIAL, BITTERSWEET WINNER.

SO YOU GIVE ME ONE SECOND.

I'M GOING GET THIS VIDEO PLAYING AND WE'LL INTRODUCE THIS MONTH'S WINNER.

CONGRATULATIONS [APPLAUSE]. COME ON OVER HERE.

COME ON.

[00:10:01]

COME ON OVER HERE. ALL RIGHT. OUR HEARTBEAT.

ALL RIGHT. SO WE JUST WANT TO SAY JUST CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU, MRS. BELL. WE ARE. WE DEFINITELY ARE.

JUST JUST GLAD THAT YOU'RE ABLE TO GET TO THIS POINT AND, YOU KNOW, EXCITED ABOUT WHAT IS TO COME FOR YOU AND JUST THANK YOU FOR THE FOR THE YEARS THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN, YOU KNOW, TO EDUCATION IN GENERAL.

BUT TO CROWLEY REALLY OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS.

WE LOVE YOU. AND WE KNOW THAT GREAT THINGS AWAIT YOU FOR SURE.

I MEAN, IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU ALL.

THIS IS THE BEST GROUP OF PEOPLE I'VE WORKED WITH.

YOU ARE SO KIND AND YOU ARE ALWAYS ON TARGET WHEN I COME THROUGH YOU.

NO MATTER. I MEAN, I MAY COME THROUGH.

SOME OF THEM SAY I HAZE THEM AND FUSS AT THEM AND DO ALL THIS OTHER STUFF.

I MIGHT DO A LITTLE BIT OF THAT BUT IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU.

YOU ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND IF WEREN'T FOR YOU, OUR KIDS WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL.

AND I KNOW RIGHT NOW I TOLD DR.

MCFARLAND I CAN LEAVE NOW BECAUSE I KNOW YOU GOT GOOD PEOPLE IN THE RIGHT PLACES AND THAT'S THE ONLY TIME YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CAN WALK AWAY FROM SOMETHING.

SO I REALLY DO.

THE APPLAUSE GOES TO YOU ALL, EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU, ALL THAT GOES TO YOU ALL.

AND I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY APPRECIATE IT.

ARE YOU CRYING? [APPLAUSE] Y'ALL SAW THE TEAR RIGHT.

WE GOT A LITTLE BIT.

WELL, MS. ISABELL, I WILL NOT SAY GOODBYE, BUT I WILL SAY SEE YOU LATER.

YOU HAVE BEEN AN AMAZING MENTOR TO ME, AND I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR WHAT YOU HAVE POURED INTO ME, AS WELL AS CROWLEY ISD AND THE WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE PROVIDED TO EDUCATION THROUGHOUT YOUR 50 YEARS OF EDUCATION.

SO THANK YOU AND I WILL SEE YOU LATER.

MS. ISABELL, I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR FOR REALLY SEEING ME AS AN EDUCATOR, AS A LEADER. I THINK THAT'S ONE OF THOSE QUALITIES THAT AS I CONTINUE MY CAREER IN EDUCATION, ESPECIALLY LEADERSHIP, I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO SEE INDIVIDUALS FOR THEIR GIFTS AND BELIEVING IN THEM. AND I TRULY BELIEVE YOU SAW ME.

AND THINGS THAT WE WERE ABLE TO ACHIEVE WAS BECAUSE OF YOU.

AND REALLY THAT BELIEF FROM AN INDIVIDUAL LIKE MYSELF.

AND I DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT ALL YOU SAW, BUT I APPRECIATE YOU FOR SEEING ME.

AND THANK YOU. CONGRATULATIONS, MS. ISABELLE. YOU DESERVE THE ABSOLUTE WORLD.

I CAN'T EVEN BEGIN TO IMAGINE HOW MANY LIVES THAT YOU'VE IMPACTED OVER THE YEARS.

I KNOW IN A VERY SHORT TIME YOU HAVE MADE SUCH AN IMPACT ON ME.

I AM BETTER BECAUSE OF YOU.

AND ANYONE THAT IS AROUND YOU FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME IS BETTER BECAUSE OF YOU.

WHEN I THINK ABOUT MRS. BELL AS AN EDUCATOR, I SEE SOMEONE WHO IS JUST REALLY PASSIONATE ABOUT, YOU KNOW, ABOUT REALLY PUTTING SYSTEMS AND PROGRAMS AND PRACTICES IN PLACE SO THAT CHILDREN WILL BE EXPOSED TO MORE THAN WHAT THEY WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE.

AND I CAN JUST THINK BACK TO EVEN WHEN I FIRST MET HER BACK IN THE EARLY I MEAN, EARLY NINETIES AND SHE HAD BEEN IN EDUCATION FOR QUITE A WHILE EVEN AT THAT POINT.

BUT I REMEMBER HER HAVING THIS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM CALLED STEP WHERE SHE WOULD WORK WITH INDIVIDUAL KIDS AND HELPING THEM TO PASS [INAUDIBLE] .

AND SHE ALSO HAD THIS BLACK HISTORY BOWL BACK THEN.

AND SO SHE'S ALWAYS BEEN LIKE SOMEBODY THAT DID LIKE WAY MORE THAN JUST TAUGHT IN THE CLASSROOM. SHE WAS ALWAYS REALLY TRYING TO INVEST.

I'VE BEEN IN EDUCATION OVER 15 YEARS, SO I'VE BEEN HERE A LONG, LONG TIME AND I'VE SEEN A LOT OF CHANGES.

I FIRST STARTED OUT AS A SECONDARY ENGLISH AND HISTORY TEACHER.

I LOVE TEACHING.

TEACHING IS THE BEST JOB IN THE WORLD, AND I TRULY BELIEVE THAT.

AS A DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT, THE MAIN THING THAT AT THIS LEVEL WE DO IS TO PUT SYSTEMS IN PLACE. SO I WORK WITH OTHER PEOPLE IN MY DEPARTMENT AND OTHER DEPARTMENTS TO PUT SYSTEMS IN PLACE THAT WILL IMPROVE STUDENT LEARNING, STUDENT GROWTH.

SO I'M VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT AND I'M ALWAYS HAPPY WHEN I'M HERE IN CROWLEY.

I'M GOING TO MISS CROWLEY GREATLY BECAUSE IT'S PART OF MY HEART.

I MEAN, I'VE GOT A NEW FAMILY HERE AND I FEEL LIKE I FEEL THAT FAMILY IS HERE WITH ME ALL THE TIME. AND I WILL MISS DR.

MCFARLAND. I WILL CALL HIM, HE WILL CALL ME.

WE WILL DISCUSS THINGS.

IT HAS BEEN A TRUE, REWARDING WALK ALONG TOGETHER WITH HIM IN EDUCATION.

AND I KNOW HE'S HE'S GOT A LOT MORE YEARS THAN I'VE GOT.

AND HE'S GOING TO DO GREAT THINGS FOR CROWLEY WHEREVER HE IS GOING TO DO GREAT THINGS.

AND SO I LOOK FORWARD TO SITTING ON THE SIDELINE AND CHEERING HIM ON.

WE BELIEVE THAT REGARDLESS OF A STUDENT'S ETHNICITY, THEIR INCOME LEVEL, THEIR HOME BRINGING, WHETHER THEIR PARENTS ARE EXTREMELY RICH OR EXTREMELY POOR, REGARDLESS OF ALL THAT STUFF. LIKE IF WE CAN PUT LIKE THE RIGHT SYSTEMS IN PLACE AND THE RIGHT STRUCTURES

[00:15:04]

IN PLACE AND HIRE PEOPLE WITH THE RIGHT PERSPECTIVE THAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE AT HIGH LEVELS, THAT WAS HER DEAL.

AND BECAUSE I WAS CLOSE TO HER, SO CLOSE TO HER, IT BECAME MY DEAL.

AND SO TOGETHER WE DID KIND OF PARTNERS IN PASSION.

THAT'S WHY IT'S NOT IT DOESN'T SEEM LIKE WORK WE HAVE HAD.

I'M LIKE 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCES TOGETHER AND JUST TO SEE HER GO FROM, YOU KNOW, COLLEAGUE TO BOSS TO ACTUALLY SUPPORTER AND THEN JUST NEVER LEFT BEING COLLEAGUES, IT'S JUST IT'S BEEN PHENOMENAL TO BE ABLE TO SEE AND TO SEE HER HAVE AS MUCH PASSION LIKE TODAY AFTER 50 PLUS YEARS AS WHAT I BELIEVE SHE HAD IN 93.

TO ME, IT'S ENCOURAGING BECAUSE IT TELLS ME THAT, HEY, YOU CAN YOU CAN CONTINUE TO DO THIS WORK FOR A LONG TIME AND HAVE A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT.

AND SO I'M DEFINITELY THANKFUL TO HAVE THAT EXPERIENCE AND HAVE HER AS A MODEL.

I'M GLAD. I FEEL PROUD.

THE FACT THAT WE'RE ABLE TO AT LEAST RECOGNIZE HER AS A HEARTBEAT WINNER BECAUSE BECAUSE SHE'S BEEN THERE FOR CROWLEY ISD AND SHE'S BEEN THERE FOR ME.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THIS MONTH'S HEARTBEAT WINNER IS, MS. CONNIE ISABELL.

[APPLAUSE] WELL, MS. ISABELLE, I KNOW SOME OF US SHARE THOUGHTS WITH YOU AT YOUR RETIREMENT GATHERING, BUT JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO NOT ONLY CROWLEY ISD, BUT FOR YOUR SERVICE TO THE FIELD OF PUBLIC EDUCATION.

WE STAND ON MANY PEOPLE'S SHOULDERS, AND WE WANT TO THANK YOU FOR THE PATH THAT YOU'VE ALSO BLAZED FOR US AND THE BIG SHOES THAT YOU'VE LEFT US TO FILL.

SO I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST.

AS MS. ROSE SAID, YOU DESERVE EVERYTHING.

SO I HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL RETIREMENT.

AND IF YOU GET BORED AT ALL, YOU KNOW WHERE TO FIND US.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

THIS NOW MOVES US ON TO OUR REPORT ITEMS.

[5.0 Report Item(s) ]

OUR FIRST REPORT REPORT ITEM IS AGENDA ITEM 5.1 ARAMARK CHILD NUTRITION UPDATES AND IMPROVEMENT PLAN, DR.

MCFARLAND.

MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE ARE DEFINITELY EXCITED TO BRING FORWARD THIS NEXT ITEM.

WE WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU SOME OF THE NEW AND IMPROVED ACTIONS THAT WE HAVE GOING WITHIN OUR CHILD NUTRITION DEPARTMENT.

WE ALSO WANT TO ADDRESS SOME OF THE CHALLENGES THAT WE'VE HAD RECENTLY.

AND SO WE HAVE MR. REEVES HERE TO PRESENT THIS NEXT ITEM.

MR. REEVES. THANK YOU, DR.

MCFARLAND. DR.

HALL MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

SO I'D LIKE TO START WITH INTRODUCING TWO OF OUR NEWEST TEAM MEMBERS TO ARAMARK.

FIRST, OUR NEW GENERAL MANAGER, MS. DANIELLE ROBINSON.

SHE'S BEEN WITH ARAMARK FOR TEN YEARS, SERVED AS AN ASSISTANT FOOD SERVICE DIRECTOR FOR LUBBOCK ISD AND FOR THE PAST NINE YEARS AT WEST ORANGE COVE ISD AND OUR NEW CHEF LUCKY SPEARS. CHEF SPEARS FOR NINE YEARS WAS THE EXECUTIVE CHEF AT [INAUDIBLE] COUNTRY DAY AND HAS EXPERIENCE IN VARIOUS AREAS IN THE FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY.

SO SAY WELCOME TO CROWLEY ISD TO BOTH OF YOU.

SO WHAT I'D LIKE TO DO IS TURN THE PRESENTATION OVER TO MS. ROBINSON AND LET HER EXPLAIN TO US WHAT WE SHOULD EXPECT FROM HER AS A NEW GENERAL MANAGER FOR THE DISTRICT AND WHAT TO EXPECT FROM ARAMARK.

MS. ROBINSON. GREETINGS BOARD AND DR.

MCFARLAND, HOW ARE YOU ALL DOING TODAY? THANK YOU, FIRST AND FOREMOST, FOR ALLOWING ME THE TIME TO MEET WITH YOU ALL AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE CROWLEY ISD.

I AM VERY EXCITED AND PROUD TO BE HERE AND I LOOK FORWARD TO CONTINUING TO STRENGTHEN THE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DISTRICT.

I ALSO AM THANKFUL THAT WE HAVE A GREAT TEAM OF I WORK WITH A GREAT TEAM OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE DIFFERENT SKILLS AND TALENTS THAT WERE ABLE TO HELP IMPROVE AND MAKE A POSITIVE, IMPACTFUL, AND [INAUDIBLE] ON OUR CURRENT PROGRAM THAT WE HAVE.

[00:20:06]

WE CAN, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE WANT TO CONTINUE AS A GENERAL MANAGER, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CONTINUE TO AID IN THE LEARNING PROCESS AND MAKE SURE THAT OUR KIDS ARE LEARNING READY. WE ALSO WANT TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE TO DO EDUCATIONAL, FUN EDUCATIONAL, HEALTHY ACTIVITIES WITH THE STUDENTS BEING ABLE TO UTILIZE OUR DIETITIAN AS WELL AS OUR NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF, CHEF LUCKY.

SO FAR, I'VE MET WITH 19 OF THE PRINCIPALS AND I WILL CONTINUE TO MEET WITH THE REST OF THEM. AND MY PLAN IS TO CONTINUE TO MEET WITH THEM VERY REGULARLY, AS WELL AS SEND MR. RANDY A DIFFERENT BULLET POINTS WEEKLY ABOUT WHAT'S GOING ON IN OUR DEPARTMENT, WHETHER IT'S DEALING WITH THE NUTRITION ASPECT, THE MARKETING, DIFFERENT PROMOTIONS, AS WELL AS ANY REGULATION UPDATES THAT WE MAY HAVE.

NOW, WITH THAT BEING SAID, I WANTED TO ADDRESS SOME OF THE NEGATIVE FACEBOOK POSTS, SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS THAT WE HAVE HAD.

I KNOW THAT WE'VE FALLEN SHORT OF SOME OF THE EXPECTATIONS, BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE ADDRESS THAT AND REASSURE YOU ALL THAT WE'RE WORKING TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CONTINUE TO PROVIDE THE BEST QUALITY FOOD AS WELL AS SERVICE AS POSSIBLE.

SO DURING THE SPRING SEMESTER, THERE WAS A THREE NEGATIVE SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS WITH COMMENTS ABOUT PRODUCTS BEING OVERCOOKED AND HAVING DISCOLORATION.

THROUGH OUR INVESTIGATION, WE WERE ABLE TO CONTACT ALL THREE INDIVIDUALS THAT CREATED THE POST. OUR INVESTIGATION RESULTS ARE AS FOLLOWS.

WITH THE BEEF PATTY, WE FOUND THAT TO BE OVERCOOKED AND IMMEDIATELY REMOVED IT FROM SERVICE WITH THE CORN DOG UPON INSPECTION OF THE REMAINING PRODUCT ON SITE, THERE WAS NO OTHER ISSUES IDENTIFIED AND WITH THE POPCORN CHICKEN WE FOUND IT WAS SAFE TO EAT AND A SMALL PORTION OF THAT HAD ACTUALLY BEEN BURNT BY THE OVEN.

AFTER FULL INVESTIGATION, ALL STAFF WAS REMINDED OF THE PROCEDURES AND WE RETRAINED TO ENSURE THAT QUALITY CONTROL AT ALL OF OUR SERVICE POINTS ON ALL OF OUR CAMPUSES WERE MET AND IMPLEMENTED.

AS A PART OF OUR IMPROVEMENT PLAN, WE'VE ELEVATED WE'VE ACTUALLY CONTINUING TO ELEVATE OUR FOOD TO THE TOP TIER, WHICH, AS YOU CAN SEE, IS THE 100% BEEF PATTIES.

AND THE CHICKEN PRODUCTS ARE 100% WHOLE MUSCLE.

AND WE ADDED AN ADDITIONAL MADE TO ORDER OPTION AT ALL OF OUR SECONDARY CAMPUSES.

AND THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE ARE CONTINUING TO DO AND HAVE [INAUDIBLE] AND WORKING WITH OUR VENDORS TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE THE PRODUCTS THAT WE NEED.

SO OF COURSE, EVERY YEAR WE DO A STUDENT VIEWPOINT SURVEY WHICH ALLOWS US TO GET FEEDBACK FROM OUR STUDENTS.

AND THIS YEAR WE INCLUDED PARENTS FOR THE PRIMARY SCHOOLS.

WHAT I'M GOING TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL ARE CURRENTLY JUST PRELIMINARY RESULTS THAT WE'VE GAINED FROM THE SURVEY AS THE SURVEY CLOSED THE LAST WEEK, FRIDAY ON THE 25TH.

BUT WE DID WANT TO AT LEAST SHARE SOME OF THE PRELIMINARY RESULTS THAT WE RECEIVED.

SO AT THE MIDDLE AND THE HIGH SCHOOL, WE HAD 1006 SURVEYS SUBMITTED, 26% OF THAT SAID THAT THEY WERE RECEIVING AN EXCELLENT DINING EXPERIENCE, AND 48% SAID THAT THEIR DINING EXPERIENCE IS AVERAGE.

SO WITH BREAKFAST, WE SEE THAT MOST OF THE KIDS ENJOY BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL BECAUSE IT'S CONVENIENT. THE MAJORITY OF THE STUDENTS WHO DO NOT EAT BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL IS BECAUSE THEY NORMALLY DON'T EAT BREAKFAST, WHETHER IT'S AT HOME.

BUT WHAT WE DID FIND WAS THAT A LOT OF THE POPULAR BREAKFAST ITEMS WERE MUFFINS, PASTRIES, PANCAKES, WAFFLES, SMOOTHIES, YOGURT, AND CEREAL.

SOME OF THE LEAST FAVORITE WERE THE BREAKFAST SANDWICHES, BURRITOS, AND MEATS.

SOME ITEMS THAT WERE REQUESTED WERE THE WAS THE COFFEE, SMOOTHIES, THE ACAI BOWLS AND OUR TO GO BREAKFAST.

AND FOR LUNCH, WE FOUND THAT FREE LUNCH IS THE TOP REASON STUDENTS EAT WITH US AT THE SCHOOLS. WE FOUND THAT TOP LUNCH ITEMS CONSISTED OF PIZZA, TORTILLA, CHICKEN STRIPS, AND CHICKEN TENDERS.

ITEMS REQUESTED, OF COURSE, AGAIN, WERE COFFEE SMOOTHIES, AMERICAN REGIONAL FOODS, SOUPS, OR NOODLES. AND SOME OF THE FAVORITE FOODS WERE AMERICAN, MEXICAN, AND CHINESE.

AND OVERALL, THE STUDENTS ARE MOST SATISFIED WITH THE CAFETERIA STAFF AND SERVICE AND THE TASTE OF FOOD. SO IN ORDER TO ADDRESS SOME OF THE FEEDBACK THAT WE GOT, WE WERE ABLE TO ACTUALLY OPEN UP THE PANTHER COFFEE SHOP AT NORTH CROWLEY NINTH.

AND HERE YOU CAN SEE SOME STUDENTS ENJOYING SOME COFFEE.

BUT IN A PICTURE OF OUR COFFEE BAR, WHERE WE DO SMOOTHIES AND COFFEES IN THE MORNING, AND OF COURSE, THEY CAN OBTAIN A FREE BREAKFAST FROM THERE AS WELL.

[00:25:04]

AT OUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, WE HAD 209 SURVEYS THAT WERE SUBMITTED.

54% ARE HAVING AN EXCELLENT DINING EXPERIENCE, AND 32% SAY THAT THEIR DINING EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN AVERAGE.

FOR BREAKFAST, MOST STUDENTS ENJOY BREAKFAST AT SCHOOL BECAUSE OF HOW ACCESSIBLE IT IS.

AGAIN, WITH THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, WE FOUND THAT THE POPULAR ITEMS WERE PANCAKES, WAFFLES, FRENCH TOAST, MUFFINS, PASTRIES, DONUTS AND CEREAL.

AND ALONG WITH THAT, OUR ITEMS REQUESTED WERE SMOOTHIES, ACAI BOWLS TO GO BREAKFAST EGGS, SCRAMBLE BOWLS AND TOP TOAST FOR LUNCH.

WE HAVE FREE LUNCHES.

THE TOP REASON STUDENTS EAT SCHOOL LUNCH.

AND OF COURSE, ONE OF THEIR FAVORITE ITEMS ARE PIZZAS, BURGERS, CHICKEN STRIPS, TENDERS, TACOS, BURRITOS AND NACHOS.

AND DIFFERENT ITEMS THAT WE HAVE THAT WERE REQUESTED WERE SMOOTHIES, ACAI BOWLS, SOUPS, NOODLES, AMERICAN REGIONAL FOOD.

AND THEN WE FOUND THAT THE FAVORITE FOODS WERE AMERICAN, MEXICAN AND CHINESE.

AND WE KNOW THAT TASTE IS IMPORTANT IN THE DINING EXPERIENCE.

AND OVERALL, THE STUDENTS WERE SATISFIED WITH THE CAFETERIA STAFF, SERVICE AND TASTE OF FOOD. AND I WILL TURN IT BACK OVER TO RANDY.

SO ANOTHER ITEM THAT WE'RE LOOKING AT AS PART OF OUR RECYCLING PROGRAM IS THE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT THAT YOU SEE HERE.

THIS IS A STYROGENIES.

AND WHAT THIS THING DOES IS THROUGH THE PROCESS OF [INAUDIBLE], IT'LL TAKE A LARGE AMOUNT OF THE STYROFOAM TRAYS AND REDUCE IT DOWN INTO A VERY SMALL BRICK.

THE PIECE OF EQUIPMENT HAS THE CAPABILITY OF TAKING 1800 TRAYS AND PRODUCING TWO BRICKS THAT ARE ABOUT 15 BY 18 INCHES.

SO CHECKING AROUND WHAT DISTRICTS THAT HAVE ALREADY IMPLEMENTED THIS PROGRAM, HOUSTON ISD HAS DONE IT FOR SOME TIME NOW.

LEWISVILLE ISD, ROUND ROCK, AND DRIPPING SPRINGS, ISD AND WHAT IT DOES IS IT GIVES YOU THE ABILITY TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF WASTE BINS THAT ARE AT THE LOCATION THAT THIS PIECE OF EQUIPMENT IS. AND SO YOU CAN SEE THAT IT MEETS EIGHT OF THE 13 US GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL CHARACTERISTICS.

AND SO OUR PILOT PLAN IS TO START AT THE TWO HIGH SCHOOLS, THE TWO NINTH GRADES AND CTE.

WE WILL FACE THEM IN FOR THE START OF FALL '22 AND THEN WE WILL WORK THROUGH THE REST OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOLS AND ELEMENTARY CAMPUSES.

AND SO THIS CONCLUDES OUR PRESENTATION, AND WE'LL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE. ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD? TRUSTEE RAY. YEAH, THE FIRST THING IS I LOVE THE STYROGENIES THING.

I MEAN, THAT'S WE GOT TO DO SOMETHING BECAUSE THERE'S SO MUCH WE THROW IN, SO MANY OF THOSE, I DON'T KNOW.

LIKE I SAID, YOU KNOW, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF THOSE INTO LANDFILLS EVERY YEAR.

AND THAT'S JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE.

AND WE'VE GOT YOU KNOW, WE STARTED, YOU KNOW, THE THE SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE AND LIKE, THIS IS THE KIND OF THING WE SHOULD BE WORKING ON.

SO I'M REALLY HAPPY ABOUT THAT.

ALSO, I WANT TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS FOR COMING ON BOARD.

YOU KNOW, WE'RE HAPPY TO HAVE YOU, IT'S A.

THANK YOU.

A YOU KNOW, A CHALLENGING TIME TO COME ON BOARD.

YOU GOT YOUR HANDS FULL.

I JUST, LET ME SAY THIS I HAVE LONG BEEN SKEPTICAL OF OUR OUTSOURCING ENDEAVORS.

SO, YOU KNOW, WE STARTED THIS BEFORE I CAME ON THE BOARD TEN YEARS AGO, SO PROBABLY 11 OR 12 YEARS AGO THAT THEY STARTED.

THE ONE THING THAT ARAMARK HAS DONE, AND I GUESS BECAUSE I'M KIND OF LEANING SOME OF THIS FROM PEOPLE THAT WERE HERE WHEN I WASN'T IS, YOU KNOW, OUR FOOD SERVICE DEPARTMENT LOST MONEY EVERY YEAR, I GUESS, BEFORE, AND HAD A HARD TIME JUST REALLY MAINTAINING.

AND SO ONE THING THAT THE ARAMARK HAS DONE VERY WELL IS TO MAKE THE FOOD SERVICE PROFITABLE. BUT, YOU KNOW, WE TALKED ABOUT IT AGAIN, I BROUGHT IT UP YEARS AGO.

YOU KNOW, WE'VE GOT TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD.

AND I JUST.

YOU KNOW, OUR KIDS, THEY CAN HAVE THE BEST FOOD THAT WE CAN GIVE THEM BECAUSE I JUST I FEEL LIKE IT'S, YOU KNOW, YOU'VE SEEN.

BUT SO YOU'VE GOT YOUR HANDS FULL.

BUT I'M SURE YOU'RE UP TO THE TASK AND I LOOK FORWARD TO WORKING WITH YOU.

BUT LET'S JUST WE GOT TO MAKE SURE THAT THE QUALITY OF THE FOOD THAT WE'RE GIVING OUR KIDS IS THE BEST.

[00:30:03]

AND WHAT AND I GUESS I DO HAVE ONE QUESTION.

THE ON BOTH OF THOSE THAT SAID THAT THE FAVORITE FOODS ARE AMERICAN, MEXICAN, AND CHINESE. SO WHAT DON'T THEY LIKE ITALIAN? [LAUGHTER] THAT'S THE SAME QUESTION I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW, BUT WE'RE ACTUALLY GOING TO ROLL OUT ANOTHER SURVEY SO THAT WE CAN GET A LITTLE BIT MORE DETAIL, ESPECIALLY AS WE GO INTO THE THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR WITH OUR PLANNING AND MENU PLANNING, WE'RE GOING TO ROLL OUT ANOTHER SURVEY TO THE STUDENTS SO WE CAN GET A LITTLE BIT MORE SPECIFIC AS FAR AS THOSE INDIVIDUAL ITEMS WITHIN THE AMERICAN AND THE MEXICAN AND THE CHINESE.

BUT YEAH, THAT WAS THOSE ARE THE TOP ONES THAT THEY LIKE THE MOST.

YES, SIR. THANK YOU.

TRUSTEE MAYFIELD. YES.

JUST A QUICK COMMENT AND THEN A QUESTION.

SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE PRESENTATION AND I'LL ECHO MR. RAY. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW POSITION.

THE QUESTION I HAVE IS YOU MENTIONED ACTIVITIES FOR THE STUDENTS.

SO NUTRITIOUS ACTIVITIES.

IS THERE A CAN YOU KIND OF SHARE SOME EXAMPLES OF WHAT THOSE ARE? AND THEN ALSO A MARKETING PLAN POSSIBLY TO, I GUESS, TO REFRESH OR RESTART OUR NUTRITION PROGRAM WITH THE STUDENTS.

IS ANYTHING PLANNED LIKE THAT? ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE LOOKING AT IS NOW THAT WE HAVE OUR CHEF ON BOARD, IS GIVING HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO FUN SHOWCASES FOR THE KIDS DURING LUNCH, AS WELL AS BEING ABLE TO WORK WITH THEM SO THAT WE CAN HAVE A LITTLE BIT MORE OF THE STUDENTS TOUCH ON SOME OF OUR MENUS. SO JUST KIND OF DEALING WITH SOME OF THE REGULATIONS, GIVE HIM THE OPPORTUNITY TO WORK WITH THEM SO THAT THEY CAN DEVELOP, YOU KNOW, MAYBE A SPECIALTY BURGER THAT WE CAN CALL THE CROWLEY BURGER OR A DIFFERENT SPECIALTY SAUCE AS WELL AS UTILIZING OUR DIETITIAN. SHE DOES FUN FACTS WITH OUR FACEBOOK PAGE.

WE POST THOSE THINGS, BUT SHE DOES DIFFERENT VIDEOS TALKING ABOUT A HEALTHY EATING AND CREATING DIFFERENT, YOU KNOW, FUN, NEAT, HEALTHY SANDWICHES THAT THEY CAN HAVE LITTLE CUCUMBER SANDWICHES WHEN THEY GET HOME, QUICK AND EASY, THINGS THAT THE KIDS CAN MAKE.

SO THOSE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'RE WORKING ON.

AND THEN, OF COURSE, WITH OUR MARKETING MANAGER, SHE'S GOING TO HELP US MAKE SURE THAT WE STAY ON TOP OF ALL OF OUR MARKETING ENDEAVORS.

WONDERFUL. AND I WOULD JUST ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE OUR TEAMS, OUR STUDENTS AT CTE.

WE HAVE STUDENTS IN THOSE PROGRAMS. SO WE'D LIKE TO. YES, THAT IS ACTUALLY ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO DO AS WELL AS WORK WITH THOSE CTE STUDENTS SO THAT ESPECIALLY ONES IN THE CULINARY ARTS DEPARTMENT.

YES, MA'AM. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU. TRUST MAYFIELD. ARE THERE ANY OTHER? TRUSTEE DAVIS? I COULDN'T HELP BUT NOTICE ALL OF THE THINGS THE STUDENTS LIKE FOR BREAKFAST ARE SWEETS.

YES. AND SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT THAT, BUT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT MARKETING.

COULD THE MARKETING SOMEHOW INTRODUCED SOME OTHER IDEAS FOR BREAKFAST? THAT WILL PROBABLY IMPACT THE SURVEY.

I KNOW. I'M SURE YOU KNOW IF YOU DON'T OFFER THOSE THINGS, BUT I'M JUST THINKING THAT MAYBE SOME OTHER CHOICES AND I DON'T EVEN KNOW FRUITS AND I DON'T KNOW.

BUT EVERYTHING WAS SWEET THAT THEY SAID THEY LIKED AND.

YEAH, I DON'T KNOW.

YES, MA'AM. THAT'S KIND OF ONE OF THOSE.

YOU KNOW, YOU TRY TO ENCOURAGE THE KIDS TO EAT OTHER THINGS, LIKE MAYBE GET SOME EGGS AND SOME TOAST AND THOSE TYPES OF THINGS.

BUT THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO GO TOWARDS THOSE THOSE SWEETS.

BUT WE DO HAVE OUR MENU AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE.

SO AT LEAST SOME OF THE KIDS AS WELL AS THE PARENTS CAN SEE WHAT WE'RE OFFERING.

BUT ANY TIME THAT WE DO ANY DIFFERENT TYPE OF PROMOTIONS, WE TRY TO AT LEAST PROMOTE AT LEAST A WEEK IN ADVANCE SO THAT THE KIDS CAN BUILD UP THAT ENTICEMENTS OF LIKE, OH, WE HAVE SOMETHING NEW, WE HAVE SOMETHING EXCITING, LET'S GO AHEAD AND TRY IT.

BUT THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE TO WORK ON AS WELL AS KIND OF GETTING THEM, YOU KNOW, OUT THE SWEETS.

OF COURSE, WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE THE THINGS THAT THEY LIKE, BUT AS WELL AS GIVE THEM THOSE OTHER OPPORTUNITIES.

LIKE I SAID, I KNOW IT'LL IMPACT THE SURVEYS, SO WE'LL TRY.

YES, MA'AM. THANK YOU.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? SO I HAD A FEW QUESTIONS, IF YOU DON'T MIND.

MS. ROBINSON, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW ROLE.

THANK YOU. WERE YOU AWARE OF THE CHALLENGES THAT WE WERE FACING BEFORE YOU ACCEPTED THE ROLE? I'M JUST CURIOUS.

I KNEW A LITTLE, BUT NOT EVERYTHING.

BUT IT DOESN'T BOTHER ME.

I'M READY TO TAKE IT ON.

OKAY AND SO WHEN I LOOK AT SOME OF THE INTERVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN TAKEN PLACE, AND I

[00:35:01]

PROMISE YOU, I'M NOT TRYING TO GRILL YOU ON IT AT THIS POINT, I THINK THE THING THAT CONCERNS ME MOST IS PROBABLY THE EXPECTATION OF SUPERLATIVE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR OUR CAFETERIA WORKERS.

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE REASON FOR THE FOOD IS EITHER IT WASN'T PREPARED CORRECTLY, OVERCOOKED, OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

AND SO I DON'T KNOW WHO TO ASK IF WE'VE HAD THESE PROBLEMS BEFORE, IF THESE PROBLEMS ARE NEW ISSUES OR THESE THINGS ARE JUST, YOU KNOW, SURFACING OR WE'RE JUST, I DON'T KNOW, JUST, YOU KNOW, ONE TIME SOMETHING BAD HAPPENS, THEN IT BECOMES A TREND AS FAR AS THE POSTING PART OF IT. SO MAYBE WE'VE ALWAYS HAD ISSUES, I DON'T KNOW.

BUT I WAS JUST KIND OF WONDERING ABOUT THE ONGOING TRAINING, THE REINFORCEMENT, THE LEVEL OF EXPECTATIONS FOR THE FOOD THAT WE'RE SERVING.

YES, MA'AM. WE HAVE BIWEEKLY TRAININGS WITH THE MANAGERS TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE REITERATING CERTAIN FOCUSES THAT WE NEED TO MAKE SURE AS FAR AS THE QUALITY CONTROL, WE GIVE THEM DIFFERENT PITCHERS JUST TO SAY, HEY, IN THIS TYPE OF SCENARIO, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? OR HOW DOES THIS LOOK OR WHERE DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS? AND WE ALSO HAD SOME OTHER ARAMARK TEAM MEMBERS COME OUT TO HELP JUST LOOKING FOR AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY TO HELP IMPROVE AS WELL AND WORKING WITH OUR CAFETERIA STAFF JUST TO KIND OF SHOW THEM THIS IS HOW WE FOLLOW CERTAIN RECIPES AND JUST HELPING TO MAKE SURE, JUST LOOKING FOR DIFFERENT THINGS THAT WE HAVE TO MAKE SURE THAT WE MAINTAIN THAT QUALITY.

AND THEN OF COURSE, THAT WILL BE ONE OF THE ADDITIONAL TASKS THAT CHEF LUCKY WILL DO, AS WELL AS JUST CONTINUING TO MAKE SURE, AS WELL AS ALL OF US WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE MAINTAINING THAT QUALITY.

AND HONESTLY, JUST DO TRAINING IS AS MUCH AS NEED AS WE NEED TO TO MAKE SURE WE'RE ON TOP OF IT. AND I GUESS MY SECOND QUESTION WOULD BE ABOUT THE PROCESS OR THE EXPECTATION FOR STUDENTS WHEN THEY DO RECEIVE FOOD THAT MAY BE OF POOR QUALITY.

I MEAN, I WOULD EXPECT MY SON OR MY CHILD TO TELL ME ABOUT THE FOOD AT HOME.

BUT WHAT WHAT SHOULD THE STUDENT DO IF THEY RECEIVE SOMETHING THAT'S NOT UP TO QUALITY AS OPPOSED TO TAKING IT HOME OR TAKING A PICTURE AND PUTTING ON SOCIAL MEDIA? IS THERE ANY MESSAGING OR EXPECTATION OR SOMETHING COMMUNICATED TO STUDENTS WITH REGARDS TO QUALITY FOOD? WE'LL MAKE SURE THAT IT'S COMMUNICATED ACROSS THE BOARD, BUT WE DO ENCOURAGE THE STUDENTS TO LET THE MANAGERS KNOW.

AND THE MANAGERS DO THAT ON THE GROUND, ON THE CAMPUSES.

AS WELL A LOT OF THEM, AS YOU ALL KNOW, CAN HAVE BEEN HERE FOR SOME YEARS AND HAVE AN IDEA OF WHO THE STUDENTS ARE AND KNOW THEM BY NAME.

BUT WE DEFINITELY ENCOURAGE THEM TO, LIKE, LET US KNOW IF THEY'RE NOT SATISFIED WITH SOMETHING THAT THEY RECEIVED OR THEY DON'T LIKE ANYTHING.

YOU KNOW, OF COURSE WE'LL TAKE THAT TRAY AND GIVE THEM SOMETHING THAT THAT THEY WANT SO THAT THEY DON'T FEEL LIKE THEY HAVE TO BE STUCK WITH IT THAT THEY DON'T LIKE.

BUT WE DEFINITELY ENCOURAGE THEM TO GIVE US CONSTANT FEEDBACK SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO MAKE SURE WE ARE IMPROVING.

I BELIEVE THOSE ARE ALL THE QUESTIONS THAT I HAVE.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS FROM THE BOARD? ALL RIGHT. WELL, THANK YOU.

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR TIME.

WELCOME TO THE CROWLEY ISD FAMILY, YOU AND BOTH, CHEF LUCKY.

YES, THANK YOU. WE'RE EXCITED TO BE HERE.

OKAY BEFORE WE MOVE TO OUR.

BEFORE WE MOVE TO OUR NEXT AGENDA ITEM, WE ARE GOING TO REVISIT AGENDA ITEM 4.1 RECOGNITION ITEMS. DR. MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING US TO GO BACKWARDS FOR A SECOND. I AFTER OUR HEART BEAT AWARDS, I WAS KIND OF LOST FOR WORDS.

I FOUND THEM NOW SO I'M BACK.

A COUPLE OF THINGS I LIKE TO DO.

ONE IS I LIKE TO LIKE TO RECOGNIZE CITY COUNCILMAN MR. SHOTWELL IN THE OFFICE EXCUSE ME, IN THE AUDIENCE.

WHY DON'T YOU [INAUDIBLE]? WE WANT TO GIVE YOU A RECOGNITION AND JUST [APPLAUSE] REALLY WANT TO THANK THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE MAYOR AND OTHERS FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT ARE GOING ON DOWNTOWN.

IF YOU ALL HAVE BEEN THROUGH DOWNTOWN CROWLEY, YOU DEFINITELY NOTICE, IT DEFINITELY LOOKS NICE AND WE KNOW THAT IT WILL CONTINUE TO GET BETTER.

SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR BEING PRESIDENT FOR SURE.

WE ALSO WANT TO RECOGNIZE THE DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT, DR.

HARRELL WRIGHT. DR. WRIGHT, IF YOU'LL STAND, PLEASE.

DR. WRIGHT WILL BE JOINING US.

[APPLAUSE] HE ACTUALLY HAS JOINED US AND HE'S TAKING THE BATON FROM MS. ISABELL. SO THANK YOU, DR. WRIGHT, FOR BEING BEING PRESENT FOR SURE.

AND THEN REALLY THE LAST ITEM, YOU KNOW, OUR THEME HERE THIS YEAR AND REALLY FOR THE F ORESEEABLE FUTURE IS ACT LIKE A FAMILY AND WORK LIKE A TEAM.

WELL, ON SATURDAY, APRIL THE NINTH, WE'RE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE WILL HAVE A 2022 SPRING FAMILY FESTIVAL FESTIVAL.

THIS FESTIVAL WILL OCCUR AT BRJ AND WE WILL HAVE BOTH A CAREER FAIR OR WHAT WE'RE CALLING A JOURNEY FAIR FOR OUR TEACHERS AND PARAPROFESSIONALS.

[00:40:01]

WE ALSO WILL HAVE A SCIENCE AND STEM FAIR FOR OUR STUDENTS TO BE FROM 9:30 TO 3:30.

WE ALSO HAVE PRE-K REGISTRATION AND KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION THAT WILL OCCUR FROM 11 A.M. TO 4 P.M.

AND THEN WE HAVE A LISTENING LEADERS, A TALK SHOW THAT WILL BE LED BY STUDENTS AND THE STUDENTS WILL BE TELLING US WHAT THEY NEED.

SO AGAIN, THAT ON SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH, THAT'S A FULL DAY, EXCITING DAY IN CROWLEY ISD YOU'LL SEE OTHER COMMUNICATION ABOUT THIS.

BUT WE'RE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING A GREAT DAY AT [INAUDIBLE] JOHNSON CAREER TECHNOLOGY CENTER TO BOTH REGISTER KIDS, SIGN UP NEW EMPLOYEES AND ALSO JUST CELEBRATE EACH OTHER. SO THANK YOU ALL FOR, YOU KNOW, PAYING ATTENTION TO THAT DATE AND ATTENDING, IF YOU CAN. THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT. THAT'S SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH.

PUT ON YOUR CALENDARS.

ALL RIGHT. THAT'S NOW BRINGS US TO OUR OPEN FORUM AGENDA ITEM 6.0 PER BED LOCAL THE BOARD

I APPRECIATE IT.

THANK YOU. AND MR. KIRCHNER, WHO IS OUR FIRST SPEAKER TONIGHT.

MADAM PRESIDENT, OUR FIRST SPEAKER IS MS. ANGIE HUNT. MS. HUNT.BEFORE THE 5:00 CUT OFF? I'LL VERIFY THAT.MY NAME IS ANGIE HUNT, AND I LIVE IN SUMMER CREEK RANCH.

TONIGHT, I WANTED TO CONVEY THINGS THAT TEACHERS HAVE BEEN TELLING ME.

AS YOU GUYS KNOW, I'VE BEEN COMING TO THESE MEETINGS, SO PEOPLE REACH OUT TO ME AND THEY TELL ME ABOUT THEIR EXPERIENCES.

AND AS WE KNOW, WE'RE IN AN INTENSE SITUATION IN LIFE RIGHT NOW WITH OUR TEACHERS AND TEACHERS LEAVING THE FIELD.

SO I WANTED TO CONVEY SOME OF THESE THINGS SO WE COULD ADDRESS THEM HERE IN CROWLEY AND MAYBE COME UP WITH SOME INNOVATIVE IDEAS ON HOW TO ATTRACT NEW TEACHERS TO RETAIN THESE AWESOME TEACHERS THAT ARE EXHAUSTED AND BURNT OUT.

SO MY NUMBER ONE IS SMALLER CLASS SIZES ARE CRITICAL.

WE'RE HAVING ISSUES WITH KIDS GETTING LEFT BEHIND BECAUSE OF THE RIGOR THAT WE HAVE HERE.

SO STUDENTS ARE GETTING LEFT BEHIND.

THEY'RE NOT GETTING CAUGHT UP.

SO I'VE HAD MULTIPLE TEACHERS TELL ME THAT THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO TEACH ALL OF THEIR KIDS AT THE SAME LEVEL OR THEY'RE JUST LEAVING KIDS BEHIND.

AND SO THEN THEY'RE SPENDING EXTRA TIME DOING INTERVENTIONS.

AND THEN THEY ALSO TELL ME THAT THEY HAVE A LOT OF REPORTS, REPORTS, REPORTS, REPORTS, AND THAT'S EXHAUSTING.

I DID HAVE A TEACHER TELL ME THAT THEY'RE CHANGING THEIR CURRICULUM NOW.

LIKE AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, A TEACHER'S HAVING TO READJUST TO A NEW CURRICULUM.

SO I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE THOUGHT PROCESS BEHIND THAT.

SORRY, I GOT THEM MOUNTING REQUIREMENTS.

THEY SAID THEY HAVE CONSTANT ADMIN WALKTHROUGHS, BUT THEY'RE ALSO NOT GETTING SUPPORT FROM THE DISTRICT OR THE ADMINISTRATION ON BEHAVIOR ISSUES.

SO LIKE I SAID, THESE ARE ISSUES THAT MULTIPLE TEACHERS HAVE COME TO ME AND JUST EXPRESSED BECAUSE I YOU KNOW, I LISTEN.

AND THEN THEY ALSO TALKED ABOUT SOMETHING WHERE OUR STUDENTS ARE HAVING LOW MOTIVATION.

I HAVE A THEORY ON THIS, BUT, YOU KNOW, AND I ACTUALLY THINK IT'S BECAUSE WE'RE SO

[00:45:03]

TECHNOLOGY DRIVEN AND I ACTUALLY SEE IT WITH MY OWN CHILDREN AND THEIR WORK ETHIC.

AND I DON'T LIKE IT AT ALL LIKE YOU'RE MISSING ASSIGNMENTS AND THEY'RE LIKE, IT'S FINE.

I CAN TURN IT IN WHENEVER I'M LIKE, NO, I DON'T LIKE THAT.

AND SO I ALSO THINK BY GOING TO TECHNOLOGY AND NOT HAVING PAPER IN FRONT OF THEM, THEY GET LOST IN THE PROCESS.

YOU KNOW, IT'S LIKE THEY HAVE THIS BROWSER THAT HAS ALL OF THESE TABS OPEN AND THEN THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR BOOKS. SO IF THEY READ SOMETHING AND THEY WANT TO REFERENCE BACK TO SOMETHING THEY LEARNED BEFORE, THEY DON'T HAVE THAT BOOK TO SAY, I REMEMBER READING ON THIS AND I NEED TO CATCH BACK UP ON THAT BECAUSE NOW IT'S MAKING MORE SENSE.

BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THAT BECAUSE IT'S ALL ON THIS CHROMEBOOK.

AND THOSE ARE JUST SOME OF MY THOUGHTS AND MY CONVERSATIONS THAT I'VE HAD WITH TEACHERS.

SO I APPRECIATE YOUR TIME TONIGHT.

THANK YOU. [APPLAUSE] OUR NEXT SPEAKER THIS EVENING IS JOYE JACKSON LOFTON. MS. LOFTON.

GOOD AFTERNOON, I'M JOYE JACKSON LOFTON.

I'M REPRESENTING 6901 MCCART AVENUE, WHICH IS LIFE INSPIRATIONAL COMMUNITY CHURCH.

SO I COME TODAY AS AN EVANGELIST.

THIS IS THE OFFICE THAT I HOLD AT OUR CHURCH.

I WANT TO SAY THAT RUNNING FOR OFFICE AS A SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER, I'VE COME IN CONTACT WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE. AND LIKE WHAT I'VE HEARD RECENTLY ARE SOME OF THE SAME CONCERNS THAT I'VE HEARD. SCHOOL LUNCHES.

THANK GOD FOR AN ANSWER.

I LIKE WHEN THE ANSWERS COME BACK.

THAT'S WHY I HAVE A LISTENING EAR, SO THAT I CAN COME BACK.

BUT THERE'S ALSO ANOTHER LISTENING EAR AND IT'S GOD.

I HAVE TO STAND IN THIS PLACE BECAUSE THIS IS WHO I AM AND THIS IS WHAT I'M CALLED TO BE.

THERE'S A LOT GOING ON.

YES, OUR STUDENTS ARE BEHIND.

THERE'S A LOT OF ANGER.

BUT I KNOW THAT THESE PARENTS, THEY'RE SUFFERING AS WELL.

THEY'RE GOING THROUGH CHALLENGES EVERY DAY, TRYING TO GET THEIR CHILDREN UP TO SPEED BECAUSE SOME OF THEM HAVE LOW EDUCATIONS SO THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO RELATE TO THE CHILDREN. I THANK GOD FOR CROWLEY TEACHERS AND THE TRAINING THAT YOU ALL HAVE.

YOU'VE BEEN ABLE TO SATURATE AND ADVANCE AND MOVE FORWARD AND HELP THESE CHILDREN GET ALONG. I'M NOT JUST A PERSON THAT'S PREACHING THE GOSPEL OR A PERSON IS TRYING TO BE ON THE BOARD. I'M A GRANDMOTHER WITH A GRANDDAUGHTER THAT SAID DAVID L.

WALKER THAT STARTED SCHOOL JULY AND SHE IS 100 ON HER BENCHMARK.

AND I WATCH MY GRANDDAUGHTER AND SHE'S DOING THOSE CREATIVE THINGS.

AND WITH TEACHERS IN THE HOUSE AND DIFFERENT PEOPLE SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS, WE WERE ABLE TO PLANT THOSE THINGS IN THEM.

THERE IS A TEAM THAT'S COMING.

THERE IS SOMEBODY THAT'S COMING.

THERE ARE TUTORS THAT ARE COMING BECAUSE THE TEACHERS DO NEED HELP AND THEY'RE GOING TO GET THE HELP. WE'RE MAKING RESERVE PRESERVATIONS TO DO THAT, BUT BIGGER THAN ALL OF THAT.

WE'RE STANDING BEHIND THE TEACHERS, WE'RE STANDING BEHIND THE SCHOOLS, WE'RE STANDING BEHIND THE PARENTS AND WE'RE STANDING BEHIND THOSE CHILDREN AND WE'RE STANDING BEHIND PRAYING FOR THOSE CHILDREN.

AND I WANT YOU TO KNOW, PRAYER MAY NOT BE IN THE SCHOOL, BUT PRAYER IS IN US AND THAT'S WHAT WE'RE DOING. AND WE NEED OTHERS TO CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR US.

BLESS YOU FROM LIFE INSPIRATIONAL COMMUNITY CHURCH [APPLAUSE].

JUST SO EVERYBODY KNOWS, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT I SIGNED UP TO SPEAK AND I'M NOT PUT ON THE LIST, SO I'M MAKING THIS A PUBLIC.

COULD YOU PLEASE HAVE A SEAT? NO, I AM NOT GOING TO HAVE A SEAT BECAUSE I SIGNED UP.

MS. CRUZ, I HAVE A COPY OF YOUR EMAIL, AND IT WAS RECEIVED AFTER THE DEADLINE.

BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CLARIFY THAT, MS. CRUZ, THEN YOU CAN YOU CAN MEET WITH A STAFF MEMBER.

IS THERE SOMEONE THAT WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH MS. CRUZ? BUT THIS IS NOT THE FORUM OR THE PLACE.

I DID IT [INAUDIBLE]. CAN WE ASK MS. CRUZ, CAN WE ESCORT MS. CRUZ OUT INTO THE HALLWAY SO SHE CAN HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO TALK TO A STAFF MEMBER OR AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXIT THE PREMISES? SO, YOU KNOW, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED.

THANK YOU. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED.

THANK YOU. THIS CONCLUDES OUR OPEN FORUM AND NOW MOVES US TO OUR CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS.

[7.0 Consent Agenda ]

ARE THERE ANY BOARD MEMBERS OR ANY TRUSTEES THAT HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS REGARDING ANY OF THE CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS? IF THERE IS NO QUESTIONS.

TRUSTEE RAY, DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? DID WE TALK ABOUT? I GUESS DID WE TALK ABOUT THE ACCELERATION SUPPORTS LIKE IN THE LAST MEETING?

[00:50:04]

ARE YOU REFERRING TO AGENDA ITEM 7.7 AND 7.8? YES. SIX, SEVEN AND EIGHT.

SIX, SEVEN AND EIGHT. DR.

MCFARLAND.

MADAM PRESIDENT AND TRUSTEE RAY, WE HAVE DISCUSSED KIND OF WHAT WE'RE DOING WITH [INAUDIBLE] CLASS. THIS IS JUST THE JUST OUR RECEIPT OF THE ACTUAL GRANT FUNDS, BUT WE HAVE DISCUSSED WHAT WE'RE DOING WITH IT.

OKAY. ALL RIGHT. I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING ELSE.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? IF THERE ARE NO QUESTIONS OR REQUESTS FOR ACTION, IS THERE A MOTION? I WOULD MOVE THAT WE APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA AS PRESENTED.

WE HAVE A MOTION FOR APPROVAL FROM TRUSTEE RAY.

IS THERE A SECOND? SECOND. EXCUSE ME, I'LL SECOND.

WE HAVE A SECOND FROM TRUSTEE ROBINSON, MOVE TO VOTE, PLEASE.

TECHNICAL ISSUES AT ALL.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

WE'RE NOW MOVING TO OUR CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ITEMS.

[8.0 Consideration and Possible Action Item (s) ]

AGENDA ITEM 8.1 DONATION TO NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL FROM THE FAITH FIGHT FINISH FOUNDATION CREATED BY DAK PRESCOTT, DR.

MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE HAVE MR. FISCHER PREPARED TO ADDRESS THIS ITEM.

MR. FISCHER. YES, DR.

MCFARLAND. GOOD EVENING, MADAM BOARD PRESIDENT, DISTINGUISHED MEMBERS OF THE BOARD, DR.

MCFARLAND.

I BELIEVE IT WAS VICTOR HUGO, THE FRENCH POET, THAT SAID THERE'S NOTHING MORE POWERFUL THAN AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME.

AND I BELIEVE THAT THE IDEA TO ADDRESS MENTAL HEALTH IN OUR COMMUNITY, THE TIME HAS COME.

AND TONIGHT, I AM UNIQUELY PLEASED AND PRIVILEGED TO PRESENT TO YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL, A DONATION.

A DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,000 FROM THE DAK PRESCOTT FAITH FIGHT FINISH FOUNDATION TO NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

THIS DONATION WILL BE USED FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING TO BE PROVIDED BY THE SOLOMON THOMAS FOUNDATION.

AND I HAVE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL MARK KEITH WEST AND HIS GUEST, MR. CHRIS THOMAS, WHO WILL BE HERE OR WHO WILL SPEAK TO IN MORE DETAIL BOTH THE DONATION AND THE TRAINING. THANK YOU, GUYS.

GOOD EVENING, DR. HALL.

DR. MCFARLAND, DISTINGUISHED BOARD MEMBERS.

I'M SO EXCITED TO BRING DAK PRESCOTT, QUARTERBACK OF THE DALLAS COWBOYS FOUNDATION, FAKE FIGHT FINISH ALONG WITH SOLOMON THOMAS, DEFENSIVE LINEMAN FOR THE NEW YORK JETS NONPROFIT THE DEFENSIVE LINE PARTNERSHIP WITH NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

THEIR PARTNERSHIP WILL PROVIDE CURRICULUM AND TRAINING TO NORTH CAROLINA HIGH SCHOOL TEACHERS AND STAFF FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION, AWARENESS AND ACTION STEPS FOR CREATING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR STUDENTS.

AT THIS TIME, I LIKE TO SHOW YOU GUYS A SHORT CLIP.

I'M DAK PRESCOTT, QUARTERBACK OF THE DALLAS COWBOYS AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, FOUNDER OF THE FAITH FIGHT FINISH FOUNDATION.

THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING HERE TODAY FOR THE SUICIDE PREVENTION WORKSHOP FROM THE DEFENSIVE LINE AND MY FAITH FIGHT FINISH FOUNDATION.

WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DEFENSIVE LINE AND THIS VERY IMPORTANT WORK BETWEEN OUR TWO ORGANIZATIONS BECAUSE IT IS SO PERSONAL FOR US.

I LOST MY BROTHER AND BEST FRIEND JAYCE TO SUICIDE, THOUGH NOTHING CAN EVER BRING HIM BACK. HE'LL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN.

I'VE MADE A PROMISE THAT HIS LIFE WILL BE ONE TAKEN TO SAVE MILLIONS.

SOLOMON THOMAS, CO-FOUNDER OF THE DEFENSIVE LINE, LOST HIS SISTER ELLA TO SUICIDE AS WELL. OUR CURRICULUM ENCOURAGES ADULTS TO REACH OUT TO YOUNG PEOPLE STRUGGLING WITH THEIR MENTAL HEALTH TO ENSURE THAT THEY ALWAYS KNOW THAT THEY CAN ASK FOR HELP AND THAT THEIR LIVES MATTER. TODAY WILL BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT SUICIDE AND YOUNG PEOPLE AND HOW YOU AS AN EDUCATOR, COACH, COUNSELOR OR ADMINISTRATOR CAN PLAY AN ACTIVE

[00:55:01]

ROLE IN PREVENTING IT.

WE KNOW YOUR JOBS ARE EXTREMELY HARD AND YOUR SCHEDULES ARE VERY BUSY.

WE'RE NOT HERE TO OVERLOAD YOU WITH NEW WORK TO DO.

WE WANT TO GIVE YOU THE TOOLS AND LANGUAGE TO USE AND NEW QUESTIONS TO ASK SO YOU CAN BE THE BEST CONNECTOR TO THE CRISIS AND THE RESOURCE THAT EXISTS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE IN NEED OF HELP. TEACHERS, COACHES, SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS.

YOU ARE THE BACKBONE OF SOCIETY.

YOU ARE DOING THE CRITICAL WORK OF SHAPING AND MOLDING THE FUTURE.

WE HAVE DEEP ADMIRATION AND RESPECT FOR YOU.

WE'RE SO GRATEFUL YOU'LL OPEN YOUR HEARTS AND YOUR MINDS FOR A LITTLE BIT OF TIME AND HAVE A MEANINGFUL, MEANINGFUL DIALOGUE TO MOVE FORWARD ABOUT SUICIDE, MENTAL HEALTH, OUR OWN BIASES, AND A PATH FORWARD TO A MENTALLY HEALTHY CLASSROOM.

THANK YOU FOR SHOWING UP TODAY AND LISTENING AND LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE WORK WE'RE DOING WITH THE DEFENSIVE LINE.

AND THANK YOU AGAIN FOR MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT IN STUDENTS LIVES EVERY DAY.

WE'RE SO GRATEFUL FOR ALL THE WORK YOU DO.

AT THIS TIME, I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE CHRIS THOMAS, FATHER OF SOLOMON THOMAS, CO-FOUNDER OF THE DEFENSIVE LINE, WHO WILL SHARE WITH US A COUPLE OF WORDS ABOUT THE CURRICULUM AND TRAINING. THANK YOU.

MY NAME IS CHRIS THOMAS.

I THANK THE BOARD FOR ALLOWING ME TO SPEAK FOR 2 MINUTES TO TALK ABOUT THE DEFENSIVE LINE AND DAK PRESCOTT, FAITH, FIGHT, FINISH.

THE REASON WHY WE'RE HERE IS BECAUSE DAK LOST HIS BROTHER TO SUICIDE.

I LOST MY DAUGHTER ELLA TO SUICIDE IN 2018.

AND WE BELIEVE BY TRAINING PEOPLE IN THE SCHOOLS, THE TEACHERS, THE COACHES, THE JANITORS, ANYBODY WHO IS IN FRONT OF A YOUNG PERSON, PARTICULARLY YOUNG PERSON OF COLOR, CAN SAVE THEIR LIVES.

AND SO WITH DAK AND SOLOMON GETTING TOGETHER, THEY WANT TO FIND A WAY TO BRING THIS TO NORTH CROWLEY NOT JUST THIS YEAR, BUT YEARS TO COME, BECAUSE WE BELIEVE WE'VE GOT THE RIGHT FORMULA TO SHARE WITH THE TEACHERS AND COACHES HOW TO REACH PEOPLE WHO ARE NEED.

IN FRONT OF YOU, I PASSED OUT A ONE-PAGER THAT TALKS ABOUT THE DEFENSIVE LINE, WHICH IS TO END THE EPIDEMIC OF YOUTH SUICIDE, ESPECIALLY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE OF COLOR, BY TRANSFORMING THE WAY WE COMMUNICATE AND CONNECT ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH.

AND OUR WORKSHOP, WHICH IS ABOUT 2 HOURS, WORKS THROUGH THOSE TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO HELP STUDENTS, HELP TEACHERS IDENTIFY THOSE KIDS THAT NEED.

AND WE'VE HAD GREAT RESULTS TODAY.

WE'VE BEEN DOING THIS TRAINING IN COPPELL.

WE'VE DONE IT. WE'RE GOING TO DO IT IN DALLAS ISD.

WE'RE DONE IT IN CLARK COUNTY ISD.

AND ON THE BACK SIDE, YOU CAN SEE THE RESULTS.

WE'VE SEEN ALMOST A 50% INCREASE IN TEACHERS COMFORT LEVEL AND BEING ABLE TO WORK WITH STUDENTS WHO ARE IN NEED.

WE'VE SEEN 100% OF THE TEACHERS WALK AWAY WITH AN ACTION PLAN OF HOW TO WORK WITH A STUDENT IN NEED OR AT A CRISIS.

AND THE GREAT THING ABOUT IT IS THE VERBATIM THAT WE GET WHEN WE HAVE TEACHERS SAY THAT THEY NOW KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH STUDENTS AND THEY FEEL EMPOWERED TO WORK WITH STUDENTS.

WE BELIEVE THIS WILL SAVE LIVES.

I BELIEVE THAT IF THIS WAS IN PLACE, MY DAUGHTER WOULD BE HERE.

I BELIEVE DAK'S BROTHER WOULD BE HERE.

AND I WANT TO APPRECIATE AND THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING THIS OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO PROVIDE THIS TRAINING IN 2022 AND BEYOND, BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

THANK YOU, MR. THOMAS.

WERE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FROM FROM THE BOARD, FROM MR. [INAUDIBLE] OR MR. THOMAS OR MR. WEST? TRUSTEE DAVIS.

CAN I SAY SOMETHING FIRST? NO, MA'AM. OH, OKAY.

OKAY. SO, FIRST OF ALL, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE DONATION.

I DO HAVE A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS.

AND ONE IS, WHO WILL RECEIVE THE TRAINING? WILL IS IT GOING TO BE TEACHERS, COUNSELORS WHO WILL RECEIVE THE TRAINING? THANK YOU FOR THE QUESTION. THE TRAINING IS FOR THE TEACHERS, THE COACHES, THE COUNSELORS. WE TYPICALLY GET ABOUT 100 TO 150 PEOPLE IN A ROOM TO DO THE TRAINING, AND THEY WALK AWAY WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF MAKING SURE THAT THEY KNOW HOW TO DON'T IGNORE THE GUT, TO LISTEN FOR THE SIGNS OF SUICIDE, TO INTERACT WITH THE STUDENTS SO THEY KNOW HOW TO GIVE THEM THE HELP, TO NAME THE CONCERN, EVIDENCE CONCERN, AND TO CREATE A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT.

PART OF THE SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT IS WE TALK TO TEACHERS ABOUT THEIR OWN BIAS AND HOW THAT BIAS CAN NEGATIVELY IMPACT A STUDENT'S MENTAL HEALTH AND MAKING SURE THAT THEY HAVE THE RIGHT SUPPORT. SO IT'S TO THE LEADERS OF YOUNG PEOPLE, NOT THE STUDENTS.

OKAY. THANK YOU.

AGAIN, THANK YOU FOR THE DONATION.

BUT MY NEXT QUESTION IS THIS IS THAT NORTH CROWLEY? IS THERE A POSSIBILITY OF GETTING A DONATION BECAUSE WE HAVE ANOTHER HIGH SCHOOL? AND IS WHAT ARE THE POSSIBILITIES OF US RECEIVING A DONATION SO THAT THE STAFF AT THE OTHER HIGH SCHOOL CAN BE TRAINED? I COULD COMMIT TO MAKING SURE THAT HAPPENS.

[01:00:02]

I WORK WITH DAK PRESCOTT'S ORGANIZATION, SOLOMON DAK WORK TOGETHER ON THE SUICIDE PREVENTION TRAINING NOT ONLY HERE IN DALLAS, BUT ALSO NATIONALLY WITH THE AMERICAN FOUNDATION FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION.

I MEET WITH DAK'S FAITH FIGHT FINISH ORGANIZATION EVERY OTHER WEEK.

I WILL DEFINITELY MAKE SURE THAT HAPPEN.

THE OTHER THING THAT WE'RE WORKING TO DO, I WAS TALKING TO MARK KEITH BEFORE THIS MEETING IS MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH MONTH, JULY IS MINORITY MENTAL HEALTH MONTH.

ONE OF THOSE TWO MONTHS, IF NOT BOTH OF THEM WERE EITHER GOING TO HAVE DAK AND SOLOMON HERE TALKING TO STUDENTS, EITHER LIVE TIME OR VIA VIDEO.

SO THAT'S THE COMMITMENT THEY'VE MADE ALREADY THAT I WILL SAY I WILL GO ON RECORD TO SAY THAT WILL HAPPEN BECAUSE WE THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO GET TO THESE SCHOOLS.

SO WHATEVER SCHOOLS YOU HAVE THE NEED TO PROVIDE THIS TRAINING, WE WILL HAVE THE RESOURCES AND TRAINERS AVAILABLE.

THANK YOU. YOU'RE WELCOME.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM TRUSTEES? ALL RIGHT, MR. THOMAS. I HEARD YOU PROMISE TRUSTEE DAVIS.

[LAUGHTER] I LIKE TO REPEAT SO THERE'S NO CONFUSION.

THAT YOU ARE GOING TO ENSURE THAT WE RECEIVE THESE VERY IMPORTANT SERVICES.

OKAY. ALL RIGHT.

I JUST LIKE TO COMMENT TOO, JUST IN OUR INITIAL DISCUSSIONS TOO THAT, WE HAD ALREADY TALKED ABOUT PARTNER WITH MOVING ON TO CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, TOO.

SO WE'RE GOING TO START HERE, BUT OF COURSE, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE THAT EXTENSION.

WE MET AS A TEAM, MS. HARRIS, OVER THE COUNSELING DEPARTMENT, AND SO WE HAD A WHOLE DISCUSSION BEFORE.

SO THOSE OTHER PLANS.

WELL, MR. WEST, I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THE OPPORTUNITY TO THE DISTRICT.

IT'S VERY IMPORTANT, A MUCH NEEDED RESOURCE AND THE SUPPORT FOR OUR STUDENTS AS WELL AS OUR FACULTY, STAFF AND TEAM.

SO THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THAT TO US.

AND THANK YOU, MR. THOMAS, FOR YOUR COMMITMENT AND FOR YOUR WORK AND WITH SUICIDE PREVENTION. SO WE'RE EXCITED IF THERE'S NOT ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FOR ANY OF THE PRESENTERS TONIGHT, IS THERE A MOTION? I RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE DONATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $8,000 TO NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL FROM THE DAK PRESCOTT FAITH FIGHT FINISH FOUNDATION AS PRESENTED.

SECOND.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION TRUSTEE ROBINSON AND FOR YOUR SECOND TRUSTEE RAY.

MOVE TO VOTE, PLEASE.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

OKAY. ALL RIGHT.

THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM 8.2 DONATION TO NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL FROM THE JUST KEEP LIVING FOUNDATION CREATED BY MATTHEW AND CAMELIA [INAUDIBLE].

CAMILLA. MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE HAVE MR. FISCHER ALSO AND MR. WEST AGAIN TO PRESENT THIS ITEM, AND WE ARE DEFINITELY EXCITED ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE ARE REACHING OUT, ENGAGING WITH OUR COMMUNITY.

AND THANK DEFINITELY THANK YOU TO MR. WEST FOR FOR BEING THAT CONNECTION FOR OUR DISTRICT AND OUR STUDENTS.

SO WE APPRECIATE THAT, MR. FISCHER. [APPLAUSE] THANK YOU, DR.

MCFARLAND. GREETINGS AGAIN, BOARD.

DR. MCFARLAND AGAIN, WE'RE EXCITED TO PRESENT TO YOU FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE APPROVAL A DONATION FROM THE MATTHEW AND CAMILLA [INAUDIBLE] JUST KEEP LIVING FOUNDATION TO NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL IN THE AMOUNT OF $30,000.

$30,000. THESE FUNDS ARE PURPOSED TO ASSIST OUR STUDENTS IN IMPROVING THEIR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH THROUGH FUN ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES THAT WILL BE LED BY FITNESS COACHES AND OTHER HEALTH EXPERTS.

I'D LIKE TO INVITE MR. WEST TO SPEAK TO THE DETAIL ABOUT BOTH THE PROGRAM AND THE DONATION.

DR. [INAUDIBLE]. DR. MCFARLAND BOARD MEMBERS, I'M SO EXCITED AGAIN TO INTRODUCE ANOTHER PARTNERSHIP WITH NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, MATTHEW AND, CAMILLA [INAUDIBLE], FOUNDATION, JUST KEEP LIVIN.

NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, PARTNERSHIP WITH JUST KEEP LIVIN FOUNDATION FOR OUR STUDENTS WITH AN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT WILL FOCUS ON FOUR PILLARS FITNESS, WELLNESS, NUTRITION, AND SERVICE.

AT THIS TIME I'D LIKE TO SHOW YOU GUYS A SHORT CLIP.

[01:05:11]

THE JKL FOUNDATION IS DEALING WITH KIDS IN TITLE ONE SCHOOLS.

THESE WERE THE KIDS THAT NEEDED IT THE MOST.

IT'S TWO TIMES A WEEK.

IT'S 2 HOURS FOR THE KIDS GOT A SAFE PLACE TO GO.

JUST KEEP LIVIN PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG KIDS TO GET OFF THE STREETS AND DO SOMETHING HEALTHY WITH THEIR LIVES.

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST LOOK AT THE KIDS.

THEY STILL HAVE A LOT OF DREAMS, A LOT OF HOPE.

IT'S VERY INSPIRING TO WORK WITH THEM.

WITHOUT JUST KEEP LIVIN, I PROBABLY WOULD STILL BE AT HOME ON MY BED, JUST SITTING THERE GAINING A LOT OF WEIGHT, EATING FOOD.

WITH JUST KEEP LIVIN, IT'S LIKE, IT'S SO FUN.

YOU ALWAYS LAUGHING AND YOU ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT TIME.

AND IT REALLY TAUGHT ME THAT MY HEALTH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN ANYTHING.

THEY'RE LEARNING SOME EXERCISE.

THEY LEARN ABOUT NUTRITION.

THE STUFF WE LEARN FROM WHEN WE WAS AT JK AND I TAUGHT IT TO MY FAMILIES AT HOME AND WE STARTED TO EAT BETTER AND EAT RIGHT.

I JUST WANTED TO CHANGE A FEW SMALL HABITS IN WAYS THAT THEY CAN AND WAYS THAT THEY FIND ARE ENJOYABLE TO DO.

I'VE BEEN WORKING OUT EVERY DAY, RUNNING ABOUT SIX MILES A DAY, AND I HAVE LOST THIRTY-TWO POUNDS SO FAR.

WHEN I WORK OUT, I TELL MYSELF, OKAY DO IT AGAIN.

ONE MORE SET. AND THEN WHEN I'M IN CLASS, YOU KNOW, WRITING A PARAGRAPH, I GET FRUSTRATED AND I TELL MYSELF. JUST DO IT LIKE YOU'RE WORKING OUT LIKE JUST DOING ANOTHER PARAGRAPH.

JUST DO IT AGAIN. WE STARTED WHAT WE CALL A GRATITUDE CIRCLE, WHERE ALL THE KIDS IN THE SCHOOL CURRICULUM GET AROUND AND HAVE TO SAY ONE THING THEY ARE THANKFUL FOR.

I'M THANKFUL FOR MY BEST FRIENDS THAT I'VE HAD FOR FIVE YEARS.

FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO PURSUE A COLLEGE EDUCATION.

I'M GRATEFUL FOR BEING GIVEN THIS OPPORTUNITY AND STAYING FIT AND IN SHAPE.

THE GRATITUDE CIRCLE HAS HELPED ME UNDERSTAND AND APPRECIATE WHAT I OFTEN TAKE FOR GRANTED. IT MAKES US CLOSER AS A SCHOOL CLASSMATES, BUT ALSO AS A FAMILY, BECAUSE WE GET TO KNOW WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE GOING THROUGH AND HOW THEY FEEL.

WE'VE BEEN PUSHING THESE KIDS NOW INTO THEIR OWN COMMUNITY SERVICE.

SO WHERE WE'RE PROVIDING A SERVICE OR A PLACE FOR THE KIDS, WE'RE ALSO SAYING, HEY, YOU'RE ACCOUNTABLE, LET'S GET YOU OUT IN THE COMMUNITY AND YOU START GIVING BACK.

WE CLEAN UP THE BEACHES, WE GO TO THE FOOD BANKS, WE PACK FOOD FOR PEOPLE IN NEED.

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT ME.

I WANT TO REACH OUT AND HELP OTHERS, TOO.

SO WE'VE HAD SOME COME FORWARD TO SAY, YOU KNOW WHAT? I WAS HANGING OUT THE WRONG CROWD.

NOW I'M DOING THIS.

THANK YOU. IT'S A GOOD, SAFE PLACE FOR ME TO COME.

JUST KEEP LIVING. GIVES YOU MOTIVATION TO, LIKE, KEEP STRIVING HARDER, NOT JUST IN FITNESS, BUT IN ANYTHING ELSE.

EVERY TIME WE ASK THEM, WHAT CAN WE DO BETTER? WHAT CAN WE CHANGE? THE OVERRIDING ANSWER IS, CAN WE HAVE THE PROGRAM MORE DAYS THAN JUST TWICE A WEEK? IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I CAN ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING.

I CAN DO ANYTHING AS LONG AS I PUT MY MIND TO IT.

DR. HALL, DR. MCFARLAND DISTINGUISHED BOARD MEMBER I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR CONSIDERATION OF THIS DONATION FROM THE $30,000 FOR THE MATTHEW, CAMILA [INAUDIBLE], I'M SORRY, AT THE SCHOOL FOUNDATION AT NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL.

THANK YOU. ANY QUESTIONS? TRUSTEE RAY. YES.

SO WHEN WOULD THE PROGRAM START AND HOW LONG WOULD THIS GRANT OR BEFORE? SO THE PROGRAM WOULD START IN THE FALL SEMESTER OF SCHOOL YEAR 2022, 2023.

AND BUT THEY WOULD ACTUALLY SEND THE TEACHERS THAT ARE SELECTED TO RUN THE PROGRAM.

THEY ACTUALLY GET A THEY GET FLOWN OUT TO CALIFORNIA FOR TRAINING, ALL EXPENSES, EVERYTHING IS PAID FOR BY THEM.

ALL OF THE TRIPS, EVERYTHING FOR OUR STUDENTS, EVERYTHING IS PAID FOR THROUGH OUR FOUNDATION. WHEN OUR KIDS GO SOMEWHERE, EVERYTHING IS PAID FOR THROUGH THEM.

IT'S NEVER ASKED FOR A KID TO PAY FOR ANYTHING, LIKE GOING TO A FIELD TRIP OR ANY EVENT OR THING OF THAT THING OF THAT NATURE.

SO. AND SO IT'LL BE FOR THE SEMESTER.

AND THEN WE HAVE TO ASK AGAIN OR IS IT FOR THE YEAR? SO AS OF RIGHT NOW, THIS SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT THAT'S GOING TO COME EVERY YEAR AS LONG AS WE KEEP THE PARTNERSHIP WITH THEM CONTINUE TO GROW.

AND HOW MANY STUDENTS WILL IT SERVE, DO YOU THINK? AS MANY STUDENTS WE CAN GET.

ALL RIGHT. THEY WILL SEND US AS MORE TEACHERS.

I MEAN, THEY WILL PAY A BIGGER STIPEND TO THE TEACHERS TO GET MORE TEACHERS.

SO THEY'RE NOT GOING TO TURN AWAY A STUDENT.

OKAY. AWESOME.

TRUSTEE DAVIS. WOW.

THAT IS AMAZING.

AMAZING. DID WE APPLY FOR THAT?

[01:10:01]

SO I ACTUALLY KIND OF I HAVE BEEN A.

NO, NO, NO.

[LAUGHTER] NO, NO, NO, NO.

I WAS JUST GOING TO SAY THE SAME THING ABOUT GETTING IT AT THE HIGH SCHOOL.

OKAY. THAT WAS THAT.

BUT THEN DO YOU KNOW HOW THE STUDENTS WILL BE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE? THEY DON'T TURN AWAY ANYBODY.

THE GOAL IS TO SELECT STUDENTS WHO ARE STUDENTS WHO ARE JUST NOT PROBABLY INVOLVED IN SPORTS OR NOT INVOLVED IN A LOT OF THINGS AT SCHOOL.

THE TARGET IS TO GET THOSE SCHOOLS THAT HAVE STUDENTS THAT LEAVE SCHOOL AND GO DIRECTLY HOME AND THEY'RE NOT ACTIVE, NOT INVOLVED AND NOT DOING ANYTHING.

SO THAT'S THAT TARGET GROUP.

BUT IF I'M AN ATHLETE, THEY'RE NOT TURNING AWAY EITHER.

SO I'VE BEEN FACILITATING THIS PROGRAM IN OTHER SCHOOLS, IN A PREVIOUS SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT I WAS IN, I ACTUALLY OVERSEE FIVE OF THE SCHOOLS IN THE METROPLEX THAT THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN AT. SO I ACTUALLY SEEN THE CHANGE.

I KNOW THAT EVERYTHING THAT YOU SAW IS TRUE.

OKAY AND I MAY HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD, BUT WHEN HE STARTED SPEAKING INITIALLY, HE SAID ELEMENTARY STUDENTS.

DID HE? NO THE AGE TARGET IS 15 ON UP.

OKAY. OKAY. I WAS ABOUT SAY I DIDN'T SEE ANY ELEMENTARY AGE STUDENTS.

SO THIS WILL APPLY TO OUR NINTH GRADE CAMPUS AS WELL NORTH CROWLEY.

YES, MA'AM. OKAY.

THANK YOU. SO IT SOUNDS LIKE TO ME YOU HAVE A LOT OF INFLUENCE ON HOW THINGS GO, YOU KNOW, YOU'RE CONNECTEDNESS.

SO I'M GOING TO PICK UP WHERE MS. DAVIS LEFT OFF ABOUT GETTING THIS OVER ON THE EVIL SIDE OF THINGS AS WELL.

SO I'M JUST GOING TO PUT THAT OUT THERE IN THE ATMOSPHERE AND FLOAT IT.

IT'S LIKE A WISH OR HOPE AND ASPIRATION AND THEN WE'LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

I LOVE THE EAGLES, MY DAUGHTER IS AN EAGLES.

SO, YOU KNOW, I GOT A LOVE FOR THE PURPLE SIDE.

WINGS UP. THOSE ARE JUST THESE ARE JUST THE INITIAL THINGS.

SO IT ALWAYS YOU KNOW, THOSE ARE ALWAYS THE PLAN TO EXPAND, YOU KNOW, TO OUR SISTER SCHOOL. SO MOST DEFINITELY.

SO THIS IS A SMALL STEP.

THE NEXT STEP IS TO, OF COURSE, TO EXPAND [INAUDIBLE].

WELL, WE'RE STILL VERY GRATEFUL FOR YOU BRINGING THIS TO US AND FOR THE GREAT OPPORTUNITIES AND THE ENRICHMENT AND SUPPORT THAT YOU HAVE FOR OUR STUDENTS IN NORTH CROWLEY. SO THANK YOU. I DON'T WANT TO SOUND UNAPPRECIATIVE.

VERY GRATEFUL. YES, MA'AM.

TRUSTEE GRASSIA.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR THESE COUPLE OF PROGRAMS THAT YOU'VE BROUGHT TO US.

AND IF YOU NEED SOMEONE TO HELP OUT, I GO TO CALIFORNIA FOR YOU.

[LAUGHTER] YES, SIR. ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? YES, I JUST HAD A QUICK QUESTION, BUT ALSO I'LL WELL, FOR THE STATISTICS.

I LIKED THE I LIKED WHAT I SAW ON THE SCREEN ABOUT THE 90%, 91%, 95%.

ARE OUR STUDENTS GOING TO BE THE ONES WHO ARE PARTICIPATING? ARE WE GOING TO SEE THE IMPACT OF OUR STUDENTS AND WHAT THE PROGRAM HAS ON THEM? HOW WILL THAT. YES, MA'AM.

SO ALL THE DATA IS TAKING OUR TEACHERS THAT WILL GO RECEIVE THE TRAINING.

THEY HAVE TO DO WEEKLY REPORTS ALSO.

AND SO THAT'S PART OF HOW THEY CAPTURED THE DATA.

AND THEN YOU'LL JUST SHARE THAT WITH US.

YES, MA'AM. YES, MA'AM.

THANK YOU. YES, MA'AM.

ALL RIGHT. THERE ARE NO OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FOR MR. WEST. IS THERE A MOTION? I WILL. DR.

HALL, I RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE DONATION TO NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL FROM THE JUST KEEP LIVING FOUNDATION AS PRESENTED.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION.

TRUSTEE DAVIS. IS THERE A SECOND? WE HAVE A SECOND FROM TRUSTEE MAYFIELD, MOVE TO VOTE, PLEASE.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

THANK YOU, GUYS. THANK YOU.

THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM 8.3 CONSIDERATION OF CLASSROOM TEACHER PAY AND STEP INCREASES. DR. MCFARLAND MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS, WE HAVE DR.

BERRY PREPARED TO ADDRESS THIS ITEM.

DR. BERRY. THANK YOU.

MADAM PRESIDENT, ESTEEMED BOARD AND DR.

MCFARLAND. TONIGHT'S ITEM IS A FOLLOW UP TO LAST MONTH'S BOARD REPORT ITEM RELATED TO THE HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT PLAN.

THIS ITEM ADDRESSES GOAL THREE OF OUR EMPOWERED STAFF.

SO IN OUR INITIAL REPORT, WE OUTLINED A MINIMUM 3.2% RAISE, WHICH INCLUDED THE STEP ADJUSTMENTS, WHICH RECOGNIZE NOT ONLY OUR DESIRE TO INCENTIVIZE THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS OF OUR INCOMING TEACHERS WITH A STARTING PAY OF $60,010.

BUT IT WILL ALSO SUPPORT THE CRITICAL AREA OF RETENTION AND VALUE FOR OUR TENURED TEACHERS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED THE DISTRICT AND THE FIELD OF EDUCATION IN YEARS 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, SO ON.

[01:15:01]

SO WHAT THIS NEXT SLIDE WILL SHOW AND JUST HAVE TO GIVE A REAL QUICK SHOUT OUT TO AS WE'VE BEEN RECRUITING, THIS IS INDICATIVE OF SOME OF THOSE TEACHERS THAT WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET.

THIS IS A NORTH CROWLEY GRADUATE.

HER NAME IS BAILEY.

WE MET HER ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO AT THE BAYLOR JOB FAIR AND SO VERY HAPPY TO SHARE THE INFORMATION WITH HER THAT INCENTIVIZED HER TO COME JOIN US.

SHE'LL BE JOINING US IN THE FALL AS A THIRD GRADE READING TEACHER.

SO DEFINITELY WANTED TO SHOUT OUT THAT GROUP THAT'S OUT THERE LOOKING FOR THOSE KIDDOS.

AND SO IN OUR NEXT SLIDE, YOU WILL SEE THE THE FEEDBACK AND WORK THAT HAS BEEN DONE SINCE WE LAST MET AND PROVIDED THIS REPORT.

WE'VE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO ALSO SIT DOWN WITH OUR CAMPUS REPRESENTATIVES OF [INAUDIBLE] UEA THAT REPRESENT OUR CAMPUSES.

AND AS YOU ALL ALSO INQUIRED LAST TIME IN OUR CONVERSATIONS WITH THEM, HAVE REALLY CENTERED AROUND WHAT DOES THAT LOOK LIKE FOR ABSOLUTELY.

WE ARE EXCITED TO BE MOVING TOWARD THE TOP IN TARRANT COUNTY AND OUR STARTING SALARY.

BUT HOW DO WE ALSO HONOR AND AND DIVE INTO WHAT THAT LOOKS LIKE FOR OUR FIVE-YEAR 10, 15, 20 YEAR TEACHERS AS WELL THAT HAVE BEEN WITH THE DISTRICT AND BEEN IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION. AND SO FROM THOSE CONVERSATIONS, WE WANTED TO BRING BACK AND PROVIDE THIS SALARY RAISE STEP THAT WILL INCLUDE, AS WE INDICATED, 3.2% AND UP.

SO FOR AT STEPS TWO THROUGH NINE, YOU'LL NOTICE THAT IT WILL, THE SALARY STEP THAT YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN PROVIDED AS WELL IS A 3.2% RAISE.

AT STEPS 10 THROUGH 14.

YOU'LL NOTICE THAT IT'S 3.5 AT THAT AREA OF STEPS 15 THROUGH 24 IS A 3.7% RAISE.

AND OUR TEACHERS THAT COME IN ARE OR ARE ALREADY AT STEPS 25 THROUGH 30, THAT WOULD BE A 4% RAISE.

AND SO THAT'S WHAT YOU WILL NOTE IN THE SALARY STEP STRUCTURE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED THIS EVENING. SO I WANTED TO KIND OF PAUSE THERE FIRST AND SEE IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS RELATED TO THAT.

AND THEN I DO WANT TO ALSO SHARE WITH YOU THE FOLLOW UP REGARDING OUR NEXT STEPS FOR PARAPROFESSIONALS AND LOOKING AT OTHER BENEFITS THAT WE PLAN TO EXPLORE FOLLOWING THE TEACHER SALARY RAISES.

TRUSTEE DAVIS.

DOES THAT, AM I UNDERSTANDING THAT GRAPHIC TO SAY THAT WE WOULD BE AT THE TOP? IN THE AREA? YES, MA'AM. SO WE ARE WHAT WE KNOW RIGHT NOW, ACCORDING TO THE UEA SALARY STRUCTURE, THE TOP SALARY, THE TOP STARTING RAISE IS ACTUALLY $60,008 IN A VERY CLOSE DISTRICT THAT IS INDICATED ON THIS SCREEN HERE.

AND SO THIS WOULD ABSOLUTELY MOVE US TO THAT TOP STEP FOR OUR STARTING SALARY.

AND IN THE OTHER AREAS, WE MAY NOT HAVE HIT THE TOP, THE NUMBER ONE MARK, BUT UP THROUGH STEPS 25 THROUGH 30, CURRENTLY, WE WOULD AT LEAST BE WITHIN THE TOP 8 TO 10 WITH THIS APPROVAL. ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? SO I DID WANT TO JUST MAKE FOR SURE ONE OR THE OTHER AREAS THAT THAT WE YOU ASKED ABOUT AND WE'VE ALSO BEEN EXPLORING WERE WHAT ARE OUR NEXT STEPS AS IT RELATES TO OTHER PARAPROFESSIONALS AS WELL AS OTHER STAFF IN THE DISTRICT? AND SO OUR HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT TEAM, WE'VE BEEN MEETING WITH A VARIETY OF INDIVIDUALS AND PLANNING TO DEVELOP THE TASK FORCE TO BRING REPRESENTATIVES FROM EACH OF THOSE GROUPS TOGETHER TO FURTHER EXPLORE SOME OF THESE AREAS.

SO I KNOW THE PRINCIPAL SUPERVISORS HAVE BEEN MEETING WITH PRINCIPALS AND RECEIVING THE FEEDBACK SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO PARAPROFESSIONALS AND AND HOW WE ARE SUPPORTING THEIR THEIR EFFORTS AND THEIR WORK IN THE CLASSROOM AND THE VALUE THAT THEY BRING AS WELL.

WE DID CONDUCT A PARAPROFESSIONAL SURVEY PRIOR TO SPRING BREAK, CLOSED ABOUT A WEEK AFTER SPRING BREAK, I BELIEVE WE HAD ABOUT 364 RESPONDENTS TO THAT SURVEY.

AND SO COLLECTING THAT FEEDBACK AS TO WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU, WE RECOGNIZE AND UNDERSTAND SALARY BEING ONE OF THOSE.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE OTHER BENEFITS, SUCH AS HEALTH BENEFITS, WHICH I'LL GET INTO IN JUST A MOMENT, FURTHERING THEIR EDUCATION COMP, OVERTIME PAY THINGS OF THAT NATURE.

AND SO PULLING THAT INFORMATION IN, WE PLAN TO CONTINUE TO MEET WITH THAT GROUP IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE. AND OUR NEXT STEP IN THIS PROCESS WILL BE ALSO TO BRING AN ITEM FOR

[01:20:07]

REPORT AND CONSIDERATION THAT WILL BE INCLUDED IN THE COMPENSATION PLAN THAT ADDRESSES ALL AREAS. AND SO THIS VERY THE LAST SLIDE HERE RELATED TO THAT, THE OTHER AREA THAT YOU ASKED ABOUT RELATED TO [INAUDIBLE] AND OTHERS WAS OUR HEALTH CARE COSTS.

AND I KNOW YOU WILL RECEIVE A PRESENTATION LATER ON THIS EVENING THAT DIVES A LITTLE DEEPER INTO THE HEALTH CLINIC SPECIFICALLY.

BUT JUST WANTED TO BRING BACK TO YOU AND ANSWER TO SOME OF YOUR QUESTIONS.

AND SO YOU'LL NOTICE THERE THAT OUR THE PREMIUM CONTRIBUTION THAT WE CURRENTLY PROVIDE FOR OUR EMPLOYEES IS $225 PER MONTH.

THAT COSTS US ABOUT $2.9 MILLION.

AND THEN YOU'LL ALSO NOTICE THAT WE WERE ABLE TO CONNECT WITH OUR HEALTH CARE CLINIC JUST TO GET SOME INFORMATION AND DATA FROM THEM AS WE ASSESS THAT.

AND SO WE HAVE RIGHT NOW ABOUT 980 AVERAGE VISITS PER YEAR TO OUR HEALTH CARE CLINIC.

AND THOSE ARE JUST THE VISITS.

AND AGAIN, MS. [INAUDIBLE] WILL KIND OF GO INTO THE DETAILS OF THAT THIS EVENING.

WHAT I DIDN'T MENTION WHAT OUR PREMIUM CONTRIBUTION THAT RIGHT THERE CONSISTS OF ABOUT 1,220 OF OUR STAFF CAN CURRENTLY PARTICIPATE IN OUR HEALTH CARE.

SO JUST WANTED TO PROVIDE YOU AN UPDATE AT THAT.

AGAIN, ONE OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT WE CONTINUE TO EXPLORE AS WE LOOK AT COMPENSATION, HEALTH CARE BENEFITS AND EVERYTHING FOR OUR STAFF.

AND SO THAT IS THE CONCLUSION OF MY PRESENTATION AT THIS TIME.

AND I AM MORE THAN HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FOR DR.

BERRY? TRUSTEE DAVIS.

DR. BERRY, WHEN WHEN I LOOK AT THAT HEALTH CARE CLINIC, ANNUAL COST AND ABOUT 980 AVERAGE VISITS PER YEAR, HAVE WE SEEN AN INCREASE IN THAT OR? SO I KNOW MS. ADRIAN HAS BEEN RESEARCHING THAT.

I BELIEVE SHE HAS SOME OF THE NUMBERS RELATED TO THE THREE YEAR TREND THAT WE'VE SEEN WITH THAT THAT AREA.

OKAY, I'LL WAIT.

THANK YOU. I DON'T WANT TO MISCOMMUNICATE HER NUMBERS.

THANK YOU. AND I DO WANT TO ADD THIS AS A POSSIBLE ACTION ITEM TONIGHT AS WELL.

WHILE WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THE HEALTH CARE PART AND I GUESS TALKING ABOUT BOTH OF THEM, BUT HAVE WE LOOKED AT I KNOW SOME OF THE AND MAYBE WE HAVE.

AND I JUST BUT.

ALLOWING OPTIONS OUTSIDE OF THE OR WHAT'S THE SITUATION NOW WHERE YOU DON'T HAVE TO TRS AND CAN USE OTHER OPTIONS AND SOME DISTRICTS ARE MOVING THERE.

HAVE WE CONSIDERED THAT OR LOOKED AT ANY KIND OF COMPARISONS ON THAT? KIND OF LET THE GURU ADDRESS THAT.

THANK YOU, DR. BERRY.

YEAH. WE LOOKED INTO AN ALTERNATIVE FOR THE HEALTH PLAN, AND WE OPTED TO USE THAT THIS YEAR WE'RE WITH [INAUDIBLE] SO THE EMPLOYEES COULD, YOU KNOW, STAY ON TRS, ACTIVE CARE OR GO WITH [INAUDIBLE]. I WAS ONE THAT WENT WITH [INAUDIBLE] JUST TO CHECK IT OUT.

AND I HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE DOCTOR ALL YEAR.

KNOCK ON WOOD. BUT THE PROBLEM IS TRS IS CLOSING THAT LOOPHOLE.

SO WE ARE COMMITTED TO TREES THEN GOING FORWARD FOR THE OUR HEALTH CARE.

SO WE'RE MEETING WITH TPA'S CURRENTLY TO TRY TO LOOK AT THE MARKET FOR THE ALTERNATIVE OR NOT THE ALTERNATIVE HEALTH CARE, BUT THEIR CAFETERIA PLAN OPTIONS, YOU KNOW, DENTAL VISION. SO WE ARE WORKING REALLY HARD TO TRY TO GET THOSE COSTS DOWN AT THE MOMENT, BUT.

DO WE HAVE DATA ON OR WE MAY NOT? WELL, I GUESS WE'D HAVE TO.

ON WHAT? LIKE THE AVERAGE EMPLOYEE PAYS OUT OF POCKET FOR HEALTH INSURANCE.

FOR PREMIUMS? YEAH.

I DON'T HAVE THAT OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD, BUT I CAN GET THAT TO YOU BECAUSE WE DO PAY 225 . YEAH. TOWARDS THOSE PREMIUMS. AND THEN THE STATE CONTRIBUTES A LITTLE BIT, BUT I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S OUT OF 400 THEN IT'S NOT SO BAD. IF IT'S OUT OF 2,000, IT'S DIFFERENT.

WELL, THE EMPLOYEE ONLY IT'S MINIMAL.

THE WHEN YOU CAN ADD LIKE 20 CHILDREN AND IT INCREASES, BUT YOU ADD ONE SPOUSE AND IT'S A HUGE INCREASE.

SO IF WE DIDN'T HAVE TO PUT OUR SPOUSES ON, THERE WOULDN'T BE SO BAD.

BUT YEAH, IT ADDS UP A GREAT DEAL.

HEALTH CARE IS JUST.

IT'S JUST ONE OF THE BEASTS THAT IT IS.

AND. YEAH.

BUT I'LL BE HAPPY TO GET YOU THAT INFORMATION.

OKAY. ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR DR.

[01:25:04]

BERRY? SO AGAIN BOARD I JUST DO WANT TO REMIND THIS IS A POSSIBLE ACTION ITEM TONIGHT ON APPROVING THE TEACHER SALARY SCALE THAT ALSO INCLUDES THE 3%, 3.2% AND UP RAISE AND PLACES WITH AN AVERAGE SALARY.

AND I DON'T KNOW IF DR.

MCFARLAND OR ANTHONY ARE GOING TO TALK ABOUT THIS, BUT THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF OUR OUR BILLBOARD THAT WE PLAN TO DISPLAY IN A VARIETY OF PLACES ACROSS THE METROPLEX AND POTENTIALLY ON ITS WAY TO OKLAHOMA.

I'M JUST GOING TO THROW THAT IN THERE REAL QUICK.

AND THAT WOULD PLACE OUR AVERAGE SALARY AT 65,028.

DOES THAT INCLUDE THE TEACHERS THAT ARE WORKING LIKE AN EXTENDED SCHOOL DAY YEAR? THE OKAY OUR AVERAGE.

YEAH, IT WOULD ONLY ONLY INCLUDE AN AVERAGE.

SO THOSE TEACHERS HAVE A STIPEND.

SO THE STIPEND IS NOT ADDED IN.

OH, IT'S NOT OKAY.

THAT IS CORRECT. WE SHOULD INCLUDE THE STIPENDS IN THEIR AVERAGE PAY, WHATEVER YOU'RE PROMOTING IT. BUT I JUST ANOTHER MS. ADRIAN QUESTION I GUESS NOT TO MAKE YOU BUT I MEAN, I PRESUME WE CAN AFFORD THIS, RIGHT? I MEAN, WE HAVEN'T TALKED ABOUT THAT.

OKAY. YES.

SHE SAID YES.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR DR.

BERRY? TRUSTEE RAY.

GOOD. OKAY.

ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU, DR.

BERRY, FOR YOUR PRESENTATION.

WE ARE EXCITED.

I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE BILLBOARDS.

ALL RIGHT. WE'LL GET YOU A PICTURE NEXT TIME.

ALL RIGHT. THEY'RE GOING TO THINK I'M A DOUBLE AGENT.

YOU'RE TAKING THE BILLBOARDS ALL THE WAY TO OKLAHOMA.

ALL RIGHT. THIS BRINGS US NOW TO.

I'M SORRY. WHAT? I HAVEN'T FINISHED.

THANKS SIS, WE ARE FAMILY.

[INAUDIBLE]. OKAY. ALL RIGHT.

ALL RIGHT. THIS IS A CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ITEM.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE ROBINSON, FOR REMINDING ME.

IS THERE A MOTION? I'LL MAKE A MOTION TO RECOMMEND THE APPROVAL OF THE 2022 2023 TEACHER SALARIES, WHICH INCLUDES A MINIMUM OF A 3.2 RAISE AND TARGET STEP ADJUSTMENTS AS PRESENTED.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION TRUSTEE GRASSIA.

IS THERE A SECOND? I WILL SECOND.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SECOND, TRUSTEE ROBINSON.

MOVE TO VOTE, PLEASE.

ALL RIGHT. IT'S OFFICIAL.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

[APPLAUSE] ALL RIGHT.

THIS BRINGS US NOW TO AGENDA ITEM 8.4 PURCHASE OF PORTABLE CLASSROOM BUILDING FOR NORTH CROWLEY NINTH GRADE CAMPUS.

DR. MCFARLAND.

MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS.

MR. FISCHER IS PREPARED TO ADDRESS THIS ITEM.

MR. FISCHER. THANK YOU, DR.

MCFARLAND. GREETINGS AGAIN BOARD, DR.

MCFARLAND. NORTH CROWLEY [INAUDIBLE], HAS REQUESTED ONE PORTABLE BUILDING THAT WILL HOUSE TWO CLASSROOMS. THIS PORTABLE BUILDING WILL ALLOW ADMINISTRATION TO EFFICIENTLY ALLOCATE THE CLASSROOM SPACE FOR CORE CLASSROOMS IN THE MAIN BUILDING.

USING THE PORTABLE BUILDING FOR ELECTIVE CLASSROOMS. THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION.

THANK YOU, MR. FISCHER. ARE THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS FROM THE BOARD? OKAY. GO AHEAD.

DO WE HAVE WE HAVE TO RUN ELECTRICITY FOR THAT OR IS THAT ALREADY THERE OR? WE HAVE ELECTRICITY ALREADY.

THERE'S A PORTABLE CLASSROOM ALREADY THERE.

I DON'T KNOW IF WE WILL HAVE TO RUN ADDITIONAL.

AN ELECTRICAL IS ALREADY THERE.

I HAVE A QUESTION.

I'M NOT A FAN OF PORTABLE BUILDINGS, BUT ARE WE AT CAPACITY IN NORTH CROWLEY NINTH? IS THAT WHERE WE ARE? IS THAT WHERE WE ARE? SO, MADAM PRESIDENT AND ALSO BOARD MEMBERS, YOU KNOW THAT THAT IS THE REALITY.

WE'RE RIGHT AT 97% OR SO CAPACITY.

WE KNOW THAT NOW WE ARE PROVIDING SERVICES DIFFERENT THAN WHAT THE BUILDING WAS INTENDED TO. AND SO WE HAVE NEED SPACE FOR INTERVENTIONS, SPACE FOR SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL SUPPORT, SPACE FOR SMALL PULLOUT ROOMS. AND SO THAT CREATES AN ISSUE FOR US.

[01:30:02]

THIS IS REALLY A SHORT TERM, 2023 SOLUTION.

THE GROWTH ON THAT SIDE OF OUR DISTRICT, WE'LL WANT US TO HAVE TO MAKE SOME OTHER LONG TERM PLANS, BUT TO GET US TO THROUGH 2020 TO 2023, THE PORTABLE RIGHT WILL DO THAT.

BY MAY OF NEXT YEAR, WE'LL HAVE TO HAVE OTHER CONVERSATIONS.

WELL, THANK YOU FOR THAT EXPLANATION, DR.

MCFARLAND. I WOULD NEVER DENY A PRINCIPAL WHAT THEY NEED FOR THEIR CAMPUS, BUT I AM NOT A FAN OF PORTABLE, SO I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT OUR LONG TERM SOLUTION IS GOING TO BE SO THAT WE DON'T CONTINUE TO NEED PORTABLES.

SO I APPRECIATE YOU ADDRESSING THAT.

ARE THERE ANY. CAN I ASK ONE MORE QUESTION? MAYBE TWO. WE'LL SEE.

WHAT PROGRAMS DO ARE WE GOING TO PUT INTO THE PORTABLES? I KNOW SOMETIMES PEOPLE FEEL LIKE CERTAIN PROGRAMS GET SLATED FOR PORTABLES VERSUS OTHERS. ARE WE ABLE TO ANSWER THAT? AND IF NOT, THAT'S FINE AS WELL.

YOU SEE WHO I BROUGHT WITH ME? WE'RE GOING TO CALL THE PRINCIPAL UP SINCE SHE'S THE CAPTAIN OF THE SHIP THERE AT NORTH CROWLEY [INAUDIBLE]. SO, DR.

CARLESHA WILLIAMS, LET'S GIVE HER A HAND.

[APPLAUSE] THANK YOU, MADAM PRESIDENT, DISTINGUISHED BOARD, DR.

MCFARLAND, TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, WE HAVE TWO ELECTIVE CLASSES THAT WILL GO OUT TO THE PORTABLES. THAT IS A MEDICAL TERMINOLOGY COURSE AND A CULINARY COURSE.

SO THE CULINARY COURSE THEY HAVE THEIR FACE TO FACE CLASSES INSIDE THE CLASSROOM AND THEY TAKE FIELD TRIPS TO CTE FOR THE ACTUAL HANDS ON PART.

SO THIS WILL ALLOW US TO KEEP THOSE CORE CLASSES INSIDE THE BUILDING.

THANK YOU, DR.

WILLIAMS. ALL RIGHT.

I THINK THAT'S IT FOR MY QUESTIONS OR ANY OTHER QUESTIONS.

ALL RIGHT. THERE'S NO OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS.

IS THERE A MOTION? I MOVE THAT WE APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF ONE PORTABLE CLASSROOM BUILDING FOR NORTH CROWLEY NINTH GRADE CAMPUS AS PRESENTED.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION DR.

MAYFIELD, IS THERE A SECOND? I'LL SECOND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SECOND TRUSTEE GRASSIA.

MOVE TO VOTE, PLEASE. THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY. THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM 8.5 SET DATE TO CANVASS BALLOTS FOR MAY 7, 2022. SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE ELECTION.

DR. DR.

MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT.

BOARD MEMBERS. MS. MONTALVO IS HERE PREPARED TO PRESENT THIS ITEM.

MS. MONTALVO. GOOD EVENING, MADAM PRESIDENT.

DR. MCFARLAND, HIGHLY ESTEEMED BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

WE ARE REVISITING THIS ITEM.

IT IS A.

IT IS ALIGNED WITH DISTRICT GOAL NUMBER TWO, ENGAGE COMMUNITY.

AS YOU MAY REMEMBER, WE ARE IN THE SEASON OF GETTING READY TO CONDUCT THE SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION FOR PLACES FIVE, SIX AND SEVEN.

AND THIS IS A TASK THAT IS REQUIRED WITH AN ENTITY ELECTION PER CISD, BOARD POLICY BBEE LEGAL AND ELECTION CODE 67.003.

THE BOARD MUST MEET TO CANVASS ELECTION RETURNS.

AS A GENTLE REMINDER TO MEMBERS OF THE BOARD CONSTITUTE A QUORUM FOR THE PURPOSE OF CANVASING ELECTIONS.

THE DISTRICT RESPECTFULLY PROPOSES TUESDAY, MAY 17.

AT THIS TIME, I AM AVAILABLE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS, IF THERE ARE ANY.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FOR MS. MONTALVO? IF NOT, IS THERE A MOTION? I WILL. I MOVE.

I MOVED. I'M SORRY, MS. DAVIS [INAUDIBLE] TUESDAY, MAY 17, 2022, AT 9 A.M.

TO CANVASS THE BALLOTS FOR THE MAY 7TH, 2022 CROWLEY ISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTION.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR MOTION TRUSTEE GRASSIA, IS THERE A SECOND SECOND? THANK YOU FOR YOUR SECOND TRUSTEE DAVIS.

MOVE TO VOTE, PLEASE.

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, BOARD OF TRUSTEES.

THANK YOU, MS. MONTALVO.

THIS NOW BRINGS US TO OUR FUTURE ACTION ITEMS.

[9.0 Future Action Item(s) ]

AGENDA ITEM 9.1 ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS.

DR. MCFARLAND.

SO, MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, AS YOU ALL KNOW, WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A SIGNIFICANT GROWTH SPURT HERE IN CROWLEY ISD AND THROUGHOUT OUR BOUNDARIES.

[01:35:04]

AND SO WHAT WE KNOW IS THAT AS AS GROWTH IS OCCURRING, AS HOMES ARE BEING BUILT, BUILT, AS NEIGHBORHOODS ARE OPENING UP, WE KNOW WE WILL HAVE ISSUES THAT WE NEED TO DEAL WITH WITHIN OUR SCHOOLS.

AND SO WE HAVE ACTUALLY A SHORT TERM APPROACH AND A LONG TERM APPROACH.

THE [INAUDIBLE] IS THE FIRST STEP OF OF OUR SHORT TERM APPROACH.

A LONG TERM APPROACH WILL BE COMING WILL BE FORTHCOMING.

TONIGHT, WE'LL BE DISCUSSING ELEMENTARY BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS.

WE HAVE MR. KIRSCHNER, WHO WILL TAKE US THROUGH THE DISCUSSION ON THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS.

AGAIN, THIS IS ONLY FOR THE 2022, 2023 SCHOOL YEAR.

WE WILL HAVE TO BE BACK AT THIS AGAIN.

SO AGAIN, THIS IS A SHORT TERM ADJUSTMENT TO GET US THROUGH NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.

THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

THIS ALIGNS WITH GOAL ONE THRIVING STUDENTS.

JUST FOR A REFRESHER RIGHT NOW, IF YOU GO ON OUR WEBSITE AND YOU LOOK AT OUR CURRENT ELEMENTARY ATTENDANCE ZONES, THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE.

OUR BIG, LARGE, BEAUTIFUL DISTRICT THERE.

SOMETHING YOU CAN SEE THAT STANDS OUT IS THE LARGEST ATTENDANCE ZONE BY SIZE IS JUNE W.

DAVIS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

YOU'LL RECALL WHEN THAT CAMPUS OPENED UP IN 1920, THERE WAS NOT AS MUCH DEVELOPMENT OVER THERE AS THERE IS NOW.

AND WE HAD TO MAKE THAT A LARGE ATTENDANCE ZONE TO GET ENOUGH STUDENTS TO GO THERE.

SO NOT ONLY IS THE DAVIS ATTENDANCE ZONE THE LARGEST IN LAND SIZE, DAVIS ELEMENTARY NOW ALSO HAS THE LARGEST STUDENT ENROLLMENT.

AND SO THAT'S ONE OF OUR HOTSPOTS WE'RE LOOKING AT FOR THESE MINOR BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS.

YOU HEARD FROM OUR DEMOGRAPHER RECENTLY TALKING ABOUT WHERE A LOT OF THAT GROWTH IS HAPPENING. AND HE TALKED ABOUT THE ACROSS THE CENTER OF THE DISTRICT.

IT'S NO LONGER JUST ALONG CHISHOLM TRAIL PARKWAY.

RIGHT. IT'S HAPPENING THERE ACROSS THE MIDDLE OF THE DISTRICT.

AND SO YOU SEE THOSE HOT ZONES, [INAUDIBLE] POINT BACKWARDS THERE.

SO YOU SEE THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE DISTRICT, SEE THOSE HOT ZONES? THAT ONE RIGHT THERE IS DAVIS ELEMENTARY.

THE CHART ON YOUR RIGHT SHOWS WHAT GROWTH LOOKS LIKE OVER THE NEXT THREE, FIVE AND TEN YEARS IF ATTENDANCE ZONES ARE NOT CHANGED.

AND SO WE KNOW WE MUST BE MAKING MINOR ADJUSTMENTS ALONG THE WAY, BUT THEN ALSO BE DOING MORE SIGNIFICANT REZONING AS WE OPEN UP MORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS IN THE FUTURE.

AND SO YOU'LL SEE THOSE HOT SPOTS ON THERE.

DAVIS BEST RACE, S-H CROWLEY.

ALL OF OUR DISTRICTS, A LOT OF OUR CAMPUSES ARE GOING TO BE EXPERIENCING SIGNIFICANT GROWTH. SO AS DR. MCFARLAND SAID, THIS IS DEFINITELY PHASE ONE IN THAT THIS IS A MAP THAT OUR DEMOGRAPHER HAS WORKED WITH DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION ON.

AND WHAT WE DID IS SOMETHING CALLED GEOCODING.

AND SO THAT ALLOWS US TO KNOW WHERE EVERY STUDENT WHO'S CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN OUR SCHOOLS, WHERE THEY LIVE, WHAT NEIGHBORHOOD, WHAT STREET, WHAT THEIR HOME ADDRESS IS.

AND WHEN WE LOOK AT THIS IN THE SYSTEM, THERE'S A LITTLE RED DOT FOR EACH AND EVERY STUDENT. WE'VE CLEANED THOSE UP JUST TO MAKE THIS EASIER TO READ.

AND WE'RE GOING TO SHOW YOU WHAT THESE PROPOSED BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS WILL LOOK LIKE.

AND AGAIN, THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM STARTING UP TOP NUMBER ONE.

THERE IS AN AREA THAT USED TO BE DAVIS ELEMENTARY THAT WILL THEN BE ZONED IF YOU APPROVE TO SUE CROUCH. IT'S THE AREA OF WEST OF BRYANT IRVIN, AND THERE ARE CURRENTLY 61 STUDENTS WHO ATTEND DAVIS WHO WOULD BE IMPACTED BY THAT.

AREA TWO IS ALSO CURRENTLY A DAVIS ZONE.

IT WOULD ALSO GO OVER TO SUE CROUCH.

IT'S THAT LITTLE SECTION SOUTH OF RISING NEAR ROAD.

RIGHT THERE. AND SO WHAT YOU'LL SEE ON THIS MAP ALSO I FAIL TO MENTION, IS THE RED LINES ARE THE ARE THE CURRENT BOUNDARIES.

THE NEW SHADES ARE WHAT THAT WOULD LOOK LIKE FOR.

SO YOU'LL SEE THAT SUE CROUCH ZONE AND THAT TEAL GROUP GREW UP BECAUSE OF THIS POSSIBLE CHANGE ON THE THIRD.

WE ALSO HAVE A CHANGE AFFECTING DAVIS.

BUT THESE STUDENTS WILL BE GOING TO DALLAS PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND IT'S AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF CHISHOLM TRAIL PARKWAY AND MCPHERSON RIGHT NOW.

THE MCCOY APARTMENTS ARE THERE AND THEN THE COTTAGES AT SUMMER CREEK.

AND SO RIGHT NOW THERE'S ONLY EIGHT STUDENTS ATTENDING DAVIS IN THAT IN THAT AREA.

BUT THERE WILL BE MORE FOR A TOTAL OF 58 IN THE FUTURE AS THOSE DEVELOPMENTS COME ONLINE.

AND FINALLY, THE LAST ADJUSTMENT AFFECTING DAVIS ELEMENTARY IS PORTIONS OF SUMMER CREEK RANCH AND WELLINGTON POINT.

AND YOU'LL SEE THAT'S PRETTY FAR EAST IN THE DISTRICT.

THAT CURRENT DAVIS LINE STRETCHES ALMOST TO THE MIDDLE OF THE DISTRICT.

AND SO THAT'S A CHANGE THAT WE NEED TO MAKE.

AND THOSE STUDENTS WOULD BE REZONED FOR DALLAS PARK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

AND THAT HAS THE LARGEST NUMBER OF STUDENTS IMPACTED AT 104 CURRENT STUDENTS IN THE FUTURE, UP TO 26.

SO I'M GOING TO STOP THERE.

THOSE ARE THE CHANGES IMPACTING DAVIS ELEMENTARY.

ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THOSE BEFORE I GO TO THE NEXT ONES? ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT. NUMBER FIVE, THIS IS A CHANGE THAT WOULD BE IMPACTING BEST RACE S.H CROWLEY TO PROVIDE SOME RELIEF TO BEST RACE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

THOSE STUDENTS LIVING WEST OF A BUSINESS OF LEARNING, SEVEN NORTH OF REGULAR, 1197 AND THEN WEST OF HAMPTON ROADS, SOUTH OF 1187 WOULD MOVE FROM BEST RACE TO S.H.

CROWLEY, AND THAT'S CURRENTLY 56 STUDENTS IN 20 FUTURE STUDENTS FOR A TOTAL OF 76.

AND THEN OVER AT DEER CREEK, WE'RE MAKING AN ADJUSTMENT TO MOVE SOME OF THOSE ZONES AND THOSE STUDENTS FROM CREEKSIDE SOUTH AND CREEKSIDE PHASE FIVE FROM DEER CREEK TO BEST RACE, AND THAT'S TOTAL IT CURRENTLY 35 STUDENTS, 26 IN THE FUTURE FOR A TOTAL OF 61.

[01:40:05]

AND THEN FINALLY, THIS ONE'S PRETTY SIMPLE.

THIS IS A NEW DEVELOPMENT UP NORTH CALLED SYCAMORE LANDING.

IT'S A NEW SUBDIVISION WITH NO HOMES YET, SO NO STUDENTS ARE CURRENTLY IMPACTED.

BUT WE'RE GOING TO CLEAN UP THE BOUNDARY LINE.

THERE'S A CLEAR DEFINED GREEN BELT THERE THAT MAKES A LOT OF SENSE FOR BEING A DIVIDING LINE BETWEEN MEADOW CREEK AND JACKIE [INAUDIBLE] ELEMENTARY.

SO THOSE ARE THE PROPOSED CHANGES.

LET'S LOOK AND SEE WHEN THEY SEEM ALL TOGETHER.

THOSE ARE ALL SEVEN.

LET'S LOOK AT WHAT THE NUMBERS LOOK LIKE.

THIS, IN THE YELLOW COLUMN, YOU'LL SEE WHAT THE STUDENT ENROLLMENT IS THIS YEAR AT EACH OF THOSE CAMPUSES.

AND THEN IF THESE NEW BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS WERE APPROVED, WHAT THEIR NEW ENROLLMENT WOULD BE. SO YOU'LL SEE IT TAKES A LOT OF THE PRESSURE OFF OF DAVIS ELEMENTARY AND PUT SOME STUDENTS IN SOME PLACES THAT HAVE PLENTY OF SPACE FOR GREAT LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS. BUT AS YOU SEE FURTHER ON DOWN THE LINE, 26, 27, 31, 32, THERE'S GOING TO BE A LOT OF GROWTH HAPPENING. SO THIS IS JUST LIKE DR.

MCFARLAND SAID, THE FIRST OF MANY ADJUSTMENTS AND REZONINGS THAT WILL NEED TO TAKE PLACE IN OUR FAST GROWTH DISTRICT.

SO WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS? WE WILL BE HOLDING TOWN HALL MEETINGS NEXT WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6TH BY ZOOM TO MAKE THAT REALLY CONVENIENT FOR PARENTS.

THERE'S GOING TO BE AT 12:00 NOON AND THEN A 6 P.M..

INVITATIONS WENT OUT THIS EVENING.

WE AS WE MENTIONED EARLIER, WE KNOW WHICH STUDENTS ARE IMPACTED BY THESE POSSIBLE REZONINGS. AND SO WE'RE ABLE TO TARGET THOSE FAMILIES DIRECTLY, LETTING THEM KNOW YOUR ADDRESS IS IMPACTED.

WE'D LIKE FOR YOU TO JOIN OUR TOWN HALL ZOOM SO YOU CAN LEARN ABOUT THIS.

WE'RE ALSO GOING TO LET FAMILIES KNOW AT THAT MEETING WHAT THEIR OPPORTUNITIES ARE.

IF THEY PREFER TO STAY AT THE CAMPUS THROUGHOUT RIGHT NOW, WE WILL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR FAMILIES TO TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO DO THAT THROUGH OUR TRADITIONAL TRANSFER PROCESS. AND IF THERE IS SPACE AND THAT'S APPROVED, WE WOULD LOVE TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN.

BUT WE WILL LET PARENTS KNOW THAT TRANSPORTATION WOULD NOT BE PROVIDED TO STUDENTS WHO CHOOSE TO STAY AT A SCHOOL THAT THEY'RE NO LONGER ZONED FOR.

THE OTHER SENSE OF URGENCY WITH THIS IS, AS DR.

MCFARLAND MENTIONED EARLIER, SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH, WE HAVE A PRE-K AND KINDERGARTEN JOURNEY FAIR. WE'RE REALLY PUSHING OUR ENROLLMENT FOR OUR NEW STUDENTS.

AND WE WANT TO LET THOSE FAMILIES KNOW IF THEY'RE IMPACTED BY A ZONING CHANGE AS THEY'RE REGISTERING. SO THEY FIND OUT NOW, NOW INSTEAD OF LATER.

AND SO WE'LL BE ABLE TO HAVE THIS INFORMATION TO LET THEM KNOW, HEY, THESE ARE OUR PENDING NEW BOUNDARIES FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.

SO THAT WAY THEY KNOW WHAT SCHOOL THEY'RE ENROLLING TO.

AND THEN THURSDAY, APRIL 14TH, WE PLAN TO BRING THIS BACK FOR BOARD APPROVAL.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROCESS? TRUSTEE MAYFIELD.

YES. SO NOT NECESSARILY THE PROCESS, BUT I WANTED TO UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT THAT OUR DISTRICT HAS WITH THE STUDENTS THAT ARE NOT IN OUR DISTRICT, THAT ARE ATTENDING OUR SCHOOLS BUT DON'T LIVE IN OUR DISTRICT.

AND IF OUR STUDENTS IN THE DISTRICT HAVE PRIORITY FOR OVER THOSE STUDENTS WHO DON'T LIVE IN THE DISTRICT. DR.

MAYFIELD, YOU ARE EXACTLY CORRECT IN YOUR YOU KNOW, YOUR ASSESSMENT ABOUT PRIORITY.

WE GIVE PRIORITY TO STUDENTS THAT ARE ZONED TO CROWLEY ISD SCHOOLS THAT ARE STUDENTS THAT LIVE IN CROWLEY ISD DISTRICT.

ALSO, WE'LL GIVE PRIORITY TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE SIBLINGS.

SO WE WILL MAKE SURE I'M NUMBER ONE KIND OF, I GUESS, VALUE GUY THING THAT WE'LL USE TO GUIDE OUR DECISION WILL BE TO MINIMIZE CHANGE FOR FAMILIES.

AND SO WE EVEN THOUGH WE WILL CHANGE THE BOUNDARIES, WE'RE GOING TO WORK WITH FAMILIES TO TRY TO MINIMIZE CHANGE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

BUT WE WILL DO IT. WE WILL RUN A REPORT OF ALL OF OUR STUDENTS WHO ARE OUT OF DISTRICT, AND OUT OF SCHOOL BOUNDARY.

OUR STUDENTS AS WELL, THEY WILL REVERT BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL HOME CAMPUS AND THEN THEY WILL HAVE TO GO BACK THROUGH THE TRANSFER PROCESS AND RECEIVE A SEAT.

THANK YOU, TRUSTEE MAYFIELD FOR YOUR QUESTION.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD? ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU, MR. [INAUDIBLE]. I'M SORRY. REAL QUICK.

WHEN DID YOU SAY YOU'RE GOING TO NOTIFY PARENTS BECAUSE ABOUT THEM? SO TONIGHT AT 7:00, AN EMAIL AND CALL OUT WENT OUT TO ALL THE PARENTS WHO ARE DIRECTLY IMPACTED, THAT HAVE KIDS THAT LIVE IN A ZONE THAT'S BEING CHANGED.

AND THEN WE'LL DO GENERAL NOTIFICATIONS VIA OUR WEBSITE FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO'S INTERESTED IN SEEING ABOUT THE CHANGE. BUT THE PARENTS WHO ARE IN A ZONE THAT IS CHANGING TONIGHT AT SEVEN SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL IN THE PHONE CALL.

I OKAY. ALL RIGHT.

GOOD QUESTION. ALSO, I'M GOING TO ASK THAT IF YOU HAVE IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO REVIEW THE REVIEW THE THE BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS AND IF YOU HAVE ANY SIGNIFICANT CONCERNS ABOUT THAT, PLEASE COMMUNICATE WITH US BEFORE SATURDAY, APRIL 9TH.

APRIL 9TH WILL BE ACTUALLY BEFORE BOARD MEETING.

SO WE WILL HAVE TO START TO GIVE PARENTS PRELIMINARY ASSIGNMENTS.

AND SO WE'D LIKE TO IF THERE'S GOING TO BE A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE, WE WILL KNOW EITHER FROM PARENTS OR FROM YOU HOPEFULLY BEFORE APRIL 9TH, BECAUSE ONCE WE BEGIN TO GIVE THE PARENTS THE PRELIMINARY ASSIGNMENTS, THEN IT'LL BE A CHALLENGE TO UNDO THAT.

SO WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE'S A CONCERN BEFORE APRIL 9TH.

[01:45:04]

THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND.

THANK YOU, MR. KIRSHNER.

AND THIS NOW BRINGS US TO AGENDA ITEM 9.2, CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK SELECTION FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 16.

DR. MCFARLAND. SO, MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, AS YOU ALL KNOW, WE ARE PREPARING FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 16, WHICH IS [INAUDIBLE] THE [INAUDIBLE] SCHOOL.

AND SO WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF SELECTING A CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK.

MR. FISCHER IS THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ITEM.

THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AGAIN.

DR. MCFARLAND, AS YOU ALLUDED TO, WE ARE IN THAT PROCESS BOARD OF SELECTING THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER AT RISK.

WE'VE STARTED THAT PROCESS.

WE'VE RECEIVED THE QUALIFICATIONS OF SEVERAL VERY CAPABLE FIRMS. WE HAVE ALSO NOW RECEIVED THE GENERAL CONDITIONS PACKAGE FROM THOSE FIRMS. AND SO WE'LL BE REVIEWING THOSE DOCUMENTS IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, THE UPCOMING DAYS, AND BE REPORTING BACK TO THE BOARD, HOPEFULLY WITH AN EXPECTATION TO BRING A RECOMMENDATION BY APRIL 14TH.

AT THE APRIL 14TH BOARD MEETING.

THAT CONCLUDES MY PRESENTATION.

IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS I [INAUDIBLE].

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR MR. FISCHER? ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU, MR. FISCHER. THANK YOU, MA'AM.

THIS MOVES US TO AGENDA ITEM 9.3.

EXTERNAL LEGAL COUNSEL REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS, RFQ.

DR. MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS.

MS. POWERS WILL BE REPORTING ON THIS ITEM.

MS. POWERS. THANK YOU, DR.

MCFARLAND. GOOD EVENING, PRESIDENT HALL.

DR. MCFARLAND, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

SO THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM.

IT'S IN REGARDS TO THE EXTERNAL LEGAL COUNSEL SERVICES.

AS YOU KNOW, THE CURRENT RFQ WILL BE EXPIRING ON JUNE 30TH OF 2022.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE 15 FIRMS THAT ARE AWARDED TO THAT RFQ.

I DID REACH OUT TO EVERY SINGLE ONE TO ADVISE THEM OF THE NEW ADVERTISEMENT.

THIS RFP IS CURRENTLY BEING ADVERTISED AND IT WILL CLOSE ON APRIL THE 13TH AT 2 P.M..

I WILL BE BRINGING THIS ITEM BACK AS A AN ITEM FOR CONSENT OR ACTION FOR THE APRIL.

IT'S PROBABLY GOING TO COME AT THE END OF APRIL, NOT THE APRIL, THE EARLY ONE.

AND ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS THAT I'M BRINGING IT TO YOUR ATTENTION IS BECAUSE AFTER I DID A COST ANALYSIS FOR THE THE COMPANIES THAT WE CURRENTLY UTILIZE, I NOTICED THE AMOUNT SOME OF THEM, THEY WERE A LITTLE MORE THAN 50,000.

SO I THOUGHT I'D JUST GO AHEAD AND BRING IT TO THE BOARD THAT WAY.

ONCE WE AWARD THE BID, IT'LL ALREADY HAVE BOARD APPROVAL.

THE INTENT WITH CROWLEY ISD IS TO AWARD MULTIPLE FIRMS THAT BEST SUITS THE DISTRICT NEEDS. AND SO AT THIS MOMENT, I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FROM MS. POWERS? ALL RIGHT.

THAT'S A FUTURE ACTION ITEM.

WE'LL SEE YOU BACK. YES, MA'AM.

THANK YOU, MS. POWERS. AGENDA ITEM 9.4 EMPLOYEE HEALTH CARE CLINIC SERVICES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. DR.

MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS, WE HAVE THE [INAUDIBLE] HERE TO ADDRESS THE EMPLOYEE HEALTH CARE CLINIC SERVICE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.

[INAUDIBLE] THANK YOU, DR.

MCFARLAND, DR. HALL, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

WE ARE CURRENTLY WITH TEXAS RESOURCE GROUP FOR OUR EMPLOYEE HEALTH CARE CLINIC.

THE CONTRACT EXPIRES THE SUMMER, SO WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING AN ESTABLISHED HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATION TO CONTINUE PROVIDING THOSE SERVICES FOR OUR EMPLOYEES, THEIR SPOUSES AND THEIR CHILDREN, [INAUDIBLE] OR THE DEPENDENTS.

SO OBVIOUSLY THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE WOULD BEGIN AUGUST 1ST, 2022, AND MOVE THROUGH JULY 31, 2023 WITH AN OPTION FOR RENEWALS FOR FOUR YEARS IN ONE YEAR INCREMENTS.

AND WE'LL BRING THAT TO YOU AS WELL.

ON THE. DID YOU? OKAY. I HAVE JUST SOME INFORMATION ON THE ATTACHMENT HERE, SHOWING THE MONTHLY VISITS THAT WE HAVE WHERE WE UTILIZE THE CLINIC.

YOU CAN SEE 1920, WE HAD OVER 1000 VISITS, 2021 903 AND THEY ATTRIBUTED THAT TO COVID, THAT THERE WEREN'T AS MANY PEOPLE GOING TO THE DOCTORS DURING COVID.

CURRENTLY WE WERE UP TO 562 AT THIS.

WHEN I GOT THIS INFORMATION FROM THEM, THEY BELIEVE WE WERE GOING TO REACH THE 1,000 MARK AGAIN FOR THE VISITS.

BUT ONE OF THE THINGS I ASKED THEM, BECAUSE SOME OF US THAT USE THE CLINIC ARE REPEATERS.

AND SO OUT OF THOSE TWO AND A HALF YEARS OF VISITS OR 2400 VISITS ARE UNIQUE.

[01:50:03]

NUMBER COUNT IS 965.

SO IN OTHER WORDS, 965 OF OUR EMPLOYEES OR THEIR FAMILIES HAS USED THE HEALTH CARE CLINIC. CURRENTLY, WE WERE UNDER CONTRACT WITH TEXAS HEALTH RESOURCES FOR $271,000 A YEAR, AND THAT WAS AS MANY VISITS AS AS DEEMED NECESSARY UP TO 1500 VISITS PER YEAR. IF WE HAD MORE THAN 1500 VISITS PER YEAR, WE'D BE ON A DIFFERENT TIER AND HAVE TO PAY A LITTLE BIT MORE. BUT BUT WHAT WE DID, WE SET OUT AN RFP AND IT CLOSES TOMORROW.

SO FAR WE HAVE ONE.

WE THINK WE'RE GOING TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE TOMORROW, BUT WE'RE TRYING TO, AGAIN, HOLD THE COST DOWN FOR CROWLEY ISD AT THE SAME TIME AS PROVIDING THIS BENEFIT FOR OUR EMPLOYEES, BECAUSE IT IS A GREAT BENEFIT, THE ONE THE CONTRACT WE'RE UNDER RIGHT NOW, IT WAS A $10 FEE. IT REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAD INSURANCE, IT WAS JUST A $10 FLAT FEE FOR ACUTE CARE, IF THERE WERE ANY LAB WORK OR ANYTHING THAT WAS EXTRA BUT AND SHOTS WERE EXTRA. BUT IT WAS A REALLY NICE BENEFIT.

BUT WE ARE LOOKING INTO THIS TO TRY TO BRING SOMETHING TO CROWLEY ISD.

THAT'S A LITTLE LESS EXPENSIVE FOR CROWLEY ISD.

SO WE'LL BRING THIS BACK TO YOU IN APRIL.

THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM.

DO YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS? ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS? TRUSTEEDAVIS. WHAT ARE THE OFFICE HOURS OF THE CLINIC? I EVEN GOT THERE AND I THEY WERE NORMAL HOURS.

I THINK ONE OF THE EVENINGS AND DURING THE WEEK THEY HAD EXTENDED HOURS LIKE TILL SEVEN.

BUT DURING COVID, I'M NOT SURE WHAT THE HOURS WERE.

IT'S LIKE I SAID, IT JUST COINCIDENCE WAS MY MAIN DOCTOR.

AND THAT'S THE VISIT OR THE OFFICE THAT WE WOUND UP USING.

IT'S ALL BRIAN [INAUDIBLE].

SO A LOT OF PEOPLE FROM THE CROWLEY AREA THOUGHT THAT WAS KIND OF FAR.

SO WE'RE LOOKING INTO THAT TOO, TO SEE IF WE CAN PICK UP MAYBE A CLINIC ON THE NORTH END AND ONE ON THE SOUTH END OF THE DISTRICT.

IT SAYS ON THE WEBSITE, IT'S MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 8 TO 5.

SO YEAH, THANK YOU.

YES, I THOUGHT ONE OF THE EVENINGS WAS LATER, BUT I GUESS NOT.

TRUSTEE DAVIS, ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FOR MS. ADRIAN? ALL RIGHT.

THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM.

WE'LL SEE YOU BACK.

THANK YOU. OUR NEXT FUTURE AND LAST FUTURE ACTION ITEM IS AGENDA ITEM 9.5.

REFUSE SERVICE BID.

DR. MCFARLAND. MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS.

MS. POWERS IS PREPARED TO ADDRESS THIS ITEM.

MS. POWERS. THANK YOU AGAIN, DR.

MCFARLAND, PRESIDENT DAVIS, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

SO THIS IS A FUTURE ACTION ITEM.

IT'S REGARDING THE REVIEW SERVICES, OUR TRASH AND RECYCLE.

THE RENEWAL IS SET TO EXPIRE ON JUNE 30TH OF 2022.

SO THE DISTRICT HAS ELECTED TO TAKE THE SECOND OPTIONAL YEAR, WHICH WILL START ON JANUARY, I'M SORRY, JANUARY.

JULY 1ST, 2022.

I DID PROVIDE FOR YOU THE LAST TWO YEARS OF EXPENDITURES SO THAT YOU COULD SEE THIS IS WHY WE'RE BRINGING THIS TO THE BOARD.

AGAIN, IT WILL BE JUST THE SECOND OPTIONAL NEW OPTIONAL RENEWAL.

AND ONCE WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS, WE'LL BRING IT BACK TO THE BOARD IN APRIL.

AND I WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE.

OKAY. THIS IS FOR OUR [INAUDIBLE] SERVICE.

GOTCHA. YES.

TRASH AND RECYCLE. I SAID THAT WRONG.

ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS FOR MS. POWERS? ALL RIGHT.

WE'LL SEE YOU BACK. THANK YOU, MR. POWERS. ALL RIGHT.
