BUT WE'RE INCREDIBLY PROUD OF THE WORK THAT OUR CAMPUSES, OUR TEACHERS AND OUR STUDENTS HAVE DONE DURING THIS TIME. AND THEN WE ALSO WANT TO HIGHLIGHT THAT 100% OF CROWLEY ISD SCHOOLS MEET OR EXCEED STATE STANDARDS. AND WE HAVE DOUBLED THE NUMBER OF DISTINCTIONS GOING TO OUR CAMPUSES SINCE 2018. AND IN 2022, WE HAD 13 SCHOOLS RECEIVE 30 DISTINCTIONS IN THE LAST YEAR. TEACHER DESIGNATIONS RESULT IN BONUS FUNDING FOR OUR DISTRICT TO REWARD OUR MOST EFFECTIVE TEACHERS. DESIGNATIONS CAN BE EARNED THROUGH TWO DIFFERENT ROUTES. FIRST, NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFIED TEACHERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO EARN A RECOGNIZED DESIGNATION. SECOND, DISTRICTS MAY DESIGNATE TEACHERS THROUGH AN APPROVED LOCAL SYSTEM. EACH DESIGNATION LEVEL RECEIVES DIFFERENT LEVELS OF BONUS PAY. OUR AVERAGE ALLOTMENT IS ABOUT $4,500 FOR THE RECOGNIZED LEVEL, $9,000 FOR THE EXEMPLARY LEVEL, AND ABOUT $17,000 FOR OUR MASTER LEVEL TEACHERS. ONCE A TEACHER EARNS A DESIGNATION, IT REMAINS ON THEIR TEACHING CERTIFICATE FOR FIVE YEARS. BECAUSE OF THE WAY TIA IS STRUCTURED. DESIGNATIONS ARE VERY DIFFICULT TO EARN. THERE ARE TWO DESIGNATION COMPONENTS REQUIRED BY T, A TEACHER, OBSERVATION AND STUDENT PERFORMANCE. TEACHER OBSERVATION IS BASED ON T TESTS. STUDENT PERFORMANCE IS MEASURED BY STUDENT GROWTH OVER THE COURSE OF A YEAR. TO BE SURE THAT OUR SYSTEM IS BOTH FAIR AND TRANSPARENT, WE ARE PHASING IN TIA. PHASE ONE AND CROWLEY ISD IS SHOWN HERE. YOU'RE SO EXCITED AND IT'S GRATITUDE, BUT IT'S ALSO HUMBLE BECAUSE I DIDN'T TAKE IT AS IT WAS ME. IT WAS. IT WAS US. IT WAS EVERYONE. IT WAS THESE KIDS, THESE PARENTS. IT WAS THE TEACHERS. IT WAS A VERY COLLABORATIVE EFFORT. I FELT PROUD. I FELT PROUD AS A PARENT. I FELT PROUD AS A FAMILY MEMBER OF THIS SCHOOL THAT IS THERE GOING UP. WE SHOULD NEVER GO DOWN. WE'RE GOING UP. IT MEANS THAT THE TEACHERS HERE ARE PUTTING 110% IN IN IT AND THEY'RE GETTING SOMETHING OUT OF IT. THEN YOU GET THAT DISTINCTION. ON TOP OF THAT. IT'S LIKE A CHERRY ON TOP, YOU KNOW, CATEGORIES, THE ACHIEVEMENT, THE GROWTH, CLOSING THE GAPS. AND IT'S TOUCHING TO KNOW THAT WE ARE REALLY CHANGING THE FUTURE FOR SOME OF OUR CHILDREN. YOU KNOW, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE STUDENT BODY OF HARGRAVE, WE LOOK AT THE DEMOGRAPHICS OF THAT CAMPUS. WE LOOK AT KIND OF WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE CAMPUS AND THE LEVEL OF ACHIEVEMENT. WHAT WE KNOW IS THAT IT PROVIDES US WITH CREDIBLE EVIDENCE THAT DIVERSITY AND EXCELLENCE IS NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. THIS IS ONE EXAMPLE THAT HELPS US PROVE THAT CASE. IN THE CASE IS SIMPLY THIS IS THAT ALL KIDS CAN PERFORM AT HIGH LEVELS WHEN WE HAVE THE RIGHT SYSTEMS, THE RIGHT PROGRAMS, THE RIGHT STRUCTURES AND THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN PLACE. AND RIGHT NOW WE HAVE THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN PLACE AT HARGRAVE. WE HAVE THE RIGHT STRUCTURES, THE RIGHT SYSTEMS. AND WE ARE TAKING THOSE SYSTEMS AND THOSE STRUCTURES AND WE ARE SCALABLE DISTRICT WIDE. BEFORE WE LOOK AT THE RESIDENTIAL ACTIVITY IN THE DISTRICT, LET'S TAKE A LOOK BACK AND WHERE ENROLLMENT IS CURRENTLY. THE ACTUAL OFFICIAL NUMBER FOR THE 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR AS OF THE OCTOBER SNAPSHOT DATE WAS A RECORD 16,778. SO YOU CAN SEE HERE, ACTIVITY ARE THE SNAPSHOT NUMBERS OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS AND YOU CAN SEE [01:05:01] HOW THE GROWTH HAS REALLY ACCELERATED OVER THESE LAST FIVE YEARS. THE DISTRICT HAS SEEN A NET INCREASE OF JUST UNDER 1500 TOTAL STUDENTS SINCE THE FALL OF 2017. NOW, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE NUMBERS ON AN ANNUAL BASIS, YOU CAN SEE A PERCENTAGE GROWTH NUMBERS THERE ON THE TOP CHART IN YOUR NUMERIC CHANGE NUMBERS ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT CHART. YOU CAN SEE THAT THE DISTRICT HAS GROWN IN TERMS OF TOTAL ENROLLMENT SEVEN OUT OF THE LAST EIGHT YEARS. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT DRAMATIC IMPACT THAT THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC HAD FROM 2019 TO 2020. SO WHEN YOU WHEN YOU LOOK AT EVERYTHING, INCLUDING THE PANDEMIC YEAR, THE DISTRICT IS IS GROWING JUST UNDER 2%. BUT IF YOU EXCLUDE THAT DROP THERE DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, THE DISTRICT HAS BEEN AVERAGING ABOUT 2.7% OVER REALLY SINCE 2016. SO THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS I WANT TO EMPHASIZE TONIGHT, THAT WE'RE SEEING THAT GRADUAL CHANGE TOWARDS A FASTER ANNUAL RATE OF GROWTH. WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE GROWTH BY ATTENDANCE LEVEL, YOU CAN SEE THE DATA HERE FOR THE LAST TEN YEARS IN TWO YEAR INCREMENTS. MUCH OF THE GROWTH HERE RECENTLY HAS COME AT THE PRE-K LEVEL. REMEMBER THAT AT 2017, THE ENROLLMENT WAS JUST ABOUT 500 STUDENTS IN PRE-K. BUT ONCE THE DISTRICT WENT TO FULL DAY PRE-K, YOU'VE SEEN THAT YOU CAN SEE HOW THAT NUMBER HAS CLIMBED TO JUST ABOUT 1150 STUDENTS. THAT'S AN INCREASE OF 624, MOST OF THE DISTRICT. THAT'S ABOUT 43% OF THE GROWTH THAT THE DISTRICT HAS SEEN OVER THESE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. THE BALANCE OF IT HAS OCCURRED, OBVIOUSLY, AT THE OTHER ATTENDANCE LEVELS. ONE THING I'D LIKE TO POINT OUT IS THAT WE WE DID SEE A DECLINE. YOU THINK BACK OF ALL THE THINGS WE'VE TALKED ABOUT IN PREVIOUS PRESENTATIONS. THE FACT THAT LOCAL CHARTER SCHOOLS AND OPEN ENROLLMENT AND THINGS LIKE THAT HAD ON THE DISTRICT, ESPECIALLY AT THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL AFTER 2015. THE GOOD NEWS IS WE'RE SEEING THOSE TRENDS CHANGE. YOU CAN SEE THAT THE NUMBER OF ELEMENTARY STUDENTS BACK AS OF OCTOBER WAS UP 3.3% COMPARED TO THE PRE-COVID LEVEL. MIDDLE SCHOOL IS HAS BEEN FLAT. AS YOU THINK ABOUT SOME OF THOSE SMALLER CLASSES COMING UP THROUGH OVER THESE OVER THESE LAST FEW YEARS. BUT NOTE THAT THE HIGH SCHOOL ENROLLMENT NUMBERS ARE NOW UP ABOUT 10.9% OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS TO A RECORD HIGH OF JUST UNDER 5300. THIS SLIDE HERE GIVES YOU THE TOTALS BY GRADE LEVEL, GIVES YOU A LITTLE BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THAT RECORD HIGH SCHOOL NUMBER HAS OCCURRED. I'VE HIGHLIGHTED THE LARGEST CLASS SIZES OVER THESE LAST 15 YEARS, SO YOU CAN SEE HOW THAT GROWTH, THAT WAY THE PROBE THAT CAME IN AND ELEMENTARY BACK IN THAT 2007 TO 2010 TIME FRAME AND EVEN UP THROUGH 2012 HAS AGED UP. AND MANY OF THOSE KIDS TODAY ARE IN HIGH SCHOOL GRADES. SO YOU HAVE RECORD ENROLLMENT IN 10TH GRADE AS WELL AS YOUR LARGEST TOTAL SENIOR CLASS. ALL OF THAT ROLLING UP INTO THE RECORD ENROLLMENT FOR THE DISTRICT. BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THOSE COLUMNS TO THE LEFT FOR THE ELEMENTARY NUMBERS, YOU CAN SEE HOW THEY DID DECLINE. BACK IN THAT 2015 TIME FRAME OF 2018 AND SEE HOW THEY'RE GRADUALLY INCREASING BACK TO THE LEVELS THAT WE SAW IN SOME OF THESE PEAK YEARS TEN YEARS AGO. SO ALL OF THIS IS POINTING TO GROWTH ACCELERATING GOING FORWARD. WE'VE, SOME OTHER METRICS THAT WE MONITOR. I'VE SHOWED YOU THIS CHART HERE SHOWING THE YELLOW LINE REPRESENTS THE 12TH GRADE ENROLLMENT VERSUS KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE ENROLLMENT. OTHER DISTRICTS, WE'RE SEEING AN INVERSION WHERE THERE'S A LOT MORE STUDENTS THAT ARE GRADUATING THAN WHAT ARE COMING IN. YOU ALL ARE SEEING A PRETTY BALANCED NUMBER HERE RECENTLY, AND THAT CONTINUES TO POSITION THE DISTRICT FOR GROWTH. THE BIRTH RATE DATA SHOWED HERE ON THIS CHART, IT'S BEEN GRADUALLY INCREASING. THE BLUE LINE THERE REPRESENTS ALL OF THE BIRTHS FOR THE LOCAL ZIP CODES. AND YOU CAN SEE HOW THE NUMBERS THAT WE HAVE FOR 2019, WHICH IS THE MOST RECENT DATA, WERE THE HIGHEST THAT WE HAD IN OUR WEEK RECEIVED IN 15 YEARS FROM THE STATE. SO I'VE GOT HERE ON THE LOW END THAT THE ENROLLMENT FOR KINDERGARTEN IS PROJECTED TO BE JUST ABOVE 1040 OR SO. BUT I REALLY THINK THAT NUMBER WILL BEGIN TO APPROACH A LOT QUICKER. I'VE GOT IT LISTED HERE ON 2024 THE RESIDENTIAL GROWTH THAT YOU'RE ABOUT TO SEE. I THINK IT WILL TREND CLOSE TO 1100. HERE. YEARS. SO EACH YEAR WHERE YOU WERE MONITORING WHAT THE HOUSES THAT ARE BUILT IN THE DISTRICT, WHAT THE EXISTING HOME SUPPLY IS YIELDING IN TERMS [01:10:09] OF STUDENT YIELDS. SO THE DATA THAT YOU SEE HERE IS UPDATED WITH JANUARY GEOCODING OF STUDENT ADDRESSES ENROLLED IN THE DISTRICT COMPARED TO THE OCCUPIED HOMES COUNT FOR THE END OF DECEMBER. YOU CAN SEE THAT WE'VE SEEN PRETTY CONSISTENT NUMBERS OVERALL, THE TYPICAL SINGLE FAMILY HOME IN THE DISTRICT IS YIELDING ABOUT 0.4 STUDENTS PER HOME. THE HOUSING SAMPLE CONTINUED, CONTINUES TO GROW. AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE OVERALL 24,000 PLUS HOUSEHOLDS THAT WE'VE COUNTED OVER THESE LAST 20 YEARS, AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THAT YIELD IS STILL BEEN ABOUT 0.4. A NOTE HERE, WE'VE ALWAYS GONE WITH THE AVERAGES FOR ALL OF THE SUBDIVISIONS TOGETHER. IF YOU WERE TO POOL ALL OF THESE NUMBERS OR OCCUPIED HOMES IN TOTAL STUDENTS, THAT NUMBER IS ABOUT 0.45 ON THE ACTIVE SUBDIVISIONS. SO AGAIN, ANOTHER INDICATION THAT WE'RE SEEING A LITTLE BIT SLIGHTLY HIGHER YIELD THAN WHAT WE'VE SEEN IN THE PAST. JUST UNDERSTAND THAT WE'VE BEEN VERY CONSERVATIVE ON OUR NUMBERS DUE TO ALL OF THE FACTORS THAT HAVE BEEN AT PLAY HERE IN THE DISTRICT. BUT AS YOU ALL HAVE SEEN TONIGHT, ALL OF THE OUTSTANDING THINGS THAT ARE HAPPENING, ONE OF THE THINGS I'M ALSO SEEING IN THE DATA IS THESE YIELDS ARE INCHING UP WITH EACH TIME THAT WE TO APARTMENT DEVELOPMENTS, THEY'RE YIELDING ABOUT 0.2 ENROLLED STUDENTS PER UNIT. AND THAT'S GENERALLY WHAT WE SAW A YEAR AGO. ONE OF THE THINGS THAT HAS CHANGED RECENTLY IS MANY OF THE APARTMENTS THAT DEVELOPMENTS THAT HAVE COME ONLINE IN RECENT YEARS HAVE BEEN MORE OF THE 3 TO 5 STORY MID RISE DESIGNS. THOSE HAVE FEWER THREE BEDROOMS AND THEY YIELD FEWER STUDENTS. SO SEEING THAT NUMBER LEVEL OFF ABOUT 0.2 IS VERY NORMAL. IT'S WHAT WE'RE SEEING AROUND THE STATE. THE ONES THAT I'VE HIGHLIGHTED HERE ON THE SLIDE SHOW YOU THAT THEY'RE IN THAT 0.1 TO 0.2 RANGE. THAT'S VERY TYPICAL FOR THE MODERN APARTMENTS THAT WE'RE SEEING DEVELOP TODAY. SO OBVIOUSLY, THE GROWTH THAT'S BEEN OCCURRING HERE IN THE DISTRICT IS DRIVEN BY NEW RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT. RECALL THAT WE'VE TALKED ABOUT LAST YEAR, THE RAPID RISE OF NEW HOMES ACROSS DFW THROUGH 2020 AND 2021, AND THEN TO THE FIRST TWO QUARTERS OF 2022. SO WE WERE TALKING ABOUT A SLOWDOWN HAPPENING BEGINNING TO HAPPEN IN THE SUMMER OF 2022 AND INTO THE FALL. AND WE WERE EXPECTING THIS YEAR TO SEE ABOUT A 30 TO 40% DECLINE IN ACTIVITY. IT'S BEEN A REALLY INTERESTING FEW MONTHS OUT THERE IN THE HOUSING MARKET BECAUSE THAT SLOWDOWN THAT WE TALKED ABOUT LAST YEAR, IT'S LASTED ABOUT FOUR MONTHS AND THEN THE RATE WENT TO 7% IN SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER, AND THEN IT CAME BACK DOWN TO 6.1 ON A 30 YEAR MORTGAGE, AND THEN IT CAME BACK DOWN TO 6.1 IN DECEMBER AND THEN INTO JANUARY WITH THE INCENTIVES THAT BUILDERS ARE OFFERING. AND WE'VE JUST SEEN BUILDERS TALK ABOUT, YOU KNOW, ARE YOU EXPERIENCING RECORD ACTIVITY? JUST ASKING EACH OTHER. YES. SO WHAT WE'VE SEEN IS A REALLY QUICK COMEBACK THIS YEAR. SO THAT'S INTERESTING. YOU KNOW, AS WE THOUGHT ABOUT THE ACTIVITY A YEAR AGO. BUT WHAT I THINK WE'RE MAYBE WE'RE HEADED TOWARDS MORE OF A 15 TO 20% DECLINE AND MAYBE NOT AS SEVERE AS WHAT WE. UM, EXPECTED A YEAR AGO. MR.. BUT WITH THOSE POSITIVE STORIES THAT WE'VE HEARD IN DECEMBER AND JANUARY ESPECIALLY, YOU KNOW, THINGS ARE LOOKING BRIGHTER FOR 2023. HERE'S A SLIDE THAT SHOWS YOU WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE INTEREST RATE, WITH IT PEAKING BACK IN LATE OCTOBER AND HOW IT'S COME BACK TOWARDS 6%. SO A LOT OF THE CONSUMERS SEEM TO BE MAKING PEACE WITH THE HIGHER RATE. AND THAT'S THAT'S REALLY INVIGORATED THE DEVELOPMENT OUT THERE AS WELL AS THE HOME SALES IN THE MARKET. ANOTHER THING THAT CONTINUES TO HELP DRIVE NEW HOME GROWTH HERE IN THE REGION, WE'RE CONTINUING TO SEE PHENOMENAL JOB GROWTH. [01:15:08] THE TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION, YOU CAN SEE HERE IN DALLAS-FORT WORTH, THEY REPORTED EXTREMELY STRONG NUMBERS IN OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER. AND THROUGH THE END OF THE YEAR, THE DFW AREA HAS SOARED PAST THE PRE PANDEMIC LEVEL. SO ALL OF THAT UNEMPLOYMENT RATE NOW IS DOWN UNDER FOUR, 4% AS WELL. SO ALL OF THAT IS CONTINUED TO REINVIGORATE THE HOUSING MARKET AS WE MOVE INTO EARLY 2023. LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE NUMBERS IN THE DISTRICT. THIS SLIDE HERE SHOWS YOU THE ANNUAL NUMBERS FOR EXISTING HOMES. THE OFFICIAL TOTAL THAT WE COUNTED FOR 2020 TO JUST UNDER 1300. THAT'S DOWN A LITTLE BIT. THE DISTRICT MEDIAN SOLD PRICE IN 2022 WAS A RECORD 335. NOW ONTO THE NEW HOME CONSTRUCTION NUMBERS. AND WHEN YOU'RE DRIVING AROUND AND YOU'RE SEEING ALL OF THIS ACTIVITY, YOU CAN SEE OUR QUARTERLY COUNTS HERE ON THIS SLIDE. A COUPLE OF THINGS TO POINT OUT. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF MOVE INS IN THE THIRD QUARTER WAS THE MOST THAT WE HAVE EVER COUNTED. SO IT BROKE THE 20 YEAR RECORD THAT WAS SET BACK IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2002. THAT'S SOMETHING I WASN'T SURE I WAS EVER GOING TO SEE, BUT IT DID 476 MOVE INS AND THEN IT MODERATE A LITTLE BIT. BUT THE FOURTH QUARTER IS TYPICALLY ONE OF THE SLOWER QUARTERS. SO THE HOUSING MARKET HERE, THE BUILDERS PRODUCED JUST OVER 1400 NEW HOME STARTS IN 2022 AND JUST UNDER 1400 TOTAL CLOSINGS AND CLOSINGS WERE UP 33% YEAR OVER YEAR. AND THAT'S THE HIGHEST RATE OF NEW HOME OCCUPANCY THAT WE'VE SEEN HERE IN THE DISTRICT IN MORE THAN 15 YEARS. YOU CAN SEE THE DEVELOPMENT. NEARLY JUST OVER 1600 HOMES WERE OR LOTS WERE DELIVERED IN THE DISTRICT IN 2022. THAT'S CONTINUING TO FUEL WHAT IS THE MOST ACTIVE HOUSING MARKET ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF DFW. SO RECALL HERE WE SEGMENT ALL OF THE DFW ACTIVITY BY ISD BOUNDARY AND YOU CAN SEE OVERALL OF THE 90 DISTRICTS THAT MAKE UP THE REGION. CROWLEY IS RANKED EIGHT. BUT WHEN YOU LOOK AT ALL OF THE DISTRICT ACROSS THE SOUTH SIDE OF DFW, CROWLEY IS THE MOST ACTIVE. SO MOST OF THE ACTIVITY, 90% HAS BEEN IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH PORTION OF THE DISTRICT. YOU CAN SEE THE TOP PRODUCING SUBDIVISIONS HERE. MANY OF THE ONES UP IN WELL, I GUESS I'D SAY MANY OF THESE SUBDIVISIONS ARE SPREAD OUT ACROSS THE DISTRICT. THAT'S SOMETHING WE'VE SEEN MARKET WIDE TODAY. THE DFW MEDIAN NEW HOME IS ABOUT 4075. CROWLEY TODAY IS ABOUT 344. ALL RIGHT, SO IN TERMS OF WHAT'S COMING. THERE ARE 1000 HOUSES IN PROCESS TODAY. THOSE ARE ONES THAT ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION BUT NOT FINISHED AND BEING LIVED IN. ANOTHER 2200 VACANT LOTS ARE FULLY DEVELOPED AND READY FOR HOUSES START AT ANY TIME. AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I CERTAINLY WANT TO POINT OUT THAT IS A PRIORITY OF OURS AS IT AS IT DEALS WITH SCHOOL FINANCE IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE GIVE IN CROWLEY ISD IS WE GIVE PROPERTY TAX RELIEF. THERE IS A HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION THAT IS GIVEN BY CROWLEY ISD THAT EVERY HOMEOWNER IN OUR DISTRICT, THAT THAT IS THEIR PRIMARY RESIDENCE, THEY ARE ABLE TO BENEFIT FROM THAT HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION. BUT I THINK THAT IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE STATE ELIMINATE THE PENALTIES THAT GO ALONG WITH THAT SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE TO DO THAT AND STILL BE ABLE TO PROPERLY FUND ALL OF OUR OUR SCHOOLS HERE IN CROWLEY ISD. MADAM PRESIDENT, IF I COULD JUST ADD ON TO THE COMMENTS THAT BOTH YOU AND JESSIE DAVIS SHARED. I, TOO, HAVE BEEN TO THE CAPITAL ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, AND I BELIEVE THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME GOING AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF CROWLEY ISD AND TO THE TO TRUSTEE DAVIS POINT WHEN WE WERE GARNERING WHAT OUR POSITION AND PRIORITIES WERE GOING TO BE FOR THIS YEAR, WE STARTED AS A POLICY COMMITTEE BY LOOKING, EXAMINING LIKE THE BIG FIVE, IF YOU WILL, THE BIG FIVE DISTRICTS, LOOKING AT THEIR PRIORITIES AND LOOKING TO SEE WHERE WE COULD RELATE TO THEM AND THEN ALSO WHERE WE THERE WAS A DISCONNECT. AND SO WHAT I CAN SAY IN THIS EXPERIENCE, ONE, I THOUGHT IT WAS QUITE A SUCCESS. I CAN SAY THAT I FELT VERY CONFIDENT IN THE CONVERSATIONS THAT WE HAD WITH THE INFORMATION THAT WE WERE ARMED WITH, AND THERE WAS A LOT OF TIME TAKEN NOT ONLY TO IDENTIFY OUR PRIORITIES, BUT ALSO THE TIME THAT DR. MCFARLAND IS THAT TO TO HELP PREPARE US SO THAT WE WOULD BE WE WERE PREPARED TO HAVE DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS. WE WERE PREPARED TO HAVE A REBUTTAL WHEN OUR REPRESENTATIVES PUSHED BACK OR WHEN THEY THOUGHT WE DIDN'T KNOW, BUT WE DID. SO THEREFORE, PRIORITIES, WE'RE FOCUSING ON LEARNING LAWS, ADVOCATING FOR A STUDENT AND TEACHER MENTAL HEALTH, DEALING WITH STAFF SHORTAGES, AND THEN LOOKING AT FUNDING FOR SCHOOLS. SO THERE WAS TALK ABOUT ESSER, WHAT HAPPENS BECAUSE THAT'S FEDERAL FUNDING. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ESSER FUNDS END? WHAT OUR SCHOOLS WANT TO DO AND THEY SHOWED US A PERCENTAGE OF HOW MANY SCHOOLS USE. ESSER FUNDS WOULD USE THOSE FUNDS FUNDS FOR, AND THEN TALKED ABOUT BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE, THE RED AND THE BLUE, WHAT THEIR PRIORITIES WERE AND HOW WE CAN ALLOCATE WHEN WE WENT TO THE HILL, SOME COMMONALITIES WERE BOTH SIDES RECOGNIZE THAT THERE ARE STAFFING SHORTAGES. THEY RECOGNIZE THAT WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO FOSTER RETAINING EDUCATORS, RECRUITING EDUCATORS, AND ALSO INCREASING TEACHER SALARY AND THEN LOOKING AT MAKING IT PROGRAM COVID 19 SCHOOL FUNDING OR CHILDHOOD NUTRITION PERMANENT. SO THAT ATTACHMENT TO THE FARM BILL SO THAT STUDENTS DON'T HAVE TO PAY FOR LUNCHES AGAIN, BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, THIS YEAR WE WENT BACK TO PAYING FOR LUNCHES. AND SO THOSE ARE THINGS THAT IMPACT NATIONALLY, NOT JUST LOCALLY IN TEXAS. SO IT WAS AN AWESOME TIME TO AND THEN I JUST MET A LOT OF WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND GOT CONTACTS. SO WHEN WE LEARN THAT THIS YEAR'S GRADUATION HAS A TICKET RESTRICTION, IT WAS DISHEARTENING NOT ONLY FOR OUR SENIOR WHO HAS WORKED EXTREMELY HARD, BUT ALSO FOR ALL OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS WHO HAVE SUPPORTED HER ALONG THE WAY, INCLUDING THREE SETS OF GRANDPARENTS, AUNTS, UNCLES AND OUR 82 YEAR OLD NANA, WHO HAS WAITED FOR THIS DAY FOR A LONG TIME. SINCE THERE HASN'T BEEN ANY COMMUNICATION FROM CISD OR HIGH SCHOOL UNTIL A FEW DAYS AGO. THE ACTUAL COST OF THIS PURCHASE IS $80,390, AND THIS PURCHASE WILL BE FUNDED BY THE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT GRANT OF THE AIRCRAFT PILOTS GRANT PROGRAM. PLEASE ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE TO YOU MS.. THIS FLIGHT SIMULATOR WILL HAVE ALL CONTROLS FOR PILOT AND COPILOT AND AFFORDS A 260 DEGREE VIEW FOR A REALISTIC LOOK AND FEEL OF BEING IN AN ACTUAL AIRCRAFT FOR THE STUDENTS. SINCE THIS MODEL OF SIMULATOR IS APPROVED BY THE FAA, IT WOULD ALLOW THE STUDENTS BETWEEN TWO AND 10 HOURS OF THE 40 FLIGHT HOURS NEEDED FOR THEIR PRIVATE PILOT'S LICENSE. SO THAT IS OUR ULTIMATE GOAL WITH THE STUDENTS. WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS PURCHASE AND THE OPPORTUNITIES THAT IT OPENS UP FOR OUR STUDENTS. WE PREPARED FOR THAT IN ADVANCE. JUST ONE OTHER QUICK QUESTION. HOW MANY STUDENTS ARE IN THIS PROGRAM? RIGHT NOW, THIS IS OUR FIRST YEAR OF AVIATION FLIGHT. WE HAVE APPROXIMATELY 15 STUDENTS IN IT. WE'RE LOOKING TO KEEP THE NUMBERS LOW, SIMPLY SO THAT AS WE EXPAND, WE CAN WORK WITH OUR IAG AS WELL AS OUR FLIGHT SCHOOL PARTNERS AND TRY TO GET THE STUDENTS THROUGH THE TOTAL FLIGHT HOURS. OUR ULTIMATE GOAL IS TO GET THEM THROUGH ALL 40 OF THEIR FLIGHT HOURS. 2 TO 10 OF THOSE CAN BE DONE IN THE SIMULATOR. THE OTHERS WOULD HAVE TO BE DONE WITH A LICENSED PILOT IN AN ACTUAL AIRCRAFT. SO BUYING AN AIRPLANE NEXT. I ALREADY DID THAT. DID WE CALL THE NEWS STATIONS AND LET THEM KNOW WE DID THIS? WELL, THE ONE THAT WE PURCHASED IS NOT MEANT TO BE AIR WORTHY. IT IS FOR OUR AVIATION MAINTENANCE PROGRAM. AND SOME OF THOSE STUDENTS WILL ALSO USE THIS FLIGHT SIMULATOR AS WELL, BECAUSE THEY NEED TO BE VERSED ON THE AIRCRAFT FROM THE PILOT AS WELL AS THE MAINTENANCE STANDPOINT. BUT MOSTLY IT IS FOR OUR FLIGHT STUDENTS AND THE ONE THAT WE PURCHASED ALREADY WILL NOT BE FLOWN AGAIN. BUT I WANT THE MEDIA TO KNOW WE HAD. MY QUESTION IS SELFISH. CAN I GO IN THERE? WELL, I CAN'T ANSWER THAT. THAT'S ABOVE ME. SO I WILL. ANYBODY WHO HAS APPROVAL WILL COME IN AND I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO LET YOU COME IN AND TAKE A TURN. BUT THOSE DUAL CONTROLS WILL GIVE US THE MEANS FOR A PILOT COPILOT. SO WHEN WE HAVE OUR LICENSED PILOT, THEY CAN BE SITTING IN ONE SEAT WITH THEIR OWN SET OF CONTROLS AND THE STUDENT CAN BE IN THE OTHER, AS THEY WOULD IN A NORMAL AIRCRAFT THAT THEY USE FOR FLIGHT TRAINING. THE MORE HOURS YOU PUT ON IT, THE QUICKER THE LIFE EXPECTANCY IS GOING TO BE EXCEEDED. BUT WITH THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS BEING KEPT LOW AND US TRACKING OUR FLIGHT HOURS, I, I WOULD HAZARD A GUESS THAT IT WOULD BE A GOOD LONG TIME. THIS MODEL IS BASED ON A CESSNA 172, WHICH HAS BEEN AROUND FOREVER, AND THAT IS ONE OF THE FAVORED AIRCRAFT OF PRIVATE PILOTS. SO I WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE A LOT, BUT I DON'T KNOW FOR CERTAIN. I CAN FIND TRY TO FIND OUT. NO, YOUR ANSWER IS SUFFICIENT. AGAIN, WITH IT BEING BASED ON A PARTICULAR PLANE THAT HAS BEEN IN EXISTENCE FOR A WHILE, THEN THAT KIND OF GIVES ME THE ANSWER TO THAT. AND THIS WAS PART OF THEIR TRYING TO PROMOTE MORE PILOTS TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE THE MANPOWER TO CONTINUE WITH OUR COMMERCIAL PILOTING AND SUCH. THANK YOU.
