THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THAT WE HAVE MORE VOLUNTEERS AT THE NOCCA HIGH SCHOOL THAT WE'VE EVER HAD, SO THAT WAS AWESOME.
THANK YOU-ALL UPLOADED TO GO FOR SURE.
ALSO, I JUST WANT TO COUNT IT.
IF WE WANT TO TALK ABOUT THIS HERE IN A SECOND, WE JUST WANT TO LET YOU GO ABOARD THE MIRROR.
WE'RE IN A BILL OF CELEBRATING NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH, AND I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT FOR US TO RECOGNIZE THAT WHEN WE SAY THAT DIVERSITY IS A STRENGTH IN DIVERSITY WITHOUT POWER THAT WE NEED WITHIN CROWLEY ISD, WE KNOW WE HAVE ALL SIX OF THE LANGUAGES SPOKEN IN OUR DISTRICT, AND SO I WAS ASKED THE QUESTION, WHY DO WE HAVE THESE [INAUDIBLE].
WHY DO WE CELEBRATE AND THE REALITY IS THAT WE RECOGNIZE THAT OUR COUNTRY IS A POWERFUL COUNTRY AND OUTSTANDING COUNTRY THAT WAS CREATED BY ETHNICITIES FROM ALL DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS.
THIS ONE, WE CELEBRATE OUR HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH AND WE CELEBRATE OUR HISPANIC HERITAGE.
BUT WE'RE EXCITED ABOUT OUR STUDENTS TODAY WE'LL LEARN ABOUT THE STRUGGLES AND TRIUMPHS, OUR HISPANIC HERITAGE.
WE KNOW THAT AS WE LEARN ABOUT OTHERS, WE BECOME STRONGER OURSELVES.
WE'RE PROUD OF THAT AND BE PROUD FRONT OF THE BOARD FOR ALLOWING US TO DO THIS, IT'S ONE OF THE ORIGINAL WE'RE LOOKING FORWARD TO CONTINUE CELEBRATIONS THROUGHT THE MONTH.
>> THANK YOU, DR. MCFARLAND [INAUDIBLE].

IT IS AN HONOR FOR ME JUST TO CONTINUE THAT TRADITION HERE IN CROWLEY ISD.
WE HAD DIVISIONS BOTH IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH.
WE HAVE AN ELEMENTARY SPANISH, ELEMENTARY ENGLISH, AND A SECONDARY ENGLISH, AND THEN WE HAVE TWO TEAMS THAT WILL ADVANCE TO THE FINALS.

I'M GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT PEOPLE DIDN'T THINK THAT WHEN OCTOBER 15TH COME AROUND THAT IT'S OVER THAT WE MAKE SURE THAT WE EMPHASIZE THAT WE DO HAVE SOME SET OF PROGRAMMING THAT WILL EXTEND THAT ON OCTOBER 4TH.
FOR SURE, WE WILL CONTINUE TO PROMOTE AND WORK IN COLLABORATION WITH OUR COMMUNICATION TEAM AND REALLY JUST UPDATE OUR CAMPUSES AND JUST GETTING MORE INFORMATION AND ACTIVITIES AND SO ON.
BUT I APPRECIATE THAT. THANK YOU.
>> THERE'S NOT SO MUCH A QUESTION ABOUT THIS, IT'S MORE OF A BUT THAT WE FORMED.
ONE OF OUR CROWLEY ISD GREEN TEAM MEMBER, HENRY CISNEROS WAS A POLITICIAN.
WHEN [INAUDIBLE] HE WAS THE FIRST SECRETARY UNDER PRESIDENT BILL CLINTON, FIRST HISPANIC MAYOR IN SAN ANTONIO SINCE THE 1800S.
I WAS THINKING IT'D BE AWESOME FOR CISD TO MAYBE GET HIM IN HERE SOMETIME DURING HIS STAY HERE [INAUDIBLE] THANK YOU.
>> JUST A COMMENT, I LIKE THE THEME YOU CHOSE.
I DON'T KNOW IF THAT WAS A [INAUDIBLE] OR HOW IT HAPPENED, BUT I LIKE THE THEME. THANK YOU.

I APPRECIATE IT AND WELCOME TO MENTORSHIP PROGRAM, I THINK THAT'S IMPORTANT AS WELL.
THEN THE REVERSE MENTORING BECAUSE IT'S SOME THINGS THAT THEY CAN SHOW US OR TEACH US BECAUSE SOMETIMES WE'RE UP HERE AND WE'RE GOING, GOING, BUT THEN THEY HAVE OBSERVATIONS THAT MAKE YOU STOP IN YOUR TRACKS, IDEAS AND THOUGHTS AND THEIR PERSPECTIVE.

I COME DOWN HERE ABOUT EVERY TWO YEARS, TALKING ABOUT THE APPRAISAL DISTRICT.
OUR CHIEF APPRAISER JUST RESIGNED, SO I THINK TONIGHT'S INFORMATION I'M GOING TO PROVIDE, I THINK, IS POINTED AND TIMELY.

THE [INAUDIBLE] ARE PROCESSES EVERY ODD YEAR.
SINCE WE'RE IN AN ODD YEAR, WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF REPLACING FIVE DIRECTORS.

I'M HERE TONIGHT TO TALK ABOUT TWO CANDIDATES SINCE WE'RE SUCH A CRITICAL JUNCTION, CHOOSING A NEW CHIEF APPRAISER AND GETTING THE DISTRICT RIGHT FOR THE TAXPAYER AND GETTING REPRESENTATION FOR THE ENTITIES.
MR. GARY LAZADA, WHO I HAVE BROUGHT TO YOU BEFORE IN THE PAST, HAS BEEN SPOKEN TO THE BODY.
WELL, I HAVE ALSO EXAMINED NAMED GERALD MILLER.
MR. MILLER IS SUPPOSED TO BE SENDING HIS 11-PAGE EXTENSIVE RESUME TO DR. MCFARLAND.
HE HAS FIVE GRAMMY AWARDS AND TWO LATIN GRAMMY AWARDS.
HE'S A PRODUCER OF CLASSICAL MUSIC AND JAZZ.
HE'S BEEN COMING TO THE TAD MEETINGS FOR A YEAR-AND-A-HALF.
I HAVE BECOME GOOD FRIENDS WITH HIM AND HE HAS THE VALUABLE EXPERIENCE.
HE HAS SOME KNOWLEDGE OF THE PROPERTY TAX CODE AND PASS THE TIME.
I'M HOPING THAT YOU'LL CONSIDER HIM ON THE BALLOT AND GIVING HIM SOME VOTES.
MR. LAZADA HAS A MASTERS IN ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT FROM STANFORD UNIVERSITY.
HE'S WORKED SCHOOL DISTRICT CITIES.
HE SPENT SIX YEARS ON THE ARP.
HE HAS HEARD OVER 8-10,000 PROTESTS FROM PEOPLE, JUST LIKE YOU AND YOUR CONSTITUENTS.
AND 80% OF THE TIME, I THINK HE SHOWED TOWARDS THE TAXPAYER BECAUSE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WASN'T WORKING AND HE KNEW IT.
AS YOU KNOW, THE CHIEF APPRAISER JUST RESIGNED AND NOW WORKING IN HOKE COUNTY BECAUSE THE WEBSITE WASN'T WORKING.
THERE'S A LOT OF ISSUES AT TAD, THIS PROCESS IS UPON US.

THE DISTRICT'S LONG-STANDING BATTLE OF THE BOOKS, SH.

YOU GOT ADULT TRANSITION PROGRAM TITLED COOKING WITH THE COOL KIDS, WHICH IS JUST A GREAT NAME.

ALL THAT WE DO BENEFITS THE STUDENTS AND THE STAFF AT CROWLEY ISD AND I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL FOR LETTING US DO THAT, AND ALSO TO REQUEST THAT THE BOARD ACCEPTS THIS YEAR'S GRANTS ON BEHALF OF THE DISTRICT.
>> WHAT'S GOOD AS FAR AS HER WHOLE TEAM BECAUSE I CAN SEE YOU HAVE [OVERLAPPING].
LET'S JUST GIVE, I JUST WANT TO APPLAUD YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS? [LAUGHTER]
>> MORE THAN, I THINK MAYBE 12 OR 13 YEARS SERVING ON THE FOUNDATION. I THINK THAT'S ALL RIGHT.
>> WORK IN FLOW JUST GIVE HER [INAUDIBLE].
>> IT'S NOT EASY RAISING MONEY.
[LAUGHTER] YOU DO IT WITH VANESSA AND WE APPRECIATE IT.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. BOARD ARE THERE ANY COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS?
>> I DO. I KNOW THAT SOMETHING IS COMING UP IN GOLF TOURNAMENT, COULD YOU?
>> WE ACTUALLY HAVE TWO OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP WITH THE TASK OF RAISING MONEY.
THE FIRST ONE IS OUR GOLF TOURNAMENT, WHICH OCCURS ON OCTOBER 11TH.
THIS IS OUR ANNUAL TOURNAMENT AND WE ARE HELPED MIGHTILY AGAIN BY VLK IN PUTTING THIS ON,
[00:40:03]
SO A SHOUT OUT AGAIN TO THEM FOR THEIR HEALTH.WE DO WELCOME ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO PLAY, SIMPLY RIDE AROUND IN A GOLF CART.
MANY OF YOU HAVE COME BEFORE AND IT'S A LOT OF FUN.
WE ALSO DO HOPEFULLY RAISE MONEY.
WE ARE LOOKING, AS ALWAYS, FOR TEAMS AND PLAYERS, SO SPREAD THE WORD.
OCTOBER 11TH. THERE'S INFORMATION AT OUR WEBSITE.
OUR SECOND OPPORTUNITY IS THE EMPLOYEE GIVING PROGRAM WILL GO OUT TO STAFF AND THOSE AT CROWLEY ISD ON MONDAY, SO THEY'LL BE EMAILS ABOUT THAT AND I'LL BE SURE TO INCLUDE THAT FOR ALL OF YOU ALL.
WE DO, OF COURSE, WELCOME ANY INPUT FROM COMMUNITY MEMBERS, WHETHER IT'S DONATIONS OR JUST THOUGHTS OR PROGRAMS AND SO IF YOU ALL HAVE THEIR INFORMATION, IF THERE'S SOMEONE YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO MEET, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GO LEARN, GO TO LUNCH, LET ME KNOW.
I'M ALWAYS HAPPY TO TALK ABOUT THE FOUNDATION. THANK YOU, GARY.
>> [INAUDIBLE] I JUST LIKE TO ADD ANOTHER THANK YOU TO MS. GARCIA, BECAUSE WE HAD AN IDEA ABOUT EDUCATION FOUNDATION, AND YOU TOOK IT AND RAN WITH IT AND DEVELOPED IT INTO THE PROGRAM IT IS TODAY. THANK YOU.
THANK YOU AT FIRST THOUGH, FOR CONTINUING TO PROVIDE A FOUNDATION FOR CONTAIN ANTIBIOTIC REPORT THAT SOME OF THE TRADITION THAT WE HAVE AND PROBABLY ISP AS WELL AS MAKING POSSIBLE THE INNOVATIVE INITIATIVES AND PROGRAMS THAT WE SEE.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALLOWING OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF THAT HAD A CREATIVE IN OUR DISTRICT.
>> I DO HAVE A QUESTION HOW COMPETITIVE WAS IT THIS YEAR? HOW MANY ENTRIES?
>> WE HAD MORE GRANT APPLICATIONS THAN WE HAVE EVER HAD.
WE HAD OVER 60 APPLICATIONS AND THEY'VE TOTALED I THINK CLOSE TO $175,000 IN REQUESTED DOLLARS.
I WOULD LOVE TO FUND EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE GRANTS BUT MONEY IS LIMITED.
BUT IT WAS VERY ENCOURAGING THAT WE HAVE LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH SOME GREAT CREATIVE, INNOVATIVE IDEAS.
WE DO HAVE A NEWLY RENEWED GRANT COMMITTEE THAT IS NOT ONLY GOING TO MEET WITH GRANT RECIPIENTS THIS YEAR, BUT WE'LL GET TO MEET WITH SOME OF THOSE WHO PUT IN APPLICATIONS AND PERHAPS WERE NOT SUCCESSFUL AND HELP THEM LEARN HOW THEY MIGHT BE MORE SUCCESSFUL.
GARY DOES NOT KNOW THIS, BUT HE MENTIONED LAUREN KELLEY WHO IS JUST CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE AND SHE'S ACTUALLY GOING TO JOIN OUR BOARD FOR THE PURPOSE OF BEING A TEACHER, PEER, MENTOR IN COMING UP WITH INNOVATIVE.
I'M HOPING THAT SOMETHING EXTRA WE CAN HELP ADD TO.
WE ALSO HAVE A NEW GRANT PROGRAM THAT I WANTED TO MENTION.
IT WILL HAVE MORE INFORMATION COMING OUT IN NOVEMBER, BUT APPLICATIONS WILL BE OPENED IN JANUARY.
IT WILL BE A SMALLER BRAND JUST FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER, OPEN TO ONLY NEW TEACHERS.
IT'S AN IDEA OF SOME TEACHERS IN THE DISTRICT AND WE'RE GOING TO SEE HOW THAT GOES.
HOPEFULLY IT WOULD HELP THOSE TEACHERS THEN LEARN HOW TO APPLY FOR THE BIGGER GRANTS.
>> THIS IS A POSSIBLE ACTION ITEM, SO IF THEY'RE ON BOTH THEN WE ACCEPT THE GRANT.
NO REVENUE EXPECTANT OF THE INNOVATIVE TEACHING GRANT DOWN THE HILL AND EDUCATION AND ASP VISIT.
>> THANK YOU, TRUSTEE DAVIS, IS THERE A SECOND? THANK YOU. DR. HALL.
MOVED TO VOTE, PLEASE? THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY. THANK YOU.
>> THANK YOU ALL. MRS. BROWN I'D DIRECTLY WANT TO THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING.

[00:45:01]
MR. CURSOR WILL PRESENT THIS PART OF DISCUSSION.>> THANK YOU, MADAM PRESIDENT MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND DR. MCFARLAND, AS YOU ALL KNOW, THE ANNUAL TEST CONFERENCE IS COMING UP NEXT WEEKEND.
IT'S A BIG OPPORTUNITY FOR LEARNING AND NETWORKING THIS YEAR OPPORTUNITY TO SHINE THE SPOTLIGHT ON OUR HONORED BOARD IN THE RUNNING FOR, I'LL SAY BOARD IN TEXAS.
WE'RE REALLY EXCITED TO CELEBRATE YOU ALL AND SHOW YOU ALL THROUGH THE ENTIRE STATE.
PART OF THAT CONVENTION THOUGH IS THE ANNUAL DELEGATE ASSEMBLY AND EACH YEAR TRUSTEES HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO APPOINT A DELEGATE AND AN ALTERNATE TO THE ABILITY TO SIMPLY SO THAT WOULD BE DECIDED THIS EVENING IF YOU RAISE AND MYSELF, AND MS. MULTIPLE WILL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE ABOUT THAT PROCESS.
ANY QUESTIONS? ANY RECOMMENDATIONS?
>> WHAT IS THE PROCESS AND WE NEED [OVERLAPPING].
>> THERE'S A RECOMMENDATION THERE TODAY, SORRY, TRUSTEE DAVIS.
>> OUR DELEGATE RECOMMENDATION, TRUSTEE DAVIS AND TRUSTEE GRASSIA IS OUR ALTERNATE.
ANY QUESTIONS ON THE SESSIONS? [LAUGHTER]
>> THANK YOU KUHRT, BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND THE APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEE DARYL DAVIS DESERVE APPARENTLY I [INAUDIBLE] DELEGATE AT THE 2023 [INAUDIBLE] AND TRUSTEE GARY GRASSIA TO SERVE AS THE ULTIMATE.
THANK YOU. DR. HALL. IS THEIR A SECOND?

THE MOTION PASSES UNANIMOUSLY. [OVERLAPPING].
>> THANK YOU AND CONGRATULATIONS.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND HOPEFULLY WE KNOW ABOUT YOUR SERVICE.
[LAUGHTER] MORE INFORMATION, BUT THANK YOU, THAT IS HONORABLE, SO WE APPRECIATE YOU.
I WILL TAKE A MOMENT AND A PAUSE TO ASK OUR JUNIOR BOARD, OUR STUDENT TRUSTEES, IF I SHOULD SAY, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OVER THE TEACHING GRANT DONATIONS OR IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OVER THE APPOINTED BOARD MEMBER OF STUDENT TO THINK ABOUT, REQUESTED FOR YOUR COMMENTS, YES MR PERCIVAL.
>> THIS IS NOT A QUESTION, THIS IS A COMMENT ABOUT THE RANSOM RECEIPT AND I'M EXCITED ABOUT THEM AS THEY GIVE THE PLATFORM TO FURTHER OUR EDUCATION SENTENCE THAN THIS DISTRICT OFFERS.
I FEEL LIKE MY PARENTS WHEN I SAY THIS BUT I'M GLAD THAT YOU EITHER BEING PROVIDED WITH THINGS THAT I DIDN'T HAVE WHEN I WAS GOING TO DO A TREE SYMBOL [LAUGHTER] WHAT'S THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS THINGS? THAT'S VERY COOL. THAT'S ALL I HAVE TO SAY. THANK YOU.
THE VERY WORD INNOVATIVE BEING SO MUCH SO I LIKE THAT AND I APPRECIATE THAT.
WE ARE BEGINNING OUR STUDY SESSION AT THIS TIME,
[10.0 Study Session]
SO WE'RE AT AGENDA ITEM 10.1, WHICH IS THE DEMOGRAPHERS, IT'S THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2023 UPDATE DR. MCFARLAND.>> MADAM PRESIDENT, BOARD MEMBERS, WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS AND STUDY SESSION STYLE, SO IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION, FEEL FREE TO STOP AND ASK QUESTION.
IF YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE TO DIAL THAT UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT'S GOING ON IN OUR COMMUNITY, PROBABLY THE PART OF THE STAYING COOL.
BUT WE ALSO KNOW WHAT WE WILL SEE THAT AS THIS GROWTH CONTINUES TO COME THIS WAY, WE HAVE SOME SHORT-TERM DECISIONS THAT WE HAVE TO MAKE AS IT RELATES TO REDISTRICTING AND REDRAW THE BOUNDARIES OR TREAD UP FOR POTENTIAL CAPACITY ISSUES THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR.
THIS IS THE FIRST STEP IS FIRST TO HAVE A CONVERSATION, AND TONIGHT WE HAVE OUR DEVELOPER MR. ALEXANDER HERE TO SHARE THAT INFORMATION. SOUNDS GOOD.
>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH, DR. MCFARLAND, PRESIDENT MAKE UP FOR TRUSTEES.
THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME HERE TONIGHT.
DR. MCFARLAND WANTED ME TO UPDATE YOU ON THE DISTRICT'S RESIDENTIAL GROWTH AND ENROLLMENT GROWTH THAT'S OCCURRED.
IT'S ABOUT NINE MONTHS SINCE I WAS HERE.
I THOUGHT WE WOULD BEGIN BY JUST TAKING A LITTLE LOOK BACK INTO THE SPRING BECAUSE THE OFFICIAL ENROLLMENT DATA FOR ALL OF THE DISTRICTS IN THE DFW AREA WAS RELEASED.
[00:50:01]
THE MAP THAT YOU SEE HERE SHOWS THE ROUGHLY 90 SCHOOL DISTRICTS THAT MAKE UP THE DFW AREA.THE OFFICIAL ENROLLMENT FOR THE 22-23 SCHOOL YEAR FOR CROWLEY ISD WAS 17,729.
THAT WAS THE 25TH LARGEST AMONG ALL OF THE DFW SCHOOL DISTRICTS.
NOW, I THINK THIS MAP IS REALLY TELLING, IF YOU LOOK AT THE DISTRICTS THAT ARE SHADED IN BLUE, THOSE DISTRICTS HAVE SEEN ENROLLMENT DECLINES.
THE DISTRICTS THAT ARE IN GRAY ARE THOSE PRIMARILY BEEN FLAT.
THE ONES IN YELLOW AND THE SHADED IN RED IS WHERE THE ENROLLMENT GROWTH.
SO THIS IS ON PERCENTAGE GROWTH FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS.
SO YOU CAN SEE HOW THE OUTER RING OF DFW HAS EXPERIENCED THE MAJORITY OF THE GROWTH OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS.
BUT IF YOU LOOK WITHIN TARRANT COUNTY, YOU CAN SEE CROWLEY AT 9% RATE THERE. THAT'S ONE OF THE HIGHEST.
MANY OF THE DISTRICTS IN TARRANT COUNTY HAS SEEN FLAT TO DECLINING ENROLLMENT SINCE THE 17-18 SCHOOL YEAR.
WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ENROLLMENT, FOR THE SNAPSHOT DATE, YOU CAN SEE THE 16729.
THAT WAS A RECORD LAST YEAR AND I'M HAPPY TO REPORT THAT THE DISTRICTS AND TOTAL ENROLLMENT HAS SURPASSED THE 17,000 MARK IN SEPTEMBER AND IS CURRENTLY AT 17,036 STUDENTS.
GENERALLY WE'RE STILL ON THAT, THAT AVERAGE FOR THE LAST FIVE YEARS IS RIGHT ABOUT 1.9%.
THAT'S WHAT THE DISTRICT CONTINUES TO BE ON HERE, AS WE'RE STILL JUST UNDER TWO MONTHS FROM THE SNAPSHOT DATE.
BUT THE MAIN DRIVER FOR ALL OF THIS GROWTH IN THE DFW AREA, HAS BEEN THE HOUSING MARKET.
THE HOUSING MARKET HAS SEEN SOME UPS AND DOWNS SINCE LAST FALL.
REMEMBER THAT THE INTEREST RATE ON A 30-YEAR MORTGAGE WENT UP ABOUT 4% IN THE FALL, SO IT SAW A LOT OF THE BUILDERS PULL BACK ON ACTIVITY IN THE FALL.
WHAT'S INTERESTING IN BEGINNING IN THE EARLY PART OF THE YEAR, A TRAFFIC AND SALES BEGAN TO PICK UP AGAIN.
BUILDERS STARTED TO OFFER MORE INCENTIVES.
THEY ALSO STARTED TO DO RATE BY DOWN PACKAGES.
WHEN YOU SEE THAT THE RATE IS 7%, YOU CAN SEE THAT MASSIVE CLIMB THERE ON THE RIGHT AND THEN GOING FROM THE HISTORICALLY LOW ALL THE WAY UP TO IN THE 7.1-7.2 RANGE HERE THESE LAST FEW WEEKS.
JUST KNOW THAT ON THE NEW HOME SIDE, THE BUILDERS HAVE BEEN ABLE TO USE SOME OF THEIR MONEY AS INCENTIVES TO BUY PEOPLE DOWN INTO THE UPPER FLOORS AROUND 5%.
IT'S CONTINUED TO HELP BUYERS CLOSE ON NEW HOMES.
THIS CHART HERE SHOWS ALL OF DFW ACTIVITY.
THAT BLUE, YOU CAN SEE THAT BIG PEAK THAT WE SAW BACK IN 21.
WE HAVE SEEN THE MARKET COME DOWN ABOUT 28% BUT IT'S NOT THE 40, 45% DECLINE THAT WE WERE EXPECTING BACK IN THE FALL.
I THINK WHEN I SPOKE TO YOU LAST TIME WE WERE ENCOURAGED WHAT WE WERE SEEING IN FEBRUARY AND LOTS OF REPORTS FROM BUILDERS WHICH THINGS HAVE ACTUALLY GOTTEN BETTER.
MANY BUILDERS ARE AHEAD OF SCHEDULE FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF INTRODUCING MORE THAN THEY WERE EXPECTING TO DO FOR ALL OF 23.
ANOTHER THING THAT CONTINUES TO HELP THE NEW HOME MARKET IS THE FACT THAT THE EXISTING HOME INVENTORY REMAINS HISTORICALLY LOW.
THAT'S WHAT YOU SEE ON THE RED LINE THERE.
BUT ALSO REMEMBER THAT AN EXISTING HOME, MOST OF THOSE BUYERS ARE HAVING TO PAY THE FULL MORTGAGE RATES.
AGAIN, IT'S PUSHING PEOPLE TO THE NEW HOME MARKET, WHICH CROWLEY ISD, HAS A LOT OF LAND AND A LOT OF BUILDERS AVAILABLE WHERE OTHER DISTRICTS IN TARRANT COUNTY, THEIR NEW HOME MARKETS HAD SHRUNK.
OUTSIDE OF EAGLE MOUNTAIN, SAGINAW, OR EVEN THE PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST THIS IS STILL WITHIN THE COUNTY.
YOU CAN SEE THE RESALES HERE FOR THE DISTRICT, SO THE SLIDE THERE, THE CHART THERE ON THE LEFT ON THIS SLIDE YOU CAN SEE THE NUMBERS HAVE COME DOWN A LITTLE BIT IN RESALES, BUT NOT NOT TOO BAD FOR THE NUMBER OF EXISTING HOMES THAT CONTINUES TO SELL.
THE GOOD THING IS OVER ON THE RIGHT, WE'VE SEEN PRICES BEGAN TO STABILIZE WHERE THE MEDIAN TODAY HAS COME BACK DOWN A LITTLE BIT, BUT IT STILL SITS JUST BELOW THE RECORD HIGH THAT WE SET IN 2022, IT'S RIGHT THERE, 317,000.
[00:55:02]
THE MAIN DRIVER FOR THE HOUSING MARKET THROUGHOUT DFW AND TEXAS HAS BEEN JOB GROWTH.WE JUST CONTINUE TO SEE PHENOMENAL NUMBERS.
THESE ARE THE NUMBERS THROUGH THE END OF JUNE AT THE TEXAS WORKFORCE COMMISSION HAS THE LEAST.
YOU CAN SEE TEXAS FOR GROWING ABOUT FOUR PERCENT AS A WHOLE, LED BY DFW.
WE'VE ADDED OVER 200,000 NET NEW JOBS FOR THE 12 MONTHS ENDING IN JUNE, SO WE NOW HAVE OVER 4.27 MILLION PEOPLE EMPLOYED.
YOU CAN SEE THAT CHART THERE ON THE LEFT TALLIES JUST WE MADE IT THROUGH THE COVID PANDEMIC, REHIRED AND THEN WE CONTINUE TO GROW.
THE RATE HAS NORMALIZED, IT'S COME BACK DOWN, BUT STILL 200,000 IS PROBABLY 100,000 A YEAR MORE THAN WHAT DFW WOULD USE THE SAME FROM 2010-2020.
AGAIN, A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE MOVING HERE, THIS REPRESENTS A LOT OF THE PEOPLE COMING IN FOR WORK.
BUT THESE ARE THE NUMBERS THAT ARE SO EXCITING.
WHEN YOU DRIVE AROUND THE DISTRICT, HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE ALL OF THE THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS THAT ARE GOING.
YOU CAN STRIVE AND SEE ALL OF THE PLUMBING THAT'S GOING IN FOR THE NEW APARTMENT.
AS YOU CAN SEE, ALL OF THE STICKS AND BRICKS GOING UP FOR MANY OF THE SUBDIVISIONS.
WE COUNTED A RECORD, 765 NEW HOME STARTS IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 23.
THAT WAS THE OLD RECORD SET BACK IN 2002.
AFTER ALL THIS TIME, THAT SAID 65 FINALLY BREAKS THE RECORD.
ANOTHER 444 PEOPLE HAVE MOVED INTO OCCUPIED HOMES, SO THAT'S RIGHT THERE NEAR THE ALL-TIME RECORD THAT WAS SET LAST FALL.
WHEN YOU ANNUALIZE THE NUMBERS, YOU CAN SEE THAT STEADY GROWTH UPWARD ON THE CHART.
YOU CAN SEE THAT THE BLUE BY THE BLUE LINE STARTS HAVE CLIMBED TO OVER 1,800.
ALSO BREAKING THE 20-YEAR RECORD SET BACK AT THE END OF 2002.
CLOSINGS THAT NOW SURPASSED 1,500 AND ARE ALSO AT THE HIGHEST RATE THAT WE'VE SEEN IN 15 YEARS.
THE DEVELOPERS CONTINUE, YOU CAN SEE THAT THEY PUT 1,600 NEW LOST ON THE GROUND FOR THE 12 MONTHS ENDING IN JUNE.
PROBABLY CONTINUES TO MOVE UP THE LIST WHEN YOU COMPARE IT TO WHAT'S TAKING PLACE IN OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS AROUND THE DFW AREA.
YOU CAN SEE THAT ENORMOUS ACTIVITY THERE AT THE TOP OF THE LIST THAT'S HAPPENING IN NORTHWEST ISD, THEN IN PROSPER.
BUT LOOK AT CROWLEY MOVING UP THE LIST.
RIGHT THERE WITH EAGLE MOUNTAIN SAGINAW, THERE USED TO BE A BIG GAP BETWEEN EAGLE MOUNTAIN AND SAGINAW'S ACTIVITY AND CROWLEY'S ACTIVITY IN DISTRICTS MOVED INTO THE TOP TEN IN TERMS OF TOTAL NEW HOME ACTIVITY.
NOW, 90% OF IT CONTINUES TO BE IN THE CITY OF FORT WORTH.
BUT WE ARE SEEING THE STATS THERE IN THE CITY OF CROWLEY, START TO INCH UP OVER THE LAST YEAR AS WELL.
THE TOP SUBDIVISIONS ARE LISTED HERE.
YOU CONTINUE TO SEE 190 A YEAR AMOUNT OF SCREENINGS.
MACPHERSON VILLAGE AND A RIGHT THERE BY SOME RECRUIT MIDDLE-SCHOOL, VERY STRONG, AND THEN WE CONTINUE TO SEE THE TOP AREAS IN THE WEST SIDE AND THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE DISTRICT.
NOW ANOTHER THING TO POINT OUT IS WE'RE SEEING SOME MORE OF THE LARGER BILL TO RENT SUBDIVISIONS.
LARGE NUMBERS OF STARTS IN THE MIX AS WELL.
REMEMBER THAT WE'RE TREATING THOSE AS MORRISON ONE STORY APARTMENT, BUT THEY ARE COUNTED IN OUR SINGLE-FAMILY NUMBERS AS WELL.
>> LET'S FALL INTO THE FLORIDA FUTURE LIVES.
NUMBER 900703 THAT NEED TO [INAUDIBLE].
>> IF HUNTERS RIDGE THAT RIGHT NOW, THEY WOULD HAVE A WAY TO READ THAT TABLE IS 69 HOMES ARE UNDER CONSTRUCTION BUT NOT OCCUPIED.
THERE ARE 97 FULLY DEVELOPED LOTS THAT WHERE YOU CAN BASICALLY DRIVE IN FRONT OF THAT LOT, BUT THERE'S NOT A HOUSE STARTED.
THERE ARE 753 THAT ARE IN THE FUTURE CATEGORIES.
THERE ARE SOME THAT ARE UNDER DEVELOPMENT AS WELL AS STILL PLANTED IN OUR AS A PAPERWORK.
I HAD A PICTURE OF ALL OF THE LOTS THAT ARE UNDER DEVELOPMENT AND HUNDREDS RICH.
THAT'S THE INTEREST THAT 753 A LOT OF THEM ARE NOW MOVING OUT THERE.
[01:00:05]
>> CARES IS JUST GETTING UNDERWAY, SO WE SHOULD SEE IT START TO MOVE UP THE LIST.
YOU DID HAVE ITS FIRST STARTS IN THE SECOND QUARTER, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO MAKE THE LIST YET, SO THE LIST IS BASED ON CLOSINGS, BUT IT WILL COME UP.
I THINK IT WAS ACTUALLY LESS THAN THE 39 THAT I HAVE LISTED THERE, BUT YES, IT IS ACTIVE NOW AND WILL BE COMING UP THE LIST.
>> [LAUGHTER] BASED ON WHAT TRUSTEE GRASSIA IS ASKING HOW MANY MORE ARE NOT ON THE LIST?
>> WELL, THERE ARE SEVERAL THAT DON'T HAVE ANY STARTS IN THERE YET THAT ARE NEW AND I'M GOING TO COVER THOSE HERE COMING UP.
MOST OF THE ONES THAT ARE NEW AND ACTIVE LISTED THERE ON THE UP AND COMING.
THERE ARE OTHERS LIKE HARRIS IT'S 24 IS THEIR LAUNCH.
THEY SHOULDN'T BE SEEING MORE IN THE FALL AS WE MOVE.
THE BIG SELLING SEASON REALLY BEGINS IN FEBRUARY FOR A LOT OF THE TARGET THAT TO HAVE THE BIG PUSH AN OPENING, SO WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE ACTIVITY BY ATTENDANT ZONE, MOST OF THE GROWTH IS IN THE DATA'S ATTENDANCE ZONE.
YOU CAN SEE ALMOST 1,000 NEW HOMES STARTED IN THE ZONE, 629 MOVE INTO.
SOME OF THE BOUNDARY CHANGES, DO HELP.
YOU SEE DOWN IN DALLAS PARK, SOME OF THAT DAVIS NUMBER WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN LARGER IF IT WASN'T MOVED INTO THE DEPTH CLARKSON, AS WELL AS SUE CROUCH NUMBERS, YOU SEE THOSE CLOSINGS THERE, BUT SH CROWLEY, DAVID WALKER, OUR GRADE.
ALL OF THOSE. REALLY, WHEN YOU GO THROUGH AND YOU'LL SEE THE MAP, YOU CAN SEE IT'S A LARGE SWAPPED GEOGRAPHICALLY THAT THE SUBDIVISIONS ARE IMPACTING THE DISTRICT.
MAJORITY IS ON THE SOUTHWEST IN SOUTHERN AND WESTERN SIZE, AS YOU CAN SEE BY ALL THE ACTIVITY IN THE SUMMER CREEK ATTENDANCE ZONE, BUT WHEN YOU COMBINE THE NUMBERS, IF THERE IN ALICE'S ATTENDANCE ZONE AS WELL, YOU CAN SEE THAT OVER ALMOST 1,200 CLOSINGS FROM THE SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST SIDE DISTRICT.
YOU CAN SEE IT REFLECTED A LITTLE BETTER THERE.
IN THE NORTH CROWLEY NUMBERS WITH NEARLY 1,400 SHARKS AND 1,100 OR JUST UNDER 1,100 MOVE-INS OVER THE LAST YEAR.
PRICE-WISE, THAT WE CONTINUE TO SEE THE MAJORITY OF THE HOMES THAT FALL INTO THE VALUE.
FIRST MOVE UP VALUE TYPE OF PRODUCT IN THAT THREE TO 400,000 RANGE SO THAT AFFORDABILITY IS ANOTHER THING THAT THE DISTRICT HAS OVER OTHER AREAS.
MANY OF THE AREAS OF DFW HAVE MOVED WELL UP INTO THE A HALF MILLION AND UP PRICE RANDE.
YOU ALL STILL HAVE A LARGE QUANTITY OF MORE AFFORDABLE NEIGHBORHOODS FOR PEOPLE IN DFW.
A LOT OF AREAS, AGAIN, AS THEY SEE MORE GROWTH, THEIR PRICES CONTINUING TO RISE AS LAND HAS GOTTEN MORE EXPENSIVE, BUT YOU SEE ON THE MEDIUM PRICE, HERE IN THE DISTRICT, ABOUT 352 IS THE MEDIAN PRICE FOR A NEW HOME IN THE DISTRICT AND THAT'S DOWN A LITTLE BIT FROM THE HIGH THAT WE SAW BACK IN 2022.
SO WHAT'S COMING? THERE ARE OVER 2,200 LOTS THAT ARE FULLY DEVELOP AND NOTHING STARTED YET.
IN ADDITION TO THAT, YOU'VE GOT 1,500 THAT ARE IN PROCESS AND THEN THERE ARE 3,147 TOTAL LOTS UNDER DEVELOPMENT, SO JUST THAT THE SHEER SIZE OF THAT ALONE IS A LOT FOR YOU ALL TO DEAL WITH THE NEAR THE GROWTH OF THE NEXT 3-5 YEARS.
BEYOND THAT, THERE'S STILL ANOTHER 15,000 LOTS THAT ARE PLANNED.
REMEMBER, WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE COLORS HERE, ANYTHING THAT'S IN YELLOW IS ALREADY BUILDING.
ANYTHING IN ORANGE THAT'S DIRT WORK AND THEN EVERYTHING IN BLUE IS THE FUTURE, SO WE LOOKED AT THIS LAST YEAR AND A LOT OF THAT STUFF IN ORANGE WAS BLUE
[01:05:03]
AND SO YOU CAN SEE A PAINTING COLOR IN THAT BAND THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE DISTRICT.THE DEVELOPERS ARE CONTINUING TO ADD MORE LOTS AND I'VE GOT SOME PHOTOS COMING UP THAT WILL REALLY PROVIDE A BETTER DETAIL ON THAT, BUT ONE THING TO REMEMBER IS IN ADDITION TO ALL THE SINGLE FAMILY DEVELOPMENT, THERE ARE OVER 3,200 APARTMENTS THAT ARE PLANNED IN UNDERWAY AS WELL.
EVERYTHING IN BLUE IS PRETTY MUCH NEW SINCE I SPOKE TO YOU BACK IN FEBRUARY, SO YOU LOOK AT ALL OF THE NEW APARTMENT COMPLEXES THAT ARE COMING IN ON TOP OF ALL OF THE SINGLE-FAMILY AND A LOT OF THE NEW APARTMENTS THERE ARE ON THE WEST SIDE, WHICH ISN'T TRUE FOR WAR IN THE DAVIS CROUCHED AND GOT ONE UP AND OAT MONSOON IN ANOTHER ONE BEING PLANNED OR TWO MORE AND BEING PLANNED IN THE [INAUDIBLE] SO THAT'S SOMEWHAT GOOD NEWS RIGHT THERE.
THAT IS NOT IN THE DAVIS ZONE, BUT THE APARTMENT MARKET IS THRIVING HERE IN THE DISTRICT.
THE DEVELOPERS CONTINUE TO PLAN MORE PROJECTS AS WE MOVE FORWARD.
THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE FROM THE END OF JUNE, SO THIS UP HERE AT THE CHISHOLM TRAIL PARKWAY AND JUST WEST OF CROUCH ELEMENTARY AND SOUTHWEST TECH MORE SPOOL.
THIS IS ONE OF THE APARTMENT DEVELOPMENTS.
IT'S ALREADY UNDER DEVELOPMENT, SO I'M GOING TO GO THROUGH THESE PICTURES QUICKLY.
STOP ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, BUT WE'LL GO DOWN THE WEST SIDE OF THE CHISHOLM TRAIL PARKWAY.
BUT HERE'S ONE OF THE TOP PERFORMING SUBDIVISIONS FOR THE LAST DECADE, WITH DELANO SPRINGS MOVING INTO THEIR FINAL LOTS THERE ON THE FAR SOUTHWEST SIDE OF THE SUBDIVISION, BUT NOW THEY'RE STARTING TO WIND DOWN, YOU'VE GOT MORE APARTMENTS.
THIS IS ONE OF THE NEWER ONES THERE ON THE EAST SIDE OF BREWER NEAR DAVIS.
THEN LOOK AT ALL OF THE ACTIVITY SOUTH OF MCPHERSON ON THE EAST SIDE OF CRANBERRY ALONG CRANBERRY ROAD, YOU'VE GOT ROCKY CREEK CROSSING HERE, MORE THAN 500 LOSS OF PLANT HERE.
THEN WHEN YOU'RE LOOKING BACK TO THE NORTH IN THIS PHOTOGRAPH, YOU SEE MCPHERSON AND DAVIS OR MIDDLE CENTER OF THE PHOTOGRAPH, ALL OF THE LOTS THAT ARE PLANNED, IT CHISHOLM TRAIL RANCH.
THEN OVER ON THE EAST SIDE OF BREWER, YOU CAN SEE THE BILL TO RAMP PRODUCTS IN APARTMENTS.
YOU CAN SEE THE SLABS OVER THERE, POURED CITIZEN TRAIL IN THAT UPPER RIGHT OF THAT PHOTOGRAPH AND I BELIEVE OVER HERE ON THE LEFT, MIDDLE AND NEAR BREWER ROAD OR MORE APARTMENTS THAT ARE PLANNED THERE AS WELL.
DOWN ON THE BOTTOM LEFT, YOUR CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO WHAT SOME OF THE BUILT-IN RENT PRODUCT IS LOOKING LIKE, SO REMEMBER, THESE ARE TARGETING APARTMENT RENTERS, BUT AS YOU CAN SEE THAT THIS PARTICULAR ONE, THEY'VE GOT SOME ONE STORY PRODUCT AND TO SORT PRODUCT MIX TOGETHER, SO INTERESTING TO SEE.
AGAIN, I WANT TO EMPHASIZE LOT OF THIS TYPE OF HOME.
IF DFW IS A NEW STYLE, THAT FOR RENTERS.
MCPHERSON, REMEMBER, IT WAS ONE OF THE TOP PERFORMERS THERE.
THERE'S THE FINAL SECTION OF LOSS.
THEN AS YOU MOVE ACROSS MCPHERSON, YOU'RE LOOKING SOUTH HERE IN THE PHOTOGRAPH ON THE WEST SIDE OF [INAUDIBLE] FUEL AND DR HORTON STILL WORKING TO FINISH UP THE LAST PHASE OF SUMMER CREEK RANCH, SO THEN ACROSS A WEST CREEK FLAVOR AND ROAD, YOU CAN SEE THE ONE OF THE BIG TERRITORIES, IS ONE OF THE LARGE DEVELOPMENTS THAT IT'S COMING IN.
THESE ARE IN THE SH, CROWLEY, [FOREIGN] CROWLEY MIDDLE-SCHOOL SHOWN HERE ON THE LEFT, SO IF YOU'VE COME ACROSS, MOVING EAST ACROSS RISING OR YOU CAN SEE ARE UP AND RUNNING ON THEIR ENTRY-LEVEL RISING OR COURT SUBDIVISION AND THEN WE'VE SEEN BOTH AT RAINBOW AND AT PARK VIEW.
THEY'RE IN THE HEART RATE, SO THE FINAL PHASES FINALLY GET DIRT MOVING, SO HERE'S RAINBOW BRIDGE AND THEN YOU CAN SEE AT THE AIRPORT AND STARTED ALL OF THE WATTS ON THE ONE OF THE REMAINING SECTIONS OF [INAUDIBLE] ALL OF THESE FETAL HEART RATE.
REMEMBER THAT THE SYCAMORE LANDING SUBDIVISION
[01:10:05]
IS IN METAL CREEK ATTENDED ZONE IN UP THERE.IT'S ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE TRAIN TRACKS AND THEY HAVE THE LITTLE AIRPORT THERE.
I BELIEVE THAT'S NEAR MADAGASCAR, I THINK TO THE RIGHT THAT WOULD TRAIL YOU GOT TO COME DOWN THAT TO GET INTO THERE, BUT THESE LOTS ALL FEED INTO METAL GRADE ELEMENTARY. AS YOU LOOK OVER, SO THE STADIUM IS JUST TO THE RIGHT OF THE PHOTOGRAPH, OUT OF THE PICTURE AND WE SEE DAVID WALKER.
WE'RE STARTING TO SEE MORE OF THE BUILD TO RENT AND THE SINGLE-FAMILY ON THE NORTHERN SIDE OF THE DEER CREEK MEADOWS AND HUNTERS RIDGE LAND.
YOU CAN SEE UP IN THE UPPER RIGHT, ALL THAT VACANT LAND STILL TO GO.
REMEMBER THAT WAS PART OF THE REASON WHY DAVID WALKER WAS THE ENROLLMENT WITH SMALL INITIALLY, AGAIN, TO HAVE ROOM TO ABSORB ALL OF WHAT'S COMING BECAUSE HERE'S A HUNTERS RIDGE AND MS. ROBINSON, HERE'S THE OTHER PART OF THE HUNTER'S RIDGE.
IT'S STARTING TO MOVE DIRT ON IT, THAT 700 PLASTICS LAND.
ALL THAT IT'S RIGHT THERE JUST TO THE NORTHEAST OF HF STEVENS AND ON THE EAST SIDE OF NORTH CROWLEY ROAD.
HERE'S SOME PHOTOGRAPHS OF KARIS INCLUDING THE KARIS AND ENTRY.
I'M SURE IT'S MUCH FURTHER ALONG BECAUSE THIS IN JUNE THIS YEAR, BUT HERE'S A SHOT FROM THE SOUTHERN SIDE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD.
YOU CAN SEE THE FIRST STARTS THEY'RE IN THAT SUBDIVISION.
YOU SEE NORTH CROWLEY ROAD OVER ON THE FAR RIGHT.
SO MUCH HAPPENING IN THE SH CROWLEY AREA.
YOU CAN SEE NEW VIEWPOINT OR NEWBURY POINT SUMMER CREST SUBDIVISION HERE.
SH VALLEY ELEMENTARY IS RIGHT THERE IN THE MIDDLE LEFT OF THE PHOTO, ROSEMARY RIDGE SECTIONS, YOU CAN SEE THAT TERRITORIES IN THE UPPER LEFT, THE SOUTH OF THE SCHOOL MIRROR BIRD BEGINNING ITS FIRST PHASE.
PRETTY MUCH ALL OF THE LAND THAT YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOGRAPH WHICH HAS TREE AND IS VACANT.
THERE'S GOING TO BE HOUSES ON THAT EVENTUALLY AS THEY DEVELOP THROUGH.
SUNNY CREEK ACROSS FROM SH CROWLEY IS ANOTHER ONE THAT'S MOVING DIRT.
THEN AS YOU MOVE DOWN, YOU CAN SEE WHERE WE ARE IN THE CTE CENTER THERE AND THE UPPER.
JUST NORTHWEST OF HERE, YOU CAN SEE DEER CREEK AT UN TRAILS, TWO SUBDIVISIONS WITH QUITE A FEW LOCKS TO GO.
THEN AS YOU MOVE DOWN TO THE SOUTH, DOWN INTO THE 1187 AND HERE'S MY CART, YOU SEE THE FUTURE SCHOOL SITE, THE DISTRICT CONES THERE IN THE BRIDGES.
JUST OUT OF THE PHOTOGRAPH TO THE LEFT WOULD BE ALLIE MIDDLE SCHOOL.
THEN AS YOU MOVE OVER, YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE LARGER LOTS OF STUFF FROM MAYFAIR SOUTH CITY OF CROWLEY.
BUT REMEMBER THAT CREEK SIDE, THIS FEEDS INTO BEST RACE ATTENDANCE ZONE THAT THE FINAL FIFTH PHASE IS DELIVERED AND SO THEY SHOULD BE STARTING HOMES IN THIS SUBDIVISION AS WELL.
WITH ALL OF THAT UNDERWAY, RIGHT NOW CLOSINGS LOOK LIKE OVER THE NEXT 2-3 YEARS, WE'RE GOING TO SEE ABOUT 15-1600 A YEAR.
AS STARTS GROW CLOSINGS ARE EXPECTED TO FIND THE 1,800-2,000 OR SO A YEAR.
THERE ARE LOTS OF SUBDIVISIONS THAT ARE PLANNED DOWN NEAR CHARLTON.
WE'RE ASSUMING THAT YOU SEE THESE NUMBERS GROW, THAT THOSE ADDITIONAL SUBDIVISIONS LIKE A ROCK CREEK WILL COME INTO PLAY AND IT CONTINUE TO BOOST THE NUMBERS IN THE FUTURE.
THIS FORECAST HERE, I'VE LOOKED AT EVERY INDIVIDUAL NEIGHBORHOOD AND YOU ALL ARE LOOKING AT ABOUT MORE THAN 18,000 HOUSES OVER THE NEXT DECADE.
REMEMBER THE YIELDS HAVE BEEN ABOUT 0.4.
RIGHT NOW WITH WHAT WE'RE SEEING ON THE NUMBERS FROM ENROLLMENT, IT SEEMS LIKE THEY REMAIN UNCHANGED.
THAT'S THE NEXT STEP ONCE WE GET TO SNAPSHOT, TO START TO LOOK AT WHAT ARE THE YIELDS, HAVE THEY GONE? HAVE THEY STAYED THE SAME? HAVE THEY MOVED TOWARDS THE 0.5? WHICH THE HIGHEST SCENARIO WHICH YOU ALL WILL HAVE TO SEE
[01:15:05]
RATE OF STUDENTS ENROLLING INCREASED IT TO JUMP TO MORE OF A 4% RATE.RIGHT NOW, YOU'RE UP ABOUT 307 YEAR OVER YEAR.
THAT'S RIGHT ABOUT 1.8 AND 1.9, SO RIGHT ON TRACK WITH WHERE IT'S BEEN THESE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS.
I MOVED AHEAD AT THE LOW SCENARIO IN CLOSING IN ON THAT MODERATE NUMBER THAT WE WERE THINKING THIS TIME A YEAR AGO AND INTO THE EARLY PART OF THIS YEAR.
WITH ALL OF THIS GROWTH IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO PUT STRESS ON CAPACITY.
I DON'T HAVE ALL THE SPECIFICS IN HERE.
THAT'S OUR NEXT STEP TO REVIEW AND TIGHTEN THOSE NUMBERS UP AGAIN.
BUT JUST FROM WHAT YOU SEE, OBVIOUSLY DAVIS OBVIOUSLY SH CROWLEY, BESS RACE, EVEN DEER CREEK IS OVER AND THEN EVENTUALLY [INAUDIBLE] AND DAVID WALKER, GET FULL SO WITH THE ADDITIONAL THE ADDITION OF KARIS PROVIDING ADDITIONAL CAPACITY AND THEN YOU ALL ARE DR. MCFARLAND, MR. FISHER, MR. REAVES, YOU ALL ARE WORKING ON ACQUIRING LAND FOR THOSE ADDITIONAL ELEMENTARIES.
YOU CAN TELL YOU'RE GOING TO NEED THEM HERE OVER THE NEXT 3-5 YEARS BECAUSE IT'S DEFINITELY COMING.
YOU ALL HAVE ARRIVED [LAUGHTER].
MIDDLE SCHOOL WISE, I KNOW YOU ALL ARE JUST TALKING ABOUT THAT AS WELL.
SUMMER CREEK IS GOING TO TAKE A LOT OF THE GROWTH IS GOING TO GET REALLY BIG COMPARED TO THE OTHER SO YOU ALL I KNOW ARE DISCUSSING HOW TO ADDRESS THAT.
THEN WITH THE REBUILD OF CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, THEN YOU ALL NEED TO ADDRESS NORTH CROWLEY AND SEE WHICH ONE.
I THINK YOU HAVE SOME TIME ON THAT.
YOU WANT TO PUT THAT IN THE BACK, YOUR ELEMENTARY IN THE FRONT NEXT MIDDLE OF THAT.
BUT IT'S ALL COMING AS WELL WITH THIS TYPE OF GROWTH AHEAD.
I KNOW I WENT THROUGH THAT PRETTY QUICKLY, SO I'LL ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE AT THIS TIME.
>> I HAVE A QUESTION, IT DOES NOT RELATE TO HOUSING, BUT WITH RAPID GROWTH COMES INCREASED TRAFFIC.
YOU HAVE COMMUNICATION WITH PEOPLE WHERE THEY ARE CURRENTLY [INAUDIBLE] ALWAYS BEEN WHERE MANY OF THESE WILL BE DEVELOPED.
THERE'S TWO LANE ROAD OBVIOUSLY THEY EXPERIENCE IN A WAY, INCREASED TRAFFIC LIGHTS BECAUSE WE MAY NOT HAVE HERE TRAFFIC LIGHTS SO [INAUDIBLE].
TRYING TO GET YOU IN AND OUT OF NEIGHBORHOODS INCREASE TRAFFIC [INAUDIBLE] IF THERE ARE ACCIDENTS SO, I WAS JUST WONDERING ABOUT CROWLEY ROAD IMPROVEMENT YET.
>> I DO NOT WORK WITH THE CITY ON ANY OF THOSE THINGS BUT I PROBABLY DID IT GET HERE AND I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
BUT, YES, THE CITIES WILL HAVE TO ADDRESS THIS, THEY WILL EVENTUALLY.
BUT IT'S DIFFICULT TO SAY WHAT THE TIMELINES WILL BE FOR EACH ONE OF THE ROADS.
AS YOU CAN IMAGINE, THAT ALL OF THE GROWTH IS OCCURRING IN TARRANT COUNTY.
THERE'S A PRIORITY LIST THAT EVERYONE'S PIXAR AREA FIRST SO A LOT OF WORK, BUT MY EXPERIENCES, WE WILL VISUALLY SEE EACH ONE OF THESE AREAS IMPROVED.
>> TRUST THE ROUTES. THIS IS A GREAT QUESTION.
ACTUALLY SOLD AS THE BOND PADS WOULD BEGIN TO MEET WITH THE CITY AND THE BED WOULD BE A CITY MANAGER IN FORT WORTH, AS WELL AS SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT ARE BUILDING QUARRELING AND ACTUALLY A SCHOOL DESIGN DEPARTMENTS WILL.
WE MET WITH THOSE FOLKS THAT ARE OFFICIALLY WE MET WITH THEM AND ALSO THEIR QUESTIONS WERE ALSO, WHERE WILL BE BUILDING BECAUSE THEY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE INFRASTRUCTURE.
THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY WILL PREPARE THE INFRASTRUCTURE IN THOSE SIDES.
WE HAVE A FOILING MEETING NOW THIS SCHEDULE AND WE'LL WORK WITH THEM ON ALL OUR CYBER GOVERNANCE WILL GET PERMITS, BUT ALSO IMPROVING THE ROLES IN.
WE ACTUALLY ARE HAVING SOME CONVERSATION TO BUY RICE AND YOU'RE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW DO WE MANAGE SOME THE TRAFFIC IS HAPPENING.
THERE ARE PLACES ON FISHERIES MAY WANT TO ADD MORE JUST ABOUT THE FORWARD.
[01:20:04]
WE HAVE BEGUN THOSE QUARTERLY MEETINGS WITH CITY REPRESENTATIVES AND ACTUALLY ATTEMPTING TO COLLABORATE ON MASSIVE PLANNING OF COMMUNITIES AND THE DISTRICT'S NEW PROJECTS SO THAT WE LOOK FORWARD TO THAT.WE REALLY BELIEVE IN THAT PARTNERSHIP AND WE THINK IT'S GOING TO BE VERY THOUGHTFUL FOR OUR DISTRICT.
>> THANK YOU. THANK YOU MR. BISHOP.
ANY OTHER QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS?
>> YEAH. I HAD A QUICK QUESTION FOR DR. MCFARLAND.
WITH ALL OF THIS RIGHT INFORMATION, IS THERE SOMETHING THAT'S REALLY JUMPED OUT AT? LET'S SAY, A YEAR AGO WE DIDN'T REALLY THINK THAT WE NEEDED FOR THE, IT WASN'T A PRESSING ISSUE.
BUT NOW WE SEE THAT DEMOGRAPHERS REPORT, THEY HAVE A WAY TO DO THIS PROJECT TWO OR THREE SPACES.
>> GREAT QUESTION. TRUST THE PROCESS AND ACTUALLY SEVERAL THINGS WILL OCCUR.
THE FIRST THING IS WE ALL SAY, THANK GOODNESS.
WE'RE ABLE TO PASS THE BAR LIKE THAT.
IMAGINE SITTING HERE, SEEING THIS, THEN TRYING TO OFFER THAT.
THOSE ARE THE FIRST THING, BUT ACTUALLY DIRECTS THE THREE THINGS.
ONE OF THE THREE REASONS WERE REALLY HAD TO SEE IN THE NIGHT IS THAT WHAT WE KNOW IS THAT WE KNOW WHAT THE TIMELINE IS TO BUILD A SCHOOL TO GIVE A SMOOTH PRODUCT.
WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE PEOPLE DEVASTATING, STEADILY MOVING IN AND ENROLL IN RIGHT NOW.
WE KNOW WE HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF CAPACITY TODAY.
ALSO, WE KNOW WE'D HAVE TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL LAND FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS.
NOW WE KNOW THAT WE HAVE REAL ESTATE PORTFOLIO RIGHT NOW IN SOME PLACES, OR THEY ARE NOT WHERE WE COULD USE THE REAL ESTATE FOR SCHOOL, BUT THERE ARE OTHER PLACES THAT WE COULD.
WE ALSO LOOK AT THE CDF FOR OUR CONVERSATION.
WE KNOW THAT THEY HAVE A BRAND PLAN FOR PARKS AND OTHER BEAT IS ALL WEIRD CONVERSATIONS ABOUT C AND WE HAVE PROPERTY THAT WE COULD CAPITALIZE, IDENTIFY OTHER SPACES FOR STUDENTS.
WE ARE AGGRESSIVELY INVESTING IN THE BOND.
WE GET HEADPHONES FOR FORMULATING, AND SO WE'RE AGGRESSIVELY SOLVING THE PROPERTY PURSUITS FIRST OF ALL.
THE OTHER THING IS REDRAWING THE BOUNDARY LINES WE HAD TALKED ABOUT NEEDING TO REDRAW, VANDALIZED.
WE PROBABLY DID ABOUT OMEPRAZOLE WILL BE BRINGING BACK TO YOU SO YOU SEE ONE PART.
YOU ARE GOING INTO THE CAPACITY OF OUR SCHOOLS TODAY.
GREENBACKS SHOW YOU WHICH TOOLS ARE CAPACITY AND WHERE WILL WE RE-DRAW THE BOUNDARIES.
PROBABLY AROUND NOVEMBER WE'LL SORT IT OUT BOUNDARIES AND REALLY TRYING TO IDENTIFY HOW WE CAN MOVE STUDENTS CURRENTLY TO DEAL WITH THEM FOR 24 HOURS, SO WE DRAWING A BOUNDARY LAYER AND THEY'LL TAKE SOME TIME.
OUR GOAL WOULD BE TO SORT THE DRAFTING UP THE BOUNDARIES IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.
THEN JANUARY, REALLY BE ABLE TO SHARE WITH OUR COMMUNITY TO HAVE TYLENOL BEEN DONE BEFORE SO THAT BY FEBRUARY EVERYONE KNOWS WHERE THEY'RE GOING TO SCHOOL THE NEXT YEAR.
WE HAVE TIME TO REALLY DO ANYTHING UNTIL WE GO REAL FAST.
FAST TIMELINE HAS RAISED THAT.
IN ADDITION, WE'LL RECOGNIZE THAT THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION IS, AS WE WAIT, IS SADLY A DECREASE AND SO WE MAY HAVE HAD AND WE PRESENTED THE BOTTOM.
WE HAVE IN OUR MIND, KIND OF STEP-UP APPROACH.
REALITY IS I THINK IT WAS WAS THE DEVS AND ASK A QUESTION ABOUT THIS.
DURING THE PROCESS, WE HAVE SEVERAL PROJECTS THAT WERE DESIGNED TO STORE IN 2025, FOR EXAMPLE.
HOWEVER, IT MAY BEHOOVE US THE FLOOR OF THE PROJECTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THAT WE CAN MAKE SURE YOU CAPITALIZE ON ALL OF THE PARCEL.
WE'RE SHARING THIS TONIGHT BECAUSE IT'S REALLY WANT TO ACCELERATE ALL OF THOSE THINGS.
THE FIRST BEING IDENTIFIED PROPERLY AND DRAW BOUNDARIES, AND THEN ACCELERATING OUR CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE.
WHICH MEANS THAT WE HAVE TO ACCELERATE ALL THE DECISIONS THAT WE MAKE.
THIS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY AT ALL THE NEIGHBORS WILL BE THE NEXT NUMBER OF MONTHS FOR SURE.
>> PROBABLY, MAY I ASK A QUESTION AS IT PERTAINS TO ACCELERATING THE PROCESS? OF COURSE, WE KNOW THAT THE BOND HAS TAKEN CARE OF THE CONSTRUCTION COSTS OF ERECTING THESE NEW BUILDINGS.
BUT THE OPERATING COSTS COMES FROM THE DISTRICT BUDGET.
MY QUESTION IS, IS THE GROWTH THAT WE'RE SEEING IN THE AREA SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH THAT IF WE EXPEDITE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BUILDING, THAT WE HAVE THE OPERATING FUNDS TO BE ABLE TO RUN THAT BUILDING?
[01:25:04]
BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT WE NEED AND YOU KNOW THAT THERE'S WROTE THIS COMPANY, BUT I THINK THAT THERE'S A DELICATE BALANCE OF ENSURING THAT WE HAVE THE BUILDING WHEN NECESSARY, BUT WE DON'T WANT TO HAVE IT TOO SOON, SO WE'VE GOT TO BUILD IT SITTING THERE, ADD 15% CAPACITY.I'M JUST CURIOUS, AND MAYBE I COULD MARK ON IT, EXPLAIN WHETHER OR NOT THE INCREASE IN GROWTH THAT WE'RE SEEING IS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO [NOISE] HAVE THE FUNDS IN THE PROPERTY TAX REVENUE TO OPERATE THE BUILDING THAT THE BOND PROPOSAL AS ALLOWED US TO BUILD.
>> WELL, I THINK DR. PAULIN IS SAYING THAT IT IS DOING THE ZONING AND THINGS LIKE THAT WILL HELP VALUE TIME.
YOU MAKE BETTER DECISIONS, SEE HOW THE GROWTH DOES COME IN.
I CAN'T ANSWER THE SPECIFIC ON FINANCIAL SIDE, BUT I DO THINK THAT GOING THROUGH THE PROCESS OF SEEING WHAT BOUNDARY ADJUSTMENTS CAN BE MADE, MAYBE MOVING SPECIAL PROGRAMS HERE AND THERE TO BEST UTILIZE YOUR CURRENT SPACE.
I SAY THAT, AND THEN DR. MCFARLAND TALKING ABOUT THE COSTS ARE ESCALATING AT SUCH A RAPID SPEED THAT IS TO YOUR POINT, A DELICATE BALANCE.
I CAN'T SPECIFICALLY ANSWER ANYTHING ON THE FINANCIAL SIDE, BUT I DO THINK THAT YOU'RE HAVING TO WEIGH ALL OF THESE FACTORS OBVIOUSLY.
THE CHALLENGE IS WHEN TO PULL THAT TRIGGER YOU INTO THAT SCHOOL GOING.
I THINK THAT THAT'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO BE STUDYING OVER THE NEXT SIX MONTHS OR SO.
>> ABSOLUTELY, AND I THINK WHAT I'M SAYING, ACCELERATING THE DECISION THAT WE HAVE TO MAKE TO GET US READY TO BUILD.
BEING LIKE PURCHASING A PROPERTY IS AMOUNT OF TRYING TO CAPITALIZE ON THE REAL ESTATE MARKET AND ALL THAT, ACCELERATING THE DESIGN AND ALL THE SCHOOLS.
IN OFTENTIMES, WELL, FOR AN ELEMENT U SAVE IT TEAM WORKS OUT.
IT'LL JUST 17, WHICH HELPS US CUT THROUGH THREE OR FOUR MONTHS AWFUL PROCESS AND DESIGN, SO WHAT WE'RE GOING TO BE DOING ACCELERATED MIDDLE THOSE TIME PERIODS, BUT NOT NECESSARILY THE ACTUAL INFRASTRUCTURE TO YOUR COURT HOUSE, SO WE SEE STUDENTS AND WE HAVE ACTUAL NUMBERS AND WE KNOW THE ADA AND ALL THAT'S THERE, THEN WE WOULDN'T SAW AN EXTRA CONSTRUCTING A BUILDING TO THAT POINT.
BUT WE WILL HAVE EVERYTHING PLANNED OUT.
>> IN THE TIME-FRAME FOR SEARCHING A SEAL ROUGHLY THROUGH THREE YEARS.
>> REFER TO THIS LOWER. WE DO WANT TO COVER IT UP.
IF YOU SCROLL UP IN YOUR OWN MIND.
>> GOOD AFTERNOON. MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.
DR. CARLIN, I'LL BE HAPPY TO ANSWER THAT QUESTION ON SECTION HIGHLIGHTS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS RECEIVE 14-16 MONTHS, BUT BARDA, THEY KNOW WHAT TYPE OF PROPERTY OR PURCHASING IS THE ENTITLEMENT PHASE, SO THAT'S MAKING SURE THAT PROPERTY LAND IS READY FOR DEVELOPMENT.
THAT'S MAKING SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE INFRASTRUCTURE IN PLACE AND TO THE PROPERTY AS WATER, SEWER, GAS, ON THE ELECTRICAL, STUFF LIKE THAT SO THAT TAKES TIME.
KNOWING THE PROPERTY AND MAKING SURE THAT ACCOUNTED FOR WITHIN THE CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE IS CRITICAL.
BUT THEY ACTUALLY BUILD THE BUILDING ON THE SIDE, OR AN ELEMENTARY IS 14-16 MONTHS.
MIDDLE SCHOOLS CAN RANGE DEPENDING ON THIS SIDE, BUT ALSO THE CONFIGURATION OF THE MIDDLE SCHOOL THAT YOU'RE SEEING.
AT LEAST UNLIKE FOR US FOR A MIDDLE SCHOOL AND OF COURSE FOR OUR HIGH SCHOOL, IT'S A MINIMUM OF THREE MONTHS.
PROBABLY FOR CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, HAS COMPLEXITY OF IT DURING BUILDING THEM TO THE REGION, BUT IT'S JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE SEEING THE VISITING PROGRAMS ON THE SIDE WITH THE NEW CONSTRUCTION.
>> IN HERE THE QUESTION IS FOR [INAUDIBLE] GREAT OVERVIEW AND THANK YOU AGAIN.
>> YES. EXCITING. AT THIS TIME WE DO HAVE
[01:30:03]
[INAUDIBLE] IT IS 10.2 WHICH IS STUDENT ATTENDANCE UPDATE. DR. MCFARLAND.>> MADAM PRESIDENT. YOU'RE HERE TONIGHT.
IT'S JUST GIVE YOU THE UPDATE ON ATTENDANCE FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR AND REALLY OUR APPROACH TO ADDRESSING ATTENDANCE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
I THINK YOU ALL UNDERSTAND THAT THE CRITICAL NATURE OF ATTENDANCE, SO TONIGHT WE'LL JUST SHARE WITH YOU WHERE WE ARE AND WHAT WE DID IN RELATION TO ATTENDANCE IN SCHOOL.
DR. RIGHT IS THE PARENT PIECE OF DESIGN TYPE, DR. RIGHT?
>> GOOD EVENING, DR. WOODSON-MAYFIELD, BOARD PRESIDENT, DISTINGUISHED BOARD MEMBERS AND DR. MCFARLAND, I'M PLEASED TO PRESENT THE 2023-24 CISD ATTENDANCE IMPROVEMENT.
BUT BEFORE I GET INTO THIS, I WANT YOU TO KNOW I REPRESENT A LOT OF PROFESSIONALS SENIOR, SO I'M JUST THE MESSENGER TONIGHT.
I WORK WITH A CREW, A GROUP OF PEOPLE AT THE CENTRAL OFFICE, AND ALSO OUR PRINCIPLES, AND SO I WANT THE ATTENDANCE REVIEW PERMITTED TO STAND AHEAD OF YOU, JUST BE RECOGNIZED, MR. FISHER, ALL OF YOU, AND THEN ALSO ACCORDED SAFETY, ADMINISTRATOR.
I JUST WANT TO POINT THIS OUT.
IT TAKES A LOT OF PEOPLE TO REALLY FOCUS ON IMPROVING OUR ATTENDANCE.
MISS PATRICE, WHO WORKS WITH OUR PAVES TO IT, AND SO WE WORK COLLECTIVELY AS A WHOLE.
THAT'S MY TEAMMATES WHO WORK TOGETHER AS A WHOLE TO IMPROVE ATTENDANCE.
WHEN WE SEE STUDENTS THAT HAVE PARTICULAR NEEDS AND THEY'RE CHRONICALLY ABSENT, OUR COUNSELORS AND OUR COUNSELING DEPARTMENT LEAD BY TRINA LAINE.
SHE STEPS WITH OUR COUNSELORS ON OUR CAMPUSES AND ALSO DR. BARRETT WHO'S OVER HCM HAS THE TALENTS.
WE MAKE SURE WE HAVE ENGAGED STUDENTS AND ALL OF OUR CLASSROOMS. IT TAKES A COLLECTIVE WHOLE TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE GREAT ATTENDANCE, NOT GOOD ATTENDANCE, BECAUSE YOU'LL SEE THAT WE'VE BEEN THROUGH SOME THINGS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS.
THANK YOU EVERYONE AND THANK YOU PRINCIPLES.
OUR PRINCIPLES ARE THE BIGGEST PART OF THIS.
THEY HAVE ATTENDANCE REVIEW COMMITTEES AT THE CAMPUS LEVEL.
THEY MAKE IT HAPPEN SO I HAVE TO GIVE CREDIT WHERE CREDIT IS DUE.THANK YOU PRINCIPLES IF YOU LIKE THE ROOM, YOU CAN HEAR ME ONLINE.
YOU DRIVE THIS TRAIN SO THANK YOU.
I WANT TO PUT ON MY TEACHER HEAD THIS EVENING.
BOARD MEMBERS YOU ARE THE STUDENTS.
I'M NOT GOING TO GIVE YOU THE ANSWERS BUT I WILL GIVE YOU THE QUESTIONS, SO LOOK AT THESE QUESTIONS.
CONSIDER THEM, IS I SHOWED YOU ALL OF THIS RICH DATA.
THE GUIDING QUESTIONS. WHY IS ATTENDANCE IMPORTANT? I WANT TO KEEP THE MAIN THING ABOUT WHY WE'RE HERE.
WHY WE ATTEND SCHOOL EVERY DAY AND THAT'S TO LEARN.
WE WANT OUR KIDS TO BE INVOLVED IN ALL THE GOOD STUFF THAT WE HAVE ON OUR SCHOOLS.
IF WE CAN GET THEM IN SCHOOL, WE CAN TEACH.
THEY'RE INVOLVED IN SOME RICH ENGAGING INSTRUCTION EVERY DAY.
WE HAVE SOME AMAZING TEACHERS LED BY INSTRUCTION LEADERS ON OUR CAMPUSES.
WHAT'S THE DISTRICT WIDE GOAL FOR ATTENDANCE? YOU'LL SEE THAT IN HIS PRESENTATION, THE CURRENT ATTENDANCE RATE IN HISTORICAL TRENDS.
YOU GOT TO READ THAT DATA AND I WANT YOU TO REALLY TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED DURING THAT TIME PERIOD AND WHAT'S OUR CURRENT ATTENDANCE RATE BY SCHOOL CLUSTERS? WHEN I GET THERE, I WANT YOU TO REALLY IDENTIFY SOME HIGH POINTS AND THINK ABOUT AREAS OF OPPORTUNITY.
THEN TOWARDS THE END, I'LL SHARE WITH YOU OUR STRATEGIC APPROACH TO IMPROVE ATTENDANCE THROUGHOUT OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT.
FIRST OF ALL, WE GET THEM TO SCHOOL, TIME ON TASK IS IMPORTANT.
WE'RE TRYING TO INCREASE INSTRUCTIONAL TIME, WE HAVE THE LINE OF RESOURCES.
WE'RE BUILDING TEACHER CAPACITY SO THEY ARE TEACHERS KNOW HOW TO WORK WITH OUR KIDS BEST, AND WE'RE ALSO MAKING SURE THAT THE LEARNING IS RELEVANT AND WE BUILD THOSE QUALITY LASTING RELATIONSHIPS.
HOW MANY OF YOU CAN REMEMBER THEIR TEACHER THAT INSPIRED YOU, DO YOU HAVE ONE? WHO WAS THAT?
>> MS. ERNESTINE ROSE. WHAT DID SHE DO? DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT SHE TAUGHT OR DO YOU REMEMBER HOW SHE TREATED YOU?
>> IT WAS ENGLISH AND MY DRAMA CLASS AND THEN JUST THAT MEAN TIME THAT I NEEDED. [LAUGHTER]
>> BUT I BET YOU REMEMBER HOW SHE TREATED YOU, RIGHT?
>> THAT'S WHAT OUR TEACHERS DO.
OUR KIDS EXPERIENCE THAT IN OUR CLASSROOMS EVERY DAY.
[01:35:01]
IT GIVES THEM A REASON TO COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY.THEY'RE INSPIRED, THEY'RE ENGAGED IN REALLY RICH LEARNING BUT THEIR TEACHER BELIEVES THAT THEY CAN DO WELL IN THOSE CLASSROOMS. WHEN WE CAN GET THEM IN SCHOOL, WE CAN TEACH THEM AND THEY CAN LEARN.
THAT'S THE BIG IDEA. REPEAT WITH ME, EVERY STUDENT.
WHY IMPROVE RATES OF ATTENDANCE? IT'S REAL SIMPLE.
WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE DATA, CONSIDER THAT SOME OF THESE KIDS ALREADY, IF THEY MISS X AMOUNT OF ABSENCES, THEY'RE MOVING TOWARDS CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM.
BUT THE BIG IDEA AGAIN IS TO INCREASE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE.
BOARD, I WANT TO THANK YOU AND THANK OUR SUPERINTENDENT FOR RAISING THE BAR.
ALREADY WHAT YOU WILL SEE IN THIS PRESENTATION THAT ARE PRECEDENTS HAVE STEPPED UP.
THEY'VE RAISED THE STANDARD AT THEIR CAMPUSES.
THEY'RE COMMUNICATING WITH OUR FAMILIES.
THERE ARE NEWSLETTERS THROUGH LOOM VIDEOS.
THE IMPORTANCE OF COMING TO SCHOOL.
THIS MONTH IS SEPTEMBER, YOUR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE MONTH.
NEXT MONTH OF OCTOBER, THERE'S HASHTAG, GET YOURSELF TO THE SCHOOL.
[LAUGHTER] I WANT YOU ALL TO KNOW THAT, HASHTAG GET YOURSELF INTO SCHOOLS.
WE HAVE ALSO REWARDS AND RECOGNITION, NOT JUST FOR PERFECT DEPENDENCE BECAUSE WE KNOW SOME OF OUR KIDS AREN'T GOING TO BE PERFECT.
BUT WE REALLY WANT TO RECOGNIZE THEM FOR HAVING IMPROVED ATTENDANCE.
OKAY. OUR CURRENT REALITY. LOOK AT THIS.
LOOK AT THE NUMBER, MP1 REPRESENTS MORE COMPULSORY WHILE ON THE FIRST SIX WEEKS LAST SCHOOL YEAR, 2022.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE BUBBLE AT THE TOP, MP1 2023, THIS OUR CURRENT SCHOOL YEAR. DO THE MATH.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LAST SCHOOL YEAR AND HOW WE'RE PERFORMING THIS SCHOOL YEAR? WE'VE REALLY COMPARED THE FIRST SIX WEEKS IN TWO DIFFERENT SCHOOL YEARS.
WHAT IS THE MATH? WHAT NUMBER WOULD YOU LAND ON?
NOW, THERE'S A GREEN BAR WITH SOME WORDS AND IT WAS A GREEN BAR.
>> RESULT IN AN INCREASE OF APPROXIMATELY $1 MILLION IN REVENUE.
WE HAVE MORE KIDS ATTENDING RIGHT NOW ENGAGED IN A GOOD LEARNING.
THAT'S THE MAIN THING. I WANT YOU TO REMEMBER THAT.
THE PRINCIPLES, THEY'RE ALL DOING THIS.
LOOK AT THIS BAR CHART, LOOK AT THE TRENDS SO I'LL NAME IT.
IN THE BLUE, WE HAVE OUR STATE ATTENDANCE RATE.
IN THE YELLOW OR GOLD, THAT'S THE REGION AND A CROWLEY IS IN THE GREEN.
IF YOU LOOK AT THE SIX-YEAR A TREND, I WANT YOU TO REALLY CONSIDER WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED? THEN WE HAVE THOSE COVID YEARS IN 2019, 2020.
WHY DO YOU THINK PERFORMANCE INCREASE? WHEN I SAY PERFORMANCE, THIS IS THIS VEDAS FROM OUR TAPE WHERE IT TAKES ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE REPORT.
WHAT HAPPENED THAT YEAR? WHY DID ATTENDANCE GO UP THE ROOF? THEN WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THAT YEAR? STUDY THAT DATA AND YOU CAN BLURT IT OUT.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO RAISE YOUR HAND.
I'LL BE THE KIND OF TEACHER. DR. WOODSON-MAYFIELD, YOU WAS LOOKING AT ME, GO AHEAD.
>> I WAS THINKING REMOTE LEARNING THAT'S IMPORTANT.
>> REMOTE LEARNING? SAME ANSWER? YOU CONCUR?
>> THEY DIDN'T HAVE ANY OTHER PLACE TO GO SO THEIR MINDS WOULDN'T STAY AT HOME LEARNING.
>> IF YOU RECALL, DURING THE YEAR, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LOG IN.
BUT IF YOU LOOK BACK THE PREVIOUS FOUR YEARS BEFORE COVID, WE WERE ABOUT AT THE SAME ATTENDANCE RATE AS THE STATE.
WE WERE THERE. WHAT WE'RE DOING, OUR SUPERINTENDENT HAS DECIDED WE GOT TO GET BACK ON TRACK.
WE'VE GOT TO IMPROVE THE LEARNING.
WAIT ON THE STATE TO GIVE US OUR DATA,
[01:40:02]
BECAUSE THIS IS LIKE IN DATA.I'M GOING TO MOVE ON TO THE NEXT SLIDE AND YOU'LL SEE THOSE TRENDS THROUGHOUT THIS PRESENTATION.
WHEN WE LOOK AT OUR CURRENT REALITY BY CLUSTER.
WHAT DO YOU SEE? THERE'S LAST YEAR, SIX WEEKS. 2022, 23.
I'M SORRY, THIS IS REPORTING PERIOD WE WANT FOR THIS YEAR IN THE GREEN AND THEN LAST YEAR IS IN THE BLUE.
YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE? WHAT IS THE RATE OF IMPROVEMENT? ANYBODY? I WOULD BE LIKE A TEACHER ON THAT MOVIE, ANYBODY COME ON, HERE'S THE MIC.
>> 1% ACROSS THE BOARD, OUR PRINCIPALS ARE ACHIEVED, PHENOMENAL THING.
WHEN YOU SEE THE THE BROKEN DOTTED LINE, THAT'S THE 95%.
LOOK GOOD. HOW MANY OF OUR SCHOOLS HAVE ACHIEVED THAT? THIS IS MIDDLE SCHOOL.
MORE KIDS ARE LEARNING EVEN IN OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS.
I'VE GOT TO MAKE SURE THE TIME ON TASK WITH THE TEACHER. YOU HAVE A QUESTION?
>> YES. CLUSTER 2, SO WHEN I SEE TWO CAMPUSES THAT ARE FALLING BELOW THAT I WANTED TO DROP ABOUT 3% MONEY, SO WHEN IS THAT CONVERSATION?
>> THE CONVERSATION IS, WE HAVE OBTAINED A PERSONNEL WORKING WITH AT SCHOOL TO CLEAN UP THERE AS WELL.
WHAT WE DO EVERY DAY WE FOCUS ON ARE THE ERRORS AND SO WE KNOW WE HAVE SOME SCHEDULING CHANGES.
WE'RE GOING IN THERE AND CLEANING UP THE DATA AND THEN WE HAD SOME NO-SHOWS.
WE'RE CLEANING UP DATA CONSTANTLY, WHETHER IT'S WITH THE ATTENDANCE REVIEW COMMITTEE OR WITH KARA HYATT, AND THIS WORK HAS ALWAYS TAKEN PLACE IN YEARS PAST FOR WHAT WE'VE DONE IS REALLY FOCUS ON AND BEING INTENTIONAL ABOUT OUR WORK TO SAY OKAY, WAS JOHNNY AND THE BUILDING, THEN IF WE HAVE A SUB, DID THE SUB NOT TAKE ATTENDANCE THAT DAY? WE HAVE A LOT OF RECONCILIATION EFFORTS GOING ON. THAT'S THE CLEANUP.
THIS CAMPUS ACTUALLY IMPROVED A HALF A PERCENT TODAY THROUGH CLEANUP AND IT'S PROBABLY MIDDLE SCHOOL.
WE THINK THROUGH CONTINUED EFFORTS, I'M NOT SURE THEY'LL REACH AT 95% BAR, BUT THEY'LL MOVE CLOSER.
WHEN WE MEET WEEKLY AS A TEAM, WE LOOK AT SCHOOL NEEDS AND WHEN WE SEE DIPS AND ATTENDANCE RATES, WE DON'T WAIT FOR THAT TREND TO KEEP GOING ON.
WE GO AND WORK WITH THE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL, THE ATTENDANTS, CLERKS, AND THE ATTENDANTS ADMINISTRATOR RIGHT NOW.
WE PUT KIDS ON HEPARIN, PUT UP KIDS ON THE PLAN, TALKED TO PARENTS.
WE'VE GOT TO GET THE KIDS BACK IN SCHOOL IF THEY'RE SITTING TOO LONG, IF THEY HAVE PROLONGED ILLNESSES, CONNECTING THEM WITH CARING ADULTS, ENGAGE IN THEM PROPERLY.
THERE'S A LOT OF THINGS THAT WE'RE DOING TO MAKE SURE WHEN WE SEE DEPTHS LIKE THAT, WE'RE IN THE BUILDING AND WORKING WITH OUR PRINCIPLES. YES?
>> I HAD A QUESTION REGARDING RAILWAY SYSTEM OR TWO QUESTIONS ACTUALLY.
WHEN CHILDREN ARE OUT OF SCHOOL, IS THERE SOMETHING GOING OUT TO PARENTS OR IS THERE AN ANNOUNCEMENT OR THE DAY TO DAY OUT?
>> YES. WE HAVE A RAILWAY SYSTEM THAT CALLS OUR FAMILIES WHEN THE KIDS ARE NOT IN SCHOOL, WHETHER IT'S ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE, NINTH-GRADE OR HIGH SCHOOL.
WE ACTUALLY HAVE A TEXT MESSAGE THAT GOES OUT WHEN THEY MISS FIRST PERIOD TO LET THE PARENTS KNOW YOUR CHILD'S NOT HERE.
YES, WE ARE COMMUNICATING VERY FAST ON THE DAY OF WHEN THEY HAVE THAT ABSENCE, WHEN THEY'RE NOT IN PLACE.
>> THANK YOU. MY SECOND QUESTION IS, FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, AND I DON'T KNOW IF WE CAN ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, BUT ARE WE DOING ANYTHING DURING THE DAY, LIKE MONITORING AREAS THAT [INAUDIBLE] ARE WE MONITORING THOSE?
>> YES, MA'AM. THE SAFETY ADMINISTRATIVE CENTER, THEY'RE IN THEIR CARS.
WHENEVER WE HAVE HOT SPOTS, I'M EITHER TALKING TO DR. MCCOY, CHIEF MASTER AND THE PRINCIPALS.
WE'RE SENDING THEM TO THOSE LOCATIONS.
AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL ACROSS FROM NORTH CROWLEY, THEY WERE ACTUALLY AT THE PARK TO MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE STUFF THAT WE SAW IN YEARS PAST,
[01:45:03]
THAT WE STOPPED DOING THOSE THINGS.I THINK IF YOU CAN SEE THERE'S NO MORE FOOTBALL BEEN PLAYED OUTSIDE OF NORTH CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL, REMEMBER THAT? THERE ARE NO MORE KIDS.
I THINK THE PRINCIPAL, IF HE HEARS ME, HE'LL PROBABLY CALL ME LATER ON.
HE'LL RUN THEM DOWN AND GET THEM BACK IN SCHOOL.
WE'RE DOING SOME PHENOMENAL THINGS, BUT WE'RE WORKING AS A TEAM TO MAKE SURE THOSE THINGS GOT TO PARENT.
WHEN WE SEE IT, WE GET A REPORT EVEN FROM A PARENT THEY CALL US.
WE'RE GOING TO SEND SOMEONE TO THEIR LOCATION.
>> I WAS JUST GOING TO ADD TOO TO TRUSTEE STEVENSON.
NOT ONLY DO PARENTS DO NOTIFY OTHERS THAT ARE OUT THERE IN URGENCY.
EMERGENCY RESPONSE BECAUSE IS MY MOM.
THE OTHER DAY ALL OF US GOT AN ALERT.
WHEN JADEN GOT IN THAT WAS BECAUSE SHE IS SO THEY DIDN'T SHE WAS THERE.
BUT WE ALL GOT TO THE ALERT [INAUDIBLE].
>> THEY WILL ALSO ASK THEM TO TEACHERS TO CALL AND THE NURSES BECAUSE WE WANT THAT CARING ADULT ON THAT EVENT.
BUT WE WANTED TO CARING ADULT, A PERSON TO CALL AND SAY, HEY, WE'RE CONCERNED, WE'VE MISSED YOUR CHILD.
OR EITHER IF IT'S ON THE OTHER END OF SKIPPING, WE'RE STILL GOING TO REACH OUT TO THOSE PARENTS AND INVOLVED IN THEM BECAUSE WE GOT TO STOP THAT PATTERN OF SKIPPING.
>> I HAVE A QUESTION, TRUSTEE STEVENSON'S [INAUDIBLE] THIS MORNING, WHEN PARENTS WE RECEIVE TENSOR CALLS AND WHEN THEY KNOW THE CHILD WAS AT SCHOOL, WHEN'S THE PROCESS TO GIVE THEM A POINT OF CONTENTION? I ACTUALLY GIVE THEM SEVERAL PARENTS [INAUDIBLE].
>> THIS IS WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE CLEANING UP THE AIR AND IF IT'S AN ERROR ON THAT PART, WE'LL FIX THEM.
THEY CAN REACH OUT TO THE CAMPUS PRINCIPAL.
PRINCIPAL IS VERY INVOLVED IN THIS.
AND SO WE DO OUR RESEARCH TO MAKE SURE THAT IF IT'S AN ERROR ON MY PART, WE'RE CLEANING UP THOSE THINGS TOO.
OUR PARENTS HAVE TO DO IS REALLY REACH OUT TO THE CAMPUS PRINCIPAL.
I'M SURE OUR PRINCIPALS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED STAFF MEMBER THAT THEY CAN CONTACT, BUT YES, WE ARE DOING THOSE THINGS TO LISTENING TO OUR PARENTS WHEN WE MAKE MISTAKES.
>> [LAUGHTER] I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS. WE DIVIDE [INAUDIBLE] ONCE COMMENTED WITH REGARDS TO OUR PAYMENT PROCESSES AND PROCEDURES.
WE HAVEN'T SEEN MINE ACROSS ALL CAMPUSES.
I JUST KNOW FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE, SOMETIMES IT'S IN THE LAW WITH REGARDS TO OR EVEN THE DESPAIRS HE CAN BE BETWEEN WHERE IT'S BEING DONE REALLY WELL, WHERE THEY HAVE POSITIVE, WHERE THEY KNOW HOW TO DO THEM, BUT THE ATTENDANCE BURDEN IS ON TOP OF IT.
TO JESSE ROBBINS IN THIS POINT, PARENTS KNOW HOW TO REMEDY ANY ISSUES.
ARE STANDARDIZING THOSE PROCEDURES? I THINK THAT'S ALL THE TIME THE TRUSTEE DAVE, IS ALWAYS THE PEOPLE THAT ARE DOING IT WELL.
>> YES SO YOU'LL SEE IN THIS PRESENTATION THAT WE HAVE MTSS ATTENDANCE PROCESS, BUT ALSO WE HAVE A PROCESS WE PUT IN PLACE REALLY STARTED THAT BACK IN THE LATE SPRING, IS AN ATTENDANCE FOR EASE.
WE MAKE SURE THAT THE KIDS IN THE CLASS, NO KIDS IN THE HALLWAYS.
AND IF THEY ARE IN AN OFFICE AREA WE WILL CAUTION THEM SO WE DON'T MAKE MISTAKES.
IF THEY'RE IN ISS, FOR INSTANCE, MAYBE WE HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE RECONCILIATION PROCESS TO MAKE SURE THAT, WELL, THIS TEACHER DIDN'T KNOW THAT THE CHILD IS IN ISS MARKED HIM OR HER ABSENT.
BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE'RE CLEANING THAT UP.
SO WE'RE NOT WAITING TILL TOMORROW, NEXT WEEK TO CLEAN THOSE THINGS UP, WE'RE DOING IMMEDIATELY.
THEN WE'RE ALSO INVOLVED IN THE PARENTS.
IF WE DON'T KNOW, WE'RE CALLING THE PARENTS TO GET SOME INFORMATION FROM THEM JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT WE DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING.
WE'RE COVERING ALL BASES, BUT WE'RE DEFINITELY GOING TO CONTINUE TO ENGAGE OUR PARENTS.
>> I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S THE PART OF YOUR PATIENT OR HOW MUCH IT MEANT TO COUNSEL, LOTS OF CREDITS FOR A HIGH SCHOOL.
I FEEL LIKE ONE PERPETUATES THE NAME, NOT THE FORM OF THE QUESTION, BUT I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW MAY BE IMPACTING PERFORMANCE, ESPECIALLY WHEN WE'RE ON ATTENDANCE FOR CREDIT OUR CLASS [INAUDIBLE] SECONDARY.
>> YES, THAT'S PART OF IT AS WELL.
[01:50:01]
SO YOU REMEMBER, 90% IS OUR COMPULSORY ATTENDANCE.BUT WHEN KIDS GO BELOW AND THEY ARE AT RISK OF NOT RECEIVING CREDIT IF WE HAVE OUR TENDONS FOR CREDIT RECOVERY PROCESS.
WE WERE WATCHING EVERY KID AND SO I'M TALKING TO YOU FROM THE MACRO LEVEL, BUT AT THE MICRO LEVEL, WE'RE FOCUSED ON JOHNNY, WE'RE FOCUSED ON.
GIVE ME IF I DON'T GIVE A GOOD NAME FOR YOU.
BUT WE'RE NOT LOOKING AT JUST NUMBERS.
WE'RE LOOKING AT WHO IS THIS CHILD AND WHAT SUPPORT CAN WE PUT IN PLACE? WE'RE CONNECTING THEM WITH PEOPLE.
>> ONE THING I'LL ALSO JUST THE HALL I WANT TO ADD.
WHEN I HEARD YOUR QUESTION, FIRST QUESTION WAS, WHAT IS IT THAT WE'RE DOING IT IN HIS WEIGHT ON AND HOW ARE WE SCALING IT AND HOW WE CAPITALIZE AND WHERE WE DON'T GET ATTENDANCE WAY.
ONE THING THAT WE DID WAS WE LOOKED IN THE DISTRICT LAST YEAR AND WE SAW SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT DO A GOOD JOB IN SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT QUITE FRIGHTENED BECAUSE CERTAIN WAYS AND THIS FORUM IS ONE OF THE CHIEF ASSISTANT PRINCIPLE, IS THE PRINCIPLE OF BUSINESSES PERSUADE HF STEVENS AND IT RAN ATTENDANCE.
ALLOW VERTEX. WHAT WE'VE DONE IS SHE HAS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ONE ACROSS THE DISTRICT AND MAKING SURE THAT SYSTEMS ARE IN PLACE AT EVERY CAMPUS AND SO WHEN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT A WOMAN IDENTIFIED WERE VILIFIED AND THEN CROWLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL, WE HAD AN ISSUE.
WHAT WE FOUND IS THAT SOME OF OUR ISSUES ARE SELF-INFLICTED, FOR EXAMPLE WE HAVE BASKETBALL OR FOOTBALL GAME AND WE TAKE FOREIGN KIDS OFF AND 20 BANDS LOSE OFF, AND WE DON'T RECORD THEM WITH THEIR TENANTS, CORRECT? WE HAVE KEYS WITH UNEXCUSED ABSENCES AS THEY ARE NOT ACCOUNTED FOR AND SO YOU SEE THESE WIRES, THAT'S WHY IT'S LIENS AND IT'S OFTENTIMES BECAUSE OF THE ACCOUNTING PROCESS.
WELCOME TO THIS FOURTH. DID YOU COME UP FOR A SECOND? I JUST WANT YOU TO JUST GIVE US JUST A HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW OF WHAT YOU DO IS WHEN WE ARE BORN, WE SEE THAT WE MAY HAVE TINNITUS ACCOUNTING ISSUES.
WHAT DO YOU DO AT A HIGH LEVEL TO TRY TO BREAK?
>> GOOD EVENING, BOARD PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS AND DR. MCFARLAND, THIS IS MY AREA OF EXPERTISE AND I AM VERY PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT I'VE BEEN ABLE TO GO TO CAMPUSES AND GET TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND THE AREA OF RECONCILIATION THAT YOU ASKED ABOUT BUT THE AREA THAT [INAUDIBLE] IS POINTING OUT IS A LOT OF TIMES STUDENTS ARE WITH THE NURSE, OR THE COUNSELOR, OR AT A FOOTBALL GAME OR THE TEACHER FORGOT TO TURN IN A BELLKOR WARM.
THAT'S WHY WE DO RECONCILIATION THAT CAPTURES THOSE STUDENTS ABSENCES BY EMAILING THE TEACHER USING TEAMS TO NOTIFY THE TEACHER OF THE ABSENCE OR EVEN CALLING THE TEACHER THE SAME DAY.
WE DO THIS, I MONITOR IT EVERY DAY THAT EVERYONE HAS DONE THEIR RECONCILIATION.
THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PROCESS TO USE THE SAME SPREADSHEET.
IT'S ONE SPREADSHEET PER CAMPUS AND WHAT THEY DO IS THEY RECONCILE THE STUDENTS THAT WERE ABSENT FOR THAT DAY AND CHECK ON THE ABSENCE TO MAKE SURE THAT IT'S THE CORRECT DEPTH.
WELL, AS OF TODAY, WE HAVE REGAINED ABOUT $44,000 ON RECONCILIATION.
SO WITH THAT RECONCILIATION, I'M TRYING TO UNDERSTAND IS THIS BROUGHT TO THAT PERSON'S DETENTION.
THAT THAT ERROR WAS MADE. IS THAT RIGHT?
>> YES. WHAT WE DID IT I PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT INTO THIS, HOW WE CAN DO IT AS A WHOLE DISTRICT LEVEL TO HAVE THE SAME SYSTEMS IN PLACE.
WE HAVE THE ATTENDANCE BREEZE FIRST AND THEN THE TEACHER 100% SUBMISSION AT THE SAME TIME, THE SCHOOLS ARE ASKED AND WE CHECK ON IT.
WE'VE GOT TWO VISITS TO MAKE SURE THEY'RE MAKING AN ANNOUNCEMENT AT THE FUNDING PERIOD OF TIME.
KARA, SHE WAS ABLE TO DO A DATA MINE FOR EVERY LEVEL THAT THEY RUN EVERY DAY.
AND THEN ONCE THEY RUN IT, THEY WILL RECONCILE THE STUDENTS THAT WERE ABSENT.
BECAUSE THEY WILL CAPTURE THE STUDENTS THAT WERE ABSENT FOR THAT DAY AND THEY PUT IT IN THEIR SPREADSHEET AND THEN THEY GO THROUGH IT TO SEE WHAT KIDS THEY HAVE TO RECONCILE FROM IMPOSSIBLE MISTAKES.
[01:55:06]
>> I'LL JUST SHARE AN EXAMPLE IF I PUT A LITTLE EARLIER THIS WEEK.
I'M GOING TO ASSIGN AS CROSS-COUNTRY FIRST PERIOD [INAUDIBLE] SO I RECEIVE THE TEXT PROBABLY ABOUT TEN IN THE MORNING AND SAID YOUR SON WAS VERY SCARY SO I DIDN'T NEED ANY COLUMNS FOR THE CLERKS SAID OUT OF YOUR SON COME AUGUST BECAUSE THE SLIP TO HIS FIRST PERIOD, SO I TEXT MY SON.
THAT'S A LOT OF STEPS THERE, USING YOUR WAY TO WRITING SO THERE IS AN ISSUE VERSUS HAVING A STUDENT GOING BACK AND FORTH GETTING PAPERWORK SIGNED.
>> YES. THE TEACHERS DO HAVE TO GET CONSENT FROM THE TEACHERS THAT THAT ABSENT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
BUT IF YOU EMAIL THE ATTENDANCE CLERK DIRECTLY, THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIX THE ATTENDANCE.
I'M WORKING ON UPDATING OUR WEBSITE TO HAVE THAT AVAILABLE FOR PARENTS AS WELL.
>> THIS IS OUR SYSTEM OF SUPPORT THAT WE HAVE IN PLACE NOW IN S3 TIERS AND SO MUCH LIKE OUR ACADEMIC TIERING SYSTEM FOR OUR MTSS, WE HAVE OUR UNIVERSAL SUPPORTS AND SO WHAT WE ASK OUR PRINCIPALS TO DO IS CREATE ENVIRONMENTS WHERE KIDS ARE ENGAGED AND THERE'S A POSITIVE CLIMATE.
WE CREATE POSITIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH OUR STUDENTS.
WE KNOW THAT THE IMPACT ON ACHIEVEMENT IS ADVERSELY AFFECTED WHEN KIDS DON'T ATTEND SCHOOL, WHICH COULD LEAD TO CHRONIC ABSENTEEISM AND SO WE EVEN HAVE SUPPORTS FOR THAT.
AND SO WE LOOK AT THE ROOT CAUSES FOR WHY KIDS ARE ABSOLUTELY EVERY TIER, BUT WE ARE FOR EVERY SULLA UNIVERSAL SUPPORT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT APPEARED HAS A CONNECTION TO HIS SCHOOL WITH A CARING ADULT.
AND SO WHEN WE MOVE UP TO TIERS, THESE STUDENTS, THEY HAVE MISSED 10-19% OF SCHOOL.
WE STILL CARE ABOUT THEM, BUT WE'RE GOING TO BE VERY INTENTIONAL AND WORK WITH THEM ON A MORE PERSONALIZED BASIS.
THIS IS INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT FOR OUR STUDENTS.
AND SO WHEN WE GET TO THAT LEVEL, THEN WE START PULLING IN MR. MOHAMED.
THIS LINE CONNECTING WITH OUR PARTNERS AND OTHER RESOURCES AND ALSO MR. VAN CAMP AND WE HAVE OUR COMMUNITY PARTNER PROGRAM, WHO HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES THAT PROVIDES WRAP-AROUND SERVICES BECAUSE WE KNOW IF A STUDENT IS MISSING SCHOOL AND WE'RE NOT ADDRESSING HIS OR HER NEEDS, THEN WE ALSO HAVE TO ADDRESS THE FAMILY NEEDS AS WELL.
NEXT, POLL CHILD EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT.
ONE THING THAT WE'RE GOING TO TRY NOT TO DO IS PROVIDE LEGAL INTERVENTION.
THAT SAID THE LAST RESORT AND THEY SET THE UPPER TIER.
WE'RE GOING TO REALLY RECONNECT THAT STUDENTS IS SOME REALLY STRONG RESOURCES TO REENGAGE THEM. ANY QUESTIONS?
>> NOT A QUESTION, BUT I LIKE THAT, MAKING SURE WATCHING THE CHILD AND [INAUDIBLE].
>> WELL, THANK YOU. WELL, THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR LISTENING.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN THIS EFFORT.
THANK YOU MORE FOR YOUR QUESTION, THAT'S VERY [INAUDIBLE] WE NOW HAVE OUR FINAL TOPIC FOR THE STUDY SESSION, WHICH IS AGENDA ITEM 10.3, SCHOOL QUALITY METRICS SUPPORT DR. [INAUDIBLE].
>> ABOUT PRESIDENT AND BOARD MEMBERS ALIVE JUST LIKE TO JUST UPDATE YOU ON TODAY, IS THIS DEVELOPMENT ON SCHOOL BOARDS REPORT ON MONDAY AND ALSO MONDAY EVENING.
WE RECEIVE FEEDBACK FROM PARENTS ABOUT AN ADDITIONAL METRIC THAT THEY WANTED TO ADD TO THE SCHOOL REPORT.
BUT AGAIN INDEED TODAY OUR PRESS MEETING, WE GOT INFORMATION FROM PRINCIPAL ABOUT ADDITIONAL MODIFICATIONS ON.
THIS SCHOOL PARTS OF REPORT IS UNDER DEVELOPMENT, BUT I CAN TELL YOU THAT, I'M JUST GOING TO GIVE YOU THE GENERAL GIST OF THIS REPORT.
THE CURRENT TEA REPORT WHEN THEY RELEASE IT, WILL BE BASED PRIMARILY ON STAR.
WE DO BELIEVE THE STAR IS IMPORTANT, WE BELIEVE THAT IT'S IMPORTANT FOR US TO KNOW HOW SCHOOLS ARE PERFORMING [INAUDIBLE].
WELL WE ALSO BELIEVE THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER VARIABLES THAT ARE IMPORTANT AS WELL.
[02:00:02]
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE DID WAS, WE BEGIN TO LOOK AROUND IN DIFFERENT WAYS PARENTS MAKE DECISIONS ABOUT WHERE THEY ASSIGN THEIR KIDS TO SCHOOL OR REALLY TAKE THE KIDS TO SCHOOL OR REALLY HOW THEY'VE DETERMINED WHETHER THE SCHOOLS ARE TAKEN OR NOT.WE LIVE WITH THE METRIC REPORT AND WE STARTED ALL THE METRICS IN A METRIC REPORT.
WE LOOKED AT THE GREAT SCHOOLS REPORT AND THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER RELIGION PURPORTS THE GUILT GET SCHOOLS RATINGS AND THEY ARE LIKE, OKAY OUT OF THE [INAUDIBLE].
WE BEGAN TO LOOK AT IT AND IT WILL BE PILES OF RESEARCH, AND RESEARCH SAY THAT REALLY PARENTS CONSIDER ACADEMICS AS IMPORTANT, BUT THEY ALSO CONSIDER OTHER FACTORS.
THEY CONSIDER FACTORS LIKE THE TEACHER TEAM, THAT WAS KEY.
BASICALLY, WHAT WE KNOW AS THE RESEARCH IS CLEAR IS THAT IF YOU HAVE TEACHERS THAT ARE BUILT IN A CAMPUS FOR FIVE OR MORE YEARS, IT'S MORE LIKELY THAT THEY'RE GOING TO BE SEASONED TEACHERS AND CAPABLE OF PERFORMING WELL.
BUT I'M NOT SAYING THE NEW TEACHERS DON'T LIVE.
ON AVERAGE, THE LONGER TEACHERS ARE IN THE CLASSROOM, THE MORE EXPERIENCE OR IT NORMALLY HAS A POSITIVE RESULT.
THEY WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE RATE.
BUT THEY ALSO LOOK AT STUDENTS' REPORT.
[INAUDIBLE] LIKE WHAT'S AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OF THE SCHOOL.
WHAT KIND OF COUNSELING, WHAT KIND OF SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL UP TO AS WELL? WHAT KIND OF FINE ARTS PROGRAMS ARE THEY? WHAT KIND OF CTE? THEY ARE LOOKING AT ALL THESE OTHER THINGS.
WITH TEA, THE REPORT THAT THE TEA GIVES IS BASICALLY A REGION OF START.
BECAUSE WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE DESIGNING AND WE'LL BE PROBABLY GRADED WITHIN A WEEK TO SHARE WITH YOU ALL, A DRAFT FOR YOU TO REVIEW.
BUT WHAT WE'RE DOING IS WE'RE IDENTIFYING WHICH WE WILL USE ACADEMICS.
WE LOOK AT OUR DISPOSAL REPORT BECAUSE THEY WON'T SAY CAMPUSES.
WHAT REALLY THEY WANT TO KNOW IS, WHAT PERCENT OF THE STUDENTS ARE ACTUALLY INVOLVED IN THIS VERY INSTANT [INAUDIBLE]? WHEN WE FOUND THIS, WE'VE LOOKED AT EVERY CAMPUS AND YOU'LL SEE THIS.
BUT ON EVERY CAMPUS, YOU'LL SEE THAT OFTENTIMES IS LESS THAN A TEN PERCENT OF THE SYLLABUS, THAT ARE INVOLVED IN THIS VERY INSTANCE.
NOW, THERE'S RESILIENT, YOU'RE ALL ENGAGED WITH WORK.
ONE OF OUR GOALS, LET'S SAY IF WE CAN REDUCE THE NUMBER OF TIME [INAUDIBLE] INVOLVEMENT OF [INAUDIBLE] BUT THAT'S IMPORTANT.
THERE'S A DISCIPLINARY INDICATED IN OUR SCHOOL PURGE REPORT.
THERE'S ALSO A PARENT INVOLVED.
WHAT TYPES OF OPPORTUNITIES? PARENTS WANT TO KNOW, HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? WE SHOW PRINCIPALS TODAY.
THERE ARE ROUGH DRAFT OF THE REPORT AND THE FIRST THING THE PRINCIPAL SAID IS, "WAIT A MINUTE, WE HAVE OTHER WAYS OF BEING EVOLVED." I'M LIKE, YOU MAY HAVE IT AND WE DON'T KNOW ABOUT.
WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO IS BE VERY EXPLICIT ABOUT HOW PARENTS CAN BE INVOLVED ON OUR CAMPUSES, AND PREZIP THIS ON OUR SCHOOL PROBS REPORT.
ALSO STUDENT CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS, WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TEAMS BEING ENGAGED AND EVOLVED, AND SO CAMPUS IS A LITTLE GOOD AND RATING BASED ON THE CLUBS AND GROUPS THEY HAVE ON THEIR CAMPUS.
WE THINK THAT THERE WILL BE SOME INCENTIVE TO HAVE MORE CLUBS AND MORE ORGANIZATIONS AS WELL.
AGAIN, ALSO COMMUNICATION, THAT WAS A BIG WIN FROM PARENTS THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT, AND THEN ALSO DIVERSITY.
WE HAD THE ETHNICITIES IDENTIFY ON OUR SCHOOL QUALITY REPORT.
BUT WE ALSO NEED TO IDENTIFY OUR ECONOMICS DISADVANTAGE, TO REALLY SHOW THE TRUE DIVERSITY TO OUR CAMPUS.
THE SCHOOL QUALITY REPORT THAT WE WILL PRODUCE, ON EVERY CAMPUS, WILL INCLUDE ALL NINE OF THOSE INDICATORS.
THEN WHAT WE'LL DO IS, WE WILL IDENTIFY AND WE ARE A RATING SCALE FORM ONE TO FIVE AND WE USE THE NUMBERS BECAUSE ACCORDING TO THE RESEARCH, THE PARENTS WERE MOST, THE NEGATIVE [INAUDIBLE] NUMBER HAS A PROPOSAL LETTERS.
FOR EXAMPLE, A SCHOOL WITH A FOUR AND SCHOOL WITH A B, IT'S LIKE CONSUMPTION IS A SLEW OF THEM OR IS A MORE FAVORABLE SCHOOL.
ALTHOUGH IT'S THE SAME SINCE THE LETTER GRADE, IT REALLY MASKS A LOT OF INFORMATION TO PARENTS TO WHAT WOULD REASONABLE BREAKS LOOSE.
ANYWAY, I'LL SHARE ALL THIS TO YOU ALL, YOU'LL HAVE A CHANCE TO REVIEW IT.
WE'LL SEE IT, WE'LL HAVE SOME CONVERSATIONS.
AS YOU KNOW, THE STATE WILL NOT BE ISSUING SCORES UNTIL PROBABLY MID OCTOBER.
WE PLAN TO HAVE THIS READY WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK AND A HALF, AND THEN ONCE WE GET THE INFORMATION FROM THE SAME, WE'LL INCLUDE THEIR INFORMATION INTO OUR SYSTEM AND BE ABLE TO INSURING [INAUDIBLE] JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW ABOUT THAT AND WE'RE WORKING ON THAT AND MAKING GOOD PROGRESS.
>> THANK YOU, DOCTOR. ARE THERE ANY QUESTIONS FOR DR [INAUDIBLE]? YES. TRUSTEE DAVIS.
DR. [INAUDIBLE], THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE INITIATIVE TO CREATE A SYSTEM WHERE WORKING, I THINK THERE'S A BREAKDOWN IN THE EXISTING ONE.
THIS QUESTION COMES FROM THE NATURAL SKEPTIC IN ME.
[02:05:03]
WHEN WE TALK ABOUT SCHOOL QUALITY REPORTS AND ACCOUNTABILITY RATINGS AND ALL OF THESE THINGS, ONE OF THE REASONS THAT I BELIEVE THE PEOPLE HOLD THEM IN HIGH ESTEEM IS BECAUSE IT'S NOT ME TELLING MY STORY.THE QUESTION IS, HAVE WE CONSIDERED, WITH MOST OF THIS INFORMATION BEING SELF-REPORTED, HOW DO WE POSITION OURSELVES AGAINST THE NATURAL SKEPTICS, WHO SAY, "WELL, THEY'RE JUST TELLING THEIR OWN STORY." THOUGH IT MAY BE ACCURATE, SOMETIMES IT'S NOT VIEWED AS THE SAME.
SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M TELLING YOU I'M A GREAT GUY VERSUS YOU BEING ABLE TO SEE THE DOCUMENTATION THAT I'M A GREAT GUY, THAT SOMEONE HAS PRODUCED. DOES THAT MAKE SENSE?
THERE ARE SOME OF THE METRICS THAT ARE USED WITHIN THESE LINE, ARE ACTUALLY METRICS THAT ARE BEING EXTRACTED FROM TEA REPORTS.
THE DISCIPLINARY REPORTS, THE ACADEMICS, THAT'S COMING STRAIGHT FROM TEA DATA.
TEACHER TENURE, THAT'S COMING FROM TEA DATA.
THE DATA THAT'S LITTLE BIT MORE QUALITATIVE THAN WE REPORT WILL BE THE DATA THAT WE WILL SELECT FROM OUR CAMPUSES.
THE WAY WE ARE CALCULATING, WE ARE BASICALLY JUST AVERAGING ALL OF THEM TOGETHER, AND THEN WE'LL GIVE THEM A SCORE AND SO WILL EXPLAIN IT.
THIS IS OUR OWN RATINGS SYSTEM, OUR OWN INDICATOR PART BASED ON THESE STANDARDS.
WE'LL BASICALLY BE STATING THAT [INAUDIBLE].
>> [INAUDIBLE] I WOULD SAY THAT IT'S A RECOMMENDED PRACTICE THAT YOU DO HAVE A METRIC SUCH AS DOCTORS TO DESCRIBE IT.
IT HELPS US SUPPORT EQUITY BECAUSE IT LOOKS AT, THEY MENTIONED OTHER THAN JUST SCHOOL REFORM.
BECAUSE YOU CAN SEE IT IN SCHOOL AND THEY CAN BE IN A.
THE STUDENTS CAN FEEL UNSEEN, IGNORED, [INAUDIBLE].
THEY DON'T HAVE OPPORTUNITY [INAUDIBLE] AREAS.
WHILE I'M GOING TO SAY THE STAKES THAT WE'VE BEEN [INAUDIBLE] TO DEAD ON STANDARDIZED [INAUDIBLE], I THINK I BETTER PRACTICE IN EDUCATION, WOULD BE LOOKING TO BE LOOKING AT A VARIATION OF AN EMISSIONS [INAUDIBLE] I LIKE THE IDEA THOUGH, PERSONALLY.
>> I'D LIKE TO ADD SOMETHING TO THAT BECAUSE I THINK WHAT THIS REPORT THAT YOU'RE CREATING, IN ADDITION TO IS NOT MEANT TO TAKE PLACE OF OR EVEN TRYING TO CONVINCE ANYBODY, THAT IT HAS TAKEN THE PLACE OF STAR.
BUT IS IN ADDITION TO AND THEN, IT HAS GROWN OUT OF A NEED FOR PARENTS TO HAVE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, ABOUT THE CAMPUS LOOKING AT STAR SOURCE CANNOT PROVIDE.
THEN IF ANYBODY HAS QUESTIONS, ANYTHING THAT'S IN THE REPORT THAT WE GENERATE, IT CAN BE SUPPORT, IS THAT RIGHT?
ACTUALLY, A STAR SCORES ARE INCLUDED.
IN THE ACADEMIC SIX SECTION, WE USE THE STAR SCORES.
WHATEVER RATING THEY GIVE US, WE PUT THAT INTO THE RATING FOR THAT AREA.
WHILE WE JUST INCLUDE ALL THE OTHER AS WELL.
>> [NOISE] I PERSONALLY DOESN'T MEAN THAT'S GOING TO ADD MORE DIMENSION I WOULD SAY.
SO EVERYTHING, BECAUSE TEST SCORES, ESPECIALLY STARS SCORES, DON'T REPRESENT THE WHOLE STUDENT BODY AND DON'T REPRESENT INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS [INAUDIBLE].
I FEEL LIKE IT WILL DEFINITELY BE MORE IN DEPTH AND TRANSPARENT THAN JUST SAYING, "OKAY, THIS IS OUR LETTER.
THAT'S ABOUT IT." I ESPECIALLY BELIEVE THE CLUB EVALUATION PART OF IT IS TRULY IMPORTANT FOR THOSE.
A LOT OF OUR STUDENTS, INCLUDING ME, DON'T KNOW ALL THE CLUBS THAT ARE OFFERED [NOISE] AS WE GET THERE AND IT ISN'T REALLY MUCH EXPLORED, AND NOBODY REALLY CARES.
ALSO BECAUSE I WAS STRANGE FOR MAKING A BIG CLUB BECAUSE NOBODY SAW IT AS AN IMPORTANT THING TO HAVE.
THERE'S ONLY ADDING DIMENSION AND JUST DIFFERENT ASPECTS TO HOW YOUR SCHOOL AND I READ THEM.
I THINK THIS IS REALLY [INAUDIBLE].
[02:10:07]
>> I JUST HAD A QUESTION REALLY TO THINK ABOUT THE TRUSTEE, THEY WROTE COMMENT, ALL OF THESE AREAS, LIKE YOU MENTIONED, STUDENT CLUBS, AND PARENT INVOLVEMENT.
THEY WILL TAKE LEADERSHIP FROM THE DISTRICT OR THE CAMPUSES.
WE HAVE TO PREPARE IN THAT WAY SO WE CAN PLAN ALSO, IF ALL OF THESE DIMENSIONS EXIST OR WE CREATE ALL OF THESE DIMENSIONS FOR MEASURE, WE REALLY HAVE PERSONNEL IN PLACE TO MANAGE THEM AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE EFFECTIVE.
>> YES, THAT'S A GREAT QUESTIONS, AND SO WITH THE PARENT INVOLVED, AND THEN THE STUDENTS ENGAGING, THE STUDENT POLLS, AND ALL THAT.
A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO YOU ALL GAVE US THE DIRECTION TO MAKE SURE WE IMPROVE THAT, AND SO WE DO HAVE THAT.
AND ON EVERY CAMPUS, WE SET THE EXPECTATION THAT THESE THINGS HAPPEN, BUT WE'VE NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED, OR RECOGNIZED, THAT THEY WON'T HAPPENING.
SO THIS IS REALLY A WAY FOR US TO SAY, GOOD JOB FOR HAVING PTA, AND PARENT LEADERSHIP GROUPS, AND BOOSTER CLUBS, AND PARENT MUTUAL DAY.
IT'S JUST REALLY A WAY FOR US TO TELL OUR OWN STORY TO SAY, HEY, THIS IS A GOOD SCHOOL, THIS IS A B SCHOOL BUT THERE'S ALSO WITHIN OUR STANDARDS WHERE WE'VE GOT PARENTS AND KIDS AND COUNSELORS AND ALL THIS.
>> BUT THIS IS CREATED WHERE WILL PARENTS FIND, IS IT IN DASHBOARD, OR IS CONNECTED TO PERSONAL WEBSITE, HOW WILL THEY FIND THE ACCESS TO THIS DATA?
>> YES, WE WILL DEFINITELY BE YOUR HABITS CONVERSATIONS ABOUT HOW TO GET IT TO THEM, HOW TO MAKE SURE THAT PARENTS HAD IT IN THE HANDS.
IN AN IDEAL WORLD, YOU DON'T LOOK AND WE LEARN FROM THE BOARD COMPONENT, THAT MILLING THINGS HOME TO PARENTS, WORKS BECAUSE THEY CAN TOUCH IT, THEY CAN SEE IT IN THE FIELD.
WE ALSO FOUND THAT THE ZOOM, WE HAVE VIRTUAL MEETINGS AND TOPICAL PARENTS WORK.
WE'LL BE USING ALL THE THINGS THAT WE'VE LEARNED TO TRY TO MAKE SURE WE GET THIS INFORMATION OUT TO PARENTS, AND SO WILL BE DOING A LOT OF YOUTH WITH MOST 21.
>> ONE MORE QUESTION, DR. MCFARLAND.
YOU IDENTIFY A TEACHER TENURE FEATURES THAT ARE IN THE PROFESSION IN FIVE YEARS OR MORE USUALLY PERFORMED BETTER.
IN THIS THIS MAY NOT BE A METRIC REPORT COMPONENT, BUT HOW ARE WE GAUGING FACULTY STAFF MORALE? BECAUSE I THINK THAT PLAYS A MAJOR PART.
THAT'S ONE OF THOSE INTANGIBLE THINGS.
THAT WHEN YOUR MORALE IS GREAT, YOU DON'T NECESSARILY SEE IT, BUT YOU CAN SEE IT IN THE RESULTS THAT ARE PRODUCED, AND I THINK THE ADVERSE IS ALSO TRUE WHEN YOUR MORALE IS STRETCH.
YOU'RE GOING TO SEE RESULTS THAT ARE TRASHED AS WELL.
IS THERE SOMETHING, IT'S OH, WOW, THAT IS UNDERSTOOD? CONCEPTUALLY IS THERE SOMETHING THAT WE'RE ALSO DOING? ALSO, I GUESS, IDENTIFY OR REFLECT MORALE.
IS THAT A TURNOVER RATE YEAR OVER YEAR, OR IS IT, I DON'T KNOW, BUT HOW ARE WE LOOKING AT THAT AS WELL?
>>THAT'S A GREAT QUESTION, AND THEN ALL THE OTHER BEING THAT YOU ALL ASKED AND WE'RE INVESTIGATING IS THE ABILITY TO DO A SURVEY, MAYBE TODAY THEY GAUGE MORALE.
WHAT WE ARE ANTICIPATING IS THAT, ONCE WE'RE ABLE TO DO THIS SURVEY, WILL PROBABLY PERFORMING THE ARTS HOMEWORK, WILL BE TO HAVE A BASELINE OF A FEATURE OF CLIMATE MEMORIES OF ALL THE THINGS THAT WE DO, ADD TO THIS DOCUMENT GOING FORWARD.
BUT THAT REALLY IN REALITY TEACHER MORALE SHOULD INDICATE ERRONEOUS, BUT WE DON'T HAVE THAT DATA RIGHT NOW.
ONCE YOU GET THE THERE WE'LL BE ADVANCED.
>> GOOD QUESTION, TRUSTEE DAVIS, BUT I DO ALSO HAVE A POINT OF MINE TO THAT.
I KNOW YOU SAID WE WILL DO SURVEYS, WILL THE ENTIRE DISTRICT HEALTH SURVEYS ARE LITIGIOUS OF THAT? FROM MY UNDERSTANDING, ONLY THE TEACHERS WERE DOING THE SURVEYS? ARE WE SURVEYING PARENTS AND SO WE'LL LISTENING HOPEFULLY, AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE ARE DOING FOR THIS YEAR? WITH THE NEW DEPERTMENT IN THE PRIOR IN THE NORM SURVEY TEACHER ON CAMPUS.
WE MOVE FORWARD WITH THE LOSER AND WE MAYBE GETTING RECEPTION FROM ALL THE DIFFERENT CATEGORIES,
[02:15:04]
FROM PARENTS, FROM STUDENTS, FROM STAFF, FROM PROFESSIONAL STAFF, FROM ALL THE DIFFERENT CATEGORIES, AND WE'LL BE ABLE TO GROUP THEIR RESPONSES BASED ON THEMES FROM THOSE GROUPS.THERE'S A SURVEY THAT'LL BE DONE BY THIRD PARTY, NOT BY THE DISH, WILL BE DONE IT BEFORE, HAS BEEN THE INFORMATION THAT WE'VE USED JUST THE INSIDE OF THE BETTER.
BUT THIS IS WORKING WITH AN OUTSIDE COMPANY TO COME IN, AND PUT THEM TOGETHER FOR ALL OF US.
>> REAL QUICK. ALSO, I BELIEVE IT'S MR. DAVIS, WITH THE INFORMATION THAT WE HAVE, NOT ONLY SHOULD WE, IT WAS TRUSTEE ROBINSON.
I'M PUTTING THIS OUT ON THE WEBSITE AND SO ON AND SO FORTH.
BUT WITH A GREAT REPORT FROM THE DEMOGRAPHER, THIS SHOULD BE SOMETHING THAT WE TAKE TO HIGHLAND HOMES AND DAVID WEEKLY HOMES AND SAY, HEY, THESE ARE THE AREAS THAT AREN'T TRULY A HIGH PERFORMANCE.
AND HEY, IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A BOOK CLUB OR YOU'RE LOOKING FOR WHATEVER FOR YOUR CHILD, IT'S RIGHT HERE, IN THE PARENTS.
SO I HAVE TO GO SEARCH IN FLORIDA, GO TO CROWLEY ISD AND THEY CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT SCHOOL THEY WANT TO GO TO.
>> SOUNDS LIKE ANOTHER RELIGION MUCH.
>> WE LEARNED A LOT IN THE PROCESS, AND THE ONE THING IS THAT WE HAVE TO TELL OUR STORIES, SO THIS IS A TOOL THAT WE WILL USE TO DO THAT.
>> ANY OTHER COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS OR ANY OTHER [INAUDIBLE] WELL RELATED TO ALL OF THE STUDY SESSION TOPICS.
THANK YOU, TEAM FOR ALL OF THE FREQUENT TAPING, SAME BOARD FOR YOUR QUESTIONS AND THE RESPONSES.
I THINK THIS JUST HELPS US BE BETTER PREPARED AND KNOW, AND THEN ALSO WE CAN THINK OF OTHER IDEAS THAT WE CAN DISCUSS AS WELL.
