IF YOU HAVE NOTICED, OUR FIRST VIE PRESIDENT, MR. GARY GRASSIA, HAS BEEN ABSENT FOR TODAY'S MEETING AS WELL AS OUR MEETING A FEW WEEKS AGO.

UNFORTUNATELY, MR. GRASSIA'S FATHER PASSED AWAY.

AS HE IS ATTEMPTING TO, OF COURSE, MOURN THE LOSS OF HIS FATHER AS WELL AS HANDLE ALL OF THE BUSINESS THAT GOES ALONG WITH THAT, WHICH I'M SURE MANY OF US CAN UNDERSTAND AND RELATE TO, HE WILL BE ABSENT TONIGHT, AS WELL AS POTENTIALLY IN OUR NEXT COMING MEETING.

WE CERTAINLY WANT TO SEND OUR THOUGHTS, OUR PRAYERS, AND WELL WISHES TO THE GRASSIA FAMILY, AND CERTAINLY OUR SUPPORT AS A BOARD FOR HIS ABSENCE.

BUT WE HAD 74 STUDENTS.

I THOUGHT IT WAS 76, AM I CORRECT? ANYBODY KNOW?

>> WE HAD A TOTAL OF 76 STUDENTS THAT RECEIVED THEIR LEVEL ONE CERTIFICATE FROM LAMAR STATE COLLEGE.

THE CEREMONY LED BY COLLEGE PARTNERS SHOWCASED THE VALUABLE PARTNERSHIP.

WE ARE SO PROUD OF THESE STUDENTS.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THEM ALL AND THANK YOU AGAIN, LAMAR UNIVERSITY FOR HELPING WITH OUR STUDENTS.

ON SATURDAY, JANUARY 25TH, OVER 300 REGISTRANTS ATTENDED 60 PLUS EXPERT LED SESSIONS ON STRESS MANAGEMENT, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, AND BUILDING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.

THE EVENT ALSO FEATURED A RESOURCE FAIR WITH 30 VENDORS OFFERING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES TO SUPPORT MENTAL WELL BEING.

BUT IN CISD, MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS ISN'T JUST A ONCE A YEAR EFFORT.

WE PROUDLY EMPLOY 40 CERTIFIED COUNSELORS AND PARTNER WITH MENTAL HEALTH AGENCIES TO ENSURE OUR STUDENTS HAVE THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO SUCCEED.

CAITLIN LAMB, COREEN TRICE, PLACED AND WILL ADVANCE TO THE 2025 EDUCATORS RISING NATIONAL CONFERENCE, WHICH WILL BE HELD IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA, FROM JUNE 26TH TO JUNE 29TH, 2025.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CAITLIN AND COREEN, AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING ALL OUR TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF FUTURE EDUCATORS, STUDENTS IN THE CLASSROOMS RIGHT HERE IN CROWLEY ISD.

EVERYONE IN CROWLEY ISD FROM MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT TO CAFETERIA TO CENTRAL OFFICE TO EVERY SCHOOL IN CROWLEY ISD PLAYED A HAND IN MAKING THIS A SUCCESSFUL EVENT.

WE WILL BRING THOSE LADIES BACK UP.

OUR STUDENTS EXPLORE CROSS CURRICULAR STUDIES TO FIND FIGURES THAT HAD AN IMPACT ON SOCIETY.

THESE YOUNG ARTISTS USE MIXED MEDIA, PASTELS, CHARCOAL, TEXTILES, PORTRAIT STUDIES, AND ELEMENTARY ARTISTS CREATED CLAY SCULPTURES.

I WASN'T SURE IF I WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO GO BACK.

I DIDN'T KNOW IF I HAD ANY TO FOCUS ON SCHOOL BECAUSE I HAD TWO BABIES WHO DON'T HAVE A DADDY.

I DIDN'T HAVE MY HUSBAND, SO I DIDN'T KNOW THAT I FOCUS.

I DIDN'T KNOW FINANCIALLY IF CONTINUING MY DEGREE WOULD BE POSSIBLE.

YESTERDAY, CROWLEY HIGH SCHOOL HOSTED THE BLACK HISTORY MONTH CELEBRATION.

THE BAND, CHOIR, THEATER, TALENTS, AND SOME PRAISE DANCERS ALL PERFORMED THEIR OWN SPECIAL SHOW AND TALENT AND REALLY SHOWED OUT.

THE THEME FOR IT WAS CELEBRATING THE WORK.

WE SHOW UP IN CAREERS, COMMUNITY, AND CULTURE.

OUR BASKETBALL TEAM WERE AREA CHAMPIONS.

UNFORTUNATELY, WE LOST THE THIRD ROUND, BUT THEY HAD AN AMAZING SEASON GOING 23 AND 13.

THE CELEBRATIONS, OUR TRACK TEAM HAS BEEN DOING VERY WELL.

WE'VE BROKEN FOUR SCHOOL RECORDS, INCLUDING ME, AS YOU CAN SEE [LAUGHTER].

OUR FOUR BY TWO BROKE THE SCHOOL RECORD WITH A TIME OF A MINUTE AND 25 SECONDS PLACING US NINTH IN THE NATION.

I RAN 48.05 AND I'M THIRD IN THE NATION RIGHT NOW AND THIS PAST WEEKEND, I BROKE THE 800 RECORD WITH A TWO FLAT [APPLAUSE].

>> THE CAMPUS EVENT SINCE WE'RE GETTING A NEW SCHOOL, CROWLEY'S HAVING A FARE ROD TOUR FOR ALL ITS ALUMNIS AND OLD CROWLEY TEACHERS, STUDENTS, COMMUNITY.

EVERYONE WHO WANTS TO COME INTO THE SCHOOL BEFORE WE TEAR IT DOWN IT'S GOING TO BE ON SATURDAY, MARCH 1ST FROM 2:00-6:00.

MY CONSIDERATION AT FIRST, I DID NOT KNOW, BUT MY AVID TEACHER HELPED ME [LAUGHTER].

AVID IS A VERY HELPFUL INITIATIVE IN SCHOOL.

I'VE BEEN IN IT SINCE I WAS IN FOURTH GRADE AND I'VE NEVER LEFT.

I'VE ALWAYS LOVED IT.

I'VE ALWAYS LOVED THE IDEA OF COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS.

AVID IS DYING DOWN.

WE NEED SOMETHING TO BUILD IT BACK UP, GET MORE PARTICIPATION AND GET STUDENTS BACK INVOLVED IN AVID.

SINCE THERE'S MANY OTHER INITIATIVES AND I'M PROPOSING THAT WE BRING AVID INTO MORE CLASSES.

THERE ARE AVID CERTIFIED SCHOOLS WHERE THEY HAVE AVID IN EVERY CLASS AND THEY TEACH THE COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS IN EVERY CLASS AND BUILDING EACH SCHOLAR UP TO WHERE THEY NEED TO BE AND BE SUCCESSFUL IN COLLEGE.

[NOISE] MY PROPOSAL FOR YOU IS TO ENHANCE AVID'S ROLE IN THE DISTRICT WIDE CCMR STRATEGIES BY INTEGRATING CTE CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPANDING WORKFORCE PARTNERSHIPS AND MILITARY READINESS COMPONENTS.

SHOWCASING AVID AS A CCMR PARTNER USING DISTRICT CAMPUS LEVEL DATA TO PROVE THAT INVESTING IN AVID STRENGTHENS CCMR ACCOUNTABILITY SCORES AND ALIGNS WITH TEXAS LONG TERM VISIONS.

IF YOU WANT A PERSPECTIVE OF WHAT AVID CAN DO, JUST NOW, AVID HAS RAISED $15.4 MILLION IN SCHOLARSHIPS [APPLAUSE].

THE BASKETBALL TEAMS JUST ENDED THEIR SEASON.

THE LADY PANTHERS WERE REGIONAL FINALISTS AND THE MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM WAS THE AREA CHAMPIONS AS WELL.

I JUST WANT TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON THAT.

FOR OUR NORTH CROWLEY CELEBRATIONS AGAIN, WE WANT TO CONGRATULATE OUR SWIM TEAM MEMBERS, KATE AND KIERA LUONG.

THEY COMPETED IN THE TEXAS UIL STATE SWIM MEET.

KATE DID THE 200 YARD INDIVIDUAL AND SHE FINISHED AMONG THE TOP 10 SWIMMERS IN TEXAS.

NOW THIS MADE HER ONE OF THE TOP SWIMMERS IN THE STATE CURRENTLY.

ALSO KIARA DID THE 100 YARD BACKSTROKE AND SHE ALSO SECURED A TOP 10 PLACE.

THEY'RE JUNIORS RIGHT NOW AND THEY'RE GOING TO SET THE STAGE FOR A SENIOR SEASON FOR SURE.

YOU REALLY WANT TO CONGRATULATE THEM AND OVERALL THE WHOLE SWIM TEAM.

THEY'VE HAD A FANTASTIC SEASON.

FOR OUR NORTH CROWLEY CAMPUS EVENTS, WE HAD A MID YEAR GRADUATION CHECK IN FOR SENIORS YESTERDAY.

BASICALLY, WHAT WE DID WAS WENT WITH ALL OUR GO CENTER COUNSELORS AND MADE SURE THAT WE HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED.

AS A SENIOR, THIS REALLY HELPED BECAUSE I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE WE HAD THIS MANY THINGS TO COMPLETE.

AFTER THAT FOUR HOUR TORTURE OF REMINDERS, WE GOT SENIOR COOKOUT.

THAT WAS A GOOD REWARD.

ALSO TO HELP OUT SENIORS, WE HAVE FAFSA AND TASFA WORKSHOPS WITH THE CO CENTER COUNSELORS COMING UP.

FOR SENIOR PARENTS, THAT WOULD BE REALLY USEFUL SO THAT THEY CAN HELP THEIR STUDENTS MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ALL THEIR REQUIREMENTS MET.

FOR OUR CONSIDERATION, I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO SAY BECAUSE I THINK NORTH CROWLEY HAS BEEN DOING REALLY GOOD.

THE ONLY THING THAT I HAD HEARD FROM MOST OF MY PEOPLE THAT I KNOW IN MY CLASS WAS BATHROOM PROBLEMS WHICH IS BECAUSE HALF OF THE SCHOOL OR MORE THAN HALF IS DOING WHAT THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO AND THEY WANT TO USE THE REST ROOMS FOR THE RIGHT REASONS.

BUT THERE'S SOME THAT DON'T.

THAT'S WHY WE HAVE THE BATHROOMS LOCKED.

BUT AFTER SPEAKING WITH DR. LANE, HE EXPLAINED HOW WE HAVE OUR SCHEDULE SET UP AND IT MAKES SENSE, BUT I WOULD STILL LIKE TO CONSIDER MORE TIME FOR PEOPLE TO USE THE RESTROOMS. MOSTLY WITH CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW, THERE'S LESS BATHROOMS OPEN AT NORTH CROWLEY.

WE HAVE TO WALK TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCHOOL TO USE THEM AND MOST OF THE TIME THEY'RE LOCKED DUE TO THE NO GOING TO THE RESTROOM 10 MINUTES AFTER CLASS STARTS OR BEFORE IT ENDS.

BUT I JUST WANTED TO TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION.

MAYBE ALLOW US MORE TIME OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

A COUPLE OF CELEBRATIONS THAT I'D LIKE TO BRING UP FIRST IS WE ARE CELEBRATING THAT OUR 78 SENIORS RAISED OVER THREE MILLION DOLLARS IN GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS.

AS WELL AS WE HAVE SEVEN SENIORS WHO INDIVIDUALLY HAVE RAISED ONE MILLION OR MORE DOLLARS.

OUR DUAL CREDIT ENROLLMENT HAS RISEN.

WE HAVE 1,969 CREDITS IN THE FALL OF 2024 AND 2021 CREDITS IN SPRING OF 2025.

WE'RE MOVING ON VERY QUICKLY.

A COUPLE OF THE CELEBRATIONS THAT WE HAVE, WE HAD A HUGE FUNDRAISER [LAUGHTER].

THE STUDENTS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PAY TO SLASH TEACHERS, SENIORS, AND EVEN OUR OWN SUPERINTENDENT DR. MCFARLAND.

ON A CHILLY DAY MAKING FOR FUN AND MEMORABLE EVENTS WHILE RAISING FUNDS OF THE SCHOOL.

A COUPLE OF UPCOMING CCA CAMPUS EVENTS INCLUDE OUR SENIOR GALA FORMAL, OUR SVEC VOTER REGISTRATION, OUR SPANISH CLUB FIESTA, AS WELL AS OUR TCC GRADUATION FOR THE GRADUATING SENIORS.

ONE OF THE CONSIDERATIONS THAT I'VE GOT FROM ADMINS AND TEACHERS IS BUILDING CONNECTIONS BETWEEN CCA AND THE HOME CAMPUSES WHICH IS VERY IMPORTANT.

ONE IDEA THAT WE HAVE HAD IS ENHANCING THE CONNECTION BETWEEN CCA AND THE HOME CAMPUSES.

BOTH HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPALS HAVE ALREADY TAKEN STEPS TO BRING CAMPUS ADMINISTRATION TO CCA TO HELP STRENGTHEN AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE SCHOOLS.

ONE SUGGESTION TO FURTHER THIS EFFORT WOULD BE TO ESTABLISH A STUDENT LIAISON ON EACH CAMPUS, ENSURING BETTER COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE TWO HOME CAMPUSES WITH CCA.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME AS A STUDENT ATHLETE.

I TRANSITION THROUGHOUT THE DAY FROM BASEBALL BACK TO THE HOME CAMPUS, AND IT'S A LITTLE BIT SOMETIMES THE ISSUES THAT WE GO THROUGH.

BUT OTHER THAN THAT, I DON'T BELIEVE WE HAVE ANY MORE.

THEY WERE SO IMPRESSIVE NOT ONLY DURING THE CONFERENCE, BUT LISTEN, LET ME TELL YOU.

THEY BROUGHT THE HEAT WHEN WE WENT ADVOCATING THROUGHOUT THE CAPITOL.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN TEENAGERS MAKE ELECTED OFFICIALS UNCOMFORTABLE [LAUGHTER].

BUT IT HAPPENED AND I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.

NOT ONLY DID YOU ALL REPRESENT CROWLEY ISD WELL, YOU REPRESENTED THE 5.5 MILLION STUDENTS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS EXTREMELY WELL.

THOSE HAVE REALLY GONE A LONG WAY TO SHARE WITH OUR STAKEHOLDERS WITH OUR FAMILIES THROUGHOUT OUR DISTRICT, HOW THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOL IS PERFORMING AND UNFORTUNATELY, AS WE ARE IN A VERY HEATED DISCUSSION ABOUT THE QUALITY OF PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS, I'M GRATEFUL OF THE FACT THAT CROWLEY ISD TOOK IT A STEP FURTHER THAN SIMPLY DEFINING OUR SCHOOLS BY THE ACADEMIC RATING SYSTEM, BUT LOOKING AT THE METRICS THAT MATTER AND MANY OF OUR PARENTS HAD NO IDEA HOW MANY CLUBS WERE AVAILABLE AT MANY OF THE SCHOOLS AND HOW MANY PARENT ENGAGEMENT AVENUES THERE ARE AT CAMPUSES AS WELL AS HOW MANY OF THE STUDENTS HAVE NEVER HAD DISCIPLINE REFERRALS AND ALL OF THOSE KIND OF THINGS.

EVEN DURING OUR ADVOCACY EFFORTS, WE DIDN'T JUST STOP WITH OUR PRIORITIES AND THOSE THINGS THAT WE WERE ADVOCATING FOR.

BUT ON OUR LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES, WE HAD ON THE VERY BACK OUR DISTRICT QUALITY REPORT, AND WE WERE ABLE TO UTILIZE THAT TO SHOW MANY OF OUR LAWMAKERS THIS IS WHAT A QUALITY DISTRICT LOOKS LIKE.

THAT'S WHAT WE DO HERE IN CROWLEY ISD.

WE DON'T JUST STICK WITH THE NORM, WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND SO THAT WE CAN MAKE SURE THAT WE ARE SHARING WITH OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS THE METRICS THAT MATTER.

THIS IS ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I'M BRINGING THIS REPORT ITEM TO YOU TODAY.

AGAIN, IT GOES BY YOUR ANNUAL SPEND AND THE DISTRICT RECEIVES A PERCENTAGE OR A PORTION OF A REBATE AND THOSE ACTUALLY THEY CALCULATE THAT AND THEN THEY GIVE ME THAT INFORMATION.

THOSE REBATES ARE THEN PLACED INTO THE GENERAL FUND ACCOUNT UNLESS IT'S PAID FOR WITH GRANT FUNDS AND WHICH WE HAVE TO ABIDE BY 200 WHAT IS IT.

HOLD ON. I WROTE IT DOWN BECAUSE I KNEW I WOULDN'T REMEMBER THAT NUMBER TONIGHT.

IT'S TWO CFR PART 200.406 PLUS YOU.

BASICALLY, IN THE TWO CFR PART 200.406, IT TELLS US THAT ANY REBATE THAT WE RECEIVE RELATED TO A PURCHASE, UTILIZING FEDERAL FUNDS MUST BE CREDITED BACK TO THE APPROPRIATE GRANT.

SO I DO WORK WITH OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE, AND I HAVE TO PROVIDE HER REPORTS ALONG WITH THE AMOUNT OF THE REBATE AND THE ACCOUNT THAT SHE NEEDS TO CREDIT BACK SO THAT WE'LL STAY IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW.

HERE IS A QUICK SNAPSHOT OF THE SIX YEAR BUYBOARD REBATE.

FOR 23-24, WE RECEIVED $27,417.

HERE, YOU CAN SEE IT'S $248,405 FOR SIX YEAR.

JUST KEEP IN MIND ANYTIME THAT YOU ARE GENERATING THESE REBATES, THEY ARE BASED OFF OF ANNUAL SPEND.

YOU KNOW WE'RE IN SOME TOUGH TIMES.

WE HAD TO MAKE SOME TOUGH DECISIONS AND HAD TO REALLY FOCUS ON WHAT WE WERE SPENDING ON AND HOW WE WERE SPENDING.

EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT SPEND A LOT OF MONEY, I STILL WENT AFTER THE REBATES THAT I COULD GET SO THAT WE WOULD BRING SOMETHING HOME.

VENDORS HAVE TO PAY A FEE.

AGAIN, THIS IS HOW WE IN TURN RECEIVE A PORTION OF A REBATE FOR EVERY TRANSACTION THAT'S PROCESSED.

WE HAVE ALMOST 100 VENDORS CURRENTLY SET UP WITH THE VIRTUAL CAR PAYMENT.

I'M GOING TO BE WORKING WITH OUR REPRESENTATIVE FROM JP MORGAN CHASE BANK SO THAT WE CAN START A THIRD CAMPAIGN.

BASICALLY, I WORK WITH THEM BY PROVIDING THEM A LIST OF ALL THE ACTIVE VENDORS THAT WE HAVE A SPECIFIC SPEND AMOUNT WITH AND THEN THEY'LL DO THE REST BY REACHING OUT TO THESE VENDORS AND EDUCATING THEM ON THE PROCESS AND HOW THEY CAN GET PAID NET 10 IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THEIR MONEY.

A LOT OF THEM THEY DECIDE, ESPECIALLY DURING COVID, THAT'S WHEN WE REALLY RAMPED IT UP, BECAUSE OF THE MAIL AND ALL THAT KIND OF STUFF.

NOW, THIS PROGRAM, STUDENTS TAKE EIGHT COURSES OVER FOUR YEARS OF SPECIALIZED PHARMACY TECHNICIAN COURSES.

EVERYTHING FROM PHARMACY LAW AND REGULATIONS TO PHARMACY OPERATIONS, CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND COMPOUNDING AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT.

WHEN THEY COMPLETE THIS PROGRAM, THEY WILL HAVE 24 DUAL CREDIT HOURS THROUGH LAMAR STATE COLLEGE PORT ARTHUR.

THEY ALSO RECEIVE A NATIONAL PHARMACY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION LEVEL 1.

IN THE LAST TWO YEARS, '23 AND '24, WE HAD 100% PASSING RATE.

I HAVE ENJOYED OVER 30 YEARS IN A PHARMACY PROFESSION.

I STARTED OUT AS A PHARMACY TECHNICIAN IN CARDIOVASCULAR ICU AND OR AT METHODIST HOSPITAL, BUT CURRENTLY, AS A LICENSED REGISTERED PHARMACIST, I'VE WORKED IN INPATIENT, OUTPATIENT, HOSPITAL, PHARMACIES, CLINICS, MAIL ORDER, AND GENETIC CANCER RESEARCH.

WITH THOSE RELATIONSHIPS THAT I'VE BUILT, I HAVE A HARTFORD COMMUNITY AND THE PHARMACY PROFESSION, BUT MY PASSION IS EDUCATING FUTURE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS.

I HAVE THE PRIVILEGE TO DO THAT HERE IN CROWLEY ISD AT BILL R. JOHNSON.

THROUGH THOSE RELATIONSHIPS, WALGREENS IS ONE OF OUR PARTNERS AND BECAUSE I'VE SPENT SEVEN YEARS AS A STAFF PHARMACIST THERE, 13 AS A PHARMACY MANAGER, AND I WAS THE MTM LEAD OF THE FORT WORTH IN WEST REGION FOR MEDICATION THERAPY MANAGEMENT, MY STUDENTS START THEIR FOUNDATION THERE.

THAT'S WHERE WE'VE BUILT RELATIONSHIPS AND THEY CAN SPRINGBOARD THERE MINIWARE.

THAT'S WHERE THEY GO THEIR FIRST ROTATION.

THEIR SECOND ROTATION, THEY GO TO CVS.

CVS, I'M CURRENTLY A DISTRICT SUPPORT SPECIALIST THERE, AND SO OUR STUDENTS GO THERE TO LEARN THE BUSINESS OF PHARMACY.

THEN ONE OF THE PARTNERS THAT WE'VE HAD, OUR VERY FIRST PARTNER WHEN I CAME TO THE DISTRICT WAS BETTER HEALTH PHARMACY.

BETTER HEALTH PHARMACY IS AN INDEPENDENT PHARMACY AND IT ALLOWS OUR STUDENTS TO HAVE AN ADVANCED SKILL SET BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY GET TO LEARN COMPOUNDING.

THAT'S GOING TO HELP THEIR MARKETABILITY, AND IT ALSO HELPS THEIR EARNING POTENTIAL BECAUSE A LEVEL 1 PHARMACY TECHNICIAN THAT CAN COMPOUND CAN START OFF MAKING $45,000 A YEAR STRAIGHT OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL.

THE CLINICAL ASPECT OF IT, WE REALLY WANT TO GET INTO THE HOSPITAL PORTION OF PHARMACY BECAUSE STUDENTS HAVE LET ME KNOW THAT THAT'S SOMETHING THAT THEY'RE REALLY INTERESTED IN AND WE WANT TO GIVE THEM AS MANY OPTIONS AS POSSIBLE.

RECENTLY, WE GOT ON A CALL WITH TEXAS HEALTH RESOURCES AND THEY HAVE AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM.

PROBLEM IS THEY DO IT ALL DAY DURING THE TIME THAT THEY'RE NORMALLY AT THEIR ASSIGNED PRACTICUM SITES, SO THEY WILL BE ABLE TO AND THEY ALL QUALIFIED TO DO THE SUMMER APPRENTICE PROGRAM.

[LAUGHTER] I LIKE IT ALL, BUT PHARMACY CTSOS, THIS IS OUR SPORT.

NOW, WE CAN'T RUN AS FAST AS YOU.

ONE IS USED TO STATE BECAUSE HE ALSO PLAYS CROWLEY NORTH CROWLEY FOOTBALL TEAM, AND THAT'S JAY STAYING AT THE CENTER, [APPLAUSE] A STATE QUALIFIER.

OUR OTHER STATE QUALIFIER ISN'T HERE, BUT IT'S ACTUALLY HIS SISTER.

HE IS A SENIOR IN OUR PHARMACY PROGRAM AND HIS SISTER IS A FRESHMAN IN OUR PHARMACY DUAL CREDIT PROGRAM.

SHE'S A TRACK PRACTICE.

BUT FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS, I HAVE BEEN THE ADVISOR FOR SKILLSUSA AND WE'VE GONE TO STAY EVERY YEAR, AND THIS YEAR IS EXTRA SPECIAL BECAUSE THIS IS OUR FIRST TIME HAVING A HEALTH KNOWLEDGE BOWL TEAM DO.

ONE OF OUR STATE QUALIFIERS IN MEDICAL MATH, WE QUALIFIED IN MEDICAL MATH, AND THAT'S SHALOM KAMARA.

I'M GOING TO SPEAK ABOUT OUR AVIATION MAINTENANCE PROGRAM.

THIS IS OUR THIRD YEAR OF BEING CERTIFIED BY THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION.

BRJ CTECH IS THE ONLY HIGH SCHOOL FAA CERTIFIED IN THE STATE OF TEXAS [APPLAUSE] ALONG WITH ONLY BEING THE FOURTH ONE IN THE UNITED STATES.

OUR STUDENTS HAVE A HUGE OPPORTUNITY RIGHT HERE THAT SIMILAR TO MY PATH.

WHEN I LEFT HIGH SCHOOL, I WENT THROUGH A TECH SCHOOL, RECEIVED MY FAA LICENSES, WENT TO WORK AT AMERICAN AIRLINES WHEN I WAS 19-YEARS-OLD.

MY STORY RESONATES WITH THESE STUDENTS THAT WILL BE PREPARED WHEN THEY GRADUATE OUR PROGRAM CAN GO RIGHT INTO THE FIELD OR CONTINUE ON.

SOME OF OUR AVIATION WORK BASED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES WE HAVE.

WE'VE BUILT SOME GREAT RELATIONSHIPS RIGHT HERE LOCALLY RIGHT AT SPHINX AIRPORT.

WE HAVE CAM AVIONICS AND NORTH TEXAS AERONAUTICS.

WHAT THEY'RE DOING IS THEY'RE ALLOWING OUR STUDENTS TO COME TO WORK IN THE SUMMER.

OUR PROGRAM DOESN'T ALLOW TIME FOR A PRACTICUM DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR, SO THE OPPORTUNITIES THERE.

I WILL SAY THEY STARTED INTERVIEWING AS SOPHOMORES.

WE DO MOCK INTERVIEWS THROUGH THESE COMPANIES, JUNIOR YEAR, THEY LIVE INTERVIEW.

I WILL SAY LAST YEAR, EVERY STUDENT THAT INTERVIEWED WAS OFFERED A JOB THERE FOR THE SUMMER.

[APPLAUSE] ALONG WITH THAT, WE DO SOME VOLUNTEER WORK WITH THE VINTAGE FLY MUSEUM, WHICH IS LOCATED IN MECHAN FIELD.

THIS ALLOWS JOB SHADOWING OPPORTUNITIES, ALONG WITH HANDS ON OPPORTUNITIES FOR THEM TO UTILIZE THE SKILLS THAT WE'RE TEACHING HERE ON OUR CAMPUS.

THE WAY OUR PROGRAM IS SET UP, OUR STUDENTS WILL ENTER THEIR FRESHMAN YEAR.

THEY'LL REMAIN THROUGH THEIR SENIOR YEAR.

UPON COMPLETION, THEY'LL BE ABLE TO TEST FOR THEIR FA POWER PLANT LICENSE WHICH ALONG THE WAY THEY'LL ACHIEVE EIGHT COLLEGE HOURS.

AT THAT POINT, THEY CAN CHOOSE TO ENTER THE WORKFORCE OR CONTINUING THEIR EDUCATION.

WE'VE HAD COMPANIES REACH OUT TO US.

THEY'RE WAITING ON OUR FIRST GRADUATES.

WE'RE ABOUT A YEAR AWAY FROM THAT SINCE WE'VE ONLY HAD THE THREE YEAR PROGRAM, BUT WE'VE GOT SENIORS THAT ARE GRADUATING THIS YEAR.

ALL NINE OF OUR SENIORS ARE GOING ON TO TCC TO FINISH UP THE PORTION OF THE POWER PLANT AND ALONG WITH THAT TO RECEIVE THEIR AIRFRAME LICENSE WHICH WILL ALLOW THEM TO ENTER THE WORKFORCE.

STARTING SALARY RIGHT NOW FOR AN AMP MECHANIC AT AN AIRLINE IS $38 AN HOUR.

IN 6.5 YEARS, THEY'LL TOP OUT $122,000.

TIMELY, THE STUDENTS ARE 19 AND 20, THEY'LL BE HELL ON THEIR WAY TO THOSE CAREERS.

SOUTHWEST THEMSELVES GAVE US A FIELD TRIP TO GO OVER THERE AND LOOK AT THEIR HANGER RIGHT AT DFW AIRPORT.

PARTNERING WITH THE CROWLEY HOUSE OF HOPE, CROWLEY NURSING REHAB, CHIROPRACTIC, ALSO CROWLEY ISD SPED AND CLINIC DEPARTMENTS ALSO HELP US WITH OUR WORK BASED LEARNING.

STUDENTS ALSO PARTICIPATE IN SUMMER PROGRAMS SUCH AS THE TCU, SUMMER NURSING PROGRAM AND MOST RECENTLY, WE'VE PARTNERED WITH THE JPS SHINE PROGRAM.

WITH THE JPS SHINE PROGRAM, STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN EIGHT WEEKS OF FOCUSED LEARNING.

WELL, THEY CAN GAIN AND POLISH THEIR SKILLS IN FLUB WHICH WE DO TEACH THEM HERE.

THEY WILL ALSO LEARN EKGS AND HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT.

WE ALSO PRIDE OURSELVES IN OUR CAREER AND TECHNICAL STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS AS WELL.

WE DO PARTICIPATE IN TWO HOSA WHICH IS OUR HEALTH OCCUPATIONS FOR STUDENTS OF AMERICA AND ALSO SKILLSUSA.

MOST RECENTLY, IN FEBRUARY, WE COMPETED AT THE TARRANT COUNTY COLLEGE TRINITY RIVER CAMPUS, AND WE SWEPT THE COMPETITION IN MEDICAL ASSISTING.

[APPLAUSE] WE DO HAVE OUR FIRST PLACE WINNER HERE, WHICH IS SHALOM KAMARA, OUR SECOND PLACE WINNER, WHICH IS MICHAEL YOUNG WAS NOT ABLE TO MAKE IT TONIGHT.

WE WILL TAKE THESE STUDENTS TO OUR REGIONAL COMPETITION IN CORPUS CHRISTI FROM APRIL 2ND THROUGH APRIL 5TH AND WE'RE HOPING THAT WE CAN WIN STATE AGAIN BECAUSE SHALOM KAMARA WON STATE LAST YEAR AND WENT TO NATIONALS IN ATLANTA.

WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL, I LIVED IN CHEYENNE WYOMING AND CHEYENNE IS THE CAPITOL SEAT AND SO I WAS ABLE TO GO TO LEGISLATIVE CONFERENCES AT THE TIME, ADVOCATE FOR THE PASSING OF BLOOD ALCOHOL LEVEL, WHERE IT IS CURRENTLY 0.0825? 0.08. I'M THINKING OF TAX, I'M SORRY.

FRONT AND BACK THE LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES, THE FRONT SIDE WAS THE PRIORITIES, THE BACKSIDE WAS OUR SCHOOL QUALITY REPORTS.

AS A REMINDER TO OUR COMMUNITY, SCHOOL SAFETY WAS ONE OF OUR TOP CHOICES FOR OUR BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND THEY CONTINUE TO ADVOCATE FOR THAT AS WELL AS OUR STUDENT TRUSTEES.

SCHOOL FUNDING IS A HOT TOPIC ALL ACROSS THE STATE AND IN CROWLEY ISD, WE SUPPORT PER PUPIL FUNDING AT THE NATIONAL AVERAGE, ADJUSTING THE BASIC FUNDING ALLOTMENT EACH BIENNIUM BASED ON INFLATION.

ADDITIONAL FUNDING FOR STUDENTS RECEIVING SPECIAL EDUCATION SERVICES, THE SAME TRANSPARENCY ACCOUNTABILITY STANDARDS AND ENROLLMENT PRACTICES FOR ALL SCHOOLS RECEIVING STATE FUNDING, THE CONTINUATION OF THE CURRENT DEFINED BENEFIT PENSION PROGRAM FOR TRS MEMBERS, AND AS STATED LAST BOARD MEETING, WE STRONGLY OPPOSE MEASURES THAT ERODE LOCAL DISCRETION DIVERTING PUBLIC TAX DOLLARS TO PRIVATELY RUN SCHOOLS THROUGH VOUCHERS, TAX CREDITS, TAXPAYER SAVINGS, GRANTS, TUITION, REIMBURSEMENTS, OR SIMILAR PROGRAMS. DATES OF INTEREST, JUST KEEPING EVERYTHING ALIGNED TO ALL THE WORK THAT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN DOING FROM THE VERY BEGINNING.

THE REGULAR SESSION BEGAN TUESDAY, JANUARY 14TH, 2025 AND IT CONVENED AT NOON.

ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2ND, GOVERNOR ABBOTT ANNOUNCED A SCHOOL CHOICE AS AN EMERGENCY ITEM, SO THAT'S WHY YOU'RE HEARING A LOT MORE ABOUT IT RIGHT NOW DURING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION TO TRY TO KEEP SOME MOMENTUM WITH THAT.

THEN ON THE FEBRUARY 5TH, THE SENATE BILL 2 SCHOOL CHOICE PASSED IN THE TEXAS SENATE WITH A 19-12 VOTE.

AS YOU ALL CLEARLY STATED, IT WAS NOT AN OVERWHELMING VOTE IN THE TEXAS SENATE.

TEXAS CURRENTLY EDUCATES 6.3 MILLION STUDENTS, AND THEN ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2025, CISD ADVOCACY DAY AT THE CAPITOL TOOK PLACE.

WE WERE ABLE TO LET SOME OF OUR STUDENT VOICES BE HEARD.

ON FEBRUARY 26TH, 2025, THE TEXAS HOUSE HAD ENOUGH VOTES TO PASS SORRY, THE TEXAS HOUSE HAS ENOUGH PASSES 75 SORRY, TO BRING SCHOOL CHOICE UP TO A POSSIBLE PAST VOTE, 75 REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS SUPPORT THE BILL, BUT AS STATED EARLIER, NOTHING IS FINAL YET.

SIXTY TWO HOUSE DEMOCRATS CONTINUE TO OPPOSE HB3 AND 12 REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS WHICH IS REALLY GREAT NEWS.

WITHHELD SUPPORT.

THAT GOES INTO WHAT WE WERE STATING.

LET'S GO AHEAD AND KEEP THAT MOMENTUM GOING AND CONTACTING LAWMAKERS.

WHAT WE'VE DONE IS PUT OUT A LIST OF REPUBLICAN LAWMAKERS WHO ARE WITHHOLDING SUPPORT AND IT MAYBE THEY CAN GET SOME OF THEIR COLLEAGUES TO COME ON BOARD.

GREAT NEWS, I KNOW THAT MAYBE A FEW OF US HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT REPRESENTATIVE GEREN FROM FORT WORTH AND YOU CAN CONTACT HIM TO SAY, HEY, KEEP FIGHTING FOR OUR PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

THEN 199 BILLS HAVE BEEN FILED IN THE TEXAS SENATE.

EDUCATION IS A TOP CONCERN AND PRIORITY.

THEN AS OF THE 27TH, SIX BILLS HAVE BEEN FILED.

THESE ARE HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTIONS THAT COULD POSSIBLY SHOW UP ON BALLOT.

THEY'VE BEEN FILED IN THE HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION AND ONE BILL HAS BEEN FILED AS A SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION BILL THAT COULD BE SHOWN UP ON AN ACTUAL VOTING BALLOT.

THIS PLAN HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED TO HELP WITH INCREASE IN STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND TO IMPROVE INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP PRACTICES AT THE MARY HARRIS CAMPUS.

THE TIP INVOLVES IDENTIFYING AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT, SETTING GOALS, AND DEVELOPING RESEARCH-BASED STRATEGIES TO BUILD TEACHER CAPACITY AND IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT.

THE TIP ALSO FOLLOWS THE GUIDELINES OF THE EFFECTIVE SCHOOLS FRAMEWORK OR ESF, WHICH PROVIDES GUIDELINES OR FRAMEWORK FOR IMPROVING SCHOOLS.

THIS STRATEGY INCORPORATES EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTION OF TIERED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT TO FOSTER COLLABORATIVE DATA ANALYSIS AND INFORMED INSTRUCTIONAL PRACTICES.

THIS IS SUPPORTED BY RESEARCH THAT SAYS THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF PLCS AND FEEDBACK CYCLES IS TO IMPROVE TEACHER QUALITY, WHICH THEN IMPROVES STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES.

STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THAT TEACHER COLLABORATION AND FEEDBACK CYCLES WHEN IMPLEMENTED EFFECTIVELY HAVE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT.

WE ANTICIPATE EXITING OUR CSI STATUS BASED ON RESEARCH-BASED SYSTEMIC IMPROVEMENT.

TO SUPPORT OUR ESSENTIAL ACTIONS, WE HAVE REALLOCATED RESOURCES.

WE'VE INCREASED AND DEDICATED TIME FOR LEADERSHIP TEAM MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE IN WEEKLY PLCS AND FEEDBACK BY RESTRUCTURING SCHEDULES TO REDUCE ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS.

WE'VE INVESTED IN TRACKING AND DATA ANALYSIS TOOLS TO STREAMLINE MONITORING OF INSTRUCTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS AND STUDENT PROGRESS.

FOR EXAMPLE, WE'VE JUST COMPLETED SPRING BENCHMARKS AND THAT CURRENT DATA SHOWS THAT THIRD GRADE READING HAS SHOWN SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN COMPARISON TO LAST YEAR'S 2024 START.

FOURTH GRADE AND FIFTH GRADE READING ARE ALSO MAKING STEADY IMPROVEMENTS AS WELL.

WE HAD TO TAKE A LOOK AT OUR HIRING PROCESS AND THEN HOW WE MADE SURE WE HAD THE BEST TEACHERS.

THAT WAS ALSO SOMETHING THAT WE WERE GIVEN FEEDBACK ON AND WE WERE SUGGESTED TO FOCUS ON AS WELL, SO WE FOCUSED ON MANY AREAS.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ALL OF THAT.

WE'VE ENGAGED ALL THESE TEACHERS WE BROUGHT IN VENDORS IN FOR DEMONSTRATIONS, LAID HANDS ON DISPLAYS, PLAYED THE DISPLAYS, HAD TEACHERS LOOK AT DISPLAYS, HAVE PUT DISPLAYS IN CLASSROOMS. REALLY IN THE PROCESS OF THIS, WE FEEL LIKE WE'VE COME TO A GOOD POINT THAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TWO OF OUR DISTRICTS GOALS, ONE BEING A THRIVING STUDENTS, THIRD BEING EMPOWERING THE STAFF.

NEXT SLIDE. IN OUR PROCESS OF DOING THIS, WE SAID THAT THERE'S BENEFITING OF PROVIDING INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS, ENHANCED STUDENT ENGAGEMENT, MULTI-SENSORY LEARNING, COLLABORATION AMONG THE STUDENTS.

THERE'S IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK THAT THE STUDENTS GET.

THERE'S AN INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN THIS PROCESS. THAT'S WHAT WE LEARNED.

ON THE NEXT SLIDE, THERE'S A STUDY OF THE EDUCATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY REVIEW THAT SYNTHESIZED 44 DIFFERENT INTERACTIVE DISPLAY STUDIES AND SAID THAT THIS REALLY ENGAGES STUDENTS' HIGHER LEVEL LEARNING THING.

THE HIGHER LEVEL LEARNING DEFINED IS IT HELP STUDENTS ANALYZE BETTER, EVALUATE BETTER, APPLY WHAT THEY'RE DOING BETTER AND HELPS THEM IN THE CREATIVE PROCESS OF DOING THIS.

THE KEY FACTORS THAT WE LOOKED AT INCLUDE THE TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP.

THERE ARE CERTAIN LICENSING THAT HAPPENS NOT JUST THIS YEAR, BUT DOWN THE LINE.

CONTINUED TRAINING, THAT WE DIDN'T WANT SOMEONE WHO JUST DROPS THEM OFF, TELLS US HOW TO USE THEM AND LEAVES, BUT SOMEONE WHO'S IN PARTNER WITH US AND WORK WITH US THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

LONGEVITY. MOST OF THE DISPLAYS WILL LAST ABOUT 7-10 YEARS.

THE WARRANTIES LAST ABOUT FIVE YEARS.

THE LIFE CYCLE WAS A REALLY BIG FACTOR AS WELL.

WE DIDN'T WANT TO BUY A PRODUCT THAT WAS IN THE LAST YEAR OF ITS LIFE CYCLE BECAUSE WE WOULD HAVE ALL THESE PURCHASED AND INSTALLING THESE.

THEY'RE ONTO THE NEXT LIFE CYCLE OF THEIR PRODUCT.

ANOTHER IMPORTANT THING WAS THE CASTING TECHNOLOGY, THAT WE DON'T WANT TEACHERS TIED TO THE DESK AND THAT THEY CAN CAST FROM THEIR COMPUTER TO THE SCREEN.

BUT ULTIMATELY, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS THE EFFECTIVENESS IN ENHANCING THE CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION, AND REALLY THE SOFTWARE AND HOW TEACHERS CAN USE THIS, HOW SPED CAN USE THIS FOR OUR VISUALLY IMPAIRED OR HEARING IMPAIRED STUDENTS.

OUR CHOICE WAS A BENQ PRO.

AGAIN, WE LOOKED AT SEVERAL DIFFERENT VENDORS.

WE'RE GOING TO DO A 65" IN THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 75 IN THE SECONDARIES, 85" IN LABS, ART ROOMS, AND OTHER ATYPICAL CLASSROOMS. NOW THESE ARE NOT JUST ARBITRARY SIZES THAT WE THREW UP THERE.

THESE ARE BASED ON RESEARCH AND METRICS AS FAR AS THE SIZE OF THE CLASSROOM, HOW MANY STUDENTS THERE ARE.

REALLY WITH THE 65", THE CLASSROOM'S LIMIT IS 22, ESPECIALLY THE YOUNGER LEARNERS THAT THEY'RE TRYING TO INTERACT THE SCREEN, THEY CAN'T REACH THE TOP OF THE 85" DISPLAY.

THAT'S WHY WE DO THE 65" OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, 75 IN THE SECONDARY, AGAIN, BECAUSE THOSE CLASSES A LITTLE BIT LARGER, THERE'S MORE STUDENTS.

THEN WHEN YOU GET INTO THOSE LABS AND THE ART ROOMS, THOSE THINGS, THEY'RE BIGGER, SO WE HAD THOSE 85 INCH DISPLAYS WITH THAT.

IF WE MOVE FORWARD WITH THIS TONIGHT, THIS IS ACTUALLY THE SECOND LARGE PURCHASE WE'VE DONE FOR TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM.

THE FIRST ONE WAS WAS THE TEACHER LAPTOPS THAT WE VOTED ON LAST YEAR AND YOU APPROVED.

THE REASON WE WENT WITH THESE IS BECAUSE THEY TURN INTO TABLETS, SO NOW THE TEACHERS CAN TAKE THEIR COMPUTER WITH THEM.

THEY CAN WALK AROUND THE ROOM.

THEY CAN TALK TO THE STUDENTS AND NOT BE MORE TETHERED TO THE DESK ANYMORE.

IN A SENSE, WE CAN HAVE FREE RANGE TEACHING GOING ON.

THEY'RE NOT BOUND BY THE TABLE MORE.

THAT'S REALLY ALL I HAVE ABOUT THIS.

THEN THEY GET TO JUST GO UP AND TOUCH IT.

ARE THEY ONLY MOUNTED OR DO YOU HAVE PORTABLE BOARDS? ARE WE PURCHASING PORTABLE?
