THIS ITEM IS A REPORT ON THE ENROLLMENT IN CROWLEY ISD FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

WE'RE DEFINITELY EXCITED ABOUT ALL OF THE INCREASES THAT WE HAVE AND JUST WHAT'S GOING ON IN CROWLEY ISD.

WE THINK PARENTS AND OUR RESIDENTS ARE ACTUALLY RECOGNIZING THAT AS WELL.

BUT WE HAVE MS. BETTIS HERE TO JUST GIVE YOU A HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW OF WHERE WE ARE TODAY WITH ENROLLMENT. MS. BETTIS.

GOOD EVENING, BOARD PRESIDENT, GRASSIA, BOARD OF TRUSTEES, AND DR. MCFARLAND.

I'M HERE TODAY TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT OUR CURRENT TREND IN ENROLLMENT FOR THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

OUR OVERALL ENROLLMENT FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, AS OF YESTERDAY, AUGUST 27TH, '25, IS 16,845 STUDENTS.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE ELEMENTARY ENROLLMENT AT 7,893 STUDENTS, SECONDARY ENROLLMENT, 8,952 STUDENTS, AND WE HAVE 667 PENDING APPLICATIONS.

OUR ENROLLMENT TRENDS WHEN WE DO A THREE-YEAR TREND IN COMPARISON TO LAST YEAR.

AT THE SAME TIME, WE HAD 16,667 STUDENTS, THAT'S THE ORANGE COLOR.

GREEN IS THE 25, I'M SORRY, THAT YEAR NUMBER IS WRONG, BUT AM I READING IT WRONG? I AM SORRY, 23-24, WE HAD 16,610 STUDENTS.

LAST YEAR, 24-25, WE HAD 16,667 STUDENTS, AND THIS YEAR, WE ARE AT 16,680 STUDENTS.

AS YOU SEE, THE GROWTH CONTINUES WITH OUR ELEMENTARY AND OUR SECONDARY CAMPUSES AS WELL.

OUT OF DISTRICT, SOMETIMES WE OFTEN WANT TO KNOW HOW MANY STUDENTS WE'RE TAKING IN THAT ARE NOT WITHIN THE CROWLEY ISD BOUNDARIES.

AS OF LAST YEAR, WE HAD 391 STUDENTS THAT WERE NOT WITHIN CROWLEY ISD, AND THEN 423 OUT OF ALL OF THE YEAR BEFORE, 300 SHOULD BE THE 22-23, AND THE 24-25 IS THE 423.

THAT'S IN COMPARISON TO THE TOTAL DISTRICT NUMBERS.

ONCE WE GET ALL OF OUR STUDENTS ENROLLED, WE THEN BEGIN TO START WITH WHAT'S CALLED OUR LEVELING PROCESS, MEANING THAT WE ARE BALANCING OUT OUR CLASSROOMS TO MAKING SURE THAT THEY'RE WITHIN RATIO.

THIS IS JUST A SNIPPET OF SOME OF THE DATA THAT WE LOOK AT, AND JUST WANT TO GIVE YOU A BRIEF LOOK AT TO HOW WE GO ABOUT LOOKING AT WHAT'S GOING ON.

WE BEGIN THAT PROCESS ON THE SECOND DAY OF SCHOOL, ONCE ROSTERS ARE CLEARED UP BY DROPPING STUDENTS WHO DIDN'T RETURN.

OUR ATTENDANCE NUMBERS ARE REVIEWED DAILY BY THE CENTRAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATION, AND THEN WE BEGIN BALANCING CLASS SIZES AND MOVING TEACHERS.

THAT HAPPENS ALL WITHIN THE FIRST FIVE DAYS OF SCHOOL.

WE THEN GO AND LOOK AT WHAT CAMPUSES NEED ACTUAL GRADE LEVELS CLOSED AT THE ELEMENTARY LEVEL, AND THIS ALL BEGINS BY THE THIRD DAY OF SCHOOL, AND WE ALSO START RE-ROUTING STUDENTS TO WHAT'S CALLED OVERFLOWING TO OTHER CAMPUSES WHERE THOSE GRADE LEVELS HAVE BEEN CLOSED BECAUSE THEY'RE EXCEEDING CLASS SIZE RATIO.

AT THE SECONDARY LEVEL, SCHEDULE ADJUSTMENTS ARE BEING MADE DURING THE FIRST TEN DAYS OF SCHOOL.

STUDENTS ARE STILL GETTING ANY FIXES THAT MAY NEED TO HAPPEN ON THEIR SCHEDULE AND AS WELL AS STILL ENROLLING NEW STUDENTS.

THEN ALSO UPON COMPLETION OF THAT, THEY GO AHEAD AND THEY START MAKING THE LEVELING PROCESS COME INTO PLAY BY ENSURING THAT THE CLASS SECTIONS ARE BALANCED, AND THAT'S AN ONGOING PROCESS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

THIS CONCLUDES OUR ENROLLMENT UPDATE.

BUT TO BE HONEST, WHEN WE MET ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO, PARENTS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE EXPENSE FOR CHEER.

WE'RE WORKING ON WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO ABOUT THAT AND HOW TO ADDRESS IT.

I DO HAVE SOME IDEAS.

FIRST OF ALL, I DID CHECK SOME OTHER DISTRICTS.

YOU GO TO JV, YOU PURCHASE A DIFFERENT UNIFORM FOR JV, AND I THINK THEY HAVE TWO, YOU GO TO VARSITY AND THEY'RE AT THREE UNIFORMS. I BELIEVE OUR YEAR TWO IS GOING TO BE TO SUPPORT THAT PROGRAM UNIFORM.

WE COULD TAKE DOWN THAT INVESTMENT.

ALSO MAKE IT ON A FOUR YEAR ROTATION.

IT USED TO BE IN ALIGNMENT WITH OUR DANCE TEAMS AS WELL.

IF YOU'RE PURCHASING YOUR UNIFORM, FRESHMAN AND JV COULD POSSIBLY KEEP THE SAME UNIFORM.

THEN WHEN YOU GO TO VARSITY IS WHEN YOU WOULD INVEST OR IF YOU MAKE THE VARSITY TEAM, YOU KEEP THAT UNIFORM ON A FOUR YEAR ROTATION.

WE'RE WORKING THROUGH SOME IDEAS.

PROGRAM UNIFORMS IS SOMETHING THAT SOME OF THE OTHER DISTRICTS HAVE IMPLEMENTED.

I BELIEVE FOR YEAR TWO, WE'RE GOING TO TRY TO GET SOME SPONSORS TO HELP US, AND THE DISTRICT WILL ALSO PITCH IN TO PROVIDE THOSE UNIFORMS FOR OUR STUDENTS.

WE TALKED ABOUT HOW PERSONAL THE UNIFORMS, HOW CUSTOM THEY ARE.

WE'VE CLEANED UP A LOT OF INSTRUMENTS ACROSS THE DISTRICT, EVERY BAND, ELEMENTARY MUSIC RECEIVED, OR INSTRUMENTS ON EVERY CAMPUS, WE'VE MADE A LOT OF INVESTMENT IN FINE ARTS PROGRAMMING.

AS FAR AS UNIFORMS, ON A CHOIR RECEIVED BEAUTIFUL NEW FORMAL ATTIRE, TUXEDOS, AND FORMAL GOWNS.

CHOIRS, MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL RECEIVED NEW CHOIR UNIFORMS. WE'VE FRESHENED UP EVERYBODY, LIKE EVERYBODY HAS GET.

YES. BAND IS IN A PROCESS.

THEY'VE DESIGNED NEW UNIFORMS FOR OUR HIGH SCHOOL BANDS, AND OUR NEXT STEP IS FOR ME TO COME OVER AND SEE.

I WAS BEING A LITTLE PICKY ABOUT A COLLAR BUT WE ARE ALMOST THERE WITH THE FINISHING UP THE DESIGN FOR THE BAND AND THOSE THINGS TAKE QUITE A WHILE IN PRODUCTION.

THEY DOUBLED THEIR NUMBERS, AND THEY DID A ROTATION AT TWO MIDDLE SCHOOLS IN THE HIGH SCHOOL, AND THEY WERE ABLE TO DOUBLE NUMBERS AT ALL OF THOSE CAMPUSES.
